• Associations and the Grails webflow

- by callie16
Hi, it's my first time using webflows in Grails and I can't seem to solve this. I have 3 domain classes with associations that look something like this: class A { ... static hasMany = [ b : B ] ... } class B { ... static belongsTo = [ a : A ] static hasMany = [ c : C ] ... } class C { ... static belongsTo = [ b : B ] ... } Now, the GSP communicates with the controller via Javascript (due to my use of Dojo). When I try to remoteFunction a normal action, I can do something like this: def action1 = { def anId = params.id def currA = A.get(anId) def sample = currA.b?.c // I can get all the way to 'c' without any problems ... } However, I have a webflow and the contents of that action is in the webflow... It looks something like this: def someFlow = { ... someState { on("next") { def anId = params.id // this does NOT return a null value def currA = A.get(anId) // this does NOT return a null value def sample = currA.b // error already occurs here and I need to get 'c'! }.("somePage") ... } ... } In this case, it tells me that b doesn't exist... so I can't even get to 'c'. Any suggestions on what to do??? Thanks... getting real desperate...

• GCC - How to realign stack?

- by psihodelia
I try to build an application which uses pthreads and __m128 SSE type. According to GCC manual, default stack alignment is 16 bytes. In order to use __m128, the requirement is the 16-byte alignment. My target CPU supports SSE. I use a GCC compiler which doesn't support runtime stack realignment (e.g. -mstackrealign). I cannot use any other GCC compiler version. My test application looks like: #include <xmmintrin.h> #include <pthread.h> void *f(void *x){ __m128 y; ... } int main(void){ pthread_t p; pthread_create(&p, NULL, f, NULL); } The application generates an exception and exits. After a simple debugging (printf "%p", &y), I found that the variable y is not 16-byte aligned. My question is: how can I realign the stack properly (16-byte) without using any GCC flags and attributes (they don't help)? Should I use GCC inline Assembler within this thread function f()?

• Mac OS X linker error in Qt; CoreGraphics & CGWindowListCreate

- by Jake Petroules
Here is my .mm file #include "windowmanagerutils.h" #ifdef Q_OS_MAC #import </System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/CoreGraphics.framework/Headers/CGWindow.h> QRect WindowManagerUtils::getWindowRect(WId windowId) { CFArrayRef windows = CGWindowListCreate(kCGWindowListOptionOnScreenOnly, kCGNullWindowID); return QRect(); } QRect WindowManagerUtils::getClientRect(WId windowId) { return QRect(); } QString WindowManagerUtils::getWindowText(WId windowId) { return QString(); } WId WindowManagerUtils::rootWindow() { QApplication::desktop()->winId(); } WId WindowManagerUtils::windowFromPoint(const QPoint &p, WId parent, bool(*filterFunction)(WId)) { return NULL; } void WindowManagerUtils::setTopMostCarbon(const QWidget *const window, bool topMost) { if (!window) { return; } // Find a Cocoa equivalent for this Carbon function // [DllImport("/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/Current/Carbon")] // OSStatus ret = HIViewSetZOrder(this->winId(), kHIViewZOrderAbove, NULL); } #endif The linker is telling me "_CGWindowListCreate" is undefined. What libraries must I link to? Apple's documentation is not very helpful on telling what to include or link to, like MSDN is. Also I couldn't just do #import <CGWindow.h>, I had to specify the absolute path to it... any way around that?

• Is it possible to read data that has been separately copied to the Android sd card without having ro

- by icecream
I am developing an application that needs to access data on the sd card. When I run on my development device (an odroid with Android 2.1) I have root access and can construct the path using: File sdcard = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory(); String path = sdcard.getAbsolutePath() + File.separator + "mydata" File data = new File(path); File[] files = data.listFiles(new FilenameFilter() { @Override public boolean accept(File dir, String filename) { return filename.toLowerCase().endsWith(".xyz"); }}); However, when I install this on a phone (2.1) where I do not have root access I get files == null. I assume this is because I do not have the right permissions to read the data from the sd card. I also get files == null when just trying to list files on /sdcard. So the same applies without my constructed path. Also, this app is not intended to be distributed through the app store and is needs to use data copied separately to the sd card so this is a real use-case. It is too much data to put in res/raw (I have tried, it did not work). I have also tried adding: <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" /> to the manifest, even though I only want to read the sd card, but it did not help. I have not found a permission type for reading the storage. There is probably a correct way to do this, but I haven't been able to find it. Any hints would be useful.

