• Whats up with cross site Scripting (getJSON) and flickr example

  In past i had read the documentation about getJSON and there is an example with a flickr photo api. (the example with the [pussy]cats :-)). No I ask myself why is it possible, to access flickr directly with this example. Ive tried this by store this code on my local machine - it works but if I use a local copy of jquery i just get an error in firebug like this $ is not defined myurl/test.html Line 11 Does anybody of you have a solution for this paradox thing? This is the documentation url HTTP:api.jquery.com/jQuery.getJSON/ The example isn´t also not working if I store the HTTP:code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js in my local jquery file. • Extracting data from multiple servers SQL 2005 SSIS

  I have created an SSIS package to connect to multiple SQL servers, create a database, a table and a stored procedure. The package also creates a job and schedules it to run every 5 minutes. The requirement is to collect performance metrics. I am using an ado object variable to get the server names and all the above tasks are in a for each loop and everything works fine. Now the problem: I need to create a data flow task, which will connect to each of these servers in turn, copy the performance metrics data over to a central server and purge the source table. I am unable to get this task to work. This task fails with "Unable to obtain Connection" error. Any help will be greatly appreciated. SQL Server Version : 2005 Thanks, Raj

• Font Times New Roman 11,25 Regular is not supported in telerik reporting.

  Hi all.. I'm having some trouble exporting to PDF in Telerik Reporting Q2 2008. It seems that for some reason, exporting to PDF ( or printing, which is the same, it first exports to PDF, and then prints ), is giving me this error. First it started with Arial, I found the bug with the font Arial, replaced the textbox with Times New Roman, and it keeps on giving me this error. The strange thing, is that this only happens on the production server ( Windows Server 2008 ), on my development machine, this works flawlessly, I even tried to copy the fonts from my windows font folder, to my production server, but that didn't help anything... Does someone know what is happening? EDIT: Problem solved...a server reboot solved the problem instantly, unfortunately at the time I posted this question I couldn't do a server restart, later that day ( at night ) my boss restarted the server and all was good again.. Thanks all..

• how to optimize illustrator artwork in flash?

  I'm working on a flash project that incorporates a lot of artwork done in Illustrator CS4. I've been copy-pasting directly from Illustrator into Flash, and I add some animations as well. Final file is going to be a one single swf file which will be a part of UI for an application and .net will be the core for this. But now flash becomes unusable slow to respond for actions. My machine is a fast i7 with 6gb of RAM, so I don't think that's the issue. We are going to use this file with dual core atom processors. Does anyone have ideas for alternative importing techniques, optimizations within illustrator, anything at all that will make this more manageable? Thanks

• What is the correct way to backup ZODB blobs?

  I am using plone.app.blob to store large ZODB objects in a blobstorage directory. This reduces size pressure on Data.fs but I have not been able to find any advice on backing up this data. I am already backing up Data.fs by pointing a network backup tool at a directory of repozo backups. Should I simply point that tool at the blobstorage directory to backup my blobs? What if the database is being repacked or blobs are being added and deleted while the copy is taking place? Are there files in the blobstorage directory that must be copied over in a certain order?

• How to get SVN to ignore a directory inside an externals definition

  I'm using subversion to host my own repository for a WordPress installation. I've got it set up so that all of the core WordPress files are in their own directory (called wordpress) and set up to use svn:externals to link to the WordPress repository. I then have my own copy of the wp-content directory (located outside of the wordpress directory) which does not use svn:externals. This is all working fine. When I update my repository, the WordPress core gets updated. Since the WordPress repository contains it's own wp-content directory, it also updates that directory. So my file structure ends up looking something like this: / --/wordpress/ (wordpress repo) -----/wp-admin/ -----/wp-content/ --/wp-content/ (my local repo) I end up having two separate versions of the wp-content folder (one from my repo and one from the WordPress repo). I don't want the one from the WordPress repo (or at least not in that location). Is there a way for me to set svn to ignore the wordpress/wp-content directory while still using externals definition?

• How can I prevent IIS from trying to load a dll?

