  • Xcache - No different after using it

    Hi I have installed Xcache in my site(using xampp), I have tested more then 10 times on several page and the result is same as default(no any cache installed), is it something wrong with the configure?   • Try-Catch or Check Length? C# XNA

    I was just wondering which would be cheaper, using a try catch block for index out of bounds or checking the length of a multi dimensional array and comparing values? I have a feeling it's the length, since I can store the length in a variable and then just do if's which are relatively cheap. I'm just not sure how expensive try-catch is. Thanks!

    I have a problem with TextView and autoLink feature. I have an about screen in my application with some information like support phone number, email address, website URL and application version in form like 01.01.01 After setting autoLink="all" on the textView, all values are linked fine - except that version number 01.01.01 is linked as the phone number as well. Is there some way to exclude this text fragment from linkifing?

It doesn't help me a function that receives by reference an array of values nor a function that takes its arguments wrapped in an object because I'm working on function composition and argument binding. Don't think about call-time pass-by-reference either. That thing shouldn't even exist.

I can get access to a CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.ChartObject but can't find any API there to access which type of chart it is - "for each" or "for all".

  • mysql_connect() causes page to not display (WAMP)

    I currently have a website running MySQL and PHP in which this is all working. I've tried installing WAMPServer to be able to work on the site on my own computer, but I have been having issues trying to get the site to work correctly. HTML and PHP files work correctly (by going to http://localhost/index.php, etc.). But some of the pages display "This Webpage is not available" (in Chrome) or "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage", which leads me to think there is an error is the server, as when the page doesn't exist, it typically dispays "Oops! This link appears to be broken" or IE's standard 404 page. Each page in my site has an include() call to set up an instance of a class to handle all database transactions. This class opens the connection to the database in its constructor. I have found commenting out the contents of the constructor will allow the page to load, although this understandably causes errors later in the page. This is the contents of the included file: class dbAccess { private $db; function __construct() { $this->db = mysql_connect("externalURL","user","password") or die ("Connection for database not found."); mysql_select_db("dbName", $this->db) or die ("Database not selected"); } ... } As a note for what's happening here. I'm attempting to use the database on my site, rather than the local machine. The actual values of externalURL, dbName, user, and password work when I plug them into my database software and the file fine of the site, so I don't think the issue is with those values themselves, but rather some setting with Apache or Wamp. The issue persists if I try a local database as well. For the first line, isLoggedIn (from the first line) is a method of the class above. Assuming that the connection works, this error should disappear. I've tried searching for solutions online, but haven't been able to find anything to help. If you need any further information to help solve this issue, feel free to ask for it. (One more note, I don't even have Skype on this computer, so I can't see it being an issue, as this conflict seems to be the default response for any Wamp issue.)   • Is there an easy way to compare if 2 XDocuments are equal ignoring element/attribute order?

    Unit testing my serialization code I found one failed because I had attributes listed in a different order (I'm just comparing the XDocument.ToString() values) and while I could fix that, it really doesn't matter to me in what order the elements or attributes appear as long as they're all there with the right name at the right level of hierarchy. I could probably write a method do this, but I'm wondering if there's an easy built in way I'm not aware of.

And I was thinking it might be a good idea to sum up the unicode values for the first five characters in the string (assuming it has five, otherwise stop where it ends). Would that be a good idea, or is it a bad one? I am doing this in Java, but I wouldn't imagine that would make much of a difference.

  • Adding objects to an NSMutableArray, order seems odd when parsing from an XML file

    Hello: I am parsing an XML file for two elements: "title" and "noType". Once these are parsed, I am adding them to an object called aMaster, an instance of my own Master class that contains NSString variables. I am then adding these instances to an NSMutableArray on a singleton, in order to call them elsewhere in the program. The problem is that when I call them, they don't seem to be on the same NSMutableArray index... each index contains either the title OR the noType element, when it should be both... can anyone see what I may be doing wrong?
