  I have two young kids who have gotten rather computer saavy. They love playing their games, especially when it allows them to print out awards or coloring pages. Unfortunately this means that in the time it takes to refresh my cup of coffee, they can easily drop a 10 page document into the printer queue, and my printer ink runs out rather fast. How would I setup some kind of password protection on the printing, so that I would have to do some kind of final approval before they get their printouts?

  I am looking for a solution for copying all the files from a specific directory on the hard drive, to a specific directory on a USB memory device, once this device is connected. I have a program that downloads podcast episodes for me. I would like these files to be automatically moved (or at least copied) to my mp3 player once I connect it to the computer. I have both windows xp and linux machines, so a solution for any of them will work for me.

In fact I had tree partitions (system, home, swap) but the installator crashed so I restarted the installation and it has installed everything in the system partition. So now I separated the home in the appropriate partition but I've two swap partitions. How can I delete one ? If I delete one, how will it go ?

• Configure server on network to analyze traffic

  I have the following network: http://i.stack.imgur.com/rapkH.jpg I want to send all the traffic from the devices that connect to the 192.168.0.1 router to the 192.168.10.1 router(and eventually to the Internet), by passing through the server and an additional router. Almost 2 days have passed and I can't figure what is wrong. While searching on the Internet for some similar configuration I found some articles that are somehow related to my needs, but the proposed solutions don't seem to work for me. This is a similar article: iptables forwarding between two interface I done the following steps for the configuration process: Set static IP address 192.168.1.90 for the eth0 on the server from the 192.168.1.1 router Set static IP address 192.168.0.90 for the eth1 on the server from the 192.168.0.1 router Forwarded all the traffic from 192.168.0.1 router to the server on eth1 interface witch seems to be working. The router firmware has some option to redirect all the traffic from all the ports to a specified address. Added the following rules on the server(Only the following, there aren't any additional rules): iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth1 -j MASQUERADE iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -m state -–state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT iptables -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o eth1 -j ACCEPT I also tried changing iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -m state -–state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT into iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT but still is not working. After adding the following to enable the packet forwarding for the server that is running CentOS: echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 After a server restart and extra an extra check to see that all the configuration from above are still available I tried to see again if I can ping from a computer connected to 192.168.0.1/24 LAN the router from 192.168.1.1 but it didn't worked. The server has tshark(console wireshark) installed and I found that while sending a ping from a computer connected to 192.168.0.1 router to 192.168.1.1 the 192.168.0.90(eth1) receives the ping but it doesn't forward it to the eth0 interface as the rule tells: iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -j ACCEPT and don't now why this is happening. Questions: The iptables seem that don't work as I am expecting. Is there a need to add in the NAT table from iptables rules to redirect the traffic to the proper location, or is something else wrong with what I've done? I want to use tshark to view the traffic on the server because I think that is the best at doing this. Do you know something better that tshark to capture the traffic and maybe analyze it?

  Does anyone know where to find various arguments for msi's, such as installing/running as administrator, or restart after installation. I am trying to push out an msi update through group policy, but after testing the msi I found out that it needs to be run as administrator to install, and that for it to begin working fully the computer needs to be rebooted.   Is that dangerous : for the computer (without the battery) for the cells If possible, explain why. Edit : Here are some more assumptions : Without the battery included, there is no risk of overheating the cell, or over charging them. But there is still some dc to dc conversion taking place on the motherboard. I assume this dc to dc stage to be quite tolerant. What kind of trouble can I run into when using 20V instead of 19V ? Overheating ?

• Wallpaper in Windows 7 locked down by domain group policy?

  So I am in a situation where my wallpaper is locked to a specific image on my work computer via group policy. I can't change it via the Personalization settings since it is grayed out and says it has been set by the system administrator. Anyone know some local GPO and/or registry hackery I can do to override the domain's policy?   A while back I set my computer up to sync folders on a shared network drive. I didn't choose my folders carefully and ended up with a huge amount of files to sync, which took forever. I would like to stop sync on those folders, then later select some smaller subfolders to sync. I believe this means I first must delete the existing sync partnerships, but there is no "Delete" option when I list them in Sync Center. How can I delete existing sync partnerships?

• Can you password protect access to a directory (to local and networked PCs) in Windows XP Pro?

  I could just compress the directory as a .zip file w/ a password (which I think would just look like a compressed folder w/ a password) but I'd like something with less overhead (i.e., none of the decompression, etc.) Any ideas? Clarification/update: I'd like to have anyone be able to access it from another computer if they know the password. I.e., I don't want them to have to log in as a different user, etc., but, rather just enter a password.
