  • Access 2007: Dynamic SQL to be run when opening a report

    I'm trying to have some SQL execute when I open a report. This works fine when I try to match on a column that's an integer with an integer, but when I try to match on a "text" column, it keeps popping up a dialog asking for what you want to filter on. Here's a somple query: select person_phone_numbers.person_id from person_phone_numbers where phone_number = '444-444-4444' This is actually a sub-query I'm trying to use, but this is where the problem is. If I change it to this it works fine: select person_phone_numbers.person_id from person_phone_numbers where phone_id = 2 I put this in the OnOpen event and I'm assigning it to Me.RecordSource if that makes a difference. My goal here is to have a form accept query parameter(s) and have it open a report with the results. Any thoughts on why it wants to ask for a parameter vs. just running the query the way I have it?

  • Return the Column Name for row with last non-null value "Ms Access 2007"

    I have a Table, which contains a list of league players. Each season, we record their Points per Dart. Their total PPD for that season is stored in other tables and extracted through other queries, which in turn are imported to the master table "Player History" at the end of the season for use as historical data. The current query retrieves each players PPD for each season they played, when they played last, and how many seasons played. The code for Last season Played has become too long and unstable to use. it was originally created, and split into two separate columns because a single SQL was to long. (LSP1) and LSP2) which work, but as I add seasons, Access does not like the length of code. In short, i need to find a more simple code that will look at each row, and look in that row for the last non null cell and report which column that last non null value is in. So if a player played seasons 30 & 31, but did not play 32..but did play 33, the Column with the code should be titled Last Season Played, and for that Player, it would state "33" in that cell, indicating that this player last played season "33" I will provide both tables and the query.. Please help

  • Linked Tables not working With Access Database

    Hi, I have an Access database in a computer and I want to access it from other computer in the network. so I made mapped drive and created Linked Tables, then Imported all the objects (forms, queries, reports). when I open access database in the second computer and make any changes in using the forms non of the changes are affected in the main computer (supposedly server) and vise-versa. what am I missing? if this way will not work how can I access the Access database from other computer in the network and be able to use all the objects and make changes in it? hint: Access Version at main computer is 2003 and client pc 2007, will it effect?

  • Can I send HTML mails in Outlook Web Access?

    Hi, In my organization some of the employees are located elsewhere from headquarter and therefore they are using the Outlook Web Access (OWA) to receive and send E-mails. The problem lies in the format in how E-mails are sending and forwarded. When receiving an E-mail which has HTML context (e.g. tables) it shows it right enough but when the same E-mail is forwarded it completely disturb the layout and it seems like it only can send in pure text. Is there any way I can enable HTML to me used for sending and forwarding E-mails through OWA, either via the settings in the OWA or our Exchange server? Thanks Sincerely Mestika

  • How do you create a report in Word (or other documentation software) that is linked directly with Ex

    I believe my question may be best answered by using Access since that's more what it's made for. However, I don't have a license for Access here at work and trying to get one is pulling teeth. So I'm curious if there is any way to compile reports with data in an Excel 2007 sheet. The output can be .doc, .docx, .pdf - or anything else if there's a decent piece of free 3rd party software. This might be easiest solved by just creating another sheet in the same workbook and directly linking to the data I want to display in a report-esque format. But I wanted to see if SU could offer some more creative solutions.

  • DisableCrossAccountCopy not working on some Outlook installs, working on others, both going against Exchange

    As part of a mail migration project from one Exchange organization to another, we need to be able to prevent users from moving/copying messages between their accounts in each organization. (Yes, users will think this is evil; no, it's not my decision; yes, users will hate us.) Luckily, we thought, Outlook 2010 provides the DisableCrossAccountCopy registry value/policy (cf. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff800883.aspx). (Because you can't do multiple Exchange organizations in a single profile before Outlook 2010, this only matters on Outlook 2010. Yes, I'm ignoring for the sake of this question copy/move to/from the filesystem.) In our test lab, in a test forest with a test Exchange organization, with a second Exchange account added to the profile in either of the "real" Exchange organizations, with the value set to "*", everything works as expected. On a workstation in one of the production domains, however, the setting does not seem to work. We have tried it under HKCU, HKLM, HKCU\Software\Policies, and HKLM\Software\Policies. It simply seems to be ignored. The value was set in the OCT on a test machine, but the OCT (and the ADM/ADMX file) have the wrong type for the value. We have located the value in the registry and removed it everywhere it is found, we think, and put it back in HKCU, but it still isn't taking. At the moment, a clean Outlook install is not an option - even if it was, we at this point would need to know what to do to fix the pushed copy (I didn't push the copy out to thousands of machines, I've just been asked to help clean up the current mess). Thoughts?

