  • Is there any alternative way of writing this switch statement(C#3.0)

    - by Newbie
    Can it be done in a better way public static EnumFactorType GetFactorEnum(string str) { Standardization e = new Standardization(); switch (str.ToLower()) { case "beta": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.BETA; break; case "bkp": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.BOOK_TO_PRICE; break; case "yld": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.DIVIDEND_YIELD; break; case "growth": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.GROWTH; break; case "mean": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.MARKET_CAP; break; case "momentum": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.MOMENTUM; break; case "size": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.SIZE; break; case "stat_fact1": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.STAT_FACT_1; break; case "stat_fact2": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.STAT_FACT_2; break; case "value": e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.VALUE; break; } return e.FactorType; } If I create a Static class(say Constatant) and declare variable like public static string BETA= "beta"; and then if I try to put that in the Case expression like Case Constants.BETA : e.FactorType = EnumFactorType.BETA; break; then the compiler will report error.(quite expected) So is there any other way?(I canot change the switch statement) Using C#3.0 Thanks

  • Just a small help about switch's use

    - by Laurent Fournier
    If an answer on this already exist, my apologies i've not found on this question... is this statement correct if i want presice actions on integers from -2 to 0, and for those between 1 and 6 apply the same methods with only my integer who'll change ? Like this: public void setCaseGUI(Point pt, int i, boolean b){ plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setSelected(b); plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setIcon(null); switch(i) { case -2: plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setText("F"); plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setForeground(Color.red); break; case -1: plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setText("B"); plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setForeground(Color.red); break; case 0: plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setText(""); plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setForeground(null); break; case 1: case 2: case 3: case 4: case 5: case 6: case 7: case 8: plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setText(String.valueOf(i)); plateau.cellule[(int)pt.getAbs()][(int)pt.getOrd()].setForeground(null); break; default: System.out.println("Erreur de changement d'état/case !"); } } Please don't be too harsh on me i've started to learn dev only a few month ago

  • OSX, G/AWK, Bash - "illegal statement"

    - by S1syphus
    I have a script that somebody from SO kindly provided to solve an issue I was having, However, I'm having some issues getting it to work on OSX. gawk --version GNU Awk 3.1.6 awk --version awk version 20100208 The original source is: awk -F, -vOFS=, -vc=1 ' NR == 1 { for (i=1; i<NF; i++) { if ($i != "") { g[c]=i; f[c++]=$i } } } NR>2 { for (i=1; i < c; i++) { print $1,$2, $g[i] > "output_"f[i]".csv } }' data.csv When I run the script it gives the following error: awk: syntax error at source line 12 context is print $1,$2, $g[i] > >>> "output_"f <<< [i]".csv awk: illegal statement at source line 13 From the look of it the variable of [i] isn't been amended to the output file, but I don't know why. If I change AWK to GAWK and run the original script here is the output: gawk: cmd. line:11: print $1,$2, $g[i] > "output_"f[i]".csv gawk: cmd. line:11: ^ unterminated string So I edit the relevant line to fix the unterminated string print $1,$2, $g[i] > "output_"f[i]".csv" Then it runs through fine produces no errors, but there is no output files. Any ideas? I spent the majority of last night and this morning pouring over this. • Semi-complex aggregate select statement confusion

