  • Windows 7 - Enable Network DTC Access

    - by Russ Clark
I have a Visual Studio 2010 Windows Forms application in which I start a transaction using the TransactionScope class. I then Receive a message from a Sql Server Broker Services message queue, which works fine. I next try to call a stored procedure from the same database with a call to my data access layer which is a Visual Studio dataset (xsd file). When I make this second call to the database I get the following error message: The MSDTC transaction manager was unable to pull the transaction from the source transaction manager due to communication problems. Possible causes are: a firewall is present and it doesn't have an exception for the MSDTC process, the two machines cannot find each other by their NetBIOS names, or the support for network transactions is not enabled for one of the two transaction managers. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8004D02B). I've seen several posts on the web that talk about Enabling DTC access through dcomcnfg.exe, and allowing DTC to communicate through Windows Firewall. I've done those things, and am still having this problem. I know our remote database server is setup to Enable DTC access, because we are using similar transactions in other projects built with Visual Studio 2008 on Windows XP and Vista. I think there is something specific about Windows 7 and Visual Studio 2010 causing this problem, but haven't been able to find out what it is. Can anyone help with this problem?

  • ExtJS GridPanel Scrollbar does not appear in IE7 but it does in Firefox, etc

    - by Snowright
Setup I have an accordion layout containing a "properties" panel that nests two inner panels. The first inner panel holds a Ext.DataView, while the second panel is the Ext.grid.GridPanel in question. In the screenshot below, the white space containing the folder icon is the dataview, and below that is the gridpanel. Problem In Firefox, Chrome, and Opera, there is a scrollbar that appears when my gridpanel has an overflow of properties. It is only in Internet Explorer that it does not appear. I am, however, able to scroll using my mouse scroll button in all browsers, including IE. I've also tried removing our custom css file in case it was affecting it somehow, but there was no change in doing so. I'm not sure exactly what code I should show as I don't know where the exact problem is coming from but here is the code for the mainpanel and gridpanel. var mainPanel = new Ext.Panel({ id : 'main-property-panel', title : 'Properties', height : 350, autoWidth : true, tbar : [comboPropertyActions], items : [panel1] //panel1 holds the DataView }); var propertiesGrid = new Ext.grid.GridPanel({ stripeRows : true, height : mainPanel.getSize().height-iconDataView.getSize().height-mainPanel.getFrameHeight(), autoWidth : true, store : propertiesStore, cm : propertiesColumnModel }) //Add gridpanel to mainPanel mainPanel.add(propertiesGrid); mainPanel.doLayout(); Any help into the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • jQuery autocomplete - update options on dynamically created elements

    - by Ian Robinson
Background The user enters values into multiple inputs on the page. Think of entering a list of widgets for sale. The user would select the type of a widget from a drop down. Then enter the name of the Widget vendor, and then the actual name of the widget. These UI elements would all appear as one row. The user is able to click an "add another widget" link and a new row is created. The two input elements have autocomplete functionality attached to them using the DevBridge jQuery plugin. It suggests the name of the vendor and the name of the widget. I have recently wired up the logic to filter the name of the widget based on the name of the vendor you entered. This means setting the (custom) vendorName parameter when attaching the autocomplete plugin so it can be passed to the server side to retrieve the widget names for that vendor that match the name the user entered. To achieve this functionality I'm dynamically attaching the autocomplete functionality to the second element (the widget name text box) when it receives focus. Here is an example: $('.autocomplete-widget').live('focus', function () { $(this).autocomplete({ serviceUrl: '/something.ashx', params: { type: 'widget', vendorName: $(this).parent().prev().find('.autocomplete-vendor').val()} }); }); Problem At first glance, this looks to function quite well. However I started noticing some inconsistencies, and upon inspection, I found out that the call to the server is actually happening several times in some cases. Each time the widget name input element receives focus the autocomplete functionality is attached. And what I'm seeing is that the call to the server is made in proportion to how many times the input element has gained focus. I'd like to avoid making the call more than once, but retain the ability to attach (or update) the autocomplete functionality "on focus". I've tried to use the autocomplete 'setOptions' method but have only been able to get it to work with the static elements, not the dynamically created elements. Question Is there a way I can clear out the autocomplete functionality before I attach another one?

