  • How could I use AJAX to create a Json data source .txt file?

    I'm creating a form that collects standard information about customers. When the user hits save, I would like to create a .txt file that would be used to later retrieve all of the data collected from customers. I'm using DataTables which is a jQuery plugin to display the data. The .txt file would be formatted to be saved as such: { "aaData": [ ["client 1 name","address","city","state","zip"], ["client 2 name","address","city","state","zip"], ["client 3 name","address","city","state","zip"], ... ["client x name","address","city","state","zip"] ] } Where "aaData": is used by DataTables. This is going to part of an iPhone app, so the data source has to be very small and not reliant on a constant connection to a server, so, essentially, a client-side data source. The .txt file has to also be updated when edited and saved, and then replaced every time it is downloaded.

  • Slime: frame-source-location not implemented / is my sldb Backtrace output normal?

    I'm debugging my Lisp code in Slime. When the debugger generates the Backtrace it's my understanting that I can hit 'v' on a frame to take me to the source. When I do this on the first (0 index) frame (or indeed any frame) I get frame-source-location not implemented Is this expected, am I missing anything? Edit1: In addition every single frame has "No Locals", is this to be expected too? Edit2: In fact, the whole backtrace output is pretty unintelligible. I'm new to Lisp, so I wasn't initially sure if this was expected or not - but I'm attaching a screenshot, hopefully someone can confirm for me if this looks 'normal':

  • Is it possible to manipulate the format on a DataGridView that is bound to a Data Source?

    I´m using SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2008, C#. In the data source (the SQL Server data table) I use the date format mm/dd/yyyy, however, in a forms overview (DataGridView) users would like to see a completely other format, with year, week number and day number of week (yyww,d). I´ve created an algorithm for this transformation, but can I populate the affected cells with yyww,d instead of mm/dd/yyyy? And in that case - how would I do it? I guess I need to do it after the cells are populated, but before they are shown. The generic question is - how do I manipulate the format of Data Source bound DataGridView cells.

    I am working on a small project, hosted on Google Code, using SVN for source control. This is my first time using source control, and I'm a bit confused about what I should actually be committing to the repository. My project is very simple: A Class Library project, written in C#. The actual code that I have written is a single file. My question is this: Should I be committing the entire project (including directories like Debug, Release, Properties, etc.) or just my main .cs file? Thanks, After fighting with Subversion for a while (note to self: do not reset repository), it looks like I finally have it working with the directories laid out properly.   • How to have CVS files in different directory than source files in NetBeans?

    I have a project in NetBeans which haven't used CVS until now. Let's say the directory with source files is called /www/source_files and directory with project files /www/project_files. Module in repository is called differently than source files directory. When I'm trying to check out CVS, it forces me to create a directory called exactly how module is called, which is fine by me in fact. Straight after it asks me if I wanted to create new project. And here the problem begins. I don't want to do that and I have no idea how to link newly created directory with CVS and checked out files with my project. I'd like to end up with following structure: /www /source_files /project_files /cvs_files Any ideas how to do this? I'm using NetBeans 6.8.

  • WPF problem modify style of images in multiple Button Templates

    I'm trying to create a control panel for a video camera, the panel has buttons for up, down, left and right etc. Each camera function up, down, left and right is represented by three images (see code below) for the left side, middle and right side. The control panel is circular so the corner images kind of overlap (its complicated to explain this without a visual). When I click on up for example I have to hide the initial three images (leftside, middle and right side) and display another three images for left , middle and right that indicate that the button is pressed. I am achieving this by having a grid inside a button template. The problem I have is that for the corner images for the control there are really four images that represent this. For example for the top left corner the four images would be represent 1. Top not clicked. 2. Top Clicked and 3. Left Not clicked and 4. Left Clicked. My problem is if I need to make the images contained within the Top button have precedence when the top control is clicked or the images in the left button have precedence when the left button is clicked. So it's like I want to modify the left button's image visible property when the top button is clicked and vise versa. This is really difficult to explain so I apologize if it makes little sense but I can email the source code on request if anyone is interested in my predicament. <Grid> <Canvas> <!--<StackPanel>-->   • Defining a static array into a C or C++ source file.

