    The SQL Server team has released SQL Server 2012 SP2 Cumulative Update #1. This cumulative updates Service Pack 2 to include the fixes from SP1 CU#10 and a few from CU#11, including the fix for the online index rebuild corruption issue I discussed recently on SQLPerformance.com .   • New file in ubuntu kernel ppa repository to install?

    Googling this question hasn't brought me to anything so I decided to ask here. Recently I noticed on kernel.org that kernel 3.7 finally considered to be a stable so I decided to upgrade, since I am on 3.7 RC7 but when I opened http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.7.1-raring/ I noticed new file (actually 2 which seems to be identical) linux-headers-3.7.1-030701-omap_3.7.1-030701.201212171620_armhf.deb and linux-image-3.7.1-030701-omap_3.7.1-030701.201212171620_armhf.deb so my question is should I install those as well or continue installing only 4 files (e.g. 3 AMD64 image and headers + all headers)? Thank you.

  • Periodic updates of an object in Unity

    I'm trying to make a collider appear every 1 second. But I can't get the code right. I tried enabling the collider in the Update function and putting a yield to make it update every second or so. But it's not working (it gives me an error: Update() cannot be a coroutine.) How would I fix this?   • JCP.Next Progress Updates

    JSR 355, JCP Executive Committee Merge, is currently nearing the end of the Public Review period.  Review the current draft here and provide feedback here.  The review closes on 12 June 2012.  The JCP Executive Committee met face to face in Sao Paulo, Brazil earlier in May, and has published a revision (version 2.1) of the EC Standing Rules.  The EC Standing Rules were introduced in October 2011 with the launch of JCP version 2.8 (JSR 348).  Version 2.1 of the EC Standing Rules will modify rules for attendance at EC face-to-face meetings. Remote observers will be permitted in "read-only" mode but unless a member attends in person they will be counted as absent.  The review period for these changes will close on June 30 2012.  Please comment on the proposed changes by logging an issue in the JCP EC issue tracker.

    The new Java Components page provides access to the documentation for tools that are available for monitoring, managing, and testing Java applications. Documentation for the new versions of the following tools is available: JavaTest Harness 4.6. The JavaTest harness is a general purpose, fully-featured, flexible, and configurable test harness that is suited for most types of unit testing. See the JavaTest tab for documentation. SigTest 3.1. SigTest is a collection of tools that can be used to compare APIs and to measure the test coverage of an API. See the SigTest tab for documentation. The following tools are part of Oracle Java SE Advanced and Oracle Java SE Suite. Java Mission Control and Java Flight Control 5.4 are supported in JDK 8u20.   • Does Ubuntu integrate patches to the latest distro

    I downloaded 12.10 a day after it was released. It is a little buggy in my system - shows the errors such as a problem has occurred frequently. The developers probably have fixed most of the issues by now. So I was wondering if I was to download a fresh copy of the distribution from ubuntu.com, will the distribution have all the bug patches and updates integrated? Or will I have to run update again to install the patches separately?

  • Caching preventing users seeing site updates

    I'm experiencing a caching issue I can't explain. This is happening across browsers, IPs and ISPs. If a user force-refreshes, they see the new content. If they then refresh or return to the page, the old one displays. I've tried using headers via PHP such as header( 'Expires: Sat, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT' ); header( 'Last-Modified: ' . gmdate( 'D, d M Y H:i:s' ) . ' GMT' ); header( 'Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate' ); header( 'Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0', false ); header( 'Pragma: no-cache' ); Laid out correctly, at the very beginning of the file. The problem persists. A pan-ISP proxy is unlikely. Suggestions?

  • Ubuntu 14.04 + nvidia-331-updates makes a blank desktop screen

    I upgraded my installation from 13.10 to 14.04. The problem is that whenever I install the Nvidia drivers from the GUI, upon reboot or trying to login again it only shows the wallpaper of my desktop and nothing else. The mouse does move around, but nothing works. I am unable to open a terminal or do anything else. If I go into the tty console and purge the drivers, then things seem to work again. I have an Optimus setup, with an onboard Intel and discrete Nvidia GTX770M card. It's a 64-bit architecture. I really need to work with CUDA, and was hopeful after hearing that nvidia-prime was released, but this is a real downer. Any help on this?