    - by Ian Henry
    Alright, this problem is a little complicated, so bear with me. I have a table full of data. One of the table columns is an EntryDate. There can be multiple entries per day. However, I want to select all rows that are the latest entry on their respective days, and I want to select all the columns of said table. One of the columns is a unique identifier column, but it is not the primary key (I have no idea why it's there; this is a pretty old system). For purposes of demonstration, say the table looks like this: create table ExampleTable ( ID int identity(1,1) not null, PersonID int not null, StoreID int not null, Data1 int not null, Data2 int not null, EntryDate datetime not null ) The primary key is on PersonID and StoreID, which logically defines uniqueness. Now, like I said, I want to select all the rows that are the latest entries on that particular day (for each Person-Store combination). This is pretty easy: --Figure 1 select PersonID, StoreID, max(EntryDate) from ExampleTable group by PersonID, StoreID, dbo.dayof(EntryDate) Where dbo.dayof() is a simple function that strips the time component from a datetime. However, doing this loses the rest of the columns! I can't simply include the other columns, because then I'd have to group by them, which would produce the wrong results (especially since ID is unique). I have found a dirty hack that will do what I want, but there must be a better way -- here's my current solution: select cast(null as int) as ID, PersonID, StoreID, cast(null as int) as Data1, cast(null as int) as Data2, max(EntryDate) as EntryDate into #StagingTable from ExampleTable group by PersonID, StoreID, dbo.dayof(EntryDate) update Target set ID = Source.ID, Data1 = Source.Data1, Data2 = Source.Data2, from #StagingTable as Target inner join ExampleTable as Source on Source.PersonID = Target.PersonID and Source.StoreID = Target.StoreID and Source.EntryDate = Target.EntryDate This gets me the correct data in #StagingTable but, well, look at it! Creating a table with null values, then doing an update to get the values back -- surely there's a better way to do this? A single statement that will get me all the values the first time? It is my belief that the correct join on that original select (Figure 1) would do the trick, like a self-join or something... but how do you do that with the group by clause? I cannot find the right syntax to make the query execute. I am pretty new with SQL, so it's likely that I'm missing something obvious. Any suggestions? (Working in T-SQL, if it makes any difference)

  • VBA - Access 03 - Iterating through a list box, with an if statement to evaluate

    - by Justin
    So I have a one list box with values like DeptA, DeptB, DeptC & DeptD. I have a method that causes these to automatically populate in this list box if they are applicable. So in other words, if they populate in this list box, I want the resulting logic to say they are "Yes" in a boolean field in the table. So to accomplish this I am trying to use this example of iteration to cycle through the list box first of all, and it works great: dim i as integer dim myval as string For i = o to me.lstResults.listcount - 1 myVal = lstResults.itemdata(i) Next i if i debug.print myval, i get the list of data items that i want from the list box. so now i am trying to evaluate that list so that I can have an UPDATE SQL statement to update the table as i need it to be done. so, i know this is a mistake, but this is what i tried to do (giving it as an example so that you can see what i am trying to get to here) dim sql as string dim i as integer dim myval as string dim db as database sql = "UPDATE tblMain SET " for i = 0 to me.lstResults.listcount - 1 myval = lstResults.itemdata(i) If MyVal = "DeptA" Then sql = sql & "DeptA = Yes" ElseIF myval = "DeptB" Then sql = sql & "DeptB = Yes" ElseIf MyVal = "DeptC" Then sql = sql & "DeptC = Yes" ElseIf MyVal = "DeptD" Then sql = sql & "DeptD = Yes" End If Next i debug.print (sql) sql = sql & ";" set db= currentdb db.execute(sql) msgbox "Good Luck!" So you can see why this is going to cause problems because the listbox that these values (DeptA, DeptB, etc) automatically populate in are dynamic....there is rarely one value in the listbox, and the list of values changes per OrderID (what the form I am using this on populates information for in the first place; unique instance). I am looking for something that will evaluate this list one at a time (i.e. iterate through the list of values, and look for "DeptA", and if it is found add yes to the SQL string, and if it not add no to the SQL string, then march on to the next iteration). Even though the listbox populates values dynamically, they are set values, meaning i know what could end up in it. Thanks for any help, Justin

