    Hello, I have a simple test using vsts load test that is using datasource.   • Finding Common Phrases in SQL Server TEXT Column

    Short Desc: I'm curious to see if I can use SQL Analysis services or some other SQL Server service to mine some data for me that will show commonalities between SQL TEXT fields in a dataset. Long Desc I am looking at a subset of data that consists of about 10,000 rows of TEXT blobs which are used as a notes column in a issue tracking (ticketing) software. I would like to use something out of the box (without having to build something) that might be able to parse through all of the rows and find commonly used byte sequences in the "Notes" column. In other words, I want to find commonly used phrases (two to three word phrases, so 9 - 20 character sections of the TEXT blob). This will help me better determine if associate's notes contain similar phrases (troubleshooting techniques) that we could standardize in our troubleshooting process flow. Closing Note I'd really rather not build an application to do this as my method will probably not be the most efficient way to do it. Hopefully all this makes sense. Please let me know in the comments if anything needs clarification.

    I'm using VSTS 2K8 and I've set up a Unit Test Project. In it, I have a test class with a method that does a simple assertion. I'm using an Excel 2007 spreadsheet as my data source. My test method looks like this: [DataSource("System.Data.Odbc", "Dsn=Excel Files;dbq=|DataDirectory|\\MyTestData.xlsx;defaultdir=C:\\TestData;driverid=1046;maxbuffersize=2048;pagetimeout=5", "Sheet1", DataAccessMethod.Sequential)] [DeploymentItem("MyTestData.xlsx")] [TestMethod()] public void State_Value_Is_Set() { string expected = "MD"; string actual = TestContext.DataRow["State"] as string; Assert.AreEqual(expected, actual); } As indicated in the method decoration attributes, my Excel spreadsheet is on my local C:/ Drive. In it, the sheet where all of my data is located is named "Sheet1". I've copied the Excel spreadsheet into my project and I've set its Build Action = "Content" and I've set its Copy to Output Directory = "Copy if Newer". When trying to run this simple unit test, I receive the following error: The unit test adapter failed to connect to the data source or to read the data. I've verified that the sheet name is spelled correctly (i.e. Sheet1) and I've verified that my data sources are set correctly. Web searches haven't turned up much at all. And I'm totally stumped. All help or input is appreciated!!!!

  • Why aren't my objects sorting with sortedArrayUsingDescriptors?

    I expected the code below to return the objects in imageSet as a sorted array. Instead, there's no difference in the ordering before and after. NSSortDescriptor *descriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"imageID" ascending:YES]; NSSet *imageSet = collection.images; for (CBImage *image in imageSet) { NSLog(@"imageID in Set: %@",image.imageID); } NSArray *imageArray = [[imageSet allObjects] sortedArrayUsingDescriptors:(descriptor, nil)]; [descriptor release]; for (CBImage *image in imageArray) { NSLog(@"imageID in Array: %@",image.imageID); } Fwiw, CBImage is defined in my core data model. I don't know why sorting on managed objects would work any differently than on "regular" objects, but maybe it matters.   • Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter not working probperly - Code 31 on Host

    I have a Windows 8.1 machine with Hyper-V installed. From a "clean" Hyper-V configuration I open Virtual Switch Manager, create an External switch with "Allow management operating system to share this network adapter", click OK. Everything seems to work properly but the host loses network connectivity. Opening Device Manager, the "Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter" is shown under the Network Adapter section with a yellow triangle, and the following message: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) An object ID was not found in the file. I tried "Uninstalling" the device, seems to work, but the device doesn't actually remove. I tried removing and re-adding the Hyper-V feature completely, no difference. Tried scf /scannow, no problems. System and Application logs show no errors. The Hyper-V-VMMS Networking log shows the following: Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS-Networking Source: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS Date: 10/24/2013 10:53:07 AM Event ID: 26088 Description: Failed to apply static IP settings to internal Ethernet adapter {A813DE9A-BE70-4FAE-AD31-BE4D54505A4B} ('885435B8-BE65-4EE9-826D-AB56035237ED'): Unspecified error (0x80004005). If I try to remove the Virtual Switch in Hyper-V Virtual Switch Manager I get this in that same log: Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS-Networking Source: Microsoft-Windows-Hyper-V-VMMS Date: 10/24/2013 11:19:47 AM Event ID: 26142 Description: Failed while removing virtual Ethernet switch.     My problem is a little confusing. I have 2 servers (Windows Server 2008 R2) with MSMQ installed and I want to use Server B to consume a MessageQueue on Server A. When I try to Receive it always throws a message error: "Access to message queuing system is denied.". IP between them. Server A: 172.31.23.130 Server B: 172.31.23.195 FormatName:Direct=TCP:172.31.23.195\private$\queuesource (It's working for Sends) I can ping each server from the other; The firewall is disabled; The "queuesource" has Full Control to "Everyone", "Anonymous Logon", "Network", "Network Services"; Journal is disabled; Authentication is ok; The queue is Transactional. My code in .Net C# is basically like this: MessageQueue _sourceQueue = new MessageQueue(); _sourceQueue.Path = "FormatName:Direct=TCP:172.31.23.195\private$\queuesource"; _sourceQueue.Receive(); // << here throw an exception. Actually I'm using the Private Queue only to avoid Active Directory's problems. For example, if the server DNS fail all network fail. I don't know what do anymore.

