    I would like to write my own version of Microsoft Live labs pivot.http://www.getpivot.com/ For this i will use realtime texture streaming technology like John Carmack did for doom4. But i would like to use Windows vista SetFileBandwidthReservation api to have the best throughput possible. For example // reserve bandwidth of 200 bytes/sec result = SetFileBandwidthReservation( hFile, 1000, 200, FALSE, &transferSize, &outstandingRequests ); What i dont understand is the lpTransferSize and lpNumOutstandingRequests return parameters. How should i next read the file for this to be the most worth it. Should i do exactly lpNumOutstandingRequests number of request of size lpTransferSize. Or can i do one synchronous request bigger than lpTransferSize.

    Hi there, For some reason when I try to use "append" while inside an FTP script, the ftp client appears to hang. I've tried all sorts of different variations (for example, including the destination filee and not, using quotes and not), and all I ever get is a "No such file or directory" error (and I KNOW it's there) or it hangs on an 200 Request OK and never does anything. ftp> open ibm.some_server Connected to ibm.some_server 230 USER1 is logged on. Working directory is "USER1.". Remote system type is MVS. ftp> cd 'Z.TABS.' 250 "Z.TABS." is the working directory name prefix. ftp> append 'SAMASCPY' 'SAMASCPY': No such file or directory ftp> append SAMASCPY 200 Port request OK. Anyone know what could be going on?

    I have an SQL statement where I would like to get data of 1200 ep_codes by making use of IN. When I include more than 1000 ep_codes inside IN statement, Oracle says I'm not allowed to do that. To overcome this, I tried to change the SQL code as follows: SELECT ... FROM ... WHERE ... AND ep_codes IN (...1000 ep_codes...) OR ep_codes IN (...200 ep_codes...) The code was executed succesfully but the results are strange. Is it appropriate to do that using OR between INs or should I execute two separate codes as one with 1000 and the other with 200 ep_codes?

  • Google Web Optimizer -- How long until winning combination?

    I've had an A/B Test running in Google Web Optimizer for six weeks now, and there's still no end in sight. Google is still saying: "We have not gathered enough data yet to show any significant results. When we collect more data we should be able to show you a winning combination." Is there any way of telling how close Google is to making up its mind? (Does anyone know what algorithm does it use to decide if there's been any "high confidence winners"?) According to the Google help documentation: Sometimes we simply need more data to be able to reach a level of high confidence. A tested combination typically needs around 200 conversions for us to judge its performance with certainty. But all of our conversions have over 200 conversations at the moment: 230 / 4061 (Original) 223 / 3937 (Variation 1) 205 / 3984 (Variation 2) 205 / 4007 (Variation 3) How much longer is it going to have to run??   • Flex 3 - Send a HTTP Get request from Flash and want Firefox to show Open With Box.

    Hi all, I am a newb developer as far as Flex and Flash is concerned. This is what I'm trying to do: 1) Send a HTTP request to our server (with a custom made URL). The URL basically tells the server to send data in a CSV format. 2) The server sends a 200 OK response, which has Content-Type: application/csv and the payload is pure CSV data. What I wish to do is, when firefox gets this 200 OK response, I want it to show the standard Open with box (the one that shows up when you download some file). I tried doing this with HTTPService. I have a "Export to CSV" button on the flash component. Upon clicking that, the flash component is able to succesfully send the HTTP request. I however don't want Flash component to handle the response, so I don't have the 's "result" tag defined. But nothing happens. Any suggestions on how to do this.

    I have a table with a list of transactions (invoices and credits) and I need to get a list of all the rows where the invoices and credits don't match up. eg user product value bill ThingA 200 jim ThingA -200 sue ThingB 100 liz ThingC 50 I only want to see the third and fourth rows, as the values of the others match off. I can do this if I select product, sum(value) ... group by product having sum(value) < 0 which works well, but I want to return the user name as well. As soon as I add the user to the select, I need to group by it as well, which messes it up as the amounts don't match up by user AND product. Any ideas ? I am using MS SQL 2000... Cheers

  • Program occasionally stuck when writing to ldap

    hey guys, I have 2 databases for my program : mysql and ldap. All transactions happen to mysql, but i need ldap to connect to ip-phones. There's an option to synchronise the ldap database. So when the ldap is brand new, and mysql contains like 200+ records, it may want to update. But when inserting all those entries, it "freezes". It never happens at the same record, it's very random. Sometimes after 70 records, sometimes at 200 the program quits inserting, and gets stuck. This is very annoying. My best guess is that ldap can't handle that much inserts in a short time. Code isn't the problem, as it is a random problem. Does this seem familiar to somebody or is it just me? Thanks in advance.