  • Turning temporary stringstream to c_str() in single statement

    - by AshleysBrain
    Consider the following function: void f(const char* str); Suppose I want to generate a string using stringstream and pass it to this function. If I want to do it in one statement, I might try: f((std::ostringstream() << "Value: " << 5).str().c_str()); // error This gives an error: 'str()' is not a member of 'basic_ostream'. OK, so operator<< is returning ostream instead of ostringstream - how about casting it back to an ostringstream? 1) Is this cast safe? f(static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(std::ostringstream() << "Value: " << 5).str().c_str()); // incorrect output Now with this, it turns out for the operator<<("Value: ") call, it's actually calling ostream's operator<<(void*) and printing a hex address. This is wrong, I want the text. 2) Why does operator<< on the temporary std::ostringstream() call the ostream operator? Surely the temporary has a type of 'ostringstream' not 'ostream'? I can cast the temporary to force the correct operator call too! f(static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(std::ostringstream()) << "Value: " << 5).str().c_str()); This appears to work and passes "Value: 5" to f(). 3) Am I relying on undefined behavior now? The casts look unusual. I'm aware the best alternative is something like this: std::ostringstream ss; ss << "Value: " << 5; f(ss.str().c_str()); ...but I'm interested in the behavior of doing it in one line. Suppose someone wanted to make a (dubious) macro: #define make_temporary_cstr(x) (static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(static_cast<std::ostringstream&>(std::ostringstream()) << x).str().c_str()) // ... f(make_temporary_cstr("Value: " << 5)); Would this function as expected?

  • How to increment counters based on a printed array

    - by Sam Liew
    I managed to developed a simple board of 5x5 using random numbers and array. Big achievement for someone like me! :) Now I have to increment the counters depending on the frequency of the numbers. If the value within 0-49 is printed..then nCounter++ If the value within 50-75 is printed..then pCounter++ something like that. The problem is that I don't know how to increase the counters based on the printed board. Here is the code: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <time.h> int main() { //Initialize Variables int randomNumber; int rows; int columns; int hdCounter =0; int hCounter = 0; int cCounter = 0; int pCounter = 0; int nCounter = 0; //Declare board size int board[5][5]; //size of board is 5 x 5 //Create the random number generator seed srand(time(NULL)); //Assign the random numbers from 1 - 25 into variable randomNumber //Create the rows for the board for ( rows = 1; rows <= 5 ; rows++ ) { //Create the colimns for the board for ( columns = 1; columns <= 5 ; columns++ ) { //Assign variable randomNumber into variable board randomNumber = rand() %100 + 1; board[rows][columns] = randomNumber; //print the board printf("%d\t", board[rows][columns]); //calculate the frequency of numbers on the printed board if (randomNumber >= 85 && randomNumber <= 100 ) hdCounter++; else if ( randomNumber >= 75 ) hCounter++; else if ( randomNumber >= 65 ) cCounter++; else if ( randomNumber >= 50 ) pCounter++; else if ( randomNumber >= 1 ) nCounter++; else continue; } //Newline after the end of 5th column. printf("\n\n"); } printf( "N \t P \t C \t H \t HD\n\n" ); printf("%d \t %d \t %d \t %d \t %d \t", nCounter, pCounter, cCounter, hCounter, hdCounter); }//end main I tried replacing randomNumber in the if-statement with board[rows][columns] but I seem to get the same undesired results.

  • Unity JS - simple if statements not behaving as expected?