  • Cannot connect with Cisco VPN but can connect with ShrewSoft VPN

    EDIT: We connected an air card to the computer to use a different Internet connection and using the Cisco software, we were able to successfully connect to our VPN server. I just don't understand why the ShrewSoft VPN client would connect but the Cisco connection won't. I'm not our network admin so sorry if I butcher some of the terminology. I have a computer at remote site that connects to our network through Cisco VPN. It uses the Cisco VPN software to do so. The problem is that the computer at this site cannot connect to our VPN because it is getting error "Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding." To see if perhaps something on their network was blocking the connection, I installed the ShrewSoft VPN client on the computer, imported our .pcf file and connected with no problem. I have tried two different versions of the Cisco VPN software (4.8.0.* and 5.0.03.*) and have the same problem. I installed Wireshark on the computer and have confirmed (while trying to connect through Cisco) that the computer is trying to contact the VPN server but is not receiving a response. We are not having any other problems regarding users not being able to connect. I'm at a loss at what else to check. I'll be monitoring this and have access to the computer at any time.

    Hello, I having problem connecting a NOkia cell phone to my home wifi network. The wifi network is provided by a wireless card in a machine running Debian Testing and 2.6.26-2-686 kernel. The cars is D-Link DWL-G520 working in ap mode and has WPA encryption enabled. The wireless network is provided by hostapd using madwifi driver. Windows and Mac machines work properly with this wifi network. If I switch off dnsmasq dhcp queries logging, i.e. if I decrease the verbosity of the log, all I see are two lines of DHCPDISCOVER(ath0) and DHCPOFFER(ath0) repeatedly in the log with no acceptance by the cell phone. It appears as though the phone is not accepting the dhcp offer. However, if I give the phone a static IP address in its configuration, it works properly on the wifi network. So it appears as though the problem is dhcp related. Hints? Suggestions?   • Mac OS X 10.6 Setup for Apache/MySQL/Perl

    I just got a new Mac and have been trying to setup a local development environment for my perl applications for a few days now with no luck. I'm getting no where fast so I hope someone else who has done this successfully could help. I started by installing MAMP which I thought would take care of everything for me but unfortunately it doesn't take care of some important perl modules. I used CPAN to install all our required modules except that it seems DBD::mysql doesn't install correctly through CPAN.   • Cisco adaptive security appliance is dropping packets where SYN flag is not set

    We have an apache instance sitting inside our DMZ which is configured to proxy requests to an internal NATed tomcat instance inside our network. It works fine, but then all of a sudden requests from apache to the tomcat instance stop getting through with the following in the apache logs: [error] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: ajp_ilink_receive() can't receive header Investigating into the Cisco log viewer reveals the following: Error Message %ASA-6-106015: Deny TCP (no connection) from IP_address/port to IP_address/port flags tcp_flags on interface interface_name. Explanation The adaptive security appliance discarded a TCP packet that has no associated connection in the adaptive security appliance connection table. The adaptive security appliance looks for a SYN flag in the packet, which indicates a request to establish a new connection. If the SYN flag is not set, and there is not an existing connection, the adaptive security appliance discards the packet. Recommended Action None required unless the adaptive security appliance receives a large volume of these invalid TCP packets. If this is the case, trace the packets to the source and determine the reason these packets were sent. All are machines are virtualised using VMware, and by default machines have been using the Intel E1000 emulated NIC. Our network administrator has changed this to a VMXNET3 driver in an attempt to correct the problem, we just have to wait and see if the problem persists as it's an intermittent problem. Is there something else that could be causing this problem? This isn't the first service where we have had similar issues. Our apache host is running Ubuntu 11.10 with a kernel version of 3.0.0-17-server. We have also had this issue on RHEL5 (5.8) running kernel 2.6.18-308.16.1.el5, this machine also has the E1000 NIC. NOTE: I am not a network administrator and am a software architect and analyst programmer responsible for these systems.

