  I need a little help putting together a SQL query that will give me the following resultsets: and The data model looks like this: The tricky part for me is that the columns to the right of the "Product" in the resultset are really columns in the database but rather key/value pairs spanned across the data model. Table data is as follows: My apologies in advance for the image heavy question and the image quality. This just seemed like the easiest way to convey the information. It'll probably take someone less time to write the query statement to achieve the results. By the way, the "product_option" table image is truncated but it illustrated the general idea of the data structure. The MySQL server version is 5.1.45.

  Hi, here is the problem case i am writing a little third party library. In this library i have a class like this public class TestClass { public int TestField { get; private set; } public TestClass( ) { TestField = 1; } } Then i have a varialbe form this class like this public TestClass test = new TestClass( ); The problem i am facing is that usnig reflection like this PropertyInfo field = typeof( TestClass ).GetProperty( "TestField" ); field.SetValue( test, 2, null ); programers can change internal value of this class. this will be very bad thing becouse it can crash the hole library. My question is what is the best way to protect my code form such changes.I know i can use some kind of bool flag so tha value can be changed only ones but this is not very good salution is there a better one?   So I'm a little confused by this terminology. Everyone refers to "Asynchronous" computing as running different processes on seperate threads, which gives the illusion that these processes are running at the same time. This is not the definition of the word asynchronous. a·syn·chro·nous –adjective 1. not occurring at the same time. 2. (of a computer or other electrical machine) having each operation started only after the preceding operation is completed. What am I not understanding here?

  Hello, I have a little problem with my java-program. I wanna use Observer, to synchronize two GUIs. But I can't synchronize the JComponent / JButton elements. For example: I have a GUI-Class which implements the Observer-Class: public class GUI extends JFrame implements Observer I have a second "GUI"-Class which extends the JButton-Class and makes changes on a specific Button-Element. public class Karte extends JButton{ ... this.setEnabled(false); ... How do I synchronize this Button via Observable? I have already tried to use "extends Observable" in this class, but the "setEnabled()" method is explicit for the JButton-Class, which is not Observable! Can someone help? Thanks.

• Resources for Win32 C/C++ programming

  I have experience in a variety of languages (Java, Perl, C#, PHP, javascript, ansi-C for microprocessors, Objective-C and others), with Win32 programming not being an area I've done a lot of work in. Now part of my job entails maintaining a large Win32 codebase that stretches back 15 years and includes everything from C written originally for Win95 to MFC to COM to 64-bit code for Win7 to C++ using Boost and so on. If there's a variation on how to do something it's in there. Are there any good Win32 C/C++ references that discuss both the proper way to do things today and give you a little sense of how things evolved? Something like this discussion of all the various boolean types, or how to approach the API monstrosity of simply copying a string. I don't see my career heading too far down this path, but I do like to understand what I'm working with and I think this is an important part of programming history. thanks, Eric

  I'm starting on a Scala application which uses Hibernate (JPA) on the back end. In order to load an object, I use this line of code: val addr = s.load(classOf[Address], addr_id).asInstanceOf[Address]; Needless to say, that's a little painful. I wrote a helper class which looks like this: import org.hibernate.Session class DataLoader(s: Session) { def loadAddress(id: Long): Address = { return s.load(classOf[Address], id).asInstanceOf[Address]; } ... } So, now I can do this: val dl = new DataLoader(s) val addr = dl loadAddress(addr_id) Here's the question: How do I write a generic parametrized method which can load any object using this same pattern? i.e val addr = dl load[Address](addr_id) (or something along those lines.) I'm new to Scala so please forgive anything here that's especially hideous.

  I have a simple little code fragment that is frustrating me: HashSet<long> groupUIDs = new HashSet<long>(); groupUIDs.Add(uid)? unique++ : dupes++; At compile time, it generates the error: Only assignment, call, increment, decrement, and new object expressions can be used as a statement HashSet.Add is documented to return a bool, so the ternary (?) operator should work, and this looks like a completely legitimate way to track the number of unique and duplicate items I add to a hash-set. When I reformat it as a if-then-else, it works fine. Can anyone explain the error, and if there is a way to do this as a simple ternary operator?

  Question With the following linq code snip I get a list of clients with address filtered by the specifications but the form of the entities returned is not what i had expected. The data is 1 client with 2 addresses and 1 client with 1 address. The query returns 3 rows of clients each with 1 address Client 1 = Address1 Client 1 = Address2 Client 2 = Address3 var query = from t1 in context.Clients.Where(specification.SatisfiedBy()).Include("ClientAddresses") join t2 in context.ClientAddresses.Where(spec.SatisfiedBy()) on t1.ClientKey equals t2.ClientKey select t1; My expectation was a little more like a list with only two clients in it, one client with a collection of two addresses and one client with a collection of one address. I'm still getting used to all the web technologies used for developing modern web sites and everywhere I look, I see cool little UI elements and question how they're implemented.   Hi everyone, I am working on python right now and i am little bit stuck in performing some tricks. I have web form with two options- File upload and textarea, i can easily pass file name with file upload options but have problem when it's textarea. Because when i use textarea then first i have to save values passed from textarea to some files and save it on the working directory. After that i can execute commandline argument and pass same saved filename name. For this problem i have to generate unique file first and save the values passed from textarea in it. Can anybody give me some tips to solve my problem. Any algorithms, suggestions and lines of code are appreciated. Thanks for your concern

