• In Coldfusion, how do I init a component that is located above the current path folder?

  If I have a folder structure that looks like this: / /bin/myComponent.cfc /reports/index.cfm How do I initiate myComponent.cfc from index.cfm? myService = createObject("component", "bin.myComponent"); Using the dot syntax, I know how to go to deeper folders, but how to do I go up a folder, and down into the other folder? Using slash syntax it would be something like this: ../bin/myComponent.cfc But createObject() doesn't work that way. I'd like to keep a relative path so that I can move this folder to another server without breaking the paths. Ideas? Thanks!

  This is a bit hard for me to articulate, but in PHP you can say something like: $myArray['someindex'] = "my string"; and if there is no index named that, it will create/assign the value, and if there IS an index, it will overwrite the existing value. Compare this to Javascript where today I had to do checks like so: if (!myObject[key]) myObject[key] = "value"; I know this may be a bit of a picky point, but is there a name for the ability of PHP (and many other languages) to do these checks on their own as opposed to the more verbose (read: PITA) method of Javascript?

• GAE Datastore: persisting referenced objects

  Two "I'm sorries" to begin with: 1) I've looked for a solution (here, and elsewhere), and couldn't find the answer. 2) English is not my mother tongue, so I may have some typos and the sort - please ignore them. To the point: I am trying to persist Java objects to the GAE datastore. I am not sure as to how to persist object having ("non-trivial") referenced object. That is, assume I have the following. public class Father { String name; int age; Vector<Child> offsprings; //this is what I call "non-trivial" reference //ctor, getters, setters... } public class Child { String name; int age; Father father; //this is what I call "non-trivial" reference //ctor, getters, setters... } The name field is unique in each type domain, and is considered a Primary-Key. In order to persist the "trivial" (String, int) fields, all I need is to add the correct annotation. So far so good. However, I don't understand how should I persist the home-brewed (Child, Father) types referenced. Should I: Convert each such reference to hold the Primary-Key (a name String, in this example) instead of the "actual" object. So, Vector<Child> offsprings; becomes Vector<String> offspringsNames; ? If that is the case, how do I handle the object at run-time? Do I just query for the Primary-Key from Class.getName, to retrieve the refrenced objects? Convert each such reference to hold the actual Key provided to me by the Datastore upon the proper put() operation? So, Vector<Child> offsprings; becomes Vector<Key> offspringsHashKeys; ? I would very much appreciate all kinds of comments. I have read ALL the offical relevant GAE docs/example. Throughout, they always persist "trivial" references, natively supported by the Datastore (e.g. in the Guestbook example, only Strings, and Longs). Many thanks, David

• Fix a box 250px from top of content with wrapping content

  I'm having trouble left aligning a related links div inside a block of text, exactly 250 pixels from the top of a content area, while retaining word wrapping. I attempted to do this with absolute positioning, but the text in the content area doesn't wrap around the content. I would just fix the related links div in the content, however, this will display on an article page, so I would like for it to be done without placing it in a specific location in the content. Is this possible? If so, can someone help me out with the CSS for this? Example image of desired look & feel... UPDATE: For simplicity, I've added example code. • How can Perl interact with an ajax form

  I'm writing a perl program that was doing a simple get command to retrieve results and process them. But the site has been updated and now has a java component that handles the results (so the actual data is not in the source code anymore). This is the site: http://wro.westchesterclerk.com/legalsearch.aspx Try putting in: Index Number: 11103 Year: 2009 I want to be able to pro grammatically enter the "index number" and "year" at the bottom of the form where it says "search by number" and then retrieve the results listed next to it. I've written many programs in Perl that simply pass variables via the URL and the results are listed in the source code, so it's easy to parse. (Using LWP:Simple) Like: $html = get("http://www.url.com?id=$somenum&year=$someyear") But this is totally new to me and I don't know where to begin. I'm somewhat familiar with LWP:UserAgent and Mechanize. I'd really appreciate any help. Thanks!

• jqgrid - edit form field combobox not defaulting to selected row value after first edit

  i am using jqgrid with asp.net-mvc. I have an edit form (using jqmodal) which works great but for some reason one combobox field doesn't default to the current selected row after the first time i bring up the edit form. the weird thing is that i have many other comboboxes which work fine every time and i don't see any real difference. here is an example of the field that doesn't work: { name: "TechOwner", index: "TechOwner", width: 70, editable: true, edittype: "select", editoptions: { dataUrl: "/Person/GetSelectData" }, editrules: { required: true} }, and here is a field that works fine: { name: "FundingType", index: "FundingType", align: "left", width: 25, editable: true, edittype: "select", editoptions: { dataUrl: "/Project/FundingGetSelectData" }, editrules: { required: true} }, the dropdown is getting populated with all options (including the current selected row option) but its just defaulting to the top item) instead of one that matches the current row. is there anything to look out for here that may cause this behavior?

For example RewriteRule ^Flash$ /index.php?section=flash [L,NC] By using this code when i hot domain.com/Flash it redirects me to www.domain.com/index.php? section=flash. This works fine. But now what i want to have two more site with the same htaccess file. So can anyone help me in redirecting the url with same htaccess for multiple site. Can i find the base url and redirect depending on that??

