  I have my asp.net web server setup to use windows authentication. It is authenticating just fine with my current logged in user. I can verify this by viewing ... HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name And I can verify that I am authenticated by viewing... HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated However, when I call the .IsInRole function I get the trust relationship error... HttpContext.Current.User.IsInRole("accounting") I have found online references to problems with supplying domain name with the role name (domain\accounting), but I still get the same error. Any suggestions on where to look or troubleshoot the problem?

• Flash / actionscript 3 sound delay.

  Hey. Im working on a flash project where I am loading multiple sounds from external files. The problem is that when I play them within my project there is a small delay from when they should be played until they are actually playing. My sounds are very short and are loaded before the project is actually using them. I have looked up the problem online and it looks like the problem is not something that is only happening for me. But, non of the resources I found had any clear ways of fixing this. Some resources say that you can fix this my constantly having a sound playing in the background. I have that but it does not help. I have also looked at the actual sound file in a sound tool and there is a small delay before the sound starts, but it is very very small and should not result in the delay im seeing in my flash project. Does anyone know of a good way to fix it?

  I found a function online for turning a url within a string into a clickable link. • How to void authorized transaction in authorize.net gateway using ActiveMerchant

  Goal: Only have successful purchases show up on a customer's billing statement. I don't want declined authorizations showing up on their billing statement (as seen in an online banking system) as pending. A customer often will accidentally input an incorrect billing address, for example, followed by a correct one. Together, the two attempts, one successful and one not both show up on their billing statement as pending prior to settlement. This can scare the customer as it looks potentially like they will be charged twice. Details: When I do an AUTH_CAPTURE (via ActiveMerchant's purchase) or an AUTH (via ActiveMerchant's authorize) which is declined and subsequently want to void that authorization (via ActiveMerchant's void) so as not to have it appear on a customer's billing statement as pending (even though it will settle out after a few days), the gateway can't find the transaction to void using the authorization code returned from the authorization or capture method calls on the gateway. This is specific to the authorize.net AIM gateway. Please advise. Thanks!

I've integrated it into my desktop and iphone apps and have the connection working, but am clueless as to how to actually sync my objects.   Hi all, I am evaluating online storage and for me, that means either Amazon S3 or Google Docs. Amazon very clearly posts there reliability and SLA: http://aws.amazon.com/s3/#protecting Their rates are obviously higher than Google's, but it is really hard to compare without having an SLA. Does anyone know what Google's commitment is for reliability? Is it 99.99% for data, is there anyway to make that more durable? I have to ask too, wouldn't google docs at least be inheritently more reliable than a hard drive? Thanks, Walter

  How do I calculate distance between 2 coordinates by sea? I also want to be able to draw a route between the two coordinates. Only solution I found so far is to split a map into pixels, identify each pixel as LAND or SEA and then try to find the path using A* algorithm. Then transform pixels to relative coordinates. There are some software packages I could buy but none have online extensions. A service that calculates distances between sea ports and plots the path on a map is searates.com

  Hi All, Firstly, "Modifying" may be the wrong term, I see a few people have posted online just asking whether they can actually modify an embedded resource. What I am wanting to to, is use a resource in my assembly as a kind of template which I would do a find and replace on before registering it on the page - is this possible? For example; say I have a few lines of jQuery as an embedded resource in my assembly and in this script I am referencing a CSS class name that can be set by the front-end programmer. Since I do not know what the CSS class will be until implementation, is there a way of going through the embedded resource and replacing, say, $myclass$ with ThisClassName. Any help would be appreciated, if it's not possible then at least tell me so I can stop chasing my tail. Cheers, James

• Using a priority queue in Java

  Forgive me if this is a tried question, but I'm having a little difficulty figuring it out. I currently have a class Node, and each 'node' is a square in a maze. I'm trying to implement the A* algorithm, so each of these nodes will have an f-cost (int) data member inside of it. I was wondering if there's a way that I can create a priority queue of these nodes, and set up the f-cost variable as the comparator? I've looked at examples online, but all I can find are String priority queues. Can I implement Comparator for the Node class? Would this allow me to access the data member stored inside it?   Hey Guys (and Ladies) I am looking at getting the image name from an image with a src loaded dynamically. Basically what I am doing is using the Google chat badge on a site to live chatting. And else where on the page, I have an image saying Live Chat:Online or Live Chat:Offline. And I want this to change depending on whether I am available to chat or not. Does this make sense? Anyway, the easiest way I figure to do this would be check the img url. If the img is offline.gif then obviously I am offline. An example of a dynamically loaded img would be something like <img src="http://www.google.com/talk/service/badge/Show?encrypted_acount_id_here" /> Once this image has loaded, it loads one of the following images "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/offlinef.gif" "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/idlef.gif" "http://www.google.com/talk/service/resources/onlinef.gif" Hopefully this make sense now.   I have an online application that all of its pages use HTTPS. I have 3 questions: Does Google index HTTPS pages? I have a password protected single ASP.NET page (using HTTPS). Password protection is basically achieved by a Session object. When the correct password is entered, it hides the login panel and displays the same page which has a sensitive data. Is this page indexed by Google? I have a Secure folder that I implemented Forms Authentication. All pages in folder use HTTPS as well. Are the pages in this folder indexed by Google? • Why is Visual Studio 2008 stuck in debug mode when compiling

  I have a .NET project that for some reason gets stuck in debug mode. I've changed the compile mode from debug to release in the toolbar, but my project ends up in the debug directory anyway. Seems like VS is not updating the SLN file or something. Please help! The reason I am asking about this is because it seems that there are weak references "ENCList" clogging up memory when my program runs, and they seem to be created when .NET apps are compiled in debug (or so says other sources I've found online). -Mark

• Can someone recommend a bells and whistles CSS framework?