  • Using oauth2_access_token to get connections in linkedIn

    - by Pedro
I'm trying to get the connections in linkedIn using their API, but when I try to retrieve the connections I get a 401 unauthorized error. in the official documentation says You must use an access token to make an authenticated call on behalf of a user Make the API calls You can now use this access_token to make API calls on behalf of this user by appending "oauth2_access_token=access_token" at the end of the API call that you wish to make. The API call that I'm trying to do is the following Error -- http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~/connections:(id,headline,first-name,last-name)?format=json&oauth2_access_token=access_token I have tried to do it with the following endpoint without any problems. OK -- https://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~:(id,first-name,last-name,formatted-name,date-of-birth,industry,email-address,location,headline,picture-urls::(original))?format=json&oauth2_access_token=access_token this list of endpoints for the connections API are described here http://developer.linkedin.com/documents/connections-api I just copied and pasted one endpoint from there, so the question is what's the problem with the endpoint for getting the connections? what am I missing? EDIT: for the preAuth Url I'm using https://www.linkedin.com/uas/oauth2/authorization?response_type=code&client_id=ConsumerKey&scope=r_fullprofile%20r_emailaddress%20r_network&state&state=NewGuid&redirect_uri=Encoded_Url https://www.linkedin.com/uas/oauth2/accessToken?grant_type=authorization_code&code=QueryString_Code&redirect_uri=EncodedCallback&client_id=ConsummerKey&client_secret=ConsumerSecret please find attached the login screen requesting the permissions EDIT2: Switched to https and worked like a charm!

  • PHPUnit XDebug required

    - by poru
    Hello, I finished installation of PHPUnit, it works but I don't get a code coverage report. I'm working on windows. My phpunit.xml <phpunit bootstrap="./application/bootstrap.php" colors="false"> <testsuite name="Application"> <directory>./</directory> </testsuite> <filter> <whitelist> <directory suffix=".php">./application</directory> <directory suffix=".php">./library/Application</directory> <exclude> <directory suffix=".php">../application/libraries/Zend</directory> <directory suffix=".php">../application/controllers</directory> <directory suffix=".phtml">./application/</directory> <file>./application/Bootstrap.php</file> </exclude> </whitelist> </filter> <logging> <log type="coverage-html" target="./log/report" charset="UTF-8" yui="true" highlight="true" lowUpperBound="50" highLowerBound="80" /> <log type="testdox" target="./log/testdox.html" /> </logging> If I run on cmd phpunit --configuration phpunit.xml it works so far, but PHPUnit doesn't create a code coverage report. If I run phpunit --configuration phpunit.xml --coverage-html \log or phpunit --configuration phpunit.xml --coverage-html log I get the error The Xdebug extension is not loaded. But I installed it (version 2.0.5)! phpinfo() says I installed it, also var_dump(extension_loaded('xdebug')) I get true. I installed it as Zend Extension and I tried also as normal extension. Bot worked, but PHPUnit says everytime Xdebug is not loaded!

  • how does scrolling in android listview work?

    - by gartenkralleb
hi, i have an android-app with a listview in an activity. the listview has, if i call it so, three data states. no data loaded from inet - only one dummy item is visible, saying that data is loading data is loaded and shown in list one listitem is clicked and now shows more information for this listitem (so it is increased in its height) on every state change (1 - 2, 2 - 3) i call notifyDataSetChanged() on this ListAdapater. this causes the listview to scroll down to the last item. this is ugly in the first transition and even more ugly in the second because the clicked list item is now out of focus. as i can see, this happens with a google g1 with android 1.6. a htc touch with the same sdk acts like desired (i try to figure it out with some more devices). to avoid this i tried to read out getScrollY() and set this value back. but this returns 0. the reason for this return value i already found on stackoverflow in other qutestions. does anyone else comes along with my problem so far? why does the listview scrolls to the last item? it was mentioned, that listview does keep track on the scroll position. but it seems that it does not in my case. or may i call the wrong refresh method? is notifyDataSetChanged the correct one?

  • Dozer deep mapping not working

    - by user363900
I am trying to use dozer to map between classes. I have a source class that looks like this: public class initRequest{ protected String id; protected String[] details } I have a destination class that looks like this: public class initResponse{ protected String id; protected DetailsObject detObj; } public class DetailsObject{ protected List<String> details; } So essentially i want the string in the details array to be populated into the List in the Details object. • jQuery UI Dialog pass on variables

    - by Dante
Hi, I'm creating a Web interface for a table in Mysql and want to use jQuery dialog for input and edit. I have the following code to start from: $("#content_new").dialog({ autoOpen: false, height: 350, width: 300, modal: true, buttons: { 'Create an account': function() { alert('add this product'); }, Cancel: function() { $(this).dialog('close'); $.validationEngine.closePrompt(".formError",true); } }, closeText: "Sluiten", title: "Voeg een nieuw product toe", open: function(ev, ui) { /* get the id and fill in the boxes */ }, close: function(ev, ui) { $.validationEngine.closePrompt(".formError",true); } }); $("#newproduct").click(function(){ $("#content_new").dialog('open'); }); $(".editproduct").click(function(){ var test = this.id; alert("id = " + test); }); So when a link with the class 'editproduct' is clicked it gets the id from that product and I want it to get to the open function of my dialog. Am I on the right track and can someone help me getting that variable there. Thanks in advance.