I would like to copy some substring of that line in to a map as below: std::map< DWORD, std::string > my_map; DWORD index; // populated with some data char buffer[ 1024 ]; // populated with some data char* element_begin; // points to some location in buffer char* element_end; // points to some location in buffer > element_begin my_map.insert( std::make_pair( index, std::string( element_begin, element_end ) ) ); This std::map<>::insert() operation takes a long time (It doubles the file parsing time). • Escaping ampersands in URLs for HttpClient requests

  So I've got some Java code that uses Jakarta HttpClient like this: URI aURI = new URI( "http://host/index.php?title=" + title + "&action=edit" ); GetMethod aRequest = new GetMethod( aURI.getEscapedPathQuery()); The problem is that if title includes any ampersands (&), they're considered parameter delimiters and the request goes screwy... and if I replace them with the URL-escaped equivalent %26, then this gets double-escaped by getEscapedPathQuery() into %2526. I'm currently working around this by basically repairing the damage afterward: URI aURI = new URI( "http://host/index.php?title=" + title.replace("&", "%26") + "&action=edit" ); GetMethod aRequest = new GetMethod( aURI.getEscapedPathQuery().replace("%2526", "%26")); But there has to be a nicer way to do this, right? Note that the title can contain any number of unpredictable UTF-8 chars etc, so escaping everything else is a requirement.

  I have some XML/TEI documents, and i'm writing an XSLT 2.0 to extract their content. Almost all TEI documents has no namespace, but one has the default namespace (xmlns="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0"). So all documents has the same aspect, with unqulified tags like <TEI> or <teiHeader>, but if I try to extract the content, all works with "non-namespaced-documents", but nothing (of course) is extracted from the namespaced-document. So i used the attribute xpath-default-namespace="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" and now (of course) the only document working is the namespaced one. I can't edit documents at all, so what I'm asking is if there's a way to change dynamically the xpath-default-namespace in order to make work xpaths like //teiHeader both with namespaced and non-namespaced documents

  I have two textbox's. I have an event setup for the "onLostFocus" of the textbox's. If i finish typing a word into both boxes one after the other all is well. At the point where i click back on the first textbox i want to click halfway through the word (perfectly resonable thing for a user to do). When the onLostFocus event fires here is my code : void tbox_LostFocus(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { IInputElement focusedelement = FocusManager.GetFocusedElement(this); if (focusedelement is TextBox) { TextBox focusedTextBox = focusedelement as TextBox; int focusIndex = m_commandsStacker.Children.IndexOf(focusedTextBox); int caretIndex = focusedTextBox.CaretIndex; The caret index is 0. At that point I refresh the whole form and set parameters and all other kinds of whizzery, storing the texbox index and caret position to put everything back the same. Why does it return 0 and not the position where the caret should be halfway between the word?

  In CodeIgniter I'm using a base CRUD My_model, but I have this small problem in my browse-controller.. My $data['posts'] gets all posts from the table called "posts". Though the author in that table is just a user_id, which is why I need to use my "getusername" function (gets the username from a ID - the ID) to grab the username from the users table. Though I don't know how to proceed from here, since it is not just one post. Therefore I need the username to either be a part of the $data['posts'] array or some other smart solution.   Hi, i'm trying to do some kind of Gallery-Turn Over Script with jQuery. Therefor i got an array with - let's say 13 - images: galleryImages = new Array( 'images/tb_01.jpg', 'images/tb_02.jpg', 'images/tb_03.jpg', 'images/tb_04.jpg', 'images/tb_05.jpg', 'images/tb_06.jpg', 'images/tb_07.jpg', 'images/tb_08.jpg', 'images/tb_09.jpg', 'images/tb_10.jpg', 'images/tb_11.jpg', 'images/tb_12.jpg', 'images/tb_13.jpg' ); My gallery looks like a grid showing only 9 images at once. My current script already counts the number of li-elements in #gallery, loads the first 9 images and displays them.   Hi, I am new to php. I thought I knew enough but apparently do not. I am trying to use the OAuth.php from code.google.com. So I include OAuth.php in my code. Here is my php file - index.php <?php print 'Hello1'; include 'test.php'; print 'Hello2'; include 'OAuth.php'; print 'Hello3'; ?> Here test.php, OAuth.php and index.php are all in the same directory. Amazingly enough, I see Hello1 and Hello2 but not Hello3. What am I missing. Its driving me crazy. Any help is greatly greatly appreciated. I am using php5 with apache 2.2 and also have the oauth.so module installed and loaded from php.net. SV

  I'm having hard time getting my head wrapped around this one - and it should be trivial. I would like to redirect one URL with a specific query string to another URL. I want to send any requests that contain the query string in the URL http://mysite.com/index.php?option=com_user&view=register To: http://mysite.com/index.php?option=com_regme&view=form&regme=4&random=0&Itemid=6 If they add anything to the end of the first URL, it should still go to the second URL so that they cannot bypass the redirection. Nothing in the first query string needs to be preserved and passed to the second - all I want to do is change the URL completely. I'm tearing my hair out trying to get this to work yet it should be trivial. Suggestions? Thanks, -Tim