• iPhone: contentInset isn't animating

- by Cuzog
In my app, I have a table view. When the user clicks a button, a UIView overlays part of that table view. It's essentially a partial modal. That table view is intentionally still scrollable while that modal is active. To allow the user to scroll to the bottom of the table view, I change the contentInset and scrollIndicatorInsets values to adjust for the smaller area above the modal. When the modal is taken away, I reset those inset values. The problem is that when the user has scrolled to the bottom of the newly adjusted inset and then dismisses the modal, the table view jumps abruptly to a new scroll position because the inset is changed instantly. I would like to animate it so there is a transition, but the beginAnimation/commitAnimations methods aren't affecting it for some reason. Any ideas as to why the values aren't getting animated? Any help is greatly appreciated! The relevant code from the table view controller is here: - (void)viewDidLoad { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(modalOpened) name:@"ModalStartedOpening" object:nil]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(modalDismissed) name:@"ModalStartedClosing" object:nil]; [super viewDidLoad]; } - (void)modalOpened { [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; self.tableView.contentInset = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 201, 0); self.tableView.scrollIndicatorInsets = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 201, 0); [UIView commitAnimations]; } - (void)modalDismissed { [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:0.5]; [UIView setAnimationDelegate:self]; self.tableView.contentInset = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 0, 0); self.tableView.scrollIndicatorInsets = UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 0, 0); [UIView commitAnimations]; }

• nhibernate error recovery

- by Berryl
I downloaded Rhino Security today and started going through some of the tests. Several that run perfectly in isolation start getting errors after one that purposely raises an exception runs though. Here is that test: [Test] public void EntitesGroup_CanCreate() { var group = _authorizationRepository.CreateEntitiesGroup("Accounts"); _session.Flush(); _session.Evict(group); var fromDb = _session.Get<EntitiesGroup>(group.Id); Assert.NotNull(fromDb); Assert.That(fromDb.Name, Is.EqualTo(group.Name)); } And here are the tests and error messages that fail: [Test] public void User_CanSave() { var ayende = new User {Name = "ayende"}; _session.Save(ayende); _session.Flush(); _session.Evict(ayende); var fromDb = _session.Get<User>(ayende.Id); Assert.That(fromDb, Is.Not.Null); Assert.That(ayende.Name, Is.EqualTo(fromDb.Name)); } ----> System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException : Abort due to constraint violation column Name is not unique [Test] public void UsersGroup_CanCreate() { var group = _authorizationRepository.CreateUsersGroup("Admininstrators"); _session.Flush(); _session.Evict(group); var fromDb = _session.Get<UsersGroup>(group.Id); Assert.NotNull(fromDb); Assert.That(fromDb.Name, Is.EqualTo(group.Name)); } failed: NHibernate.AssertionFailure : null id in Rhino.Security.Tests.User entry (don't flush the Session after an exception occurs) Does anyone see how I can reset the state of the in memory SQLite db after the first test? I changed the code to use nunit instead of xunit so maybe that is part of the problem here as well. Cheers, Berryl

• Java resource closing

- by Bob
Hi, I'm writing an app that connect to a website and read one line from it. I do it like this: try{ URLConnection connection = new URL("www.example.com").openConnection(); BufferedReader rd = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(connection.getInputStream())); String response = rd.readLine(); rd.close(); }catch (Exception e) { //exception handling } Is it good? I mean, I close the BufferedReader in the last line, but I do not close the InputStreamReader. Should I create a standalone InputStreamReader from the connection.getInputStream, and a BufferedReader from the standalone InputStreamReader, than close all the two readers? I think it will be better to place the closing methods in the finally block like this: InputStreamReader isr = null; BufferedReader br = null; try{ URLConnection connection = new URL("www.example.com").openConnection(); isr = new InputStreamReader(connection.getInputStream()); br = new BufferedReader(isr); String response = br.readLine(); }catch (Exception e) { //exception handling }finally{ br.close(); isr.close(); } But it is ugly, because the closing methods can throw exception, so I have to handle or throw it. Which solution is better? Or what would be the best solution?

