  I was tempted to throw in another Dora the Explorer Map reference here, but I came to my senses.Having trouble finding something? Maybe you’re just getting older? I know I am. But still, it’d be nice if my favorite database tool could help me out a bit. Hmmm, what’s this ‘Find Database Object‘ thing over here…sounds like a search mechanism of some sort? You can access this panel from the ‘View‘ menu. It’s a good bit down the screen, so I don’t blame you if you haven’t seen it before. It makes finding ‘stuff’ in your database so much easier. Let’s say I want to find my ‘beer’ objects. I simply need to type my search string and the context (in this case I want it to search EVERYTHING), and hit enter. The search results are listed below and clicking on an object automatically opens it! I know it seems very simple, but I get asked this question a LOT. It will even search through your PL/SQL code! Finding too much? Be sure to toggle off the ‘%’ wildcard check box before doing a search. Working on a Project? I bet you use common column names, or codes, throughout your tables. You could take advantage of this knowledge and use the Find Database Object panel as a substitute connection tree or schema browser. Working on your HR project and want to look at your employee objects? Do a column search for your column ID/key. Sometimes thinking outside the box actually works! Don’t be afraid to tackle a problem from a weird angle, or re-purpose your tools. I do it all the time And I drive the developers nuts trying to do things with the tools they were never designed to do. But I digress. Back to your coding!

  Ive been struggling the last couple of hours with setting up DKIM on my Postfix/CentOS 5.3 server. It finally sends and signs the emails, but apparently Google still does not like it.   The dash can remember the settings for filtered results for the entire session, but not beyond that. Once the profile is logged out and back in the results would reset to their original settings; displaying all the results without filtering. How can I make the results filtering more permanent? IE: How to make the photo lens for instance always show photos from "This Computer" and not from Picasa or Facebook across sessions and not just temporarily?

  I'm trying to add a custom filter to my RadGrid. I have a column, vendNum, which I want to allow users to filter on multiple vendNums with a comma-separated list. Basically, I want the same functionality as an "in" statement in SQL (where vendNum in (X,Y,Z)). • Can not access response.body inside after filter block in Sinatra 1.0

  I'm struggling with a strange issue. According to http://github.com/sinatra/sinatra (secion Filters) a response object is available in after filter blocks in Sinatra 1.0. However the response.status is correctly accessible, I can not see non-empty response.body from my routes inside after filter. I have this rackup file: config.ru require 'app' run TestApp Then Sinatra 1.0.b gem installed using: gem install --pre sinatra And this is my tiny app with a single route: app.rb require 'rubygems' require 'sinatra/base' class TestApp < Sinatra::Base set :root, File.dirname(__FILE__) get '/test' do 'Some response' end after do halt 500 if response.empty? # used 500 just for illustation end end And now, I would like to access the response inside the after filter. When I run this app and access /test URL, I got a 500 response as if the response is empty, but the response clearly is 'Some response'. Along with my request to /test, a separate request to /favicon.ico is issued by the browser and that returns 404 as there is no route nor a static file. But I would expect the 500 status to be returned as the response should be empty. In console, I can see that within the after filter, the response to /favicon.ico is something like 'Not found' and response to /test really is empty even though there is response returned by the route. What do I miss?

  I use addTextChangeListener to filter a list items. When the user enters a character on the editText, items are filtered based on user input. For example, if the user enters "stackoverflow", all items that contains "stackoverflow" are displayed. It works fine except that once the user press backspace to delete character(s), items are no longer filtered until he deletes all characters. For example, my items are: "stackoverflow 1", "stackoverflow 2", "stackoverflow 3", "stackoverflow 4". If user input is "stackoverflow", all items are displayed. If user input is "stackoverflow 1", only "stackoverflow 1" is displayed. Then user deletes the last 2 characters (1 and the space). User input is now "stackoverflow" but "stackoverflow 1" is still displayed and the other items are not displayed.   This is my first Stack Overflow question, so please let me know if I do anything wrong. I wish to create an AllValues filter on a ManyToMany field using the wonderful django-filters application. Basically, I want to create a filter that looks like it does in the Admin, so I also want to use the LinkWidget too. I added "Choice Filter" webpart for month and set connection to list (this works). I added second "Choice Filter" for year and I wanted to do the same. However, I cannot set connection to list, because mylist is disabled in webpart menu "Edit-Connections-Send filter values to". How can I apply 2 filtering criteria? Thanks, Juraj

