  • Accessing MySQL server via VPN in python

    Hi I have a MySQL server that I need access through a VPN. I use MySQLdb package to access MySQL server in Python. When I can access the server without VPN, it works fine, but when I'm at certain locations, I need to connect through VPN. My computer is connected to the VPN and I can access the database through PHPMyAdmin, but MySQLdb gives me an error message: OperationalError: (2003, "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'MY_IP' (10061)") Any ideas on why it's not working?   • SQL Server Management Studio unable to connect to local instance.

    I'm not a DBA, I'm a developer - and I'm having trouble with SQL Server Management studio. I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard on Windows 2008 Server R2, and according to Sql Server Configuration Manager, I've got two instances: OFFICESERVERS (for sharepoint) and MSSQLSERVER. When I open SQL Server Management Studio I can only discover OFFICESERVERS. I've checked the protocol configuration for both instances and didn't see anything that indicates to me why this would be. Any hints?

    I would like to run the Windows Desktop Search indexer at below normal priority. When I try to set this via task manager, I get 'Access is denied'. Is there a way to remove whatever restrictions are protecting this process? Or ideally, configure it to have the lower priority on startup? XPSP3 btw.

Specifically, it needs to be: -Web-based, or easily shared between 4 people working out of their homes -Easy to backup and restore -Decently secure Does anyone have any recommendations?     Hi there I'm a developer looking at introducing ClickOnce deployment for an internal .NET Winforms application that will be distributed via the corporate network. Currently the product roll out and updates are handled by Group Policy however I would like to control the updates via ClickOnce deployment now. What I would like to know is, how should I initially roll out the package to make sure that all users have got it. Can I use a combination of Group Policy (the roll out) and then rely on the ClickOnce deployment model for any further updates?

    I installed PHP 5.3 on a CentOS 5.3 using yum and repos from Webtatic (http://www.webtatic.com/packages/php53/) and now I'd like to add the GD library to that installation but Webtatic seems to be offline. Now: # yum install php-gd Fails of course (not the same PHP version) into: *Error: Missing Dependency: php-common = 5.1.6-27.el5_5.3 is needed by package php-gd-5.1.6-27.el5_5.3.x86_64* And: # yum install php53-gd Fails into Error: php53-common conflicts with php-common How can I add the GD libraries now?

    When trying to install SQL Server 2008 Developer and Enterprise editions on a Windows 7 box I've got this message: Rule "Restart computer" failed. A computer restart is required. You must restart this computer before installing SQL Server. Of course I already restarted 10 times. I've found a post in a forum saying that I should clear HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations but I don't have such a key.

  • Can access website but images, css stylesheets and javascript files do not download

    i have this problem, not sure about the source of it, Basically the title describes the issue, I can access the webpage and see the html structure, but no resources are being donwloaded nor I have access to them using the browser that means, no javascript, no css styles and no images., any solutions?, Im using tomcat by the way. EDIT 1 If I access the tomcat manager from within the server it also blocks the images. I'm running on windows server 2008 R2.

  • External USB disk drive cannot be remounted in Windows XP

    I have Maxtor Basics Desktop 1TB external USB drive connected to Windows XP. The dirve's firmware puts it to sleep after 10-20 min of inactivity and then the drive cannot be mounted unless I reset it via power connector. While in sleep mode I can see the device in the Device Manager under both Disk drives and USB sections. Is there a way to get the drive out of sleep mode without hard reset? Thanks

  • Putty can't connect to USB modem on Windows 7

    I'm trying to configure caller id on a USB modem connected to a Windows 7 x32 machine. Hyperterminal isn't available so I downloaded the latest version of Putty and am using the Serial option. I'm using the modem's COM port details from Device Manager (COM5, 115200 baud), but when I open the putty session it just hangs with the cursor at the top left hand corner. Hitting the Enter key does nothing. Any ideas??

    Have encountered a problem with in Reporting Services 2005 with printing and drillthrough. If I view a report in Report Manager and then Print the report then I drillthrough from the first report to a second then when I click "back" to go back to the main report the Print dialog pops up. Has anyone else encountered this before? Does anyone know of any workarounds?

    I've just bought IBM T61 laptop and it has non-orginal battery. Everything was ok (laptop worked without being plugged), but something has changed, and now battery isn't charged. Power Manager says: "This system may not support batteries that are not genuine Lenovo-made or authorized. This sytem will contunue to boot, but may not charge unauthorized batteries" (screen: http://i52.tinypic.com/2ywhdns.png) I have no idea, what to do, how to solve this problem. Thank's for help.

    What is the recommended way of getting command-line Amazon EC2 tools on Debian? So, basically the same as this question, but for EC2 instead of S3. Ubuntu has ec2-ami-tools and ec2-api-tools, but I couldn't find equivalent packages for Debian. A blog post titled "Install EC2 AMI & API tools in Debian" talks about installing Amazon's packages outside package management, but that seems a little clumsy.
