  • Can I create object names from a text file in Python 2.7?

    I'm working on a game project. I've created an object, Star(Object). I want to assign the name of the variables, dynamically, from a text file. If I have a text file with: Sol Centauri Vega I want the program to create the Star(Object) with variable names from the text file. I want the process automated, because I'm looking to create hundreds of stars. I could write the code out by hand: Sol = Star(Sol) Centauri = Star(Centauri) Vega = Star(Vega) But isn't there a way to automate this? Essentially, what I eventually want is a tuple with the list of stars, as their own objects. Then, when I am doing game maintenance, I can just iterate over all the objects in the tuple.

  • Global find object references in NHibernate

    Is it possible to perform a global reversed-find on NHibernate-managed objects? Specifically, I have a persistent class called "Io". There are a huge number of fields across multiple tables which can potentially contain an object of that type. Is there a way (given a specific instance of an Io object), to retrieve a list of objects (of any type) that actually do reference that specific object? (Bonus points if it can identify which specific fields actually contain the reference, but that's not critical.) Since the NHibernate mappings define all the links (and the underlying database has corresponding foreign key links), there ought to be some way to do it.

  • How to define index by several columns in hibernate entity?

    Morning. I need to add indexing in hibernate entity. As I know it is possible to do using @Index annotation to specify index for separate column but I need an index for several fields of entity. I've googled and found jboss annotation @Table, that allows to do this (by specification). But (I don't know why) this functionality doesn't work. May be jboss version is lower than necessary, or maybe I don't understant how to use this annotation, but... complex index is not created.   • How can I create a javascript library in a separate file and "include" it in another?

    First, a caveat. The main script is not run in a webpage. I will be running the .js file in Windows using Windows Script Host. The problem: I would like to create a javascript "library" containing a number of objects, each with a number of functions. I expect this library will get rather large with time and would like to keep it in a separate javascript file (let's call it Library.js). I would like to access the objects from Library.js from another script (let's call this one User.js). In essence, I am looking for something similar to the C/C++ "include" paradigm. Is there anyway to implement this in javascript? (Remember, this is not web-based)