  In C#, Say you have an array of strings, which contain only characters '0' and '1': string[] input = { "0101", "101", "11", "010101011" }; And you'd like to build a function: public void IdentifySubstrings(string[] input) { ... } That will produce the following: "0101 is a substring of 010101011" "101 is a substring of 0101" "101 is a substring of 010101011" "11 is a substring of 010101011" And you are NOT able to use built-in string functionality (such as String.Substring). How would one efficiently solve this problem? Of course you could plow through it via brute force, but it just feels like there ought to be a way to accomplish it with a tree (since the only values are 0's and 1's, it feels like a binary tree ought to fit somehow). I've read a little bit about things like suffix trees, but I'm uncertain if that's the right path to be going down. Any efficient solutions you can think of?

This is little strange to me why if-statement is in this aspect treated worse than for-loop?   Hi, I have to complete a timer on powerpoint, it countsdown for a specificed amount of time when a shape on particular slide is clicked. I heard macros could be a way to do this, but I have very little knowledge about them. With my research I was able to add a macro and pop out a message box when a shape is clicked*. How can I implement a timer with this? VB syntax is pretty unfamiliar to me. • Need generated UML diagrams for C++ plugin modules

  I need various UML diagrams (sequence/collaboration, class, package, and system component) from some C++ files. However, these files are plugins in a larger programming framework. I have tried generating UML from Rational Rose 7 (2002 version), but I am not very experienced and I am unsure if RR simply cannot produce the diagram, I am doing something wrong, or the diagrams are not rendering correctly because the source files are plugins instead of standalone programs. I have also tried Star Modeler with little success and there seem to be no tutorials on how to generate these models. Is there a simple, bulletproof way to get UML diagrams for C++ files?

  Hi, how do I insert a listener to Firefox http requests and responses, so that I popup a window with the address requested and the response body? Note: I have to do this building an extension to Firefox. I need a button to activate or disable the feature. For every request, I need to popup a window with an "Ok" button to allow the request to be made. Likewise, I need to popup a window with the response body from the web server, with an "Ok" button to allow the content to be displayed by the browser. I know that I have to use nsIHttpChannel, as shown here, but I don't know where to put such code on the extention's architecture. I have very little knowledge about javascript. Could anyone help me?

Here, we are overriding printVal() method, so that is understandable that it is accessing child class method only. But I could not understand why it's accessing the value of x from Super class...   Hello Stackoverflow Team, This is just a suggestion to you. In the first place i must say that you guys are doing a great job. I suggest that you build into the forum system a mail notifier(to notify users whenever there is a move/deletion of a post with the reason of the move/deletion) so that whenever you move or removed someone's post then he can be notified about the move, so that we don't spend time looking for posts that are removed. I think by so doing the number of duplicate posts and mistakes from users can be minimized. The reason is i spent hours searching through the posts to locate my posts that you have re/moved. That is why i was a little bit upset. Sorry if here is the wrong place to post my suggestion. Point me to the right place. Thanks for your work.

• Eclipse - Ouline View - Turn Off Filtering

  Hi. I recently installed Eclipse on my new computer, and this installation somewhat filters the class members. I think it is somehow related to the Outline, but i couldn't find any settings related to it. The thing is that when i, for example, have an error in a method, and click on the little red square on the margin, eclipse shows me only that method, and nothing else. When i then click on the class name in the outline panel, eclipse shows me the class without import declarations. I can, of course, click on the import declarations in the outline panel, but then i get only them. When I want to jump to the declaration of some method by command-clicking that method's name, I again get only that method on the screen. It is really annoying. Can anyone please help me fix it?   Hi all, the business logic in my application requires me to insert a row in table X when a row is inserted in table Y. Furthermore, it should only do it between specific times(which I have to query another table for). I have considered running a script every 5 minutes or so to check this, but I stumbled upon triggers and figured this might be a better way to do it. But I find the syntax for procedures a little bewildering and I keep getting an error I have no idea how to fix. Here is where I start: CREATE TRIGGER reservation_auto_reply AFTER INSERT ON reservation FOR EACH ROW BEGIN IF NEW.sent_type = 1 /* In-App */ THEN INSERT INTO `messagehistory` (`trip`, `fk`, `sent_time`, `status`, `message_type`, `message`) VALUES (NEW.trip, NEW.psk, 'NOW()', 'submitted', 4, 'This is an automated reply to reservation'); END; I get an error in the VALUES part of the statmenet but im not sure where. I still have to query the other table for the information I need, but I can't even get past this part. Any help is appreciated, including links to many examples..Thanks

  Hi! I'm using winforms. I spend a lot of time drawing forms (maybe not a lot, but it is a boring task). To sum up... I want to develop a simple aplication that connect to a sql server database, let the user to select a table, and put the controls in a form for me (generate the designer code), based on the tipe of each column. Then my app will name each control like the column of the table, set the maxlengh property (if the type is varchar), and create a label with the same text near the control. If the column is a FK, then the app will draw a combobox and so on. I saw that Telerik Open ORM make something like this, but I only need a simple app for the IU Generation. If the same day I finish my little application I discover a tool that make the same... I will feel myself stupid :D Are there any tool out there that do this work for me? Thanks
