  hi all, i'm using c sharp and crystal reports in visual studio 2008 in my application. the problem is that there is a form that i have crystalreporviewer on, when i call the form from form1 by button click event, the form and the report loads perfect, but when i call the from from another from that i've called from form1, this exception appears "load report fail". how can i solve this problem. i've googled and i didn't find any solution. • Problem with literal arguments in the PATTERN string for a python 2to3 fixer

  Hi folks. I'm writing a fixer for the 2to3 tool in python. In my pattern string, I have a section where I'd like to match an empty string as an argument, or an empty unicode string. The relevant chunk of my pattern looks like: (args='""' | args='u""') My issue is the second option never matches. Even if it's alone, it won't match. However, if I simply say args=any and then output args, I can catch cases where args is exactly equal to the second option. Is there some weird unicode handling thing going on? Why won't the second literal option ever match?

• Making a relevant search of text in database using regex

  Can anyone tell me how I could count the possible instances of a keyword in a block of text? I've split a search term up into separate tokens, so just need to run through and do a count for every instance and removing punctuation or other special characters when making the count. Secondly, if someone has inserted search terms surrounded by double quotes, i want to be able to skip explode, but just count instances of that exact phrase. It doesn't have to be case sensitive and I would like to remove punctuation from the phrase when doing the count. Thirdly, in both cases i want to be able to ignore wordpress and html tags. Lastly, if anyone know any good tutorials for relevant searches that answer the questions above, that would cool too. • How do i have optional parameter but still validate them in asp.net mvc routing ?

  I have this route that i just added routes.MapRoute( "MyRoute", "MyController/{action}/{orgId}/{startDate}/{endDate}", new { controller = "MyController", action = "MyAction", orgId = 0, startDate = DateTime.Today.AddMonths(-1), endDate = DateTime.Today }, new { action = new FromValuesListConstraint(new string[] { "MyAction", "MyActionEx" }), orgId = new IntegerRouteConstraint(), startDate = new DateTimeRouteConstraint(), endDate = new DateTimeRouteConstraint() } when i put in this url, it resolves down to the default route (controller, action,id) and the above rout does not catch this url: http://localhost:1713/MyController/MyAction/16 But this below works fine. http://localhost:1713/MyController/MyAction/16/11-May-10/11-May-10 my question is that i thought both would work as i am giving default values to the startDate and enddate fields i tested this using the RouteDebugger and this route turned up false how can i have these last two parameter as optional but still have the validation ?

  I'm writing quite a bit of code in Prototype.js which returns null if a DOM-id wasn't found. $("someId").show(); If someId doesn't exist, a method will be called on null, which halts the entire program, in effect disabling all JS effects after the error. I could just check for null before executing such a statement, but this is getting tiring. I would like to catch an exception but I'm not sure which one its is. MDC lists the following ECMA Script error types: * Error * EvalError * RangeError * ReferenceError * SyntaxError * TypeError * URIError * DOMException * EventException * RangeException Also, do browsers have a unified way of dealing with a method call on null?

• Catching errors in ANTLR and finding parent

  I have found out that I can catch errors during parsing by overwriting displayRecognitionError, but how do I find the parent "node" of this error? ex. if I have the grammar: prog: stat expr; stat: STRING; expr: INTEGER; And give it the input "abc def". Then I will get an error at "def" which should be an integer. At this point I then want to get the parent which is "expr" (since it fails inside the INTEGER part) and it's parent "prog". Kind of like printing stack trace in java. I tried to look at the node from RecognitionException parsed to displayRecognitionError, but it is null, and using CommonErrorNode the parent is null. Should I maybe take a completely different approach?