    Hi again guys. I'm trying to access my iPhone's device keychain. I want to access in order to create a simple user-password value intended for a log in function.     Hi there, I'm facing a situation where I have dependent objects and I would like to be able to remove an object and all references to it. Say I have an object structure like the code below, with a Branch type which references two Nodes. public class Node { // Has Some Data! } public class Branch { // Contains references to Nodes public Node NodeA public Node NodeB } public class Graph { public List<Node> Nodes; public List<Branch> Branches; } If I remove a Node from the Nodes list in the Graph class, it is still possible that one or more Branch objects still contains a reference to the removed Node, thus retaining it in memory, whereas really what I would quite like would be to set any references to the removed Node to null and let the garbage collection kick in. Other than enumerating through each Branch and checking each Node reference sequentially, are there any smart ideas on how I remove references to the Node in each Branch instance AND indeed any other class which reference the removed Node?     I'm calling to_xml on an ActiveRecord object with both :only and :methods parameters. The method that I'm including returns a collection for AR objects. This works fine without the :only param, but when that is added I just get the default to_s representation of my objects. i.e <author><books>#&lt;Book:0x107753228&gt;</books>\n</author> Any ideas?     Hi all, I want to be able to access properties from a json string within my java action method. The string is available by simply saying myJsonString = object.getJson(); Below is an example of what the string can look like: {'title': 'Computing and Information systems','id':1,'children': 'true','groups': [{'title': 'Level one CIS','id':2,'children': 'true','groups':[{'title': 'Intro To Computing and Internet','id':3,'children': 'false','groups':[]}]}]} In this string every json object contains an array of other json objects. The intention is to extract a list of id's where any given object possessing a group property that contains other json objects. I looked at google's Gson as a potential json plugin.     I've been mandated to write an application to migrate the Active Directory access models to another environment. Here's the context: I'm stuck with VB.NET 2005 and .NET Framework 2.0; The application must use the Windows authenticated user to manage AD; The objects I have to handle are Groups, Users and OrganizationalUnits; I intend to use the Façade design pattern to provider ease of use and a fully reusable code; I plan to write a factory for each of the objects managed (group, ou, user); The use of Attributes should be useful here, I guess; As everything is about the DirectoryEntry class when accessing the AD, it seems a good candidate for generic types. Obligatory features: User creates new OUs manually; User creates new group manually; User creates new user (these users are services accounts) manually; Application reads an XML file which contains the OUs, groups and users to create; Application informs the user about the OUs, groups and users that shall be created; User specifies the domain environment where to migrate the XML input file designated objects; User makes changes if needed, and launches the task operations; Application performs required by the XML input file operations against the underlying AD as specified by the user; Application informs the user upon completion. Linear features: User fetches OUs, groups, users; User changes OUs, groups, users; User deletes OUs, groups, users; The application logs AD entries and operations performed, plus errors and exceptions; Nice-to-have features: Application rollbacks operations on error or exception. I've been working for weeks now to get acquainted with the AD and the System.DirectoryServices assembly. But I don't seem to find a way to be fully satisfied with what I'm doing and always looking for better. I have studied Bret de Smet's Linq to AD on CodePlex, but then again, I can't use it as I'm stuck with .NET 2.0, so no Linq! But I've learned about Attributes, and seen that he's working with generic types as he codes a DirectorySource class to perform the operations for OUs, groups and users. Any suggestions?     I've got an assignment I can't figure out, any pointers will be much appreciated, it goes like so: There's a series of light bulbs represented as an array of true/false, there's a switch for every light bulb, by clicking it for any light bulb, you toggle it as well as 2 adjacent ones (1 from left & another 1 from right; if clicked switch's bulb on edge -- only 1 adjacent toggled of course). What is needed to accomplish is a method that accepts an array of a series of turned on/off light bulbs and another one representing another state of supposedly the 1st array after some switches have been clicked..! So recursion must be used to find out whether there's a combination of switch clicks that will transform array 1 to array 2. Here's the signature of the method: public static boolean disco(boolean[] init, boolean[] target) Will return true if array init can be transformed to target, false otherwise. Method must be static and not use any other static and global variables, only local. Example: boolean[] init = {true, false, true, false, true, false}; boolean[] target = {false, true, false, true, false, true}; For above 2 arrays, disco(init, target) will return true because toggling the 1st and 4th bulbs would yield the target state (remember adjacent bulbs being toggled as well). Any help much appreciated..!!

    I need to develop a product catalog (about 4000 products) application, which would be given to clients on CD or DVD. The catalog exists in webpage format using PHP and MySQL. IMPORTANT: the application is given to clients who maight have old PC, old System. For minimal requirements I would put Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6 (if needed). I need the following features: 1 search option (after productID AND after keyword) 2 print option (by selecting multiple products) 3 shopping cart (making a list which will be sent to an email address if there is any Internet Connection on the computer) When I was asked to do it I had 2 days to realise a very basic version, so I took the whole website and exported it in HTML pages, and developed an application in C# which contains an embeded browser. So the whole website is now static and put on a CD. Everything fine so far. Now here are the problems: 1. the search option was realized by parsing the html files and reading the productID or looking for keywords inside of them. Put on a CD it was extremely slow (searching in 600MB of html files). FOR THIS I WOULD NEED A SOLUTION WITH A STATIC DATABASE (USING ACCESS OR SOMETHING) TO HAVE INDEXED ROWS, SO THE SEARCH COULD BE A VERY FAST ONE. 2. the printing option was a simply call of the embeded Internet Explorer print functions. Here are two problems: a) user needs IE7 for printing the website scaled (FIT TO PAGE), otherwise the edges of the page are cut down. b) users of this app does not have even the basic PC usage skills, so they can't set the printing settings, so there will appear in header and footer the page numbers and titles. QUESTION: can I set these settings from CSS for printing? 3. couldn't make a a shopping cart as I don't use a database, so I have static websites and content is inside the HTML. QUESTION: WHICH ARE THE BEST SOLUTIONS FOR THE PROBLEMS DESCRIBED ABOVE? PLEASE ANSWER EVEN IF YOUR ANSWER IS FOR ONE QUESTION ONLY. THANKS

