• Uninstall file from Apache Tomcat Web Server

  I have a website deployed on an apache web server. I am using a windows installer to deploy and un-deploy this website from the server. During the uninstall I am just removing the .war from the webapp directory of the tomcat. Now when I do this the tomcat automatically removes all the folders created when it unpacked the war file. But it takes some time to remove those folders. I want to know if there is a way to force tomcat to remove the folder immediately by communicating to it with some external tool eg a script, xml-rpc etc?

  Is it possible to see the content-type of a response to a request in Nginx's log file? At the moment, this is what I see for the request in question: 127.0.0.1 - - [23/Nov/2012:10:17:19 -0500] "GET /fonts/cantarell-bold-webfont.eot? • permission for "users" directory for a mounted vmdk file

  I mounted one vmdk file in my windows 8 machine and I am able to access all the folders and files except those in "users\ directory. When I try to open, it says I dont have permission. I am not able to give the permission even. Any one can tell me how to open the users directory? I have very important files in the desktop folder which can be acessed through \users\\desktop. What is the alternate way of accessing the folder? I lost the password to boot up the vm image.

• Windows 7 File Transfer Speed over Gigabit is slow

  I've got windows 7 pro running on my file server and my main desktop. Each has a gigabit network connection and I'm connected to a gigabit switch. However, when trying to copy some large files, it's running pretty slow at a measly 12-15 MB/s The data is coming from a 7200RPM SATA drive (which I think should be good for almost 150MB/s) and going to a Drobo on the server connected via FireWire 800, so I can't think of any bottlenecks I might have in the hardware. But TeraCopy still says it's only going at 12-15 MB/s What else could be wrong here?

• Search desktop files using a list of keywords stored in a text file

  I have a list of 1285 keywords (database object names) that I have compiled into a TXT file; one keyword per line. I would like to search a directory of files (most have a .aspx or .cs extension) using this list of keywords. My main goal is find out which of the 1285 database objects are being referenced in these files. Can anyone recommend a tool that could accomplish this? Otherwise, I will just create my own. Thanks.

• Vista Startup - Cannot Find the File Specified

  Yesterday I restarted my laptop because my Wi-Fi catcher wasn't working correctly, and when the computer reached the login screen, instead of showing my user account it said "Cannot find the file specified". I rebooted and ran the Startup Repair and Memory Diagnostics but nothing showed up. I also took the battery out for a minute and tried again but still no luck. The weird thing is that I cannot even boot into safe mode, it still shows the same error. I don't remember downloading or opening anything suspicious recently, and I have 3 different cleaners/anti-malware programs as well that I usually run about once a week. I did go into the registry recently but I didn't modify or delete anything as I was only checking to see if I had a certain key in it. I have a Dell laptop running Vista Home Basic SP2. If I have to I can reinstall the OS with the CD or even take it to Best Buy but I'd rather try and fix it first. Thanks.

• php.ini settings change not taking effect for large file uploads

  My server was just reprovisioned, and my application which uploads large (100M+) files now breaks upon re-installation. the symptom is quite consistent : smaller files (8mb in my tests) upload just fine. Larger files cut off at quite close to the same point every time given a particular computer. a file that fails at 26% will fail at just about the same every time. One that takes 1:40s to fail will take within 2 seconds of that every time, before failure. I have set my php.ini settings extravagently : post_max_size = 512M upload_max_filesize = 512M max_input_time = 3600 max_execution_time 3600 Is there possibly a setting at the Apache Level which would override PHP?

  I have systat version 7.0.2 and the /etc/sysconfig/sysstat has the entry HISTORY=27, this is on a redhat enterprise server 5.6, the cron setup for this is # run system activity accounting tool every minute * * * * * root /usr/lib64/sa/sa1 1 1 # generate a daily summary of process accounting at 23:53 53 23 * * * root /usr/lib64/sa/sa2 -A I get the following error from the cron sa2 -A find: /var/log/sa/sa13: No such file or directory, Looking at the directory /var/log/sa the files are created from sa01 through sa10 (sa1 created on sep1, sa2 created on sep2 and so on), then the rest of the files are from sa14 through to sa 31 (created from Aug 14 to Aug 31). I have not made any changes on the server so I am not sure why I am getting these error messages and is there a way to fix this?. Someone suggested creating empty files from sa11 through sa14 to fix this but I am not sure if this might mess up something .