  • Windows 8 and SMB2 Issues

    We're playing with the consumer preview of Windows 8 and having issues accessing some network shares in our environment. Basically, when I attempt to access a share directly (\[SERVER].[DOMAIN].[NETWORK]\Share$) I get 'An extended error has occured'. The shares reside on an EMC Celerra system. Sorry, I don't really have much more information about it (this is just a little side project). Accessing shares that reside on Windows machines are fine. The Firewall is completley disabled and I am running under full domain administrative credentials. A quick wireshark shows the following group of packets between myself and the server: SMB2 164 NegotiateProtocol Request SMB2 274 NegotiateProtocol Response SMB2 981 SessionSetup Request SMB2 281 SessionSetup Response SMB2 200 TreeConnect Request Tree: \\[SERVER].[DOMAIN].[NETWORK]\[SHARE]$ SMB2 138 TreeConnect Response SMB2 202 Ioctl Request NETWORK_FILE_SYSTEM Function:0x0080 SMB2 131 Ioctl Response, Error: STATUS_INVALID_DEVICE_REQUEST SMB2 126 SessionLogoff Request SMB2 126 SessionLogoff Respons This repeats five times and then (I assume) Windows throws me the above error. A quick Google shows me: 0xC0000010 STATUS_INVALID_DEVICE_REQUEST The specified request is not a valid operation for the target device. Which shows me that NETWORK_FILE_SYSTEM Function:0x0080 request is invalid.. Does anyone know what would cause this? Thanks in advance. Rhys.   • Connection speed drops from 1 Gbps to 10 Mbps (Vista 64)

    I recently got a Windows Home Server (HP MediaSmart Server EX490) setup so I could do backups and other things. However, I am having trouble on my Vista 64 PC. The backup will be making great progress, then it will just slow down. At one point, I noticed the lights on my Netgear GS105 indicated it was not using a 1000 Mbps connection, but a 10 Mbps one. I checked the Status of Local Area Connection (Intel(R) 82567V-2 Gigabit Network Connection) and that also showed the same slow speed. This has happened several times in the last couple days. When I disabled the network device, and then enabled it, it established the 1 Gpbs connection again. However, some of the times the Sent Bytes Activity on the Status windows indicate that the data flow is still slow (100 to 1000 bytes every couple seconds). Obviously, at this rate I could backup faster to floppy disk. :) My question is how to diagnose and fix this problem. When I look at the Administrative Events, I do a Errors: Bonjour Service 456: ERROR: read_msg errno 10054 (An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.) And a Warning: e1yexpress Intel(R) 82567V-2 Gigabit Network Connection Link has been disconnected. I am suspicious there is some power saving mode. I found a post suggesting System Idle Power Saver(SIPS) may be the issue. I am going to try that, but looking for other suggestions or diagnostic advice. I have several new items in this configuration: server, client software, switch and cat6 cables.

    I'm trying to watch ICMP redirects in a lab using Cisco Packet Tracer (version 5.3.2) and I'm not seeing them, which leads me to believe that either my lab configuration isn't correct or my understanding of ICMP redirects isn't correct or that Packet Tracer doesn't support/use ICMP redirects. Here's what I believe to be true regarding ICMP redirects: Routers send ICMP redirects when all of these conditions are met: The interface on which the packet comes into the router is the same interface on which the packet gets routed out. The subnet or network of the source IP address is on the same subnet or network of the next-hop IP address of the routed packet. The datagram is not source-routed. The router kernel is configured to send redirects. I have the lab set up in Cisco Packet Tracer as displayed in the image and would expect to see an ICMP redirect from Router1 when pinging from PC1 to PC3. I'm not seeing the ICMP redirect and it looks like Router1 is actually routing all of the packets via Router2. I have IP ICMP debugging enabled on Router1 (and Router2) and I'm not seeing any ICMP redirect activity in either console. I'm also not seeing a route to the PC3 network in the routing table on PC1, which I think confirms that the ICMP redirect is not occurring. I'm using only static routing on Routers 1 and 2. Is my understanding of ICMP redirects incorrect, or is there a problem with my lab configuration or does Packet Tracer not support/use ICMP redirects?

