  Hey, I have a matrix A which I am plotting using imagesc(A). The matrix is a 512 X 512 matrix, but I need the axes to be labeled from 0 to 4000 instead of 0 to 512. I can't seem to find where I can change this instead of just changing from where to where the points are plotted!

ORIGINAL QUESTION I have two executable files I downloaded and am trying to add to the path. They are located in /home/user/folder and the specific files are /home/user/folder/app1 /home/user/folder/app2 Both app1 and app2 have the executable flag set to all (user, group, other). I can execute the files if I am in /home/user/folder and I execute these commands ./app1 ./app2 However I can't run them from elsewhere. I added this line to my .profile PATH="$PATH:/home/user/folder" and then sourced the path with . /home/user/.profile and I can see app1 and app2 when I use command completion (pressing tab).   Im currently in the process of migrating our many BizTalk projects from MKS source control to TFS.  While we will be using TFS for work item tracking and source control etc we will be continuing to use Cruise Control for continuous integration although im updating this to CCNet 1.5 at the same time. Ill post a few things as much as a reminder to myself about some of the problems we come across. Problem After the first build of our code the next time a build is triggered an error is encountered by the TFS source control block refreshing the source code. Interestingly there are other folders created by the build which are deleted fine.  My assumption is that this if something to do with the file adapter polling the directory.  However note that we have not had this problem with other source control blocks in the past. • Access-based Enumeration (December 04, 2009)

  Access-based Enumeration (ABE) is another recent addition to the Solaris CIFS Service - delivered into snv_124.  Designed to be compatible with Windows ABE, which was introduced in Windows Server 2003 SP1, this feature filters directory content based on the user browsing the directory.  Each user can only see the files and directories to which they have access.  This can be useful to implement an out-of-sight, out-of-mind policy or simply to reduce the number of files presented to each user - to make it easier to find files in directories containing a large number of files. ABE is managed on a per share basis by a new boolean share property called, as you might imagine, abe, which is described insharemgr(1M).  When set to true, ABE filtering is enabled on the share and directory entries to which the user has no access will be omitted from directory listings returned to the client.  When set to false or not defined, ABE filtering will not be performed on the share.  The abe property is not defined by default.Administration is straightforward, for example: # zfs sharesmb=abe=true,name=jane tank/home/jane# sharemgr show -vp    zfs       zfs/tank/home/jane nfs=() smb=()          jane=/export/home/jane     smb=(abe="true") ABE is also supported via sharemgr(1M) and on smbautohome(4) shares. Note that even though a file is visible in a share, with ABE enabled, it doesn't automatically mean that the user will always be able to open the file.  If a user has read attribute access to a file ABE will show the it but access will be denied if this user tries to open the file for reading or writing. We considered supporting ABE on NFS shares, as suggested by the name of PSARC/2009/375, but we ran into problems due to NFS client readdir caching.  NFS clients maintain a common directory entry cache for all users, which not only defeats the intent of ABE but can lead to very confusing results.  If multiple users are looking at the content of a directory with ABE enabled, the entries that get cached will depend on who looks at the directory first.  Subsequent users may see files that ABE on the server would have filtered out or files may be missing because they were filtered out for the original user. Although this issue can be resolved by disabling the NFS client readdir cache, this was deemed to be an unsuitable solution because it would create a dependency between a server share property and the configuration on all NFS clients, and there was the potential for differences in behavior across the various NFS clients.  It just seemed to add unnecessary administration complexity so we pulled it out. • ls -l freezes terminal locally and remotely

  I've been reading other SF threads regarding ls not returning results or freezing and stalling terminal sessions and it appears they usually the fault of network problems. My problem however, occurs both over remote SSH sessions but also if I am physically at the server itself... I just installed CentOS 5.4 on one of our servers. I'm setting up some rdiff-backup scripts and when I downloaded librsync and untared it, thats when I started seeing some weird behavior with ls -l. wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/librsync/files/librsync/0.9.7/librsync-0.9.7.tar.gz/download /tmp cd /tmp tar -xzf librsync-0.9.7.tar.gz Simple enough. To view the files in this directory I did this: ls results: librsync-0.9.7 librsync-0.9.7.tar.gz Now, if I ls -l, my terminal freezes. I have to re-ssh in to keep going. After reading SF threads, I thought it was network related. So I was extremely surprised to go sit down at the server itself and see the exact same thing happen... So its obviously not a network issues. Even if I ls /tmp/librsync-0.9.7, my terminal freezes just the same...   I am using a 3rd-party .NET component which requires an XML configuration file. I'm am using this in an ASP.NET application. I get an error when configure the XML with the following dtd: <!DOCTYPE prod-config SYSTEM "prod-config.dtd"> The error is as follows: For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the ProhibitDtd property on XmlReaderSettings to false and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method. prod-config.dtd is sitting in the same directory as the XML config file. I don't have access to the component code to modify XmlReaderSettings, ProhibitDtd etc. Is there anotherway I can modify or tag the XML file to permit the DTD to be accessed?   We have had the unenviable happen: various master documents refer to sub-documents that are no longer where they used to be due to a directory renaming. Is there a programmatic way of tweaking the HYPERLINK field without losing the master/sub-document relationship? I've got this far ... • How can I change the filename of a shared library after building a program that depends on it?