• How I shoud use BIT in MS SQL 2005

- by adopilot
Regarding to SQL performance. I have Scalar-Valued function for checking some specific condition in base, It returns BIT value True or False, I now do not know how I should fill @BIT parameter If I write. set @bit = convert(bit,1) or set @bit = 1 or set @bit='true' Function will work anyway but I do not know which method is recommended for daily use. Another Question, I have table in my base with around 4 million records, Daily insert is about 4K records in that table. Now I want to add CONSTRAINT on that table whit scalar valued function that I mentioned already Something like this ALTER TABLE fin_stavke ADD CONSTRAINT fin_stavke_knjizenje CHECK ( dbo.fn_ado_chk_fin(id)=convert(bit,1)) Where is filed "id" primary key of table fin_stavke and dbo.fn_ado_chk_fin looks like create FUNCTION fn_ado_chk_fin ( @stavka_id int ) RETURNS bit AS BEGIN declare @bit bit if exists (select * from fin_stavke where id=@stavka_id and doc_id is null and protocol_id is null) begin set @bit=0 end else begin set @bit=1 end return @bit; END GO Will this type and method of cheeking constraint will affect badly performance on my table and SQL at all ? If there is also better way to add control on this table please let me know.

• Why should I bother with unit testing if I can just use integration tests?

- by CodeGrue
Ok, I know I am going out on a limb making a statement like that, so my question is for everyone to convince me I am wrong. Take this scenario: I have method A, which calls method B, and they are in different layers. So I unit test B, which delivers null as a result. So I test that null is returned, and the unit test passes. Nice. Then I unit test A, which expects an empty string to be returned from B. So I mock the layer B is in, an empty string is return, the test passes. Nice again. (Assume I don't realize the relationship of A and B, or that maybe two differente people are building these methods) My concern is that we don't find the real problem until we test A and B togther, i.e. Integration Testing. Since an integration test provides coverage over the unit test area, it seems like a waste of effort to build all these unit tests that really don't tell us anything (or very much) meaningful. Why am I wrong?

• How to test if raising an event results in a method being called conditional on value of parameters

- by MattC
I'm trying to write a unit test that will raise an event on a mock object which my test class is bound to. What I'm keen to test though is that when my test class gets it's eventhandler called it should only call a method on certain values of the eventhandlers parameters. My test seems to pass even if I comment the code that calls ProcessPriceUpdate(price); I'm in VS2005 so no lambdas please :( So... public delegate void PriceUpdateEventHandler(decimal price); public interface IPriceInterface{ event PriceUpdateEventHandler PriceUpdate; } public class TestClass { IPriceInterface priceInterface = null; TestClass(IPriceInterface priceInterface) { this.priceInterface = priceInterface; } public void Init() { priceInterface.PriceUpdate += OnPriceUpdate; } public void OnPriceUpdate(decimal price) { if(price > 0) ProcessPriceUpdate(price); } public void ProcessPriceUpdate(decimal price) { //do something with price } } And my test so far :s public void PriceUpdateEvent() { MockRepository mock = new MockRepository(); IPriceInterface pi = mock.DynamicMock<IPriceInterface>(); TestClass test = new TestClass(pi); decimal prc = 1M; IEventRaiser raiser; using (mock.Record()) { pi.PriceUpdate += null; raiser = LastCall.IgnoreArguments().GetEventRaiser(); Expect.Call(delegate { test.ProcessPriceUpdate(prc); }).Repeat.Once(); } using (mock.Playback()) { test.Init(); raiser.Raise(prc); } }

• Basic File upload in GWT

- by Maksim
I'm trying to figure out how to upload one file using GWTs FileUpload widget. I'm using GWT and Google AppEngine with Java but I would like to upload file to my own Linux server. I have the following code already but now I can't figure out how to submit my file to the Google AppServer server and save it to another server: public class FileUploader{ private ControlPanel cp; private FormPanel form = new FormPanel(); private FileUpload fu = new FileUpload(); public FileUploader(ControlPanel cp) { this.cp = cp; this.cp.setPrimaryArea(getFileUploaderWidget()); } @SuppressWarnings("deprecation") public Widget getFileUploaderWidget() { form.setEncoding(FormPanel.ENCODING_MULTIPART); form.setMethod(FormPanel.METHOD_POST); // form.setAction(/* WHAT SHOULD I PUT HERE */); VerticalPanel holder = new VerticalPanel(); fu.setName("upload"); holder.add(fu); holder.add(new Button("Submit", new ClickHandler() { public void onClick(ClickEvent event) { GWT.log("You selected: " + fu.getFilename(), null); form.submit(); } })); form.addSubmitHandler(new FormPanel.SubmitHandler() { public void onSubmit(SubmitEvent event) { if (!"".equalsIgnoreCase(fu.getFilename())) { GWT.log("UPLOADING FILE????", null); // NOW WHAT???? } else{ event.cancel(); // cancel the event } } }); form.addSubmitCompleteHandler(new FormPanel.SubmitCompleteHandler() { public void onSubmitComplete(SubmitCompleteEvent event) { Window.alert(event.getResults()); } }); form.add(holder); return form; } } Now, what do I need to do next? What do i need to put in web.xml and how do I write my servlet so i can store file and return url of that object (if possible)

