  • Trapping events within list box item templates in WPF

    I've got listbox that employs an item template. Within each item in the list, as defined in the template there is a button. When the user clicks the button I change a value in the data source that defines the sort order of the list. Changing the datasource is not a problem as this is working just fine within my application template. However my next step is to reload the listbox with the new sorted data source. I've tried doing this from the tempalte but it apparently doesn't have access (or I can't figure out how to get access) to the parent elements so I can reset the .ItemSource property with a newly sorted data source. Seems like this is possible but the solution is eluding me :(

If you run the above code you'll hopefully see... 1) Editing the text widget triggers the event handler but it seems to fire it off without registering the actual change, 2) Even when the text widget is cleared (ie, keep pressing BackSpace) it still seems to have a one character length string, 3) The output widget only receives its update when the NEXT event trigger is fired despite the fact the data came on the previous event. Is this just how bindings work in tkinter or am i missing something here? The behaviour i would like when updating the input widget is: 1) Show the change, 2) Enter event handler, 3) Update output widget, 4) Show message box.

    Hello, I'm trying to use a custom event in my WxWidgets C++ application, like described here. In the constructor of my wxApp: Connect(wxID_ANY, wxCommandEventHandler(APP::OnMyEvent)); Then the function that should catch the event: void APP::OnMyEvent(wxCommandEvent& event) { exit(0); //testing } Finally, to test it: wxCommandEvent MyEvent(wxEVT_COMMAND_BUTTON_CLICKED); wxPostEvent(this, MyEvent); I launch the thing...but it seems that the event is not posted or not caught. Does someone understand this behaviour ?

  • jquery events on input submit fields

    I have a problem with jquery submit button onclick and default event. What I want to do is replace an click event on submit button if it has one, and get an dialog box to show up, on clicking yes the dialog should start that default onclick event if submit button has one defined, if it hasn't than the default event should happen (button submits form), .submit() function does not work for me in any case cause I need to send this button also through a form and if button wasn't clicked .submit() sends form data without submit data.   • jQuery find events handlers registered with an object

    I need to find which event handlers an object has registered. eg. $("#el").click(function(){...}); $("#el").mouseover(function(){...}); Is there anyway I can use a function to find out that- $("#el") has click and mouseover registered and possibly iterate over the event handlers. If not a jQuery Object can we find this on a plain DOM object?

  • jQuery: How to stop propagation of a bound function not the entire event?

    I have a click function bound to many elements. It is possible that sometimes these elements may sit within one another. So, the click event is bound to a child and also bound to its parent. The method is specific to the element clicked. Naturally, because of event bubbling, the child's event is fired first, and then the parents. I cannot have them both called at the same time because the parents event overwrites the event of the child. So I could use event.stopPropagation() so only the first element clicked receives the event. The problem is that there are other click events also attached to the element, for example, I am using jQuery's draggable on these elements. If I stop the propagation of the click event, then draggable doesn't work, and the following click events are not called. So my question is: Is there a way to stop the event bubbling of the method the event will call and not the entire event?

  • Possible to bind an event listener to a (hypothetical) onChangeInnerHTML event?

    In my app, I have an OL tag whose contents are changed by various other dynamic events. Is there some way to put a listener on that OL so that I can execute a function whenever its contents are altered in any way? In this example I need to update a count of items in the list which appears in another spot in the interface. I am using jQuery if that helps. The contents of the OL are being changed with OL.append() and LI.remove(), in case those methods have some special events that I don't know about Thanks!

  • How to implement a timer for regular events?

    I would like to implement some timers into my application. My goal is to provide an easy way to execute some function every x seconds/minutes so I thought about implementing a 1 sec, 5 sec and 15 seconds timer. The first thing i would like to update every 1 second is the built in clock (don't know if there is any other solution in c#, used this method in c++) Another use would be e.g. a sync function etc. which shall be executed every xx seconds. My question is if there are any useful tutorials on this topic? It is the first time that I would like to implement such an timer system into one of my applications and I do not know if there are any things I have to keep in mind. Thank you in advance for any answer :)

It would make more sense to have a contract like this public delegate void WindowChangedHandler(WindowType windowType); public event WindowChangedHandler WindowChanged; Doing it this way, I don't need to create a new class and is easier to understand. I am not coding a .Net library. This code is only going to be used in this project. I like conventions but am I right when I say that in this example it does not make sense or have i missunderstood something?