Instead I use a rule like this: SecRule REQUEST_URI "w00tw00t\.at\.ISC\.SANS\.DFind" SecRule REQUEST_URI "\w00tw00t\.at\.ISC\.SANS" SecRule REQUEST_URI "w00tw00t\.at\.ISC\.SANS" SecRule REQUEST_URI "w00tw00t\.at\.ISC\.SANS\.DFind:" SecRule REQUEST_URI "w00tw00t\.at\.ISC\.SANS\.DFind:\)" Even this does not work. I don't know what to do anymore. Anyone have any advice? Update 1 I see that nobody can solve this problem using mod_security. So far using ip-tables seems like the best option to do this but I think the file will become extremely large because the ip changes serveral times a day. I came up with 2 other solutions, can someone comment on them on being good or not. The first solution that comes to my mind is excluding these attacks from my apache error logs. This will make is easier for me to spot other urgent errors as they occur and don't have to spit trough a long log. The second option is better i think, and that is blocking hosts that are not sent in the correct way. In this example the w00tw00t attack is send without hostname, so i think i can block the hosts that are not in the correct form. Update 2 After going trough the answers I came to the following conclusions. To have custom logging for apache will consume some unnecessary recourses, and if there really is a problem you probably will want to look at the full log without anything missing. It is better to just ignore the hits and concentrate on a better way of analyzing your error logs. Using filters for your logs a good approach for this. Final thoughts on the subject The attack mentioned above will not reach your machine if you at least have an up to date system so there are basically no worries. It can be hard to filter out all the bogus attacks from the real ones after a while, because both the error logs and access logs get extremely large. Preventing this from happening in any way will cost you resources and they it is a good practice not to waste your resources on unimportant stuff. The solution i use now is Linux logwatch. It sends me summaries of the logs and they are filtered and grouped. This way you can easily separate the important from the unimportant. • Would form keys reduce the amount of spam we receive?

  I work for a company that has an online store, and we constantly have to deal with a lot of spam product reviews, and bogus customer accounts. These are all created by automated systems and are more of a nuisance than anything. What I am thinking of (in lieu of captcha, which can be broken) is adding a sort of form key solution to all relevant forms. I know for certain some of the spammers are using XRumer, and I know they seldom request a page before sending us the form data (Is this the definition of CSRF?) so I would think that tying a key to each requested form would at least stem the tide. I also know the spammers are lazy and don't check their work, or they would see that we have never posted a spam review, and they have never gained any revenue from our site. Would this succeed in significantly reducing the volume of spam product reviews and customer account creations we are seeing? EDIT: To clarify what I mean by "Form Keys": I am referring to creating a unique identifier (or "key") that will be used as an invisible, static form field. This key will also be stored either in the database (relative to the user session) or in a cookie variable. When the form's target gets a request, the key must be validated for the form's data to be processed. Those pesky bots won't have the key because they don't load the javascript that generates the form (they just send a blind request to the target) and even if they did load the javascript once, they'd only have one valid key, and I'm not sure they even use cookies.

• Filter, sort and paginate in Codeigniter

  Ive recently started using CodeIgniter as I was searching for a very lightweight framework and it seemed to come up as a top choice. I am new to the whole MVC thing, enjoying it but am stuck with something which seems very simple. I am coding a CMS and need a way to filter, sort and paginate the results. I am used to doing it with querystrings, so I would have something along the lines of: articles.php?order=title&sort=desc&filter=articletitle&page=5 I have no idea how I would go about doing this in CI so I just turned on the EnableQueryStrings in the config and it works fine, but i am getting the feeling its probably not the most elegant solution. I suppose I could have index.php/articles/index/order/title/sort/desc/filter/articletitle/page/5 but to me this seems very inflexible, what if for example i dont need to sort, how would i make sure i am looking at the correct uri segment? any ideas?

