    i have windows 2003 domain server in office & two Network printers installed on server. i have installed both printers from server to my PC with windows XP. problem i am facing is: while i start my PC all printers works fine, and after some time my system goes to offline state and printers stop working, until i restart my system again. thanks

    I'm still learning C++ coding. I'm having troubles getting say ResultsBox-Text to printer successfully. What is the proper way to print in C++/CLI? I think im missing something simple. Ive tried multiple different routes/syntax's that ive read online/ in books. All of which got me to a dead end.     I need an easy way to show different document-types (.doc, .xls, .jpg...) in webpages. Ideally a user prints or saves that document and that document is automatically converted to Adobe-Flash. I know there are existing solutions to this. However, I would like to implement them in my own application, written in C#. Can anyone point me in a direction how to write a "Printer" in C#, where printable documents can be printed to, and that outputs a SWF-File? Thanks, Reinhard

  • How to connect a USB GDI printer to Linux over a D-Link print server?

    The setup is the following: +------------+ +-----------------+ +---------+ | HP LJ P1005|--USB--| D-Link DPR-1020 |---LAN---| PC Linux| +------------+ +-----------------+ + +---------+ | +------------+ +--| PC Windows | +------------+ HP LJ P1005 is one of those GDI printers that requires the printer driver to do most of the work for it and therefore is a bit "special". D-Link DPR-1020 is a print server with an Ethernet and an USB port that actually supports printing to challenged (read GDI) printers using a utility called PS-Link. What the utility does is basically mirror a USB port over the network to the print server so that the printer driver and the printer both are happy to talk to each other. The PC-s are notebooks that come and go, i.e. are not there all the time. Is there an equivalent of the D-Link PS-Link utility for Linux that could mirror a USB port over the network for a Linux host? And can the solution be used with D-Link DPR-1020? If not then I basically wasted the money buying the print server because the goal was to share a small printer among a couple of users with diverse operating systems in an office. The print server specs say that it supports Linux and LJ P1005, but the Catch 22 appears to be the solution used for GDI printers... It should be noted that it is possible to print from Linux to LJ P1005 directly over USB. This far sharing involved reconnecting the USB cable to appropriate computer to print. Now one of the desks is separated, so the cable does not work. Searching the net did not yield anything useful. Please do not suggest solutions involving a Windows machine (either virtual or not), my question is whether a solution only involving a Linux machine exists.

  • Why does my Canon printer print document pages at ~25% size?

    I'm using a Canon PIXMA MP250, and I'm running 12.04 LTS. The printer's been working fine for the couple of months I've been a Linux user. That is, until today. I just printed a 1-page ODT document from LibreOffice. Instead of filling the sheet, the document occupies only a little less than 25% of the paper, in the top left corner, and the text has also shrunk to something like 5pt. I looked at the paper format settings for the document and printer, which were set to "letter". I changed these to "A4", hoping that would solve the issue. There was no change, however. I tried printing a different document in LibreOffice and got the same result. I tried exporting the original document to PDF and printing it through Document Viewer. Same result. I then printed a web page from Google Chrome. No formatting problems there. In all cases the print preview looks fine.

  • Powershell or WMI to pull Printer Properties and Additional Drivers?

    What I am trying to accomplish: Use a powershell script (WMI or cmdlets directly, or a combination) to query a 2003 or 2008 server with the PrintServer role, enumerate the printers shared, then list the drivers in use for that printer and specifically if an x86 or x64 driver is being used (or both). I've looked at Win32_Printer, Win32_PrinterDriver, Get-Printer, etc. None of these seem to be able to tell me about x64 drivers or when multiple platform-specific drivers are loaded. Something like: gwmi win32_printer -computername lebowski | %{$name = $_.name $supported = $_.getrelated('Win32_PrinterDriver') | select supportedplatform, driverpath, version Write-Host $name return $supported } Produces the following: PCLOADLETTER supportedplatform : Windows NT x86 driverpath : C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\RIC54Dc.DLL version : 3 However the problem being that particular printer also has x64 drivers loaded. I really don't want to manually check the properties tab of 100 printers just to see if they have the x64 driver loaded.

  • Is there such a thing as a virtual COM port receipt printer?