  • SSRS 2005 Set SimplePageHeaders on the report instead of the server?

    - by Adam
I have one report that does not export to excel friendly from SSRS 2005. I know I can use <Render> <Extension Name="EXCEL" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.ExcelRenderer.ExcelRenderer,Microsoft.ReportingServices.ExcelRendering"> <Configuration> <DeviceInfo> <SimplePageHeaders>True</SimplePageHeaders> </DeviceInfo> </Configuration> </Extension> </Render> in the rsreportserver.config, but I am not the only person with reports on this machine. I also found that you can pass &rc:SimplePageHeaders=True in the url to export the report programatically. I tried adding the &rc:SimplePageHeaders=True to the end of the url when navigating to the report manager, but when I select excel from the dropdown and click export the headers are still exported. I even tried setting the rc:Command=Render and rc:Format=EXCEL in the url too without any luck. Is there a way to do what I am trying to do? note: I am wanting to render the report on the built in report manager and use the build in export to excel dropdown, not in an app or website.

  • Serializing java objects with respect to xml schema loaded at runtime

    - by kohomologie
I call an XML document three-layered if its structure is laid out as following: the root element contains some container elements (I'll call them entities), each of them has some simpleType elements inside (I'll call them properties). Something like that: <data> <spaceship> <number>1024</number> <name>KTHX</name> </spaceship> <spaceship> <number>1624</number> <name>LEXX</name> </spaceship> <knife> <length>10</length> </knife> </data> where spaceship is an entity, and number is a property. My problem is stated below: Given schema: an arbitrary xsd file describing a three-layered document, loaded at runtime. xmlDocument: an xml document conforming to the schema. Create A Map<String, Map <String, Object>> containing data from the xmlDocument, where first key corresponds to entity, second key correponds to this entity's property, and the value corresponds to this property's value, after casting it to a proper java type (for example, if the schema sets the property value to be xs:int, then it should be cast to Integer). What is the easiest way to achieve this result with existing libraries? P. S. JAXB is not really an option here. The schema might be arbitrary and unknown at compile-time. Also I wish to avoid an excessive use of reflection (associated with converting the beans to maps). I'm looking for something that would allow me to make the typecasts while xml is being parsed.

  • Suppress Null Value Types from Being Emitted by XmlSerializer

    - by Ben Griswold
Please consider the following Amount value type property which is marked as a nullable XmlElement: [XmlElement(IsNullable=true)] public double? Amount { get ; set ; } When a nullable value type is set to null, the C# XmlSerializer result looks like the following: <amount xsi:nil="true" /> Rather than emitting this element, I would like the XmlSerializer to suppress the element completely. Why? We're using Authorize.NET for online payments and Authorize.NET rejects the request if this null element exists. The current solution/workaround is to not serialize the Amount value type property at all. Instead we have created a complementary property, SerializableAmount, which is based on Amount and is serialized instead. Since SerializableAmount is of type String, which like reference types are suppressed by the XmlSerializer if null by default, everything works great. /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the amount. /// </summary> [XmlIgnore] public double? Amount { get; set; } /// <summary> /// Gets or sets the amount for serialization purposes only. /// This had to be done because setting value types to null /// does not prevent them from being included when a class /// is being serialized. When a nullable value type is set /// to null, such as with the Amount property, the result /// looks like: &gt;amount xsi:nil="true" /&lt; which will /// cause the Authorize.NET to reject the request. Strings /// when set to null will be removed as they are a /// reference type. /// </summary> [XmlElement("amount", IsNullable = false)] public string SerializableAmount { get { return this.Amount == null ? null : this.Amount.ToString(); } set { this.Amount = Convert.ToDouble(value); } } Of course, this is just a workaround. Is there a cleaner way to suppress null value type elements from being emitted?

  • How to programmatically show & hide BalloonPopupExtender?