    - by IHazABone
    I have a simple script (please no remarks on the fact that I'm not using a switch statement or better code, this is the earliest version and written this way by a peer, I am improving it) that takes an object and moves it back and forth. For some reason, the variable time gets stuck at 249. It is probably an obvious bug with this inefficient logic, but I cannot seem to find it. var speed = 1; private var time = 0; function Start() { } function Update() { if(condition == true)moveStuff(); } function moveStuff() { var timeSwitch = false; if(time == 0)timeSwitch = false; if(time == timeSet)timeSwitch = true; if(direction == 1) { if(timeSwitch == false) { transform.Translate(Vector3.up * (Time.deltaTime * speed)); time += 1; Debug.Log(time); }else if(timeSwitch == true) { transform.Translate(Vector3.up * ((Time.deltaTime * speed) * -1)); time -= 1; Debug.Log(time); } } else if(direction == 2) { if(timeSwitch == false) { transform.Translate(Vector3.down * (Time.deltaTime * speed)); time += 1; Debug.Log("Moved down. "); }else if(timeSwitch == true){ transform.Translate(Vector3.down * ((Time.deltaTime * speed) * -1)); time -= 1; } } else if(direction == 3) { if(timeSwitch == false) { transform.Translate(Vector3.forward * (Time.deltaTime * speed)); time += 1; Debug.Log("Moved forward. "); }else if(timeSwitch == true){ transform.Translate(Vector3.forward * ((Time.deltaTime * speed) * -1)); time -= 1; } } else if(direction == 4) { if(timeSwitch == false) { transform.Translate(Vector3.back * (Time.deltaTime * speed)); time += 1; Debug.Log("Moved back. "); }else if(timeSwitch == true){ transform.Translate(Vector3.back * ((Time.deltaTime * speed) * -1)); time -= 1; } } else if(direction == 5) { if(timeSwitch == false) { transform.Translate(Vector3.right * (Time.deltaTime * speed)); time += 1; Debug.Log("Moved right. "); }else if(timeSwitch == true){ transform.Translate(Vector3.right * ((Time.deltaTime * speed) * -1)); time -= 1; } } else if(direction == 6) { if(timeSwitch == false) { transform.Translate(Vector3.left * (Time.deltaTime * speed)); time += 1; Debug.Log("Moved left.   • Change xml attribute in foreach statement c#

    - by user1913479
    I need to save XML-attribute value in a database, using information if checkbox is checked. If checkbox is checked, the attribute value is "TRUE", otherwise it's false. When I use foreach statement, the last enumerated value is usually assigned. Here is the part of my code: XmlAttribute xmlAttribute = xmlDoc.CreateAttribute("BooleanValue"); foreach (string value in list) //list is a List<object> { XmlNode xmlNode = xmlDoc.CreateNode(XmlNodeType.Element, "VALUE", ""); if (checkBox1.Checked || checkBox2.Checked || checkBox3.Checked) xmlAttribute.Value = "TRUE"; if (!checkBox1.Checked || !checkBox2.Checked || !checkBox3.Checked) xmlAttribute.Value = "FALSE"; xmlNode.Attributes.Append(xmlAttribute); xmlNode.InnerText = val; childNode.AppendChild(xmlNode); } When I run my application, I get an XML attribute xmlAttribute "FALSE" value anyway. What I need to have: I need to have the following XML: <ROOT><NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="TRUE">Value 1</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="TRUE">Value 2</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 3</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 4</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="TRUE">Value 5</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 6</VALUE></NODE> </ROOT> What I actually get: <ROOT><NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 1</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 2</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 3</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 4</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 5</VALUE></NODE> <NODE><VALUE ATTRIBUTE="FALSE">Value 6</VALUE></NODE> </ROOT> Because in C# FALSE value is stayed at last position in foreach loop The question is: how do I do to assign the correct values of my attribute. Thanks

  • C# setting case constant expressions, do they have to follow a specific order?

    - by Umeed
    Say I'm making a simple program, and the user is in the menu. And the menu options are 1 3 5 7 (i wouldn't actually do that but lets just go with it). and I want to make my switch statement using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; namespace DecisionMaking2 { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { Console.WriteLine("Please choose an option: "); string SelectedOpt = Console.ReadLine(); double Selection = Convert.ToDouble(SelectedOpt); double MenuOption = (Selection); switch (MenuOption) { case 1: Console.WriteLine("Selected option #1"); break; case 2: Console.WriteLine("Selected option #3"); break; case 3: Console.WriteLine("Selected option #5"); break; case 4: Console.WriteLine("Selected option #7"); break; default: Console.WriteLine("Please choose from the options List!"); break; } } } } would that work? or would I have to name each case constant expression the option number I am using? I went to the microsoft website and I didn't quite pick up on anything i was looking for. . Also while I have your attention, how would I make it so the user chooses from either option and because I don't know which option the user will select " double MenuOption = " could be anything, whatever the user inputs right? so would what I have even work? I am doing this all by hand, and don't get much lab time to work on this as I have tons of other courses to work on and then a boring job to go to, and my PC at home has a restarting issue lol. soo any and all help is greatly appreciated. p.s the computer I'm on right now posting this, doesn't have any compilers, coding programs, and it's not mine just to get that out of the way. Thanks again!