  • Static routing on a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

    My home network setup looks like this: Both routers are TP-Link TL-WR1043ND routers. The basement router handles all devices in the house that are connected via cable, handing out addresses for the 10.89.49.0/24 network via DHCP. Wireless doesn’t really work from the basement, as the signal is too weak, so I have disabled it. To do WiFi, I have added a second (identical) router downstairs. On the WAN side it is assigned the 10.89.49.101 IP address from the basement router, and on its LAN it provides the 10.89.7.0/24 network. Basic internet access works flawlessly from any device this way. I am now facing the problem that I am not able to communicate (e.g. SSH) between all devices, wired or wireless. I am able to connect from a wireless device to a wired device, for example SSH-ing from 10.89.7.X to 10.89.49.Y, but it doesn’t work the other way round—despite the fact that I have added a static route to the basement router: Does anybody have any idea on how to solve it? Both routers have already been upgraded to use the most recent firmware from TP-Link.com (Build 110429), to no avail. Errata: I would like to stick with the official firmware, switching to something like DD-WRT or OpenWrt only as a last resort.

I have plugged in the laptop to my home connection and started connect.ovpn The Local Area Connection is connected as 'Home Network 3' - and when I start OpenVPN it is connected as 'Local Area Connection 2' and this is showing as 'Unidentified Network' and it appears there is no network access. TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 appears to be the adaptors name and the IP and DNS properties are set to automatic. If I open up the OpenVPN GUI it shows an error message saying "Connecting to connect has failed". Looking at the error message behind this pop-up one line says "TCP/UDP Socket bind failed on local address [undef]:1195 Address already in use [WSAEADDRINUSE] Could anyone possibly help me further with this please?

The laptops come with Windows 7 Professional already installed, and we do not need or want to reimage them. We would however like to customize the installation once it is in place, through a series of scripts. We will also be deploying these scripts to computers which have already been set up. Most of the settings we wish to change can be done easily from the command line or with a registry file. However, there is one thing we keep getting hung up on: networking options. Is there any unattended way to set the Windows 7 networking configuration? We would like to set the following things automatically, which are found under Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Advanced sharing settings > Home or Work network: Turn on network discovery Turn on printer and file sharing Turn off public folder sharing Turn on password protected sharing Use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers We also need to configure the firewall to allow the following exceptions: File and printer sharing Remote assistance Remote desktop Remote scheduled tasks management Remote service management Windows remote management I've looked around, and can't find any way to change these things - I looked into netsh, registry settings, and even used RegMon to watch while I changed the values manually, all to no avail. Google hasn't offered up anything helpful so far. If anyone could provide some insight, I would very much appreciate it. I did find out that much of this is configurable with group policy, but because these computers are in a workgroup, not a domain, I don't know of any way to take advantage of that in an unattended manner.

  • Windows 7 Complete PC Backup - Fails with error code: 0x80070002

    While doing a Complete PC Backup in Windows 7 I received dialog reading: Windows Backup...error The backup did not complete successfully. Open the Backup and Restore Control Panel to view settings From there I clicked the Options button. Windows Backup: Troubleshooting Options Check your backup Windows Backup encountered invalid MediaID.bin file on the drive where the backup is saved. Restore from a different backup or delete the MediaID.bin file and try to create another backup. The MediaID.bin file can be found under \MediaID.Bin & \\MediaId.Bin. I deleted the file in question (MediaID.bin) from X:\ (one of the drives being backedup( and tried the backup again. Next I was presented with a dialog that read: Windows Backups: Troubleshooting Options Check your backup The system connot find the file specified. I noticed that none of the profiles was missing a ProfileImagePath, I also noticed that the people commenting on the page said that they weren't missing it either. I'm currently trying the backup again, but this time I unchecked all of the user's profiles and opted only to backup the two drives X: and C: on to E:\ I'll let you know what happens. Any ideas?

  • Can't connect to LAN when connected to D-Link DIR-615

    I'm have a D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N 300 Router. I didn't use the CD it comes with to set up the network. Instead I configured it manually through the router's settings that are accessed via a web browser. The main changes I made are: Secured the router so that a password is required before clients can use the wireless internet. Broadcasting 802.11N only (not B or G). I can connect to the router just fine and I'm able to access the internet. The only problem is that I don't see any of the other computers in my LAN. When I try connecting to another Wi-Fi router that I have (which is connected to the same network), I can see all of the computer's on my LAN just fine. Therefore, I'm guessing that the reason I can't connect to the LAN is not a problem with my computer and is a problem with the router instead. I'm on a MacBook Air running Mac OS X 10.6.6. I tried contacting D-Link technical support, but they only try to help you if you have problems connecting to the internet. They aren't really concerned with problems that have to do with the accessing PC's on the same network.