  I have a program that depends on a shared library it expects to find deep inside a directory structure. I'd like to move that shared library out and into a better place. On OS X, this can be done with install_name_tool. I'm unable to find an equivalent for Linux. For reference, readelf -d myprogram spits out the following paraphrased output: Dynamic section at offset 0x1e9ed4 contains 30 entries: Tag Type Name/Value 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [this/is/terrible/library.so] 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libGL.so.1] 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libGLU.so.1] 0x00000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libstdc++.so.6] and I would like to errata "this/is/terrible/library.so" to be "shared/library.so". I know about RPATH and it isn't what I'm looking for, I don't need to change search paths globally.

• Change of domain deleted data in Team Foundation Server?

  Dear All, Maybe my google-fu is failing me, but I cannot seem to find any information on the following: My Windows user account was recently moved, accidentally, to another domain in my company's Active Directory. While in the other domain, I was unable to access my data stored in TFS 2008 (e.g. shelvesets, pending changes, workspaces, etc). I assume this was because it was associated with my ORIGINALDOMAIN\userId account, rather than NEWDOMAIN\userID account. My account has now been moved back to ORIGINALDOMAIN, however I still cannot see any of my data in TFS. In fact, it appears that all of my data (all my shelvesets!) have been deleted. It is almost as if TFS saw that my userId had disappeared from ORIGINALDOMAIN and assumed that I had been "deleted" and thus deleted all my data. Has anybody else encountered this? Is there hope for my data or am I royally stuffed? Thanks in advance, Steve

• How can I dynamically change auto complete entries in a C# combobox or textbox?

  I have a combobox in C# and I want to use auto complete suggestions with it, however I want to be able to change the auto complete entries as the user types, because the possible valid entries are far too numerous to populate the AutoCompleteStringCollection at startup. As an example, suppose I'm letting the user type in a name. I have a list of possible first names ("Joe", "John") and a list of surnames ("Bloggs", "Smith"), but if I have a thousand of each, then that would be a million possible strings - too many to put in the auto complete entries. So initially I want to have just the first names as suggestions ("Joe", "John") , and then once the user has typed the first name, ("Joe"), I want to remove the existing auto complete entries and replace them with a new set consisting of the chosen first name followed by the possible surnames ("Joe Bloggs", "Joe Smith"). It seems that the call to Clear() causes the auto complete mechanism to "turn off" until the next character appears in the combo box, but of course when the next character appears the above code calls Clear() again, so the user never actually sees the auto complete functionality. It also causes the entire contents of the combo box to become selected, so between every keypress you have to deselect the existing text, which makes it unusable. If I remove the call to Clear() then the auto complete works, but it seems that then the AddRange() call has no effect, because the new suggestions that I add do not appear in the auto complete dropdown. I have been searching for a solution to this, and seen various things suggested, but I cannot get any of them to work - either the auto complete functionality appears disabled, or new strings do not appear. Here is a list of things I have tried: Calling BeginUpdate() before changing the strings and EndUpdate() afterwards. Calling Remove() on all the existing strings instead of Clear(). Clearing the text from the combobox while I update the strings, and adding it back afterwards. Setting the AutoCompleteMode to "None" while I change the strings, and setting it back to "SuggestAppend" afterwards. Hooking the TextUpdate or KeyPress event instead of TextChanged. Replacing the existing AutoCompleteCustomSource with a new AutoCompleteStringCollection each time. None of these helped, even in various combinations. Spence suggested that I try overriding the ComboBox function that gets the list of strings to use in auto complete. Using a reflector I found a couple of methods in the ComboBox class that look promising - GetStringsForAutoComplete() and SetAutoComplete(), but they are both private so I can't access them from a derived class. I couldn't take that any further. I tried replacing the ComboBox with a TextBox, because the auto complete interface is the same, and I found that the behaviour is slightly different. With the TextBox it appears to work better, in that the Append part of the auto complete works properly, but the Suggest part doesn't - the suggestion box briefly flashes to life but then immediately disappears.   Greetings! I ran into this problem in my project (Silverlight 3 with C#): I have a TreeView which is data bound to, well, a tree. This TreeView has a HierarchicalDataTamplate in a resource dictionary, that defines various controls. Now I want to hide (Visibility.Collapse) some items depending on wether a node has children or not. Other items shall be visible under the same condition. It works like charm when I first bind the source tree to the TreeView, but when I change the source tree, the visibility in the treeview does not change. • No audio with headphones, but audio works with integrated speakers