  • IF statement within WHILE not working

    - by Ds.109
    I am working on a basic messaging system. This is to get all the messages and to make the row of the table that has an unread message Green. In the table, there is a column called 'msgread'. this is set to '0' by default. Therefore it should make any row with the msgread = 0 - green. this is only working for the first row of the table with the code i have - i verified that it is always getting a 0 value, however it only works the first time through in the while statement .. require('./connect.php'); $getmessages = "SELECT * FROM messages WHERE toperson = '" . $userid . "'"; echo $getmessages; $messages = mysql_query($getmessages); if(mysql_num_rows($messages) != 0) { $table = "<table><tr><th>From</th><th>Subject</th><th>Message</th></tr>"; while($results = mysql_fetch_array($messages)) { if(strlen($results[message]) < 30){ $message = $results[message]; } else { $message = substr($results[message], 0 ,30) . "..."; } if($results[msgread] == 0){ $table .= "<tr style='background:#9CFFB6'>"; $table .= "<td>" . $results[from] . "</td><td>" . $results[subject] . "</td><td><a href='viewmessage.php?id=" . $results[message_id] ."'>" . $message . "</a></td></tr>"; } else { $table .= "<tr>"; $table .= "<td>" . $results[from] . "</td><td>" . $results[subject] . "</td><td><a href='viewmessage.php?id=" . $results[message_id] ."'>" . $message . "</a></td></tr>"; } } echo $table ."</table>"; } else { echo "No Messages Found"; } There's all the code, including grabbing the info from the database. Thanks.

But if it is not Monday, excel will generate 3 emails with only 1 attachment/link. My issue is that In my excel spreadsheet there is a tab called Actual and it is populated with a date. If this date within my excel spreadsheet is changed on a monday, to any other day of the week, my vba code will still treat the program as if it is Monday. I need an IF statement that will allow the 3 emails with the 3 attachements/links to generate given the date typed in on the Actual tab within my spreadsheet. I hope this isnt confusing.

  • How Can I Set Up a "Where" Statement with a PHP Array

    - by Ryan
    Am I able to apply "where" statements to PHP arrays, similar to how I would be able to apply a "where" statement to a MySQL query? For example, suppose I have the following array: $recordset = array( array('host' => 1, 'country' => 'fr', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 1, 'clicks' => 123, 'users' => 4), array('host' => 1, 'country' => 'fr', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 2, 'clicks' => 134, 'users' => 5), array('host' => 1, 'country' => 'fr', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 3, 'clicks' => 341, 'users' => 2), array('host' => 1, 'country' => 'es', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 1, 'clicks' => 113, 'users' => 4), array('host' => 1, 'country' => 'es', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 2, 'clicks' => 234, 'users' => 5), array('host' => 1, 'country' => 'es', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 3, 'clicks' => 421, 'users' => 2), array('host' => 1, 'country' => 'es', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 4, 'clicks' => 22, 'users' => 3), array('host' => 2, 'country' => 'es', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 1, 'clicks' => 111, 'users' => 2), array('host' => 2, 'country' => 'es', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 2, 'clicks' => 2, 'users' => 4), array('host' => 3, 'country' => 'es', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 3, 'clicks' => 34, 'users' => 2), array('host' => 3, 'country' => 'es', 'year' => 2010, 'month' => 4, 'clicks' => 1, 'users' => 1),); How can I limit the output to only show the keys and values related to 'host' 1 and 'country' fr? Any help would be great.