  My project is a Speech Server application using Windows Workflow. It runs as an app under IIS. It supports a plug-in system. Here is what is happening: Load DLL into memory and set the type on an InvokeWorkflow control. When the InvokeWorkflow control runs, it appears to correctly instantiate the workflow from the loaded assembly - it completes the Initialize method. Everything crashes an burns, the target workflow is never executed. I can resolve this by putting a copy of the DLL in the application's executing directory. The workflow then executes correctly So it appears that IIS is trying to reload the assembly, even though its already in memory. Is there anyway to alter or disable this behavior in IIS? Perhaps a hook I can write that will intercept the request to load the dll and use my own logic to do so?

  Hello, I write a component which should store some information relative to the project directory. Every time a property of my component is changed it should write a file. So how can a component determine the current project directory at design time. Thanks in advance EDIT: I want to generate a delphi source file every time a property of my component is changed, so that I always get the latest version when I compile my code. Think of it as a kind of code generator. At the moment I set whole path and filename where the source should be stored but I prefer a relative path to the project (or the form/datamodule which contains my component) to make it easier to copy the project on different developer machines.

I currently just copy FooDelegate implementation code from Bar1 to Bar2. • Splitting up/merging windows in WPF

  I'm new to WPF but I need to implement following functionality: I have a window that contains one Grid (might be changed to stack panel or something else). In that Grid I have 2 columns, each of them contains another Grid. Lets call them gridFirst and gridSecond. There is also GridSplitter in first column allowing to resize the columns. I want to provide a button that will allow to separate gridFirst from this window and display it "as it is" in another window. How do I do that? It would be nice if the new window had a same menu as the original window without me having to copy-paste (that not a good coding practise) all its code to the new window. Thanks for answers

  Scenario, simplified for brevity: A developer creates an application for a customer. The customer sells this app to end-users. The app requires a license key to run, and this key is generated by the customer for each end-user with a simple tool created by the developer. The license key contains an expiry date for the license and is encrypted so the end-user can’t tamper with it. The problem here is that the developer (or anybody who has a copy of the license key generator) can easily create valid license keys. Should this generator fall into the wrong hands, it could spell disaster for the customers business. Ideally, the customer would have to use a password to create new license keys. And this password would be unknown to the developer, and somehow baked into the decryption algorithm in the application so it will fail if an attempt to use an unauthorized key is made. How would you implement a solution for this problem that is both transparent and secure?

  My application installs my Firefox add-on (by copying an my.xpi to [FF_inst_dir]\extensions). This application interact with my FF add-on. This application periodically has updates (.xpi with new version). When my application is updating it does next: Remove folder and content [FF_inst_dir]\extensions\MyExtension Copy new my.xpi to [FF_inst_dir]\extensions However, when I restart FF I see: FF ask me about install add-on. I agree. FF remove my.xpi (it's ok) FF remove folder and content [FF_inst_dir]\extensions\MyExtension I think that FF try to remove old plugin. Thus, I havn't installed plugin. How it can be installed correct?

• Rake tasks in other files

  Im trying to use rake in a project, and if I put everything into Rakefile it will be huge and hard to read/find things, so I tried to stick each namesapce in its own file in lib/rake, i added this to the top of my rake file: Dir['#{File.dirname(__FILE__)}/lib/rake/*.rake'].map { |f| require f } it loads the file no problem, but doesn't have the tasks. I only have one .rake file as a test for now called "servers.rake" and it looks like this: namespace :server do task :test do puts "test" end end so when I run rake server:test id expect to see one line appear saying "test", instead I get rake aborted! Don't know how to build task 'server:test' at first I thought my codes wrong but if I copy the contents of lib/rake/servers.rake into Rakefile it works fine. How do I get rake tasks to work that are in another file?

  Hi, I am trying to use an Entity Framework Model (in separate project) into an asp.net 4 MVC project (VS2010, C#) If I create the EF inside the MVC project I have no problems. I think I am missing some step. things done: 1. added reference to the EF class project 2. added connection string in MVC web.config 3. added reference to System.Data.Entity in both web.config and project references Now i can use the model only if I copy the .edmx file to the Models folder, but in this way the EF project is not external anymore. (Not to say I don't have any other copy of the document) While formatting (as a try) I applied the style "Apply Style to Body to match selection". This caused the document to go totally in a wronfg format - having numbers even in tables. Have you ever faced this? Could you please tell how to correct it? • Global Ignores for SVN?