• Flex List ItemRenderer with image looses BitmapData when scrolling

- by Dominik
Hi i have a mx:List with a DataProvider. This data Provider is a ArrayCollection if FotoItems public class FotoItem extends EventDispatcher { [Bindable] public var data:Bitmap; [Bindable] public var id:int; [Bindable] public var duration:Number; public function FotoItem(data:Bitmap, id:int, duration:Number, target:IEventDispatcher=null) { super(target); this.data = data; this.id = id; this.duration = duration; } } my itemRenderer looks like this: <mx:VBox xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009" xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark" xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" > <fx:Script> import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; </fx:Script> <s:Label text="index"/> <mx:Image source="{data.data}" maxHeight="100" maxWidth="100"/> <s:Label text="Duration: {data.duration}ms"/> <s:Label text="ID: {data.id}"/> </mx:VBox> Now when i am scrolling then all images that leave the screen disappear :( When i take a look at the arrayCollection every item's BitmapData is null. Why is this the case?

• stack overflow problem in program

- by Jay
So I am currently getting a strange stack overflow exception when i try to run this program, which reads numbers from a list in a data/text file and inserts it into a binary search tree. The weird thing is that when the program works when I have a list of 4095 numbers in random order. However when i have a list of 4095 numbers in increasing order (so it makes a linear search tree), it throws a stack overflow message. The problem is not the static count variable because even when i removed it, and put t=new BinaryNode(x,1) it still gave a stack overflow exception. I tried debugging it, and it broke at if (t == NULL){ t = new BinaryNode(x,count); Here is the insert function. BinaryNode *BinarySearchTree::insert(int x, BinaryNode *t) { static long count=0; count++; if (t == NULL){ t = new BinaryNode(x,count); count=0; } else if (x < t->key){ t->left = insert(x, t->left); } else if (x > t->key){ t->right = insert(x, t->right); } else throw DuplicateItem(); return t; }

• Can someone help me with this StructureMap error i'm getting?

- by Pure.Krome
Hi folks, I'm trying to wire up a simple ASP.NET MVC2 controller class to my own LoggingService. Code compiles fine, but I get the following runtime error :- {"StructureMap Exception Code: 202 No Default Instance defined for PluginFamily System.Type, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089"} what the? mscorlib ???? Here's some sample code of my wiring up .. protected void Application_Start() { MvcHandler.DisableMvcResponseHeader = true; BootstrapStructureMap(); ControllerBuilder.Current.SetControllerFactory( new StructureMapControllerFactory()); RegisterRoutes(RouteTable.Routes); } private static void BootstrapStructureMap() { ObjectFactory.Initialize(x => x.For<ILoggingService>().Use<Log4NetLoggingService>()); } and finally the controller, simplified for this question ... public class SearchController : Controller { private readonly ILoggingService _log { get; set; } public SearchController(ILoggingService loggingService) : base(loggingService) { // Error checking removed for brevity. _log = loggingService; _log.Tag = "SearchController"; } ... } and the structuremap factory (main method), also way simplified for this question... protected override IController GetControllerInstance(RequestContext requestContext, Type controllerType) { IController result = null; if (controllerType != null) { try { result = ObjectFactory.GetInstance(controllerType) as Controller; } catch (Exception exception) { if (exception is StructureMapException) { Debug.WriteLine(ObjectFactory.WhatDoIHave()); } } } } hmm. I just don't get it. StructureMap version 2.6.1.0 ASP.NET MVC 2. Any ideas?

• Streaming local file from PHP while it's been written to by a CURL process

- by Fahim
I am creating a simple Proxy server for my website. Why I am not using mod_proxy and mod_cache is a different discussion. Here's the code: shell_exec("nohup curl --create-dirs -o {$write_path} {$source_url} > /dev/null 2> /dev/null & echo $!"); sleep(1); $read_speed = 65.5; # 65.5 kb/s download rate $handle = fopen($write_path, "rb"); $content_type = select_meta_item($headers, 'Content-Type'); $file_size = select_meta_item($headers, 'Content-Length'); send_headers($content_type, $file_size); flush(); while (!feof($handle)) { echo fread($handle, round($read_speed * 1024)); flush(); sleep(1); } fclose($handle); Streaming an MP3 doesn't work using this method. Plays in Chrome, but not in Firefox. Initially I'll be using this to stream MP3 files through Long Tail's JW Player. If it all works out, I'll also be using this to send ZIP files.