  • if statement to check available elements

    - by nicmare
    Hi there, i allways found an answer here just be reading the threads but now its time for my very first thread because i was unable to find related questions: this is my target code: <li> <span class="panel"> <a href="…" class="image" rel="group"> <img title="…" src="…" alt="…" width="128" height="96" /> </a> <span class="sizes"> <span class="button"> <a href="#" class="size1" rel="…" title="1">9x13</a> </span> <span class="button"> <a href="#" class="size2" rel="…" title="3">10x15</a> </span> <span class="button"> <a href="#" class="size3" rel="…" title="6">20x30</a> </span> </span> </span> <a href="…" class="image" rel="group"> <span class="added"></span> <img title="…" src="…" alt="…" width="128" height="96" class="thumbnail" /> </a> </li> i add two "span" elements through jquery: $('.sizes a').click( function (e) { e.preventDefault(); $(this).after("<span class='checked'></span><span class='remove'></span>"); } ); the maximum amount of those s are 3 times in a wrapped div. so i am trying to do is the following: $(".remove").live('click', function(){ $(this).hide(); $(this).prev().hide(); // hide checked span if ($(this).parent().parent().children().children().each().hasClass('checked')) { $(this).parent().parent().parent().next().children(".added").hide(); } } ); of course my if statement is crap. i try it in my own words: if there are more than one span(class=remove) in span(class=panel) then nothing should happen. but if there is just one span(class=remove) left in span(class=panel) THEN should be hidden how do i achieve this? there is an online demonstration of this: http://bit.ly/972be4 as you can see, every time when i hit a button below an image, the image gets marked by a label. and i want to hide this label (class=added) when no button is selected Thank you very much! best wishes from germany

  • With XSLT, how can I use this if-test with an array, when search element is returned by a template call inside the for loop?

    - by codesforcoffee
    I think this simple example might ask the question a lot more clearly. I have an input file with multiple products. There are 10 types of product (2 product IDs is fine enough for this example), but the input will have 200 products, and I only want to output the info for the first product of each type. (Output info for the lowest priced one, so the first one will be the lowest price because I sort by Price first.) So I want to read in each product, but only output the product's info if I haven't already output a product with that same ID. I couldn't figure out how to get the processID template to return a value that I need to do my if-check on, that uses parameters from inside the for-each Product loop -then properly close the if tag in the right place so it won't output the open Product tag unless it passes the if test. I know the following code does not work, but it illustrates the idea and gives me a place to start: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes" cdata-section-elements="prod_name adv_notes"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <List> <xsl:for-each select="ProductGroup"> <xsl:sort select="ActiveProducts/Product/Rate"/> <xsl:variable name="IDarray"> <xsl:for-each select="ActiveProducts/Product"> <xsl:variable name="CurrentID"> <xsl:call-template name="processID"> <xsl:with-param name="ProductCode" select="ProductCode" /> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:variable> <xsl:if test="not(contains($IDarray, $CurrentID))"> <child elem="{@elem}"> <xsl:select value-of="$CurrentID" /> </child> <Product> <xsl:attribute name="ID"> <xsl:select value-of="$CurrentID" /> </xsl:attribute> <prod_name> <xsl:value-of select="../ProductName"/> </prod_name> <rate> <xsl:value-of select="../Rate"/> </rate> </Product> </xsl:if> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:variable> </xsl:for-each> </List> </xsl:template> <xsl:template name="processID"> <xsl:param name="ProductCode"/> <xsl:choose> <xsl:when test="starts-with($ProductCode, '515')">5</xsl:when> <xsl:when test="starts-with($ProductCode, '205')">2</xsl:when> </xsl:choose> </xsl:template> Thanks so much in advance, I know some of the awesome programmers here can help! :) -Holly An input would look like this: <ProductGroup> <ActiveProducts> <Product> <ProductCode> 5155 </ProductCode> <ProductName> House </ProductName> <Rate> 3.99 </Rate> </Product> <Product> <ProductCode> 5158 </ProductCode> <ProductName> House </ProductName> <Rate> 4.99 </Rate> </Product> </ActiveProducts> </ProductGroup> <ProductGroup> <ActiveProducts> <Product> <ProductCode> 2058 </ProductCode> <ProductName> House </ProductName> <Rate> 2.99 </Rate> </Product> <Product> <ProductCode> 2055 </ProductCode> <ProductName> House </ProductName> <Rate> 7.99 </Rate> </Product> </ActiveProducts> </ProductGroup> 200 of those with different attributes. I have the translation working, just needed to add that array and if statement somehow. Output would be this for only that simple input file:

