  • Pass a variable from postDispatch() to view instance in Zend Framework

    I have a controller plugin with postDispatch() hook, and there I have a $variable. How to pass this variable to the view instance? I tried Zend_Layout::getMvcInstance()->getView(), but this returns new view instance (not the application resource). The same with $bootstrap->getResource('view'). I don't want to pass it as a request param. Now, as a workaround I do it using Zend_Registry. But, is it the best way?

  • Local development using HTML5 storage

    I am experimenting with HTML5 local storage functionality, but was frustrated to learn that the browser won't allow local storage when the file is local. My guess is that the browser (Chrome in my case, FF too) wants to see a domain rather than a file location. Has anyone here discovered a workaround for developing locally? Perhaps setting up a local domain? That sounds like too much trouble. There should just be a developer option in the browser, grrrrrr.

    Hi i tried to implement a servlet with servlet (in tomcat 6) which act as as a proxy (for browser), it takes the parsed url, use apache httpclient to get the result & push it back to the client (browser), with http it works well, doesnt work with https , seems the problem concerns unsupported CONNECT method in servlet-api & servlet even doesn't see the request is there any solution/workaround for this? thanx in advanced

  • Multiple Remote call made simultenously

    I was making multiple remote calls and they are done sequentially and when I am getting a result event back it's triggering calls to all the methods with ResultEvent as an argument . I am supposed to receive the result event only in the method given inthe event listener but it's triggering calls to all the methods with ResultEvent as an argument . Has anyone come across this kind of problem? Is there any workaround for it?

    Hi all I have a .swf flash gallery that loads pics from a XML file the probelm is when I modify the XML the modifications do not reflect on the flash till I delete the browsing cache from the browser I tried to disable caching using code like this Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache); Response.AddHeader("Pragma","no-cache"); Response.Expires = -1; but not working is there any workaround for this ? thanks

    Hi! I'm doing a INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE but I need the update part to be conditional, only doing the update if some extra condition has changed. However, WHERE is not allowed on this UPDATE. Is there any workaround for this? I can't do combinations of INSERT/UPDATE/SELECT since this needs to work over a replication.

If this is not possible directly, is there a good workaround ?   • Combobox seems to reload itself

    Hi, I have a combo box drop down for fonts in one of the apps. Now when I click on the dropdown to see the available list of fonts, I see a flickering effect. It seems as if the combo box keeps on reloading itself or getting refreshed. Is it because it covers some of the other UI elements like textboxes when I click to expand the list, or is it some kind of known bug with WPF? Is there a workaround for this?

  • Created query is not supported by my DB

    I created an application using seam-gen. The created operation to search the DB ends with and exception (syntax error). The query has a where clause like this: lower(barcode0_.barcode_ean) like lower((?||'%')) limit ? Does hibnerate or seam create the where clause which my DB can't understand? Or is there a workaround for SQL statement related issues in seam?

    I have a href from that i am giving out a popup , and i want to activate this on my body overload . I am using "document.getElementbyId("myelement").click()" this is working fine in IE but FireFox is not supporting it. And i know that .click() will not be taken by firefox , but i dont have any other way to do it. Can u please suggest me with a workaround that will be accepted by IE as well as FF.     We have a strange samba issue affecting only one user. Our samba setup is as follow : Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga) - Samba Server Samba version 3.0.33-3.14.el5 - Samba version Domain Controller WIN2008R2 Standard - Windows DC Windows 7 64 bit - Client PCs User mentioned that he faced this problem after he force shutdown his PC few weeks ago. By right, for all users when we access \\sambaservername in windows it will show all the shares in the samba server but for this user once he startup his PC he will not be able to access \\sambaservername, Error message Windows cannot access \\sambaservername Current workaround to solve the problem : Try to access one share in \\sambaservername for instance \\sambaservername\sharedfolder1. But even when doing so, it will first prompt an error in the beginning, error message is as follows Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. user need to enter the credentials again and he can access the share. Thereafter, he will be able to access \\sambaservername without any issues. But once he reboots his computer the problem will persists. Troubleshooting done so far: Ensure the following settings: Go to: Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Local Security Policy Select: Local Policies → Security Options "Network security: LAN Manager authentication level" → Send LM & NTLM responses "Minimum session security for NTLM SSP" → uncheck: Require 128-bit encryption Advise user to reset his password and try again but problem still persists Tried my account on users' PC, there is no issues. Tried user account on serveral other Windows 7 PC including mine but problem still persists. Windows XP does not have this problem. Ensure that there is no stored crendentials on the windows 7 PC. Checked the credentials manager in Control Panel as well as typing this command rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr Restart winbindd daemon on samba server but to no avail. I suspect this is due to some caching issue but not sure where is the issue.   • wildcard ssl certificate - exchange 2010 - POP/IMAP problem