The only way I can imagine is that I add these images to my 2GB collection, then upload the whole collection AGAIN!!! But I'm looking for a way that I can inject only new files without re-uploading the whole collection. So is there any way to do this? any good way or software?

  i have a little question. I have a big html file and want to replace lots of things inside a lot of times. The only problem i cant solve is a replace with a variable. Example: <image src="start_files\0002.jpg" style="width:216pt; height:162"> should be transformed in <a href="start_files\0002.jpg" target="_blank"><image src="start_files\0002.jpg" style="width:216pt; height:162"></a> do you have an idea how to do it? I have a windows system with Notepad2 and Notepad++ and i could install a new tool if needed. (like Windows SED). The best solution would be a batch solution where i can add other transformations. • Is is better to combine Apache for file manipulation and upload and Nginx for static file serving, or to use one of the two alone

  Based on my research, I've read that nginx is best and ideal for serving up static files and images. My application depends heavily on uploading of images and rewriting them, then serving them up. Given that I only have one VPS currently, it has been suggested that I use nginx to serve up the images and website, and reverse proxy to Apache (on the same VPS) to rewrite files with image magick and handle the file uploads. Which would be the best solution, Apache, Nginx, or Apache + Nginx? In terms of best solution, I'm looking at minimal average RAM consumption, while maintaining decent load speed of maybe sub 2 seconds?

• Can't access unprotected .pst file in Outlook 2010

  My father has a Windows 7 x64 system with 32-bit Outlook 2010. He asked me to access his archived mail to get to some old mail. When going to open the file I'm asked for a password (he never applied one) and I get a message saying "password is incorrect. Re-Type password". Since he told me that he never set a password I tried opening the .pst with Nucleus, a tool that allows me to view the .pst's. Does anyone know what the deal is? With the free version of Nucleus we can't view the attachments.

  I get this error when i try to load a VS 2008 project from TFS (Source control) The project file has been moved renamed or not on your computer After i click OK the project says "unavailable". What is the problem? how do i resolve this? i never had this problem before. Some blogs said to delete the .suo file. But i cant locate the .suo file. I deleted the entire project on my local computer so that the next time it opens it will create a new one, but i still get same error. any ideas?

That was almost one year ago and since then Apple introduced 'Document Support' which goes a step further and allows apps to associate with file types. There is a lot of talk in the documentation about how to set up your app to launch other appropriate apps when it encounters an unknown file type. This means the association doesn't work out of the box for any app, like the URL protocol registering did. This leads me to the question: have system apps like Safari or Mail implemented this system for choosing associated applications, or will they do nothing, as before?

I'd rather not make each line its own string with a unique key. In Objective-C, I can create a human-readable multiline string like so: NSString *email = @"Hello %@,\n" "\n" "Check out %@.\n" "\n" "Sincerely,\n" "\n" "%@"; I tried to put that in a .strings file with: "email" = "Hello %@,\n" "\n" "Check out %@.\n" "\n" "Sincerely,\n" "\n" "%@"; But I get the following error at build time: CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): Old-style plist parser: missing semicolon in dictionary. email-template.strings: Unexpected character " at line 1 Command /Developer/Library/Xcode/Plug-ins/CoreBuildTasks.xcplugin/Contents/Resources/copystrings failed with exit code 1 I can concatenate it all together like this: "email" = "Hello %@,\n\nCheck out %@.\n\nSincerely,\n\n%@"; But that will be a mess to maintain, particularly as the email gets longer. Is there a way to do this in a localized strings file? I've already tried adding backslashes at the end of each line, to no avail.

  I'm reading a book that recommends clicking a check box that says "Place code in separate file" when adding a new Web Form to an existing ASP.NET project. The book is using Visual Studio 2005 and there is a check box for "Place code in separate file" when you open the "Add New Item" dialog. I am using Visual Studio 2008 and I do not see the "Place code in separate file" checkbox when I try to add a new item. Is there something I need to do to enable this? Was this functionality no longer possible/important in VS 2008?

I've been searching around for a bit, and I failed to find a way in which I only take the data from the Dataset and put it inside a XML tags, with the tags being defined by an already-existing schema. So it might go like this: 1- Create Dataset and fill its rows with data. 2- Create an XML according to an XML schema rules. 3- Fill said XML file with data from Dataset such that data is taken from the Dataset while structure of the XML file is taken from the XML schema.

  I need some code example on how I would use a filepath from a harddrive location to then play a .wav sound file when opened in swing GUI. I don't need it to show a play button, or pause or stop. I just want it to play when I select the 'Sound' option from my 'Files' in my window (I know how to do that already, no need to explain that). So basically, just how to play a .wav sound file from a filepath (i.e. c:/cake/thereisnone.wav) inside of a JFrame. And how can I easily apply methods to that sound file afterwards. • Create Excel (.XLS and .XLSX) file from C#

  What is the best tool for creating an Excel Spreadsheet with C#. Ideally, I would like open source so I don't have to add any third party dependencies to my code, and I would like to avoid using Excel directly to create the file (using OLE Automation.) The .CSV file solution is easy, and is the current way I am handling this, but I but I would like to control the output formats. EDIT: I am still looking at these to see the best alternative for my solution. Interop will work, but it requires Excel to be on the machine you are using. Also the OLEDB method is intriguing, but may not yield much more than what I can achieve with CSV files. I will look more into the 2003 xml format, but that also puts a Excel 2003 requirement on the file. I am currently looking at a port of the PEAR (PHP library) Excel Writer that will allow some pretty good XLS data and formatting and it is in the Excel_97 compatible format that all modern versions of Excel support. I double click it and VS will open it with kind of design diagram. I can create/delete/modify table here?
