• How do I implement IDataServiceMetadataProvider and tell my Data Service to use that custom provider

  There's no obvious entry point for implementing a custom provider for an ADO.NET Data Service using IDataServiceMetadataProvider, and then telling a Data Service to use that provider. Has anyone had any luck in this area? I've tried implementing this interface on my Data Source class, but none of my breakpoints are hit. There is also no (obvious) way to set the provider from the Data Service's DataServiceConfiguration parameter passed in to the InitializeService function. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! • Calling oracle stored procedure from Excel - VBA

  I have to execute an Oracle stored procedure from vba (Excel) with around 38 input parameters. The stored procedure will insert some values in the destination table once that is executed. When it is executed through VBA the number of fields which is inserted is less than when it is executed directly from the backend (oracle). For example it is creating around 17 fields of records while executing directly from the back end. (I have created a wrapper class in the back-end and passing the same parameter values in the back-end.). It is creating around 15 fields of records while executing from the excel VBA in the destination table. Kindly let me know what could be the possible reasons for this.

• Select image iphone simulator using phonegap camera api

  I'm new to Xcode and iPhone apps. I want to select an image from iPhone (camera or library) and send to php via ajax. http://wiki.phonegap.com/iPhone:-Camera-API I'm using the phonegap framework, Xcode iPhone SDK version 3.1.x. On clicking button it calls function with parameter 0 or 1, but it does not initialize camera or display the library. I used the same code as in the above link. it shows this error in debug console: 2010-03-25 23:36:02.337 PhoneGap[7433:207] Camera.getPicture: Camera not available. simulator dsnt have camera, but photos(from library) also not wokring! what might be the error? i think when using navigator.camera.getPicture first check for camera and if not break and shws error ~?

How can i do it? 2)If i do the following thing then some part of my string gets printed on one line and some on next.   BACKGROUND Am writing a WinForm app that uses the SSRS Report Viewer control to render reports in local mode - there is no SSRS server involved at all I can successully create and execute reports in local mode What I want to do is add Parameters to the report THE PROBLEM When the Report Viewer control executes a report in local mode it does not provide any UI that allows the user to enter values for parameters defined in the report This is in contrast to to when the Report Viewer control is running a server report - parameters are shown. MY QUESTION Are there pre-built components or even sample code I can use that would provide a reasonble parameter user experience for this scenario (scenario = SSRS + Report Viewer Control + Local Mode)? Yes, I could write this UI code myself - what I am looking for is existing code to avoid having to implement this UI because I'd rather spend my time making the content of the report work well NOTES Switching to another reporting engine besides SSRS is not an option. Switching to server side reports is not an option.

  In the query the top part is getting all the years that will run in the stored procedure. • JodaTime DateFormatter to display milliseconds if nonzero

  I want to display a list of dates that may or may not have milliseconds on them. If a certain entry has milliseconds, then it should be displayed like yyyy MM dd HH:mm:ss.SSS. If it doesn't have the millis, I need it displayed as yyyy MM dd HH:mm:ss. I suppose the general question is: Is there a way to describe an optional format string parameter? (I'd like to avoid refactoring all of the places that I use formatters since this is a large code base.)

• Debug an Eclipse plugin in a different language?

  I'm trying to debug an Eclipse plug-in when it is running in another language (japanese). The problem I'm encountering is: I can't get the Eclipse debugger to run another Eclipse instance in another language. I've got all my strings externalized to resource bundles ... and, when the plug-in is installed in Eclipse on a machine that has it's default language set to Japanese, it runs OK ... but there are a few problems that I need to resolve. I've tried setting the Eclipse -nl parameter to ja_JP along with '-Duser.language=ja -Duser.country=JP' on the VM arguments, but every time Eclipse is launched, everything is in English. Any suggestions on how I can get the debugger to launch the Eclipse instance in Japanese?

• How to configure a session timeout for Grails application?

  In one of controllers in my Grails application I'm preserving a parameter value in a session variable like this: session.myVariable = params.myValue After that, I can access the saved value from different controllers/GSP-pages as long as I actively use the app. However, if I don't use my app for a while, even though my browser window is still open, the session variable looses it's value. Does this happens because the session expires? I was under impression that a session lives until the browser window is still open, but apparently I was wrong. What should I do to ensure all session variables I define in my Grails app don't expire until the browser is closed? Is there any way to set session timeout manually? • Blacklight Expander problem while expanding programmatically