    I have written two nearly identical generic extension methods and am trying to figure out how I might refactor them into a single method. They differ only in that one operates on List and the other on List, and the properties I'm interested in are AssetID for AssetDocument and PersonID for PersonDocument. Although AssetDocument and PersonDocument have the same base class the properties are defined in each class so I don't think that helps. I have tried public static string ToCSVList<T>(this T list) where T : List<PersonDocument>, List<AssetDocument> thinking I might then be able to test the type and act accordingly but this results in the syntax error Type parameter 'T' inherits conflicting constraints These are the methods that I would like to refactor into a single method but perhaps I am simply going overboard and they would besat be left as they are.   • How to reliably replace a library-defined error handler with my own?

    On certain error cases ATL invokes AtlThrow() which is implemented as ATL::AtlThrowImpl() which in turn throws CAtlException. The latter is not very good - CAtlException is not even derived from std::exception and also we use our own exceptions hierarchy and now we will have to catch CAtlException separately here and there which is lots of extra code and error-prone. Looks like it is possible to replace ATL::AtlThrowImpl() with my own handler - define _ATL_CUSTOM_THROW and define AtlThrow() to be the custom handler before including atlbase.h - and ATL will call the custom handler. Not so easy. Some of ATL code is not in sources - it comes compiled as a library - either static or dynamic. We use the static - atls.lib. And... it is compiled in such way that it has ATL::ThrowImpl() inside and some code calling it. I used a static analysis tool - it clearly shows that there're paths on which the old default handler is called. To ensure I even tried to "reimplement" ATL::AtlThrowImpl() in my code. Now the linker says it sees two declarations of ATL::AtlThrowImpl() which I suppose confirms that there's another implementation that can be called by some code. How can I handle this? How do I replace the default handler completely and ensure that the default handler is never called?

    I have some objects which have been created automatically by linq2SQL. I would like to write some code which should be run whenever the properties on these objects are read or changed. Can I use typical get { //code } and set {//code } in my partial class file to add this functionality? Currently I get an error about this member already being defined. This all makes sense. Is it correct that I will have to create a method to function as the entry point for this functionality, as I cannot redefine the get and set methods for this property. I was hoping to just update the get and set, as this would mean I wouldn't have to change all the reference points in my app. But I think I may just have to update it everywhere.

  • How to find specific/local files via CMake

    Hello, I have a problem with a locally installed library. In my project there is the xmlrpc++0.7-library: myproject/ +-- xmlrpc++0.7/ +-- src/ I want that CMake fallbacks using the local xmlrpc++0.7 directory if not found otherwise. Two problems, the first one, find_path() or find_library() does not work with local dir. I used a workaround testing if variables processed by find_xxx() are empty or not. If empty I set them manually. The cmake generates the Makefile without errors now. But if I want to compile the project via make, the c++ compiler returns "error: XmlRpc.h: file not found". The file XmlRpc.h lies in myproject/xmlrpc++0.7/src and if I compile all them manually it works fine. Here is my CMakeLists.txt.     I'd like to print out all prime numbers from an array with method. I can do it with one int but don't know how to return certain numbers from array.   • Is it possible to set properties on a Mock Object in Simpletest

    I normally use getter and setter methods on my objects and I am fine with testing them as mock objects in SimpleTest by manipulating them with code like: Mock::generate('MyObj'); $MockMyObj->setReturnValue('getPropName', 'value') However, I have recently started to use magic interceptors (__set() __get()) and access properties like so: $MyObj->propName = 'blah'; But I am having difficulty making a mock object have a particular property accessed by using that technique. So is there some special way of setting properties on MockObjects. I have tried doing: $MockMyObj->propName = 'test Value'; but this does not seem to work. Not sure if it is my test Subject, Mock, magic Interceptors, or SimpleTest that is causing the property to be unaccessable. Any advice welcome.