• The uncatchable exception

- by chaiguy
Another custom MarkupExtension binding question... This time, my converter is being called before DataContext is set on the target element. This isn't a big deal because it will get updated when DataContext eventually receives a value. What is causing problems is the NullReferenceException I'm getting because of DataContext being null. Even though I'm attempting to catch the exception in my value converter: try { return ( (MethodInfo)_member ).Invoke( parameter, null ); } catch { return Binding.DoNothing; } For some reason the debugger is still halting at this point. Now I'm thinking it could be because the exception is happening in another assembly from where it is being caught (I'm trying to package this in a reusable class library, and _member above points to a method in the application assembly). If I run my little test app without the debugger it works fine, however my application is a little more robust and has general exception handling which is getting triggered because of this. I'm wondering if there is just some attribute or something (or perhaps some reflection parameter I'm missing?) I can use to make the exception be caught like it's supposed to.

• Why would a WebService return nulls when the actual service returns data?

- by Jerry
I have a webservice (out of my control) that I have to talk to. I also have a packet-sniffer on the line, and (SURPRISE!!!) the developers of the webservice aren't lying. They are actually sending back all of the data that I requested. But the web-service code that is auto-generated from the WSDL file is giving me "null" as a value. I used their WSDL file to generate my Web Reference. I checked my data types with the datatypes that the WSDL file has declared. And I used the code as listed below to perform the calls: DT_MaterialMaster_LookupRequest req = new DT_MaterialMaster_LookupRequest(); req.MaterialNumber = "101*"; req.DocumentNo = ""; req.Description = "Pipe*"; req.Plant = "0000"; MI_MaterialMaster_Lookup_OBService srv = new MI_MaterialMaster_Lookup_OBService(); DT_MaterialMaster_Response resp = srv.MI_MaterialMaster_Lookup_OB(new DT_MaterialMaster_LookupRequest[] { req }); // Note that the response here is ALWAYS null!! Console.WriteLine(resp.Status); The resp object is an actual object. It was generated properly. However, the Status and MaterialData fields are always null. When I call the web service, I've placed a packet-sniffer on the line, and I can see that I've sent the following (linebreaks and indentions for my own sanity): <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <soap:Body> <MT_MaterialMaster_Lookup xmlns="http://MyCompany.com/SomeCompany/mm/MaterialMasterSearch"> <Request xmlns=""> <MaterialNumber>101*</MaterialNumber>
Pipe*
<DocumentNo /> <Plant>0000</Plant> </Request> </MT_MaterialMaster_Lookup> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> The response that they send back SEEMS to be a valid response (linebreaks and indentions for my own sanity): <SOAP:Envelope xmlns:SOAP='http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/'> <SOAP:Header /> <SOAP:Body> <n0:MT_MaterialMaster_Response xmlns:n0='http://MyCompany.com/SomeCompany/mm/MaterialMasterSearch' xmlns:prx='urn:SomeCompany.com:proxy:BRD:/1SAI/TAS4FE14A2DE960D61219AE:701:2009/02/10'> <Response> <Status>No Rows Found</Status> <MaterialData /> </Response> </n0:MT_MaterialMaster_Response> </SOAP:Body> </SOAP:Envelope> The status shows that it actually received data... but the resp.Status and resp.MaterialData fields are always null. • Using PHP to display button with hyperlink or greyed out button if no URL in database

- by Diane
I've got a webpage that I'm working on where you click on a letter or category and it displays records matching that query from a database. One of the things I want to display is a hyperlinked button that says "Website" if the database record contains a URL in the 'URL' field, and if there is no value in that field, it will display a greyed out version of that button. I tried using an if...else statement, but was absolutely unable to get the syntax correct trying to get php to call up the 'URL' value in the middle of an "echo " So here's what I did: <?php if($row_rsmemalpha['URL'] != NULL) ?><a href="http://<?php echo ($row_rsmemalpha['URL']);?>"><target ="_blank"></target> <?php if($row_rsmemalpha['URL'] == NULL) echo ""; ?> If there is a URL available it shows the button properly. But if there isn't a URL in the database it shows both buttons. I have spent a few days studying examples and tutorials on the web, but haven't found too much that helps. The buttons were completely non-functional when I started, so I'm pretty proud of getting this far with it! I've just run out of time and patience for more trial-and-error experimenting. Any help is appreciated... Diane