  Hi, I am doing a silverlight project in Silverlight 4 and I included the BlackLight project in my project so that I could use their new controls, especialy the dockpanel and the autoexpander, which is causing me at the moment some little problems. What I would like to do is to have several auto-expander that will expand or collapsed when I click on button. In my case more specifically, each auto-expander have a set of parameter to fill, which in turn will fill the other expander and the current one would collaps and the just filled one would expand. The idea is simple, yet when I use a button which is on one of my expander, it only works once... It would expand/collapse the first time, then after that, nothing. I trace the code and it seems to go through just fine, but the property value won't change Here is my code Private Sub BtnExpand_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs) Handles BtnExpand.Click ClientExpander.IsExpanded = False ProjetExpander.IsExpanded = True End Sub Could it be a known bug, or must I reset some flags to make it work? • Instance validation error: '2' is not a valid value for QueryType. (web service)

  I have a web service that I am passing an enum public enum QueryType { Inquiry = 1 Maintainence = 2 } When I pass an object that has a Parameter of QueryType on it, I get the error back from the web service saying that '2' is not a valid value for QueryType, when you can clearly see from the declaration of the enum that it is. I cannot change the values of the enum because legacy applications use the values, but I would rather not have to insert a "default" value just to push the index of the enum to make it work with my web service. It acts like the web service is using the index of the values rather than the values themselves. Does anybody have a suggestion of what I can do to make it work, is there something I can change in my WSDL?

  Hi, I'm generating proxy using svcutil tool. My contract methods return objects of particular type. However generated proxy client interface has return value of type object. What is more I get exception with message: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[System.ServiceModel.ExceptionDetail] : The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:name. The InnerException message was 'XML 'Element' 'http://tempuri.org/:name' does not contain expected attribute 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/:Type'. The deserializer has no knowledge of which type to deserialize. Check that the type being serialized has the same contract as the type being deserialized.'. Please see InnerException for more details. Any ideas what's going on?

  The following test case passes in .NET 4.0: var fiT = new FileInfo("myhappyfilename"); Assert.IsNotNull(fiT); ... but fails in Silverlight 4.0 with the following error: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: format at System.String.Format(IFormatProvider provider, String format, Object[] args) at System.Environment.GetResourceString(String key, Object[] values) at System.IO.FileSecurityState.EnsureState() at System.IO.FileInfo.Init(String fileName, Boolean checkHost) at System.IO.FileInfo..ctor(String fileName) Either the failure is a bug in SL 4.0, or the non-failure is a bug in .NET 4.0. Anyone know which it is? (For the record, I'm running SL 4.0 on VS 2010 RC, which may be contributing to the problem).

• PHP: Set max_file_uploads for one file rather than php.ini

  Like many variables in PHP using ini_set() on a page doesn't actually work. I've recently upgraded my PHP version and found that my multiple image uploader is now capped. After 3 hours of frustration, I've found that my new PHP install has the new "max_file_uploads" parameter set to "20". So only the first 7 images get uploaded (each is in three sizes, 7*3=21). I can now change my php.ini value of "max_file_uploads" to 300, but I'd rather not do that side wide. Is there any way to set that value just for a single file (upload.php)? Could a .htaccess file be used for this?

• RadGrid cannot pass sortExpression to ObjectDataSourceControl

  I have a Telerik RadGrid that bound to a datasource object. They are configured to support custom paging, sorting. For paging, only the data of a page is retrieved from the database. Before sorting, it works fine. The select method of the datasource is like public List<xxx> Select(string sortExpression, int maximumRows, int startRowIndex) {} Before sorting the sortExpression is empty, which is expected. But after use click sort, in the OnSortCommand event handler of Radgrid, the SortExpression is correct, indicating RadGrid has caputre user's sorting correctly. protected void OnSort(object source, GridSortCommandEventArgs e) { Console.WriteLine(e.SortExpression); // correct } But what is strange is that the RadGrid does not pass parameter to DataSource correctly this time. sortExpression is still empty, maximumRows became int.Max, and startRowIndex is 0. The the sorting in still render correctly, but grid ask datasource to get all data and do the sorting locally. Is this bug of RadGrid or my configuration is wrong?

• CakePHP: find neighbors, order on 'name' or 'order'

  Hi, I have a list of ordered items, ordered according to the int field order. I'm creating a gallery in CakePHP 1.2 that has a prev and next button and those should link to the previous and next item according to their ordering, not according to their id. In order to get this result I've included the 'order' parameter to the find function, and populated it with 'Item.order'=>'DESC'. Still the result is an id ordered list. My question is: what do I do wrong? My controller: $this->Item->id = 16; $neighbours = $this->Item->find('neighbors', array('order'=>array('Item.order'=>'DESC'), 'fields'=>array('id','name')));