    - by Danferd
I have a page that will be having few buttons that will redirect user to certain pages that required them to login before to proceed to the page. I would like to have something like, when user click on the button that required login and if user is not logged in prior to the click, a tooltip will show up beside the 'User ID' textbox to inform user to login in order to proceed. So, I implemented the jQuery Tooltipster in the page to show the tooltip message. I'm having problem on IE8 in Windows XP where the first click on the button, the tooltip would show up, but the second click it wouldn't then the third click, it shows up again and then the fourth click, it wouldn't! But for IE8 in Windows 7, IE9 & IE10, they have no such problem. Any idea how to fix this? The 'imgBtnKISS' & 'lnkBtnKISS' buttons are located in a content page but the tooltip and the 'User ID' textbox are in a master page. Below is the code that how I call the tooltip: function loginAlertMsg() { $('.tooltip').tooltipster({ trigger: 'custom', position: 'left', onlyOne: false, content: 'Login required! Please login to proceed.' }); $('#ctl00_txtID').tooltipster('show'); $('#ctl00_txtID').focus(); } Private Sub KISS_Click() Handles imgBtnKISS.Click, lnkBtnKISS.Click If Not bIsRefresh Then '==Detect User Login Status== Session(sesClickFromIcon) = toKISS If Session(USR.sesLogin) Is Nothing Then '//User NOT LOGIN. • again about JPA/Hibernate bulk(batch) insert

    - by abovesun
Here is simple example I've created after reading several topics about jpa bulk inserts, I have 2 persistent objects User, and Site. One user could have many site, so we have one to many relations here. Suppose I want to create user and create/link several sites to user account. Here is how code looks like, considering my willing to use bulk insert for Site objects. User user = new User("John Doe"); user.getSites().add(new Site("google.com", user)); user.getSites().add(new Site("yahoo.com", user)); EntityTransaction tx = entityManager.getTransaction(); tx.begin(); entityManager.persist(user); tx.commit(); But when I run this code (I'm using hibernate as jpa implementation provider) I see following sql output: Hibernate: insert into User (id, name) values (null, ?) Hibernate: call identity() Hibernate: insert into Site (id, url, user_id) values (null, ?, ?) Hibernate: call identity() Hibernate: insert into Site (id, url, user_id) values (null, ?, ?) Hibernate: call identity() So, I means "real" bulk insert not works or I am confused? Here is source code for this example project, this is maven project so you have only download and run mvn install to check output.

  • Thread-safe data structures

    - by Inso Reiges
Hello, I have to design a data structure that is to be used in a multi-threaded environment. The basic API is simple: insert element, remove element, retrieve element, check that element exists. The structure's implementation uses implicit locking to guarantee the atomicity of a single API call. After i implemented this it became apparent, that what i really need is atomicity across several API calls. For example if a caller needs to check the existence of an element before trying to insert it he can't do that atomically even if each single API call is atomic: if(!data_structure.exists(element)) { data_structure.insert(element); } The example is somewhat awkward, but the basic point is that we can't trust the result of exists call anymore after we return from atomic context (the generated assembly clearly shows a minor chance of context switch between the two calls). What i currently have in mind to solve this is exposing the lock through the data structure's public API. This way clients will have to explicitly lock things, but at least they won't have to create their own locks. Is there a better commonly-known solution to these kinds of problems? And as long as we're at it, can you advise some good literature on thread-safe design? Thank you.

  • DataGridView row is still dirty after committing changes

    - by Ecyrb
DataGridView.IsCurrentRowDirty remains true after I commit changes to the database. I want to set it to false so it doesn't trigger RowValidating when it loses focus. I have a DataGridView bound to a BindingList<T>. I handle the CellEndEdit event and save changes to the database. After saving those changes I would like DataGridView.IsCurrentRowDirty to be set to true, since all cells in the row are up-to-date; however, it's set to false. This causes problems for me because when the row does lose focus it will trigger RowValidating, which I handle and validate all three cells in. So even though all the cells are valid and none are dirty it will still validate them all. That's a waste. Here's an example of what I have: void dataGridView_CellValidating(object sender, DataGridViewCellValidatingEventArgs e) { // Ignore cell if it's not dirty if (dataGridView.isCurrentCellDirty) return; // Validate current cell. } void dataGridView_RowValidating(object sender, DataGridViewCellCancelEventArgs e) { // Ignore Row if it's not dirty if (!dataGridView.IsCurrentRowDirty) return; // Validate all cells in the current row. } void dataGridView_CellEndEdit(object sender, DataGridViewCellEventArgs e) { // Validate all cells in the current row and return if any are invalid. // If they are valid, save changes to the database // This is when I would expect dataGridView.IsCurrentRowDirty to be false. // When this row loses focus it will trigger RowValidating and validate all // cells in this row, which we already did above. } I've read posts that said I could call the form's Validate() method, but that will cause RowValidating to fire, which is what I'm trying to avoid. Any idea how I can set DataGridView.IsCurrentRowDirty to true? Or maybe a way to prevent RowValidating from unnecessarily validating all the cells?

