    I have been using hook_alter to modify forms in a custom PHP module. I started to take the same approach modifying the result page of "node add" form. However this page is not a form so I don't have a form ID to hook on to. Actually it contains a login form, but that does not contain the elements that I am looking for, What approach should I use in this situation?

    Is there a way how modules can listen to parent application event? My current solution that works is: private function directoryRemoteObject_saveCompany_resultHandler(e:ResultEvent):void { this.directoryModuleLoader.child.dispatchEvent(new CompanyEvent(CompanyEvent.COMPANY_SAVED, e.result as int)); } this means that I need to dispatch event for every module.   • how to kill (or avoid) zombie processes with subprocess module

    When I kick off a python script from within another python script using the subprocess module, a zombie process is created when the subprocess "completes". I am unable to kill this subprocess unless I kill my parent python process. Is there a way to kill the subprocess without killing the parent? I know I can do this by using wait(), but I need to run my script with no_wait().

  • Drupal Module Development: How to Communicate between form_submit and page handler functions

    I am writing a module and I need to retrieve values set in a form_submit function from a page handler function. The reason is that I am rendering results of a form submit on the same page as the page handler. I have this working, but I am using global variables, which I don't like. I'd like to be able to use the $form_state['storage'] for this, but can't since I don't have access to the $form_state variable from the page handler. Any suggestions?

    I am using SharpDevelop to build an executable from my IronPython script. The only hitch is that my script has the line import random which works fine when I run the script through ipy.exe, but when I attempt to build and run an exe from the script in SharpDevelop, I always get the message: IronPython.Runtime.Exceptions.ImportException: No module named random Why isn't SharpDevelop 'seeing' random? How can I make it see it?

  • Google's Opinion on Javascript Page Refresh

    I was wondering if anyone knows Google's view on this. My company has a homepage that features a lot of 3rd parties on it and it needs to inform customers which ones are currently online, which aren't, and which are currently busy. Because this constantly changes, we have the homepage refresh to show the most relevant and up-to-date content to our users. I'm not using a meta refresh element in the http-equiv parameter to do this. Instead I have this js element to refresh the page: window.setTimeout("refreshPage()", 120000); I just want to know whether people think Google might consider this a violation of the content guidelines or not. Or if it's not an outright violation, then at least if Google frowns on this or not. It doesn't redirect the user to a different page or anything, just refreshes the page so that they can see the most relevant content.