    I'm debugging some code that writes directly to a COM port in order to print receipts on a receipt printer. The printer model is something like an Epsom TM-88. Instead of printing reams of thermal paper while debugging this code, it would be nice if I could use some kind of virtual printer. Like PDFCreator or FinePrint, but with a virtual COM port instead of a virtual windows printer. Does anyone know of such a thing? Edit: The code sends control characters to get bold text and other formatting. I'd like to see this in the output if possible.

  • How to get "printer ready bytes" from a source in c#?

    Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of trouble here, hoping you can help a fellow programmer out. I have an application that receives a pointer to raw bytes (plus length and stuff) and sends said raw data to a printer. This is important, I have no choice but to use this method to get any printing done. If I send a raw string, it will print with no problem. However, I need to be able to print formatted text, images, etc. So the thing is... I would like to be able to get printer ready bytes from a given source (maybe a pdf, or html, does not matter as long as it contains formatted text and/or images). It would be like "splitting" the print command like so: a) Open file and read data b) Load printer data into memory c) Send bytes to printer Obviously, I've got a) and c) covered, it's b) the one that's breaking my head. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.

    I can't figure out how to properly show the printer preference dialog of a given printer so that the user can change the printer settings. Most of the examples that I can find online manage to show the dialog but any changes the user might make are lost which makes it useless.   • Need a fast test to see if a remote printer is available or not. Using CreateIC now, and when print

    My application does a CreateIC (and later, an OpenPrinter) for the user's default printer. When this is a remote printer, and that printer is powered down or otherwise not present on the network, it takes over 20 seconds for the CreateIC to return. I'm looking for some call I can make that will give me a quick answer if the server is down (so I can return a status and not try to do the CreateIC/OpenPrinter). My environment is c/c++ (non-managed).

    Is coupling these two concepts a bad approach? As of right now I'm delegating all session handling and whether or not a user desires to logout in my config.inc file. As I was writing my Auth class I started wondering whether or not my Auth class should be taking care of most of the logic in my config.inc. Regardless, I'm sure there's a more elegant way of handling this...   • Samsung Color Laser printer CLP-365W: all printout condensed into left half?

    After installing the Samsung Color Laser Printer CLP-365W in 12.04, the printout is condensed into the left half of the A4 page (regardless whether 'fit to page' on or off). This happens both with the automatically recognised Ubuntu driver and the 'Unified Linux driver' from the Samsung website. (The 300.ppd (as per 'Unified driver' install) or 360.ppd are the closest matches to '365'.) Any help?? Test page printout Test page printout closeup

Important to understand that the print failure only happens in certain circumstances: Note: We use a standard Windows printer selection box to choose the printer Terms used Superbase = a program language that uses ntvdm.exe (Windows process hosting 16 bit apps) Local Printer = printing to a driver loaded onto the Server 2008 Redirect Printer = printing to a automatically established remote printer through an RDP connection Printing Scenarios Server 2008 - 1: Print from notepad to a Redirected Printer = works Server 2008 - 2: Print from Superbase to a Local Printer = works Server 2008 - 3: Print from Superbase to a Redirected Printer = fail Server 2003 - 4: Print from Superbase to a Redirected Printer = works Results The print causes a message in the drivers print queue of Local Downlevel Document, no print though and Superbase recognises that the "Print command failed". Eventvwr has no related issues to the print fail Any help greatly appreciated. So far 2 days spent trying to resolve and here goes my weekend :( unless someone has an idea :) Things I have Tried i.     I want to re-indent my code but the rails tags <% foo %> get aligned to the left with no indentation. What I'm using is: markup utilities format pretty print Does anyone know if there is a way to reconfigure this behavior? UPDATE: I just found this out but cant seem to get it working: "The 'Pretty print' option for Markup - Utilities - Format is now implemented internally using a Dreamweaver-style source format profile. This affords slightly prettier output than was possible before. Advanced users can override the factory format profile by placing an appropriately constructed file at ~/Library/Application Support/BBEdit/SourceFormat.profile." I opened the bbedit app package, found the file, copied it to the folder indicated in "application support" and tweaked the desired indentation width just as a test before touching anything else, and it doesnt seem to do anything.

What i would like to do now is to offer the "Export to PDF feature" trasforming the formatted html\css to PDF. I've imported Reportlab Toolkit and it works good but it's not what i need since it forces me to create PDF manually like: pcanvas.drawString(10, 10, 'This is the title Blah blah blah') What i really need is a library like PISA that trasform Html\Css to PDF. Anyone has managed to succesfully intregrate and use PISA on Google App Engine? Any hints?