  The spec for the jQuery ajax.error function is: error(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown)Function I'm trying to catch the error and display the textStatus, but I can't figure out how to specify only the textStatus without having to put in a variable name for XMLHttpRequest and errorThrown.   we are building a NAT program,we change each packet that comes from our internal subnet, change it's source IP address by libnet functions.( catch the packet with libpcap, put it sniff structures and build the new packet with libnet) over TCP, the syn/ack packets are good after the change, and when a HTTP-GET request is coming, we can see by wireshark that there is an error on the checksum field.. all the other fields are exactly the same as the original packet. Is anyone knows what can cause this problem? the new checksum in other packets is calculated as it should be.. but in the HTTP packet it doesn't..

  Hi there, I need to match a series of user inputed words against a large dictionary of words (to ensure the entered value exists). So if the user entered: "orange" it should match an entry "orange' in the dictionary. Now the catch is that the user can also enter a wildcard or series of wildcard characters like say "or__ge" which would also match "orange" The key requirements are: * this should be as fast as possible. * use the smallest amount of memory to achieve it. If the size of the word list was small I could use a string containing all the words and use regular expressions. however given that the word list could contain potentially hundreds of thousands of enteries I'm assuming this wouldn't work. So is some sort of 'tree' be the way to go for this...? Any thoughts or suggestions on this would be totally appreciated! Thanks in advance, Matt

Often times you might have a method that checks numerous conditions and returns a status (lets say boolean for now).   Hi, well I know from my asp.net mvc experience that you can have attributes that handle exceptions (HandleErrorAttribute). As far as I can tell the Controller class has some OnException event which may be integral to this behaviour. However, I want to do something similar in my own code: dream example: public String MyProperty { [ExceptionBehaviour(typeof(FormatException), MyExEnum.ClearValue)] set { _thing.prop = Convert.ToThing(value); } } .... The code above obviously makes very little sense, but is close to the kind of thing I wish to do. I want the attribute on the property set accessor to catch some type of exception and then deal with this in some custom way (or even just swallow it). Any ideas guys?

• Why is display:inline killing IE 8.0 performance?

  I have an image gallery based on this jQuery plugin: http://jqueryfordesigners.com/demo/slider-gallery.html This works really well in Firefox, Chrome and even IE 7.0, but when I try it with more than 50 images in IE 8.0 the performance is incredible slow. Just hovering over the thumbnail brings the CPU load to 100%. At first I thought it's a Javascript problem, so I used the IE profiler, but the results were normal. Next I checked the CSS and finally found the cause: .sliderGallery UL LI { display: inline; } This gets the thumbnails to align horizontally. If I chance it to display:block, performance is fine and the scroller is still working but obviously it looks funny, because the thumbs are aligned vertically. My questions: Why does IE 8 have this problem with many display:inline elements What can I do to solve it I'll gladly provide more information if necessary.

  I'm using the TPL (Task Parallel Library) in .NET 4.0. I want to be able to centralize the handling logic of all unhandled exceptions by using the Thread.GetDomain().UnhandledException event. However, in my application, the event is never fired for threads started with TPL code, e.g. Task.Factory.StartNew(...). The event is indeed fired if I use something like new Thread(threadStart).Start(). This MSDN article suggests to use Task#Wait() to catch the AggregateException when working with TPL, but that is not I want because it is not "centralized" enough a mechanism. Does anyone experience same problem at all or is it just me? Do you have any solution for this?

  I have a Java Swing application using a JList to show some data from a DB. I am trying to retrieve an inbox of basically emails that have not been read however, i am just getting a bunch of gibberish and its reading an email. can you help me modify my code to just read the most recent messages. • What approaches are available to revert an IDirect3DDevice9 instance to its default render state?

  Given an instance of IDirect3DDevice9, what approaches are available to put it in its original render state (i.e. the state it was in when the device was initially created)? The cleanest way that I've come across is to create a state block via IDirect3DDevice9::CreateStateBlock just after the device has been created so that it can be applied later. Unfortunately, I'm operating under the constraints of an existing project such that I can't modify the device creation code; by the time my component gets the device, its default state has been modified. As a result, I'm looking for alternative approaches. Thx! ~Raf
