    Can you tell me where to store application specific data on a Win Mobile phone. Let's say my app is named MyApp and I install it in the program files folder. I have two initial files in My Documents that it uses with no problems. But what is the correct destination on the device? Also, when I do an uninstall, do I leave the modified app data?

    Hi all, I am trying to start windows mobile device center on windows 7 machine. But it only shows me the small green window that is shown at loading time and then it is closed automatically. I am not getting what the problem is. I tried to uninstall the previous update then re-installed again but the problem is not gone. Guys please help me out.     I didn't find an explicit answer to this question in the WiX Documentation (or Google, for that matter). Of course I could just write the appropriate registry keys in HKCR, but it makes me feel dirty and I'd expect this to be a standard task which should have a nice default solution. For bonus points, I'd like to know how to make it "safe", i.e. don't overwrite existing registrations for the file type and remove the registration on uninstall only if it has been registered during installation and is unchanged.

    I installed Eclipse and then the Ruby Development Tools (RDT), but it would crash when I try to alter certain features, like having line numbers, how far back to have history, and the code coloring scheme didn't work fully. I decided to try to uninstall Eclipse by doing sudo aptitude remove eclipse and then sudo aptitude install eclipse but instead it installed it back with the broken Ruby plugin. I also tried aptitude purge but that didn't help either. How can I freshly reinstall eclipse and get a properly working Ruby plugin?

I uninstall the old SDk and double click the .dmg file then i got a popup stating that "The following Disk Images couldnt found" and "xcode_3.2.2.2_and_iPhone_SDK_3.2_final.dmg is not recognized".     So I installed a trial of SQL Server 2008 enterprise edition while waiting for MSDN licenses to come through - I now want to uninstall the trial and replace it with a developer edition installation. However, I'd like to first know how long I have left on the trial. Is there a way to do this programmatically with SQL? I looked at create_date in sys.databases, but these give dates that are in 2003 (which is, I guess, when master and model were originally created).

    I am needing to upgrade MYSQL on Ubuntu, it is a production server and naturally cautious. My many googles look to be essentially saying that I need to : 1) Backup my current mysql database and tables/data 2) Uninstall current mysql 3) Install new MYSQL 5+ 4) Restore Databases/ tables and data 5) Hope and Pray I got it right ??   • cygwin: svn does not work anymore

    All of the sudden svn stopped working in cygwin installation on windows xp. when I execute svn binary, nothing happens, svn process does not even show up in the Task Manager. I've reinstalled svn but it did not help (the last resort would be to uninstall cygwin itself).   • Greasemonkey - jQuery not loading

    Hi, I tried to load a copy of jQuery 1.3.2 from jquery.com (because it seems 1.4.0+ aren't treated too well by GM) using @require. Even after I uninstall and reinstall the script, GM does not copy jquery-1.3.2.js to my gm_scripts folder like it should. Tried this almost 10 times today. Also, when I click on "Manage Scripts", it shows my script as running on * even though I've added @include for http://www.catholicon.in/* I'm using the latest updates on both FF 3.6 and GM 0.8 Thanks

Test install crashed and left lots of debris: service shows in the list of services but will not start ('Referenced file does not exist'), is impossible to uninstall ('Action valid only for services that are installed') and is not shown in the Programs and Features aplet.     Currently I have two versions of rack installed on my computer 1.0.1 and 1.2.1 However, when I tried to push my git to Heroku, it complains You have already activated rack 1.0.1, but your Gemfile requires rack 1.2.1. Consider using bundle exec. (Gem::LoadError) How can I deactivate rack 1.0.1 and activate 1.2.1 instead? (I can't uninstall 1.0.1 since it's under system folder and I don't have the root password)

  • Trouble reinstalling Gem after failure

    Yesterday I tried to install Jeweler via Rubygems, however somewhere in the middle of the process I had a power failure, resulting in my computer turning off in the middle of the installation process. Once I got it back up, I tried to reinstall Jeweler, however resulting in an error I've had trouble decoding. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this problem? (I tried uninstall, cleanup and check)