• Flash "visible" issue

- by justkevin
I'm writing a tool in Flex that lets me design composite sprites using layered bitmaps and then "bake" them into a low overhead single bitmapData. I've discovered a strange behavior I can't explain: toggling the "visible" property of my layers works twice for each layer (i.e., I can turn it off, then on again) and then never again for that layer-- the layer stays visible from that point on. If I override "set visible" on the layer as such: override public function set visible(value:Boolean):void { if(value == false) this.alpha = 0; else {this.alpha = 1;} } The problem goes away and I can toggle "visibility" as much as I want. Any ideas what might be causing this? Edit: Here is the code that makes the call: private function onVisibleChange():void { _layer.visible = layerVisible.selected; changed(); } The changed() method "bakes" the bitmap: public function getBaked():BitmapData { var w:int = _composite.width + (_atmosphereOuterBlur * 2); var h:int = _composite.height + (_atmosphereOuterBlur * 2); var bmpData:BitmapData = new BitmapData(w,h,true,0x00000000); var matrix:Matrix = new Matrix(); var bounds:Rectangle = this.getBounds(this); matrix.translate(w/2,h/2); bmpData.draw(this,matrix,null,null,new Rectangle(0,0,w,h),true); return bmpData; } Incidentally, while the layer is still visible, using the Flex debugger I can verify that the layer's visible value is "false".

• MyMessage<T> throws an exception when calling XmlSerializer

- by Arthis
I am very new to nservicebus. I am using version 3.0.1, the last one up to date. And I wonder if my case is a normal limitation of NSB, I am not aware of. I have an asp.net MVC application, I am trying to setup and in my global.asax, I have the following : var configure = Configure.WithWeb() .DefaultBuilder() .ForMvc() .XmlSerializer(); But I have an error with the XmlSerializer when dealing with one of my object: [Serializable] public class MyMessage<T> : IMessage { public T myobject { get; set; } } I pass trough : XmlSerializer() instance.Initialize(types); this.InitType(type, moduleBuilder); this.InitType(info2.PropertyType, moduleBuilder); and then when dealing With T, string typeName = GetTypeName(t); typename is null and the following instruction : if (!nameToType.ContainsKey(typeName)) ends in error. null value not allowed. Is this some limitations to Nservicebus, or am I messing something up?

• Setting Position of source and listener has no effect

- by Ben E
Hi Guys, First time i've worked with OpenAL, and for the life of my i can't figure out why setting the position of the source doesn't have any effect on the sound. The sounds are in stero format, i've made sure i set the listener position, the sound is not realtive to the listener and OpenAL isn't giving out any error. Can anyone shed some light? Create Audio device ALenum result; mDevice = alcOpenDevice(NULL); if((result = alGetError()) != AL_NO_ERROR) { std::cerr << "Failed to create Device. " << GetALError(result) << std::endl; return; } mContext = alcCreateContext(mDevice, NULL); if((result = alGetError()) != AL_NO_ERROR) { std::cerr << "Failed to create Context. " << GetALError(result) << std::endl; return; } alcMakeContextCurrent(mContext); SoundListener::SetListenerPosition(0.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); SoundListener::SetListenerOrientation(0.0f, 0.0f, -1.0f); The two listener functions call alListener3f(AL_POSITION, x, y, z); Real vec[6] = {x, y, z, 0.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f}; alListenerfv(AL_ORIENTATION, vec); I set the sources position to 1,0,0 which should be to the right of the listener but it has no effect alSource3f(mSourceHandle, AL_POSITION, x, y, z); Any guidance would be much appreciated

• PHP: Get instance of static class by string value

- by Tirithen
I'm working on a php web api that was handed to me with a lot of code that needs to be refactored. The ones that wrote the code wanted to include a static configuration class to an api resource and then get an instance of that class something like this: <?php $obj = "User"; $confObjectSuffix = "_conf"; $confObject = $obj.$confObjectSuffix; if ($confObject::inst()->checkMethod($method)) { ..... This gives the error "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in ....." since $confObject is a string and not a object. I wrote some testcode: <?php $class = "User_conf"; echo "
"; print_r($$class::Inst()); echo "
"; class User_conf { private static $INSTANCE = null; public static function Inst() { if(User_conf::$INSTANCE === null) { User_conf::$INSTANCE = new User_conf(); } return User_conf::$INSTANCE; } } But can't get it to work with $$ either, is there some other way around this? I don't want to rewrite more than necessary.