  My speakers work correctly, but when I plug in my headphones, they don't work. I am running Ubuntu 10.04. My audio card is Realtek ALC259 My laptop model is a HP G62t a10em In another thread someone fixed a similar issue (headphones work, speakers not) folowing this: sudo vi /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf (or some other editor instead of Vi) Append the following at the end of the file: alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel options snd-hda-intel model=auto Reboot but it doesnt work for me. I have reinstalled the following packages and rebooter: -alsa-hda-realtek-ignore-sku-dkms -alsa-modules-2.6.32-25-generic -alsa-source -alsa-utils -linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic -linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic-pae -linux-sound-base -(i think i listed them all) After rebooting, the audio worked, both in speakers and headphones.   There is a new version of jtreg available. The primary new feature is support for tests that have been written for use with TestNG, the popular open source testing framework. TestNG is supported by a variety of tools and plugins, which means that it is now possible to develop tests for OpenJDK using those tools, while still retaining the ability to have the tests be part of the OpenJDK test suite, and run with a single test harness, jtreg. jtreg can be downloaded from the OpenJDK jtreg page: http://openjdk.java.net/jtreg. TestNG support jtreg supports both single TestNG tests, which can be freely intermixed with other types of jtreg tests, and groups of TestNG tests. A single TestNG test class can be compiled and run by providing a test description using the new action tag: @run testng classname The test will be executed by using org.testng.TestNG. No main method is required. A group of TestNG tests organized in a standard package hierarchy can also be compiled and run by jtreg. Any such group must be identified by specifying the root directory of the package hierarchy. You can either do this in the top level TEST.ROOT file, or in a TEST.properties file in any subdirectory enclosing the group of tests. In either case, add a line to the file of the form: TestNG.dirs = dir ... Directories beginning with '/' are evaluated relative to the root directory of the test suite; otherwise they are evaluated relative to the directory containing the declaring file. In particular, note that you can simply use "TestNG.dirs = ." in a TEST.properties file in the root directory of the test group's package hierarchy. No additional test descriptions are necessary, but test descriptions containing information tags, such as @bug, @summary, etc are permitted. • Dynamically change MYSQL query within a PHP file using jQuery .post?

  Hi, Been trying this for quite a while now and I need help. Basically I have a PHP file that queries database and I want to change the query based on a logged in users name. What happens on my site is that a user logs on with Twitter Oauth and I can display their details (twitter username etc.). I have a database which the user has added information to and I what I would like to happen is when the user logs in with Twitter Oauth, I could use jQuery to take the users username and update the mysql query to show only the results where the user_name = that particular users name. At the moment the mysql query is: "SELECT * FROM markers WHERE user_name = 'dave'" I've tried something like: "SELECT * FROM markers WHERE user_name = '$user_name'" And elsewhere in the PHP file I have $user_name = $_POST['user_name'];. In a separate file (the one in which the user is redirected to after they log in through Twitter) I have some jQuery like this: $(document).ready(function(){ $.post('phpsqlinfo_resultb.php',{user_name:"<?PHP echo $profile_name?>"})}); $profile_name has been defined earlier on that page. I know i'm clearly doing something wrong, i'm still learning. • When clicking below window title bar in KDE, window dragging is initiated. Can I change this behavior?

  this one is regarding KDE in Ubuntu 12.04. The thing is that whenever I click below the window title bar in KDE, the window manager always assumes I want to drag the window, not just activate it. Clicking the title bar activates the window without dragging it just fine, however I sometimes find it hard to click because it's rather narrow :) Is there any way to change this behavior (besides the obvious "make your title bar larger" thing)? I also assume this is happening to Gtk applications only (Firefox, Thunderbird, Synaptic), as I have tried it with several KDE apps (KWrite, KTorrent, Gwenview, Konsole) and noticed no such behavior.