  • Java: Switch statements with methods involving arrays

    - by Shane
    Hi guys I'm currently creating a program that allows the user to create an array, search an array and delete an element from an array. Looking at the LibraryMenu Method, the first case where you create an array in the switch statement works fine, however the other ones create a "cannot find symbol error" when I try to compile. My question is I want the search and delete functions to refer to the first switch case - the create Library array. Any help is appreciated, even if its likely from a simple mistake. import java.util.*; public class EnterLibrary { public static void LibraryMenu() { java.util.Scanner scannerObject =new java.util.Scanner(System.in); LibraryMenu Menu = new LibraryMenu(); Menu.displayMenu(); switch (scannerObject.nextInt() ) { case '1': { System.out.println ("1 - Add Videos"); Library[] newLibrary; newLibrary = createLibrary(); } break; case '2': System.out.println ("2 - Search Videos"); searchLibrary(newLibrary); break; case '3': { System.out.println ("3 - Change Videos"); //Change video method TBA } break; case '4': System.out.println ("4 - Delete Videos"); deleteVideo(newLibrary); break; default: System.out.println ("Unrecognized option - please select options 1-3 "); break; } } public static Library[] createLibrary() { Library[] videos = new Library[4]; java.util.Scanner scannerObject =new java.util.Scanner(System.in); for (int i = 0; i < videos.length; i++) { //User enters values into set methods in Library class System.out.print("Enter video number: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String number = scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("Enter video title: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String title = scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("Enter video publisher: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String publisher = scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("Enter video duration: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String duration = scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("Enter video date: " + (i+1) + "\n"); String date= scannerObject.nextLine(); System.out.print("VIDEO " + (i+1) + " ENTRY ADDED " + "\n \n"); //Initialize arrays videos[i] = new Library (); videos[i].setVideo( number, title, publisher, duration, date ); } return videos; } public static void printVidLibrary( Library[] videos) { //Get methods to print results System.out.print("\n======VIDEO CATALOGUE====== \n"); for (int i = 0; i < videos.length; i++) { System.out.print("Video number " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getNumber() + "\n "); System.out.print("Video title " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getTitle() + "\n "); System.out.print("Video publisher " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getPublisher() + "\n "); System.out.print("Video duration " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getDuration() + "\n "); System.out.print("Video date " + (i+1) + ": \n" + videos[i].getDate() + "\n "); } } public static Library searchLibrary( Library[] videos) { //User enters values to setSearch Library titleResult = new Library(); java.util.Scanner scannerObject =new java.util.Scanner(System.in); for (int n = 0; n < videos.length; n++) { System.out.println("Search for video number:\n"); String newSearch = scannerObject.nextLine(); titleResult.getSearch( videos, newSearch); if (!titleResult.equals(-1)) { System.out.print("Match found!\n" + newSearch + "\n"); } else if (titleResult.equals(-1)) { System.out.print("Sorry, no matches found!\n"); } } return titleResult; } public static void deleteVideo( Library[] videos) { Library titleResult = new Library(); java.util.Scanner scannerObject =new java.util.Scanner(System.in); for (int n = 0; n < videos.length; n++) { System.out.println("Search for video number:\n"); String deleteSearch = scannerObject.nextLine(); titleResult.deleteVideo(videos, deleteSearch); System.out.print("Video deleted\n"); } } public static void main(String[] args) { Library[] newLibrary; new LibraryMenu(); } }