  • Change Outlook's default calendar to iCloud (meeting requests end up in wrong calendar)

    Following scenario: I've got a main computer (Windows 7, Office 2010) which is being used to manage contacts, meetings, etc. using Outlook. Now I've added an iPad and an iPhone to sync using iCloud. I moved all appointments and contacts from the old PST file to the iCloud file. All the data syncs nicely. The email account I'm using in Outlook is an IMAP account which opens up another data file which brings us to a total of three data files in Outlook's side bar. The problem: When one of our clients sends us meeting requests via email they show up in the IMAP's inbox. When we open them up they automatically get added to Outlook's default calendar (the one in the original PST). Is there any chance not to add them to that calendar but the iCloud one? Basically we could completely get rid of the original PST since we don't use it at all anymore but the settings do not allow me to remove this PST file and set the iCloud one as default. Thanks!

  • Add Your Gmail Account to Outlook 2010 Using IMAP

    If you’re upgrading from Outlook 2003 to 2010, you might want to use IMAP with your Gmail account to synchronize mail across multiple machines. Using our guide, you will be able to start using it in no time. Enable IMAP in Gmail First log into your Gmail account and open the Settings panel. Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and verify IMAP is enabled and save changes. Next open Outlook 2010, click on the File tab to access the Backstage view. Click on Account Settings and Add and remove accounts or change existing connection settings. In the Account Settings window click on the New button. Enter in your name, email address, and password twice then click Next. Outlook will configure the email server settings, the amount of time it takes will vary. Provided everything goes correctly, the configuration will be successful and you can begin using your account. Manually Configure IMAP Settings If the above instructions don’t work, then we’ll need to manually configure the settings. Again, go into Auto Account Setup and select Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.   Select Internet E-mail – Connect to POP or IMAP server to send and receive e-mail messages. Now we need to manually enter in our settings similar to the following. Under the Server Information section verify the following. Account Type: IMAP Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com Note: If you have a Google Apps account make sure to put the full email address ([email protected]) in the Your Name and User Name fields. Note: If you live outside of the US you might need to use imap.googlemail.com and smtp.googlemail.com Next, we need to click on the More Settings button… In the Internet E-mail Settings screen that pops up, click on the Outgoing Server tab, and check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Also select the radio button next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server. In the same window click on the Advanced tab and verify the following. Incoming server: 993 Incoming server encrypted connection: SSL Outgoing server encrypted connection TLS Outgoing server: 587 Note: You will need to change the Outgoing server encrypted connection first, otherwise it will default back to port 25. Also, if TLS doesn’t work, we were able to successfully use Auto. Click OK when finished. Now we want to test the settings, before continuing on…it’s just easier that way incase something was entered incorrectly. To make sure the settings are tested, check the box Test Account Settings by clicking the Next button. If you’ve entered everything in correctly, both tasks will be completed successfully and you can close out of the window. and begin using your account via Outlook 2010. You’ll get a final congratulations message you can close out of… And begin using your account via Outlook 2010. Conclusion Using IMAP allows you to synchronize email across multiple machines and devices. The IMAP feature in Gmail is free to use, and this should get you started using it with Outlook 2010.     what could be the reason for Outlook 2007 continously losing and reestablishing the connection to exchange? I tried disabling all anti-viruses and firewalls but it did not help. I should mention that even though this seems to happen to all users, some users cannot even send emails because it happens every few seconds while others can work relatively undisturbed (it happens a few times per hour).

  • Outlook 2007 login prompt repeat prompt and exchange 2010

    It seems when I first setup a new user in Outlook 2007, a login prompt comes up and asks for credentials. After the account is setup, the login prompt will repeatedly prompt throughout the day and is a little annoying. This happened recently as all other machines are not doing this - just a few machines on the network (HP 8200 Elite small form factor machines to be exact) Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Where are Outlook 2010 Email Settings, not the pst data files

    I've found all my Outlook data files which contain all my emails at the following paths: C:\Users\C\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook C:\Users\C\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook and C:\Users\C\My Documents\Outlook Files\ I've migrated all these and copied it to my new machine at the same directories however my configuration is not there! None of my email pop/smtp settings are there, only the pst is loaded with my emails but all other configuration is gone, where precisely is that configuration stored?
