• Cisco PIX firewall blocking inbound Exchange email

  [Cisco PIX, SBS2003] I can telnet server port 25 from inside but not outside, hence all inbound email is blocked. • jQuery not executed on page load

  I'm building an ajax upload with an editing function (rotate, zoom and crop), and I'm using guillotine by matiasgagliano (https://github.com/matiasgagliano/guillotine) for this. My problem is that after upload the user get redirected to the editing page through ajax, but when landing on that page I always have to refresh the page in browser for the image to load. I've tried auto-reloading, both through js and php, but that doesn't help, neither does adding a button to load the same url again. Only refresh from browser button (tested in several browsers) works. I've tried implementing jquery.turbolinks, but that stopped guillotine functions from working. I'm loading the guillotine.js in head section after jQuery, and have the function in bottom before body tag. Any tip or help would be appreciated. • How do I get around this lambda expression outer variable issue?

  I'm playing with PropertyDescriptor and ICustomTypeDescriptor (still) trying to bind a WPF DataGrid to an object, for which the data is stored in a Dictionary. Since if you pass WPF DataGrid a list of Dictionary objects it will auto generate columns based on the public properties of a dictionary (Comparer, Count, Keys and Values) my Person subclasses Dictionary and implements ICustomTypeDescriptor. ICustomTypeDescriptor defines a GetProperties method which returns a PropertyDescriptorCollection. PropertyDescriptor is abstract so you have to subclass it, I figured I'd have a constructor that took Func and an Action parameters that delegate the getting and setting of the values in the dictionary. I then create a PersonPropertyDescriptor for each Key in the dictionary like this: foreach (string s in this.Keys) { var descriptor = new PersonPropertyDescriptor( s, new Func<object>(() => { return this[s]; }), new Action<object>(o => { this[s] = o; })); propList.Add(descriptor); } The problem is that each property get's its own Func and Action but they all share the outer variable s so although the DataGrid autogenerates columns for "ID","FirstName","LastName", "Age", "Gender" they all get and set against "Gender" which is the final resting value of s in the foreach loop. How can I ensure that each delegate uses the desired dictionary Key, i.e. the value of s at the time the Func/Action is instantiated? Much obliged. • Multiple Graphics Cards on Fedora 15 (Gnome 3)

  I have the (delightful) misfortune of having 3 graphics cards. They are XFX Radeon 5750s. Each drives 2 monitors via dvi. I am having a really hard time getting these running on fedora 15 (gnome 3). So my setup is 3 columns of 2 monitors (the upper monitor is mounted upside down in each column to reduce the bezel between monitors). When the (graphical) login screen comes up all 6 have the blue stripey background that must be the default, but then when I login, things get interesting. In the xorg.conf below, you will see only 2 of the screens in the serverlayout while the other 4 are commented out. Logging in with only 2 of the screens active works well (and it even remembers that the top one is upside down, and should be considered above the lower, i am not sure where it stores this info, but i set it using the graphical "Displays" settings) However, as soon as I uncomment a third screen, or more, it gives me an error message when I login. It's one of those friendly, less helpful messages (Oh no! Something has gone wrong. A problem has occurred and the system can't recover. Please log out and try again). If i do not use an xorg.conf, then the "Displays" prefs pane shows only the two monitors on one of my graphics cards Thanks to anyone who can help me get going! • I'm trying to return text from a .txt file using ajax

  I'm trying to get my first ajax script to work. The five images are all side by side. Whenever the user hovers the mouse over any of them, it sends a request to a .txt file on the server and the caption is displayed in the div#image_caption. The problem is, even when I mouse over the image, the caption does not display. I'm not quite sure what could be causing this. • Why cant I get a Thumb to be larger on a styled scrollbar in WPF.

  I have taken the MSDN templates for styling a scrollbar and have been trying to apply my different styles (Image on each track repeater and separate Image on the thumb) but I am unable to make the thumb change size. I have tried setting the Width on the Track.Thumb style and also in the ControlTemplate of the Thumb itself. For some reason the default size is only ever rendered even when the thumb actually occupies much more space. Does anyone know how to make the thumb render at the size that I want?   I've made a simple Javascript code for a shopping basket but now I have realised that I have made a error with making it and don't know how to fix it. • WPF MVVM TreeView item source losing context after command

  I have a treeview which contains files, every view model holds an item source which is an ObservableCollection with files items: public ObservableCollection<CMItemFileNode> SubItemNode On each item i have context menu options (Delete, Execute..). If i move from one viewModel to another the ObservableCollection of files updated correctly and presented correctly but, when i perform a context menu command like delete file item, the command execute good but when i move to another view model (which holds SubItemNode ObservableCollection of is own) after the command executed the WPF still thinks i'm in the last view model i was in and not the one i'm really on. Very important to mention is that when i update to .net 4.5 (which unfortunantly i can't do) everything is ok and the ObservableCollection addresses the correct view model. • Why isn't my div scrolling horizontally when adding multiple images?

