    How do I make a WrapPanel with some items having a Height of *? A deceptively simple question that I have been trying to solve. I want a control (or some XAML layout magickry) that behaves similar to a Grid that has some rows with a Height of *, but supports wrapping of columns. Hell; call it a WrapGrid. :) Here's a mockup to visualize this. Here is a horrible MSPaint of some mockups I made detailing this process. Recall from the XAML that the auto-sized buttons have minHeights of 30, and the star-sized buttons have minHeights of 90. This mockup is just two grids side by side and I manually moved buttons around in the designer. Conceivably, this could be done programmatically and serve as a sort of convoluted solution to this. How can this be done? I will accept any solution whether it's through xaml or has some code-behind (though I would prefer pure XAML if possible since xaml code behind is tougher to implement in IronPython).   • jQuery: How can I check if a block in my document is inside the viewport or outside of it?

    I am basically trying to trigger a function if the footer is inside the viewport. How can I check whether the footer is currently visible in the viewport? I assume I will have to put it into the $(window).scroll() event so that the listener becomes true once the footer becomes visible but what the function should be I just can't figure out. The next question, is how does the object know which UIViewController to talk to? How does it know which UIViewController has its view as the subview of the window? Is there a message you can send or a property you can set (of some object) that sets the "Active" UIViewController for the app?

  • How do I get Emacs to evaluate a file when a frame is raised?

    Basically I have my Emacs set up so it has a GUI specific elisp, but when starting it in daemon mode this doesn't evaluate. The code is something like: ;; gui.el (when window-system (progn ;; do stuff here )) I'd like this file (or at least the code within it—perhaps a funtion) to be re-evaluated when I run emacsclient -c on the command line, as I miss out on all my font-lock and color-theme goodness (as I have that stuff set to runonly when a GUI exists).

  • Does visibility affect DOM manipulation performance?

    IE7/Windows XP I have a third party component in my page that does a lot of DOM manipulation to adjust itself each time the browser window is resized. Unfortunately I have little control of what it does internally and I have optimized everything else (such as callbacks and event handlers) as much as I can. I can't take the component off the flow by setting display:none because it fails measuring itself if I do so. In general, does setting visibility of the container to invisible during the resize help improve DOM rendering performance?

    Hello, How to do bind data from DataTable to Chart series? I get null reference exception. I tried binding with square brackets and it did not worked either. So, how to do the binding? Thanks. P.S: I included DataGrid XAML and CS which works just fine. Converting data to List<KeyValuePair<string,int>> works good but it is kinda slow and is unnessesary trash in code. I use WPFToolkit (the latest version).   • Why does keyboard-slide crash my app?

    If I physically slide out the keyboard on my Moto Droid A855, it crashes my test app with the stack trace pasted below. I don't understand why?     I am currently learning to create custom controls in WPF. I successfully created a simple custom control using a Label and a Text Box. I was able to allow setting the Label text by DependencyProperty. Now I am creating a user control that has a ComboBox. I need to allow adding items to this ComboBox from outside the control. To achieve this, I tried exposing a DependencyProperty of type ItemsCollection and it will allows access to the ComboBox's Items property (the DP in my control sample is named 'CbItems'). But I get errors because Items property of Combobox is ReadOnly.     Normally you can login to sites that require HTTP basic authentication by passing the username and password in the URL, e.g.: http://myusername:[email protected]/mypath On my Linux machine, I could access this website without problems with my Konqueror browser as well as with my Opera browser. But with Firefox it doesn't work? It always displays the "Authentication Required" dialog window? Any ideas why it would work with the other browsers but not with Firefox? Peter

    I found all the code I need to make SHBrowseForFolder work in my application. But I hate that it forces you to do everything in the little folder window, without a text box to navigate by typing. In Windows, I know I commonly see a different folder browse dialog that does let me type folder names and use the other regular navigation keys to get around to select the desired folder (backspace, "..", Enter, and so on). Is there a different API call for that?

    The default git diff behavior is to open each diff file in serial (wait for previous file to be closed before opening next file). I'm looking for a way to open all the files at once - in BeyondCompare for example this would open all the files in tabs within the same BC window. This would make it easier to review a complex set of changes; flick back and forwards between the diff files and ignore unimportant files.

  • IntellIJ editor doesn't appear

    I updated my IntellIJ install to the latest version (11.1.4) and now the Editor window doesn't appear. Double-clicking on the file, jump-to-source, nothing happens. No error message, it just doesn't appear. If I double-click on an xml layout file the preview window works, but no Editor window. Have installed and reinstalled; went back to an earlier version and it doesn't work there either. I'm at a loss. Any ideas? Update: Editor works if I create a new project.