  • Wicket, Spring and Hibernate - Testing with Unitils - Error: Table not found in statement [select re

    - by John
    Hi there. I've been following a tutorial and a sample application, namely 5 Days of Wicket - Writing the tests: http://www.mysticcoders.com/blog/2009/03/10/5-days-of-wicket-writing-the-tests/ I've set up my own little project with a simple shoutbox that saves messages to a database. I then wanted to set up a couple of tests that would make sure that if a message is stored in the database, the retrieved object would contain the exact same data. Upon running mvn test all my tests fail. The exception has been pasted in the first code box underneath. I've noticed that even though my unitils.properties says to use the 'hdqldb'-dialect, this message is still output in the console window when starting the tests: INFO - Dialect - Using dialect: org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect. I've added the entire dump from the console as well at the bottom of this post (which goes on for miles and miles :-)). Upon running mvn test all my tests fail, and the exception is: Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Table not found in statement [select relname from pg_class] at org.hsqldb.jdbc.Util.sqlException(Unknown Source) at org.hsqldb.jdbc.jdbcStatement.fetchResult(Unknown Source) at org.hsqldb.jdbc.jdbcStatement.executeQuery(Unknown Source) at org.apache.commons.dbcp.DelegatingStatement.executeQuery(DelegatingStatement.java:188) at org.hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl.DatabaseMetadata.initSequences(DatabaseMetadata.java:151) at org.hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl.DatabaseMetadata.(DatabaseMetadata.java:69) at org.hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl.DatabaseMetadata.(DatabaseMetadata.java:62) at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean$3.doInHibernate(LocalSessionFactoryBean.java:958) at org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTemplate.doExecute(HibernateTemplate.java:419) ... 49 more I've set up my unitils.properties file like so: database.driverClassName=org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver database.url=jdbc:hsqldb:mem:PUBLIC database.userName=sa database.password= database.dialect=hsqldb database.schemaNames=PUBLIC My abstract IntegrationTest class: @SpringApplicationContext({"/com/upbeat/shoutbox/spring/applicationContext.xml", "applicationContext-test.xml"}) public abstract class AbstractIntegrationTest extends UnitilsJUnit4 { private ApplicationContext applicationContext; } applicationContext-test.xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"? <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:tx="http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-2.5.xsd http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx http://www.springframework.org/schema/tx/spring-tx-2.5.xsd" <bean id="dataSource" class="org.unitils.database.UnitilsDataSourceFactoryBean"/ </beans and finally, one of the test classes: package com.upbeat.shoutbox.web; import org.apache.wicket.spring.injection.annot.test.AnnotApplicationContextMock; import org.apache.wicket.util.tester.WicketTester; import org.junit.Before; import org.junit.Test; import org.unitils.spring.annotation.SpringBeanByType; import com.upbeat.shoutbox.HomePage; import com.upbeat.shoutbox.integrations.AbstractIntegrationTest; import com.upbeat.shoutbox.persistence.ShoutItemDao; import com.upbeat.shoutbox.services.ShoutService; public class TestHomePage extends AbstractIntegrationTest { @SpringBeanByType private ShoutService svc; @SpringBeanByType private ShoutItemDao dao; protected WicketTester tester; @Before public void setUp() { AnnotApplicationContextMock appctx = new AnnotApplicationContextMock(); appctx.putBean("shoutItemDao", dao); appctx.putBean("shoutService", svc); tester = new WicketTester(); } @Test public void testRenderMyPage() { //start and render the test page tester.startPage(HomePage.class); //assert rendered page class tester.assertRenderedPage(HomePage.class); //assert rendered label component tester.assertLabel("message", "If you see this message wicket is properly configured and running"); } } Dump from console when running mvn test: [INFO] Scanning for projects...
