    I have been using CouchDB on some prototype applications and it has been brilliant, very easy to use and extremely quick. I was wondering if anyone has been using it in production and have any views on it's reliability, performance suitability for operational management etc ?? I am considering using it to support a service layer and would make use of its replication functionality. Any comments/experiences would be most welcome.

    I keep reading about defficiencies and issues with languages. Specifically, I'm learning PHP and Javascript, but I see it everywhere. This question arose while reading Javascript: The Good Parts and PHP Objects, Patterns and Practice. While understanding and avoiding easy pitfalls, is there a way I can learn the fundamentals of OOP and discover solid programming practices without overlooking important areas (or simply becoming jaded)? I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunity to learn from mistakes!

    Hi, In Python script,for every method definition in some C++ code of the form: return_value ClassName::MethodName(args) {MehodBody} ,I need to extract three parts: the class name, the method name and the method body for further processing. Finding and extracting the ClassName and MethodName is easy, but is there any simple way to extract the body of the method? With all possible '{' and '}' inside it? Or are regexes unsuitable for such task?

    I know how to do it mathematically, but i want it now to do it in c++ using some easy algorithm. Is is possible? The question is that i need some methods/ideas for writing a number N in base M, for example 1410 in base 3: (14)10 = 2*(3^0) + 1*(3^1) + 1*(3^2) = (112)3 etc.

  • Creating multiple objects of a view defined in the xml

    I have to dynamically add a list of views (the views use RelativeLayout). Can I do this by specifying the view definition in xml and instantiate multiple objects off it? This gives the usual benefits of separating the view part from the code (for e.g., making it easy for the UI guys to alter things) or Is going the ArrayAdapter the suggested/only route?

    I am willing to build an email application which runs on the server side. Not being familiar with any particular server I wonder if I can get some recommendations based on experience. I have seen many great startups which built some neat apps on the email platform (for instance, friendfeed's notification mechanism, or surely posterous which mail is at the heart of their business logic), and wonder about which mail server have they found easy to learn and integrate with.     Maybe it's just too late for me to do this, but I'm trying to replace a character between 2 string with regex in PHP. Example string: other | text [tag]text|more text|and more[/tag] end | text My goal is to replace | with <br/> between [tag] and [/tag].     I am trying to download a list of files from a ftp server using: NSURL *ftpUrl = [NSURL URLWithString:@"ftp://xxx:[email protected]"]; I HAVE to use FTP, so please do not recommend an alternative. I want to know how to get the list of files from the root directory and also navigate inside folders (of FTP server). P.S: I do not think external library would be required to accomplish such an easy task, but if I must, any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank You :)