  I have an outer div, and inside of that, I have an inner div which contains a list of images. When the images are wider than the outer div, I want to have it scroll horizontally, but instead, it just puts the image on the next line instead of expanding. If I add many rows, the div does scroll vertically, but horizontally, it doesn't do it. This happens on every browser I've tried - Firefox, Chrome, IE, and Safari. • Get item from spinner into url

  I searched for an answer but couldn't find it. The problem: Depending on the selected spinner-item the application should show a different image. At this moment I can't get it to work. The Url works like this: "my.site.com/images/" imc_met ".png" were imc_met is the filename. I can't get it to work. • Slideshow positioning problem

  I have a javascript slideshow that works perfectly on Windows 7, Firefox, Chrome, IE 8+ (I don't have the resources to check 6 or 7) and Opera. But I've been told that when on xp with IE 7 the slidshow gets thrown off screen to the right. What could my issue be? • Data Warehouse ETL slow - change primary key in dimension?

  I have a working MySQL data warehouse that is organized as a star schema and I am using Talend Open Studio for Data Integration 5.1 to create the ETL process. I would like this process to run once per day. I have estimated that one of the dimension tables (dimUser) will have approximately 2 million records and 23 columns. I created a small test ETL process in Talend that worked, but given the amount of data that may need to be updated daily, the current performance will not cut it. It takes the ETL process four minutes to UPDATE or INSERT 100 records to dimUser. If I assumed a linear relationship between the count of records and the amount of time to UPDATE or INSERT, then there is no way the ETL can finish in 3-4 hours (my hope), let alone one day. Since I'm unfamiliar with Java, I wrote the ETL as a Python script and ran into the same problem. Although, I did discover that if I did only INSERT, the process went much faster. I am pretty sure that the bottleneck is caused by the UPDATE statements. The primary key in dimUser is an auto-increment integer. My friend suggested that I scrap this primary key and replace it with a multi-field primary key (in my case, 2-3 fields). Before I rip the test data out of my warehouse and change the schema, can anyone provide suggestions or guidelines related to the design of the data warehouse the ETL process how realistic it is to have an ETL process INSERT or UPDATE a few million records each day will my friend's suggestion significantly help If you need any further information, just let me know and I'll post it. Since, from a business perspective, I want to keep aware of potential fraudulent activity (say for 200 days a user is associated with state X and then the next day they are associated with state Y - they could have moved or their account could have been compromised), so that is why geographic data is kept. The field id_B may have a few distinct values of id_A associated with it, but I am interested in knowing distinct (id_A, id_B) tuples. In the context of this information, my friend suggested that something like (id_A, id_B, zip_code) be the primary key. For the large majority of daily ETL processes (80%), I only expect the following fields to be updated for existing records: field_10 - field_14, last_update, and run_id (this field is a foreign key to my etlLog table and is used for ETL auditing purposes).

• SQL: Using a CASE Statement to update a 1000 rows at once, how??

  Ok, I would like to use a CASE STATEMENT for this, but I am lost with this. Basically, I need to update a ton of rows, but just on the "position" column. I need to update all "position" values from 0 - count(position) for each id_layout_position column per id_layout column. Here's what I got for a regular update, but I don't wanna throw this into a foreach loop, as it would take forever to do it. • Many to many self join through junction table

  I have an EF model that can self-reference through an intermediary class to define a parent/child relationship. I know how to do a pure many-to-many relationship using the Map command, but for some reason going through this intermediary class is causing problems with my mappings. The intermediary class provides additional properties for the relationship. If I build it without the modelBinder logic in place then I get two ID columns for Child and two ID columns for Parent in my ChildRecord table. This makes sense since it tries to auto create the navigation properties from Equipment and doesn't know that there are already properties in ChildRecord to fulfill this need. • How to force a page refresh or reload in jQuery?

  The code below displays a google map and search results when you enter an address and hit the submit button. I've been playing with it to try and force the page to completely refresh or reload once you hit the submit button. But I can't get it to work right. It loads the results "in page," but I'd like the page to completely refresh when the results load, like when you hit the back button on your browser. Hope that makes sense. I think the answer lies in this line of code but I don't know jquery very well. • ANDROID: inside Service class, executing a method for Toast (or Status Bar notification) from schedu

  I am trying to execute a {public void} method in Service, from scheduled TimerTask which is periodically executing. This TimerTask periodically checks a condition. If it's true, it calls method via {className}.{methodName}; However, as Java requires, the method needs to be {pubic static} method, if I want to use {className} with {.dot} The problem is this method is for notification using Toast(Android pop-up notification) and Status Bar To use these notifications, one must use Context context = getApplicationContext(); But for this to work, the method must not have {static} modifier and resides in Service class. So, basically, I want background Service to evaluate condition from scheduled TimerTask, and execute a method in Service class. Can anyone help me what's the right way to use Service, invoking a method when certain condition is satisfied while looping evaluation?