    previously we have requested a wildcard ssl certificate from godaddy for our major domain. one of the reasons was the new established exchange server 2010. usually you require following names included in certificiate: FQDN (e.g. mail.whatever.com) Hostname (mail) Domain name (whatever.com) Autodiscover.whatever.com MX Record with the wildcard certificate these are all covered (except of the local hostname). During creation/importing of the ssl certificate into exchange 2010, exchange first asks, if a wildcard certificate is used and then encounters an error - due to the certificate is a wildcard certificate and not a certificate especially generated for the FQDN, SSL for POP and IMAP can not be provided. couldn't find any workaround or solution for this on google, so I hope, maybe some one here has an answer or solution for me! :) the exchange 2010 is running on a windows server 2008 R2 enterprise. thanks in advance and best regards, sise

  • How can I configure Symantec Endpoint Protection Agent to allow access to windows shares?

    I'm having some difficulties exposing a standard windows file share on a Windows Embedded Standard 2009 device that is running Symantec Endpoint Protection Agent 5.1. I'm using simply file sharing to expose a particular directory. That share is visible locally on the machine and externally visible when I disable the endpoint protection agent. I've added a rule (and moved it to the to ensure priority) allowing all hosts access on TDP ports 137,138,138,445 and another rule allowing UDP access on ports 137,138,139. When I try to connect, two endpoint protection dialogs pop up saying: Traffic has been blocked from this application: NWLINK2 IPX Protocol Driver (nwlnkipx.sys) Traffic has been blocked from this application: IPv6 driver (tcpip6.sys) I'm not using IPv6 anywhere. Interestingly, I discovered a workaround in that I can white-list all traffic from the subnet the device is on, which meets my needs, but I'm still curious as to why my original approach wasn't successful. Can anyone suggestion a reason why the above endpoint protection rules won't allow me to access windows file shares on the device?

  • Ubuntu Apache 10 second timeout

    Hi, I'm debugging an API I'm building using netcat to send raw HTTP requests. The thing is that Apache closes the connection after 10 seconds, giving me very little time to type. I know that I could pipe a file to nc, or use any other workaround, but I'd like it to work as it's supposed to. The Timeout directive in apache2.conf is at its default of 300 seconds, KeetAliveTimeout at 15 seconds. Where could this 10 second timeout possibly be defined? I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop.   • Wrong keymap in games under OSX

    While it's somewhat related to gaming, I believe this kind of question definitely belongs here. On most games, I have a very weird problem related to keymap: they apparently load a wrong map, i.e. a legacy one that has not been used since 68k AFAIK, that is a QZERTY, with M to the right of the L. I can't understand why this happens, I guess they use a bugged library for getting keyboard input, I'm not sure. While I can actually bind the keys using this map, sometimes it prevents me from binding some, such as the numbers. A very odd workaround happens with Urban Terror: if I enable and disable fullscreen, it reverts to the correct keymap (didn't try this on other games, such as Aquaria). It may or may not be useful to know that I use a custom keymap but even if I select the standard keymap before starting the game the problem happens anyway.

    I have Kerberos-based authentication and I want to disable it on only root url: mysite.com/. And I want it to works fine on any other page like mysite.com/page1. I have such things in my .htaccess: AuthType Kerberos AuthName "Domain login" KrbAuthRealms DOMAIN.COM KrbMethodK5Passwd on Krb5KeyTab /etc/httpd/httpd.keytab require valid-user I want to turn it off only for root URL. As workaround it is possible to turn off using .htaccess in virtual host config. Unfortunately I don't know how to do it. Part of my vhost.conf: <Directory /home/user/www/current/public/> Options -MultiViews +FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All Order allow,deny Allow from all </Directory> It would be great if you can advice me something!