I was wondering what the cleanest way to marshal an event from a background thread onto my UI thread is.     I'm trying to create a custom control and need to raise an event from it. The idea is to raise an event at the end of the click event (OnAfterClick). I found one or two tutorials on doing this, but am clearly missing a step somewhere; I have the following. In the control: public class AfterClickEventArgs : EventArgs { ... } public partial class MyButton : CommandButton { public delegate void AfterClickEvnt(object sender, AfterClickEventArgs e); public event AfterClickUpdatedEvnt AfterClick; } protected override void OnClick(EventArgs e) { ... Processing here ... AfterClickEventArgs myArgs = new AfterClickEventArgs(); AfterClick(this, newArgs); } In the program using the control: In InitializeComponent(): this.MyButton.AfterClick += new System.EventHandler(this.cmdMyButton_Click); This line is giving me a compile error (cmdMyButton_Click does exist). It tells me: Cannot implicitly convert type 'System.EventHandler' to 'Namespace.MyButton.AfterClick' Can anyone tell me what I'm missing, or misunderstanding about this, please?

  • Android browser javascript events when minimised

    I'm building a webapp for Android smartphones that runs with the OS internet browser. the main interface is to input datas. the data is added to a queue (android 1.5: gears, android 2.x: html5). Each 5 minutes (using setTimeout), the script looks if an internet connection is active, and if so, sends all the queue to the server. If the phone is plugged on the wall and the webpage is ontop, the timeout works. if the browser is minimized or another application runs on top of it, the timeout doesn't work. if the phone is in sleep mode it doesn't work either. can only native apps runs in background?

  • Enable Full Screen Mode in Media Center Without Trapping the Mouse

    If you have a dual monitor setup and use Windows Media Center, you’re probably aware that when WMC is in full screen mode, it traps the mouse so you can’t work on a second monitor. Here we look at how to solve the annoyance. The Maxifier is an application that allows you to open Media Center in full screen mode without restricting the mouse. It relieves the annoyance of WMC capturing your mouse on a dual monitor setup. Note: If you don’t have two monitors attached, most of The Maxifier’s functions won’t work. Installation and Use Download, extract, and install The Maxifier. (See the download link below) The Maxifier runs minimized in the system tray and you access the options by right-clicking on the icon. If Media Center is not already open, you can choose Start Media Center to start WMC on the main start screen. Or, choose one of the other selections to open another area of Media Center. By default, Maxifier opens Media Center in full screen mode on the secondary monitor. When Media Center is open in full screen mode, you’ll notice you can now freely move your mouse around your multi-monitor setup. When Media Center is open, you’ll see five additional options. The Fit Screen options simply fits Media Center to the full screen, but still show the Windows borders. Full screen options put WMC in full screen mode.   The Maxifier Options allow you to choose from the various start up options. Selecting Watch for Media Center starting will prompt Maxifier to open WMC to the main start page in full screen mode on the secondary monitor automatically, even if you open Media Center without using The Maxifier.  (You may need to restart for this to take effect) If you have more than 2 monitors, you can define on which monitor to open Media Center, and which monitor you consider to be the main screen.   You can also define a number of Hotkeys in The Maxifier settings. First, select the Enable Hotkeys checkbox. To create a Hotkey, click in the text field and then press the keys to use as the Hotkey. To remove a Hotkey, click in the field and press the Delete key.   Conclusion The Maxifier is a simple program that enables Media Center users to take full advantage of a multi-monitor workspace. It works with both Vista and Windows 7. Version 1.4 is a stable application for Vista, and Version 1.5b is a beta application for Windows 7. Looking for more Media Center tips and tweaks?