• LDAP filter not being considered

  Hi there. I am performing an LDAP search query in C like so; ldap_search_ext_s(ld, BASEDN, SCOPE, FILTER, attrs, 0, NULL, NULL, NULL, LDAP_NO_LIMIT, &res); My search performs fine except when I try to specify FILTER to be; #define FILTER "uid=*", that is, when I try to run a search for all LDAP entries with a uid. Unfortunately my code just returns the first entry for each result that it finds. So, my code might find 50 results, but will return the first entry 50 times. Can anyone suspect what I might be doing wrong here? EDIT: I am stepping through my results like so: for (msg = ldap_first_message(ld, res); msg != NULL; msg = ldap_next_message(ld, msg)) Any help is really appreciated. Ricky.

  I have a dataview that contains a list of tables. I am reading in a list of values that I then want to apply as a filter to this dataview. The list of values is actually in the form of "table1, table2, table3". So I thought I would be able to use this as a filter on my dataview. SqlOp.CommandText = "select name from dbo.sysobjects where xtype='u'"; SqlOp.ExecuteDataReader(); DataView dv = SqlOp.GetDataAsDataView(); SqlOp.CloseConnection(); Returns a list of all the tables in a dataview. Any help on how to filter this dataview? Edit: Not sure if I was completely clear in what I seek to accomplish. • Django QuerySet filter + order_by + limit

  So I have a Django app that processes test results, and I'm trying to find the median score for a certain assessment. I would think that this would work: e = Exam.objects.all() total = e.count() median = int(round(total / 2)) median_exam = Exam.objects.filter(assessment=assessment.id).order_by('score')[median:1] median_score = median_exam.score But it always returns an empty list. I can get the result I want with this: e = Exam.objects.all() total = e.count() median = int(round(total / 2)) exams = Exam.objects.filter(assessment=assessment.id).order_by('score') median_score = median_exam[median].score I would just prefer not to have to query the entire set of exams. I thought about just writing a raw MySQL query that looks something like: SELECT score FROM assess_exam WHERE assessment_id = 5 ORDER BY score LIMIT 690,1 But if possible, I'd like to stay within Django's ORM. Mostly, it's just bothering me that I can't seem to use order_by with a filter and a limit. Any ideas?

• IE6 image scaling with bicubic filter

  I have a project where I have to resize some images in the actual browser side. IE8, FF3 et al all apply a filter to smooth the resizing of the image, so in these browsers everything looks good. In IE7 I have applied the following fix which works great: -ms-interpolation-mode:bicubic; In IE6 however I can only find references to the AlphaImage Filter (the same one used to enable alpha transparency on PNG files). However I can't find an example of how to use it, nor have I been able to get it working myself. Can anyone provide me with an example? Preferably applied to actual img tags, though I could use background images if required. • Django filter with two constraints on related model

  I have a django app with models as follows: A Question model An Answer model, with a ForeignKey back to the Question. (A question can have multiple answers.) A Flag model, with a ForeignKey to the Answer. (An answer can be flagged as inappropriate.) All of the above also have a user field, defining the user that created that object. I'm trying to get a list of all Questions with answers from the current user which have been flagged. I tried this: Question.objects.filter(answer__user=user).\ filter(answer__flag__isnull=True).distinct() … but I believe that will return a list of Questions with answers from the current user and with answers which have been flagged, but will not necessarily guarantee that it is the user's answer that has been flagged. Is there an easy way to do this? Basically, I want to make the answer part of the filter refer to the same answer on both of them. Please let me know if something is unclear.

  I have frmParentForm with multiple controls used to build a filter for frmSubForm. On frmParentForm_Load, I am doing (simplified example): Me.sbfInvoice_List.Form.filter = "[created_on] >= #" & Me.RecentOrderDateCutoff & "#" Me.sbfInvoice_List.Form.FilterOn = True The problem is, on initial load, it seems the subform load is occurring first, so the entire table is loaded. Is there a way (in a different event perhaps) to properly set the subform filter from the parent form so it is applied before the subform does its initial data load? (The subform can exist on its own, or as a child of many different parent forms (sometimes filtered, sometimes not), so I'd rather not put some complicated hack in the subform itself to accomplish this.)