  • Hidden Field losing its Value on postback

    - by Ratan
I have a ascx page where I am using a hidden field to store the value of a the drop down box as it is generated using a google address finder. My problem is that when I try to store the value directly in the hidden field : hfDdlVerifyID.Value = ddlVerifySS.SelectedValue; in the event of a button click, the value is stored but on postback is lost again. Whereas, if i try to use Scriptmanager to do it, nothing is stored. getBuild.AppendLine("$get('" + hfDdlVerifyID.ClientID + "').value = $get('" + ddlVerifySS.ClientID + ").value;"); ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.Page, this.GetType(), "storeHidden", getBuild.ToString(), true); // Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(this.GetType(), "storeHidden", getBuild.ToString(), true); string test = hfDdlVerifyID.Value.ToString(); The ascx page is : <asp:UpdatePanel ID = ddlUpdate runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Panel ID="pVerify" runat="server"> <br /> <fieldset> <legend> <asp:Literal ID="lVerify" runat="server" /> </legend> <asp:CheckBox ID ="cbVerify" runat ="server" Text ="Use the value from the following list, (Uncheck to accept address as it is)." • Very strange iSeries Provider behavior

    - by AJ
We've been given a "stored procedure" from our RPG folks that returns six data tables. Attempting to call it from .NET (C#, 3.5) using the iSeries Provider for .NET (tried using both V5R4 and V6R1), we are seeing different results based on how we call the stored proc. Here's way that we'd prefer to do it: using (var dbConnection = new iDB2Connection("connectionString")) { dbConnection.Open(); using(var cmd = dbConnection.CreateCommand()) { cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd.CommandText = "StoredProcName"; cmd.Parameters.Add(new iDB2Parameter("InParm1", iDB2DbType.Varchar).Value = thing; var ds = new DataSet(); var da = new iDB2DataAdapter(cmd); da.Fill(ds); } } Doing it this way, we get FIVE tables back in the result set. However, if we do this: cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; cmd.CommandText = "CALL StoredProcName('" + thing + "')"; We get back the expected SIX tables. I realize that there aren't many of us sorry .NET-to-DB2 folks out here, but I'm hoping someone has seen this before. TIA.

  • C# Gui setting control.Enabled to false fires OnClick event???

    - by Daniel
For some really weird reason when i set the .Enabled property to false on a simple text box on a small GUI, it fires a radio buttons OnClick event and its causing lots of problems. I have breakpointed the txtBox.Enabled = false; and after stepping over OR into it i jump straight to the OnClick event of the radio button control Here is the call stack as that happened: TestGUI.exe!TestGUI.frmMain.radiobuttonClicked(object sender = {Text = "Download Single Episode" Checked = true}, System.EventArgs e = {System.EventArgs}) Line 67 C# System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(System.EventArgs e) + 0x70 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.RadioButton.OnClick(System.EventArgs e) + 0x27 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.RadioButton.OnEnter(System.EventArgs e = {System.EventArgs}) + 0x3e bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.NotifyEnter() + 0x20 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.UpdateFocusedControl() + 0x195 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.AssignActiveControlInternal(System.Windows.Forms.Control value = {Text = "Download Single Episode" Checked = true}) + 0x54 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.ActivateControlInternal(System.Windows.Forms.Control control, bool originator = false) + 0x76 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.SetActiveControlInternal(System.Windows.Forms.Control value = {Text = "Download Single Episode" Checked = true}) + 0x73 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.SetActiveControl(System.Windows.Forms.Control ctl) + 0x33 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.ContainerControl.ActiveControl.set(System.Windows.Forms.Control value) + 0x5 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.Select(bool directed, bool forward) + 0x1b bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.SelectNextControl(System.Windows.Forms.Control ctl, bool forward, bool tabStopOnly, bool nested, bool wrap) + 0x7b bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.SelectNextControlInternal(System.Windows.Forms.Control ctl, bool forward, bool tabStopOnly, bool nested, bool wrap) + 0x4a bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.SelectNextIfFocused() + 0x61 bytes System.Windows.Forms.dll!System.Windows.Forms.Control.Enabled.set(bool value) + 0x42 bytes What the hell?