  Is there a way to setup a global list of Ignores for a SVN Repository or for the SVN Client on the PC? The only reason I'm using tools like Tortoise/Ankh/VisualSVN is because I want to only check in the files I need without all the bin/obj/Resharper stuff. I'm spoiled by .gitignore and .hgignore which I just copy to a repository and then use "git commit -a" without having to care about checking in junk. I know I can manually set it, but that's tedious to do and I think it had to be applied to every new folder that gets created as well. Using SVN under Windows if that matters

• SVN: is it possible to delete a branch that was copied removed etc for good?

  I have to remove a branch from svn history for good. Normally I would use svnadmin dump /path/to/repo |svndumpfilter --drop-empty-revs --renumber-revs exclude /branches/bad_branch However this branch was not just created, but also moved and then removed and dump script fails to process downstream information with messages like: Invalid copy source path '/branches/bad_branch' So I imagine 2 ways to cope with the problem keep only last few revisions of the history and put current repository as an archive on the web make a dump up to the revision where the 'bad_branch' was created and apply the rest of the changes as a patch, therefore losing history of a few recent commits. Is there a better, cleaner way to deal with this?

• A JTAG emulator for use with a Hawkboard and OpenOCD?

  I'd like to try bare metal ARM programming with the Hawkboard, but the deployment process looks awful. I'm totally new to this, so I could be misunderstanding the instructions, but it appears that I have to use a program called AISgen to convert the binary file, then boot with u-Boot over UART and copy the AIS binary into memory. Not only is that a lot of stuff to do every time I make a change, it also doesn't give me the ability to debug with GDB. The best solution for this that I can find is JTAG. But the prices for these JTAG emulators look ridiculous. I'm not even sure which ones will work with the Hawkboard and which ones won't. So far, my best bet appears to be the Flyswatter, but the pin layout is different. Basically, I need something that's relatively cheap and works with the Hawkboard and OpenOCD. Any suggestions? Or is there another way I could do this, perhaps?

• Java program strange behavior, how to fix it ?

  My notebook has Intel CPU, running Windows Vista. My program looks like this : public class Tool_Lib_Simple { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("123"); } } When I run it, I expect to see : "123", but the output was : "Hi NM : How are you NM ?" which was the old output from two days ago before I changed my program. If I copy this program into another project in Netbean 6.7, it will run correctly and output "123", and if I change the program name from "Tool_Lib_Simple" to something else, it will also output "123", but just not under the name of "Tool_Lib_Simple" in the current project's src directory, I've deleted the "build" directory and did re-compile, re-build, it still gives me "Hi NM : How are you NM ?" as a result, seems to me the old version of my program is saved in the hard drive or ram and got stuck there, I've programmed many years, hardly ever encounter this kind of problem, how to fix this ?   I have few web applications run on the Tomcat server. Each application contains its own log4j library copy inside its own war. This allows for separate, flexible logging configuration per application. I also have few shared libraries (kept in Tomcat's shared libraries directory). I would like to have shared library loggers output among with the application (which uses them) loggers output (for example: if application A logs to file a.log, and uses library b.jar, I would like b.jar to log also to the a.log file). The problem is, that the shared libraries are loaded by the shared classloader, which causes that they can't access loggers defined by the applications. Is there any solution for this issue?

  After looking up the advantages and disadvantages of using Google's AJAX Libraries API instead of using jQuery locally, I saw that someone wrote in an answer (here on Stack Overflow, of course) that it's possible to get around the downtime that Google's API sometimes experiences by somehow falling back to a local copy of the library you use. I want to use Google's AJAX Libraries API on my site, but I'm concerned about this possible downtime and I'm curious how such a fallback procedure can be implemented. • Temporarily save Word document changes

  Hi I'm using Interop to create a "custom word editor", basically I've incorporated MS Word on my application and I allow users to edit a document and insert custom fields from a predefined list. I provide a "Preview" option to see how the document will appear when the data is added. The users can start editing a template on my application, and at any time they can hit preview and the preview should appear with the latest changes. I want the user to be able to preview the document without saving the changes, the problem is that when I invoke SaveAs() on the document (to create a temp file that I can use as the input for the preview generator), the editor opens the temp document. Is there a way to save a copy of the document being edited but keep the original (open) document with its changes unsaved? Thanks a lot