  I am looking for a bells and whistles CSS framework. I have found a number online that deal with "grids", and some that deal with "typography" and others that deal with "resetting". What I have not found is something that will give my web applications a consistent reusable style or theme. I guess it would have to have a number of predefined elements that do things, for example: div.boxed {...} And then a number of themes or plugins that provide these in a consistent way. Javascript toolkits like ExtJS, YUI, and also GWT have their own skinability, and I guess this is the featureset that I want, but independent of any Javascript library. (Open source would be best, but we don't mind paying) Edit: 5 good answers, but I have seen all those frameworks, and they are not enough of what I am looking for. Perhaps what I am looking for doesn't exist. Or I haven't explained properly. I will give them a good going over and see.

• MTU mismatch between GetIfEntry and netsh

  I'm working on pseudo-transport layer software that runs over UDP, providing reliable connection-oriented transmission, as an alternative to TCP. In order to maximize network efficiency, we query the MTU of the "best" network adapter upon initialization. MIB_IFROW row = {0}; row.dwIndex = dwBestIfIndex; dwRes = GetIfEntry(&row); Searching online I found that you can use the following netsh commands to query for this same value, from a command prompt (not a C++ API) netsh interface ipv4 show interfaces netsh interface ipv4 show subinterfaces The troubling issue is that while row.dwMtu may be set to 1500, snooping the network traffic on the sending laptop shows that our packets are fragmented into 1300 byte packets. netsh also reports that the MTU is 1300. Clearly the value reported by netsh command is the actual used values. Anyone know what API I can call to get the same values as netsh?

Some of the source folders are quite large, and the program doesn't crash for about 40 minutes after it starts. • Python: Getting INVALID response from PayPal's Sandbox IPN, slowly going insane...

  Hi All I am trying to implement a simple online payment system using PayPal, however I have tried everything I know and am still getting an INVALID response. I know it's nothing too simple, because I get a VERIFIED response when using the IPN simulator. I have tried putting the items into a dict first, I have tried fixing the encoding, and still nothing.   Hello, Currently, I have a build chain, completly manage by automake, like: .vala > .c > .o > .exe I would like add a new step for preprocess a XML file .ui into a vala source: .ui > .vala > .c > .o > .exe I did this, in makefile.am gtkbuilder2vala_SOURCES = \ abstract-window.ui \ main.vala \ $(NULL) And: XSLTPROC = xsltproc .ui.vala: $(XSLTPROC) ... But make don't understand: make: *** No rule to make target `abstract-window.c', needed by `gtkbuilder2vala-abstract-window.o'. Stop. This seems to be a limitation of make: http://www.ensta.fr/~diam/dev/online/autoconf/autobook/autobook_180.html if the translation takes three steps--from .m' to.x', then from .x' to.c', and finally to `.o'---then Automake's simplistic approach will break. Have you another idea?

• How can I differentiate between the .net WebBrowser component and an actual browser?

  OK, so we have an online downloads store accessed via our software. Recently we've had requests to allow downloads via normal browsers and it's fairly easy just to slap a download page on. The problem is that it would be confusing to people having two download links, one for the software and one for their web browser, so we want to differentiate between the two and only show the relevant download link. From what I've gathered, the .net WebBrowser component is the same as IE and uses the same User Agent, so we can't use that unless we subclass the WebBrowser in the software to make it use a specific User Agent. It's the more sensible option, but we'd have to roll out another updated version, which is less than ideal. Are there any other ways to tell if someone's accessing a site via the .net component? My only other alternative is to copy the store to a different address with the different download links and send people there. Again this is doable, but not ideal.

  Hit a speed bump, trying to update some column values in my table from another table. This is what is supposed to happen when everything works Correct all the city, state entries in tblWADonations by creating an update statement that moves the zip city from the joined city/state zip field to the tblWADonations city state TBL NAME | COLUMN NAMES tblZipcodes with zip,city,State tblWADonations with zip,oldcity,oldstate This is what I have so far: UPDATE tblWADonations SET oldCity = tblZipCodes.city, oldState = tblZipCodes.state FROM tblWADonations INNER JOIN tblZipCodes ON tblWADonations.zip = tblZipCodes.zip Where oldCity <> tblZipcodes.city; There seems to be easy ways to do this online but I am overlooking something. Tried this by hand and in editor this is what it kicks back. Msg 8152, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated. Please include a sql statement or where I need to make the edit so I can mark this post as a reference in my favorites. Thanks!