    Hello. I know this is a question that every programmer should know, but I do not know. Long time no C programming and I've forgotten a lot of things. My question is: I have three huge static arrays defined inside a header file. Someone told me that It's much better to declare them as extern in the header file, and define them in a single C or C++ source file. How can I do that?   • Beside SVN, how do you manage your development vs test vs production source code?

    I'm working on a very large project with three phases of source code. Development source code: changes rapidly every second, and checked by our QA Test environment code: released to clients' QA department (released every 2-3 weeks) Production environment: after confirmed ok by client QA its released to prod. (every few months) The system (governmental web app) is very large to track changes,bugs and hot fixes, sometimes the Testers could ask for a change, some other times the Production could ask for a hot fix or small update. The problem is, when the Test or Production request changes, the development code is already changed a lot, and they always warn us they want only that small fix, do not upload anything new with it. The question, how should i manage the code for the 3 phases, and get back to Test or Production code any tie and fix that small one thing (reflecting the change to the current Development as well)? Note: making a branch each time is too much, and i don't want the developers to be lost between updating the mainstream, the branch and the Test code!

    I've trolled the internets to make hdmi work on my system Ubuntu 12.04 software center kernel 3.5 uname: Linux ubuntu 3.5.0-18-generic #29~precise1-Ubuntu SMP...x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux open source radeon drivers vgaswitcheroo (hybrid intel/radeon gpu): I boot with intel, not radeon, running. (and recall that with kernel 3.5, vgaswitcheroo now gives info on a third item, "DIS-Audio"; it indicates pwr on my system) ( /etc/rc.local: chown user:user /sys/kernel/debug/ # change "username" with your user name echo OFF /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch ) grub indeed now has "radeon.audio=1" for testing audio, I did aplay -l which gave me the card and device, which made me try aplay -D plughw:1,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav and lo! I get crystal clear sound on my hdtv. If I play an mp3 file as the argument to that command, I get noise as, I guess, aplay interprets the mp3 code as a wav. If I play a .wav that is not in the /usr/share/sounds/alsa/ directory, I get nothing. Internet flash video in browser plays no sound over hdmi. Both system sounds control and pavucontrol have hdmi cedar selected. Alas, I can not get sound for any gui test (left, right). Why would only aplay, and only when directed with "-D plughw", yield sound over hdmi? I've also tried only using one sound program at a time, if it was a limitation of alsa, so I tried aplay with web browser and even the sound control gui closed. I tried each of the last two, running alone. No improvement. alsamixer only shows hda intel and I think it's only the intel audio, not the hdmi.

  • Is it possible to programmatically set the state of the shift and control keys?

    The reason I am asking is that I am thinking of building a foot switch to act as shift and control keys - well two switches, one for each foot. I'm planning on using the Arduino for this and writing a small C# application to detect when the switch has been pressed that would then set the state of shift or control. I would rather not have to write a keyboard driver for the Arduino as I would like it to do other things as well.

    You can only define a GroupItemCount in the ListView, but what if you want to do grouping based on a property of the items in the data source? Sort of an ad-hoc group by. The data source is sorted on this property. I have seen some examples where some markup in the ItemTemplate was conditionally show, but I want to leverage the GroupTemplate if possible. Is this possible?

    I am using a Microsoft Chart control (system.windows.forms.datavisualization.charting.chart) in a Windows forms application, vb.net 2008. I use folder paths for the x values in a pie chart. Chart control converts a name like c:\newfolder into c:[newline]ewfolder. I tried adding a slash, making it c:\\newfolder, but this only changes it to c:\[newline]ewfolder. Is there a workaround for this behavior?

    We run MS Access as the front end for most of our business. When we upgraded from Access 2000 to Access 2003 the image control we used to print out Tif images failed to load Tifs anymore. A bit of Googling showed that MS did this intentionally and I'm wondering if the problem still happens in Access 2010. Can someone with a downloaded copy drop an image control on an Access 2010 form or report and try to get it to display a Tif file?
