I would like to detect whether n2 was deleted using n1 pointer test. But this test results in exception. Is there any way how to determine whether the object was deleted (or was not deleted) using n1 pointer ? Thanks for your help.

    I'm trying to overwrite a core Wordpress function (found in media.php) using add_filter() in my theme's functions.php file. This should work accord to the blogs that I've come across, but for some reason I see no change whatsoever. #override what WP is trying to do to scaling images by default function my_image_hwstring($width, $height) { $out = ''; #if ($width) # $out .= 'width="'.intval($width).'" The way I'm doing it is correct (I think) but isn't working as expected. Totally hung up on this and appreciate any responses. This is a weird one!

So, felt I need to learn to code in OO PHP.... The problem is, having done code using functions for quite a long time, i just can't get my head to think in the OO way.... Also felt that probably I am not the only one facing this problem since the beginning of time... So, how did you people learn object oriented programming... especially how did you succeed in "unlearning" to code using functions... and learn to see you code as objects...? There's a class called Foo that has a bunch of setters and accessors, and it is working quite well at abstracting some pretty nasty code and SQL. The question is is it common practice to expose a class for other modules, or is it better to wrap things in the more typical foo_myfnname()? For example, if I am writing the module's docs, should I tell people to do this: $foo = new Foo(); $something = $foo->get_something(); or tell them to call: foo_get_something(); which under the hood does: function foo_get_something() { $foo = new Foo(); return $foo->get_something(); }

  • matlab constant anonymous function returns only one value instead of an array

    I've been searching the net for a couple of mornings and found nothing, hope you can help. I have an anonymous function like this f = @(x,y) [sin(2*pi*x).*cos(2*pi*y), cos(2*pi*x).*sin(2*pi*y)]; that needs to be evaluated on an array of points, something like x = 0:0.1:1; y = 0:0.1:1; w = f(x',y'); Now, in the above example everything works fine, the result w is a 11x2 matrix with in each row the correct value f(x(i), y(i)). The problem comes when I change my function to have constant values: f = @(x,y) [0, 1]; Now, even with array inputs like before, I only get out a 1x2 array like w = [0,1]; while of course I want to have the same structure as before, i.e. a 11x2 matrix. I have no idea why Matlab is doing this...

In the process of development, we have come up with a class that has 5 attributes, all these attributes correspond to an entry in the xml file, now if the user adds/modifies the xml entry the object corresponding to it must change automatically, one approach would be generate the source code, before compile time.Is there any other way ?   • Python: Hack to call a method on an object that isn't of its class

    Assume you define a class, which has a method which does some complicated processing: class A(object): def my_method(self): # Some complicated processing is done here return self And now you want to use that method on some object from another class entirely. Like, you want to do A.my_method(7). This is what you'd get: TypeError: unbound method my_method() must be called with A instance as first argument (got int instance instead). Now, is there any possibility to hack things so you could call that method on 7? I'd want to avoid moving the function or rewriting it. (Note that the method's logic does depend on self.) One note: I know that some people will want to say, "You're doing it wrong! You're abusing Python! You shouldn't do it!" So yes, I know, this is a terrible terrible thing I want to do. I'm asking if someone knows how to do it, not how to preach to me that I shouldn't do it.

I want a function to return the end value of a session, e.g. SELECT session_val(1); --returns 45 SELECT session_val(2); --returns 55 Is it possible to write such a function/query? I don't know how to do any iteration-like things with SQL, or if it's possible at all.