I'm storing the Level = Points mapping in an array, but the array pointer is not moving logically when I use it a foreach loop. I've added echo statements for debugging.     I am working on an image generation script in PHP and have gotten it working two ways. One way is slow but uses a limited amount of memory, the second is much faster, but uses 6x the memory . There is no leakage in either script (as far as I can tell). In a limited benchmark, here is how they performed: -------------------------------------------- METHOD | TOTAL TIME | PEAK MEMORY | IMAGES -------------------------------------------- One | 65.626 | 540,036 | 200 Two | 20.207 | 3,269,600 | 200 -------------------------------------------- And here is the average of the previous numbers (if you don't want to do your own math): -------------------------------------------- METHOD | TOTAL TIME | PEAK MEMORY | IMAGES -------------------------------------------- One | 0.328 | 540,036 | 1 Two | 0.101 | 3,269,600 | 1 -------------------------------------------- Which method should I use and why? I anticipate this being used by a high volume of users, with each user making 10-20 requests to this script during a normal visit. I am leaning toward the faster method because though it uses more memory, it is for a 1/3 of the time and would reduce the number of concurrent requests.

  • Keep hover state applied until user mouses over another element.

    First let me state that I'm a jquery noob, so this may not make a lot of sense. So I have a series of list items that expand to show a hidden div inside if the user mouses over a link inside the item (not the whole list item itself) The problem is that if the users mouse leaves the link the li closes up again. I need this to work in a way so that the li only closes if you mouse over a link in another li. I also need it so only the class "home_upcoming_title" expands the div. but it needs to stay open until you mouse over another link with the same class. sorry if that doesn't make much sense :)

  • How to make a form using ajax, onchange event, reload to SAME page

    I've been studying this for a while and I'm not sure if I'm going about this the right way because every form I setup according to examples, it doesn't do what I need. I need to setup a form that will: set session when you select from dropdown menu not reload/refresh page (i've read that using AJAX solves this) submit and stay on SAME page (confused because most AJAX examples send it to different process.php page which is supposedly "invisible" but it doesn't "stay" on the same page, it redirects. Basically, client selects quantity of 1 to 10. If they select "2"... it does NOT reload the page.. but it DOES set a session[quantity]=2. Should be simple... but do I POST to same page as form? or POST to different page and it somehow redirects? Also, one test I did it kept pasting my "echo session[quantity]" down the page like 7, 2, 3, 5, etc. etc. each time instead of replacing it. I would paste code but it's all over the place and I'm hoping for direction on which methods to use. Feel I need to start all over again.   • How do you position a wx.MessageDialog (wxPython)?

    Hi: Is there any reason why the position, pos, flag doesn't seem to work in the following example? dlg = wx.MessageDialog( parent=self, message='You must enter a URL', caption='Error', style=wx.OK | wx.ICON_ERROR | wx.STAY_ON_TOP, pos=(200,200) ) dlg.ShowModal() dlg.Destroy() The documentation is here: http://www.wxpython.org/docs/api/wx.MessageDialog-class.html 'self' is a reference to the frame. I'm running in Windows Vista, python26, wxpython28. The message dialog always appears to be in the middle of the screen. If for some reason it's not possible to position the dialog, is there anyway to at least restrict the dialog to be in the frame, rather than just the center of the screen? thanks!

The code below works fine until I want to create choices, where for some reason I always get this error message: line 22, in unicode return self.question AttributeError: 'Choice' object has no attribute 'question' Unfortunatley, I dont understand where I made an error.
