• Trouble with an depreciated constrictor visual basic visual studio 2010

  My goal is to print labels with barcodes and a date stamp from an entry to a zebra TLP 2844 when the user clicks the ok button/hits enter. i found what i think might be the code for this from zebras site and have been integrating it into my program but part of it is depreciated and i cant quite figure out how to update it. below is what i have so far.   I have tried to upload +100 files to azure with Delphi. However, the calls block the main thread, so I want to do this with a async call or with a background thread.   I am creating a new chart for each row of data in an Excel spreadsheet. I have the Vbasic working properly, but I want to change the position of the chart on the sheet that is added for each row. Below is my code, what do I need to do to change the position of the chart on the page automatically? Ideally, I would like it to be in the upper left hand corner of each sheet. • Transaction Isolation Level of Serializable not working for me

  I have a website which is used by all branches of a store and what it does is that it records customer purchases into a table called myTransactions.myTransactions table has a column named SerialNumber.For each purchase i create a record in the transactions table and assign a serial to it.The stored procedure that does this calls a UDF function to get a new serialNumber before inserting the record.Like below : Create Procedure mytransaction_Insert as begin insert into myTransactions(column1,column2,column3,...SerialNumber) values( Value1 ,Value2,Value3,...., getTransactionNSerialNumber()) end Create function getTransactionNSerialNumber as begin RETURN isnull(SELECT TOP (1) SerialNumber FROM myTransactions READUNCOMMITTED ORDER BY SerialNumber DESC),0) + 1 end The website is being used by so many users in different stores at the same time and it is creating many duplicate serialNumbers(same SerialNumbers).So i added a Sql transaction with ReadCommitted level to the transaction and i still got duplicate transaction numbers.I changed it to SERIALIZABLE in order to lock the resources and i not only got duplicate transaction numbers(!!HOW!!) but i also got sporadic deadlocks between the same stored procedure calls.This is what i tried : (With ommissions of try catch blocks and rollbacks) Create Procedure mytransaction_Insert as begin SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL SERIALIZABLE BEGIN TRASNACTION ins insert into myTransactions(column1,column2,column3,...SerialNumber) values( Value1 ,Value2 , Value3, ...., getTransactionNSerialNumber()) COMMIT TRANSACTION ins SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION READCOMMITTED end I even copied the function that gets the serial number directly into the stored procedure instead of the UDF function call and still got duplicate serialNumbers.So,How can a stored procedure line create something Like the c# lock() {} block. By the way,i have to implement the transaction serial number using the same pattern and i can't change the serialNumber to any other identity field or whatever.And for some reasons i need to generate the serialNumber inside the databse and i can't move SerialNumber generation to application level. • Should this even be a has_many :through association?

  A Post belongs_to a User, and a User has_many Posts. A Post also belongs_to a Topic, and a Topic has_many Posts. class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :posts end class Topic < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :posts end class Post < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :user belongs_to :topic end Well, that's pretty simple and very easy to set up, but when I display a Topic, I not only want all of the Posts for that Topic, but also the user_name and the user_photo of the User that made that Post. However, those attributes are stored in the User model and not tied to the Topic. So how would I go about setting that up? Maybe it can already be called since the Post model has two foreign keys, one for the User and one for the Topic? Or, maybe this is some sort of "one-way" has_many through assiociation. Like the Post would be the join model, and a Topic would has_many :users, :through = :posts. But the reverse of this is not true. Like a User does NOT has_many :topics. So would this even need to be has_many :though association? I guess I'm just a little confused on what the controller would look like to call both the Post and the User of that Post for a give Topic. Edit: Seriously, thank you to all that weighed in. I chose tal's answer because I used his code for my controller; however, I could have just as easily chosen either j.'s or tim's instead. Thank you both as well. This was so damn simple to implement, and I think today marks the day that I'm beginning to fall in love with rails.

  I have a project to do in Visual Basic. My problem is that the outcome is always wrong (ex. instead of 2011 it gives 2000). And i cannot set as Desired unit the Inch(1) or feet(3), it gives the Infinity error. And if i put as Original and Desired unit the inch(1), the outcome is "Not a Number".   Hi All, I am new to Amazon Mechanical Turk, and wanted to create a hit with a qualification task. I am using the command line tools interface. One of the questions in my qualification task involves users selecting a number of options. I use a 'multichooser' selection type. Now I want to grade the responses based on the selections, where each selection has a different score. So for example, s1 has a score of 5, s2 of 10, s3 of 6, and so on. If the user selects s1 and s3, he/she gets a score of 11. Unfortunately, doing something like the following does not work: <AnswerOption> <SelectionIdentifier>s1</SelectionIdentifier> <AnswerScore>5</AnswerScore> </AnswerOption> <AnswerOption> <SelectionIdentifier>s2</SelectionIdentifier> <AnswerScore>10</AnswerScore> </AnswerOption> <AnswerOption> <SelectionIdentifier>s3</SelectionIdentifier> <AnswerScore>6</AnswerScore> </AnswerOption> If I do this, when I select multiple things, I get a score of 0. If I select only one option, say s1, then I get the appropriate score. Can you please help me on how to go about this? The issue I am experiencing is that the collection is getting populated correctly within the property in the class (FetchAll) but when I pass the collection back to the module (Test) all the entries are populated with the last item in the list. • Need to search email body for regex using VBA

  I am trying to write a script that I can run from a rule withing outlook. The goal of this script is to search the email body for a regex pattern, \d{8}-\d{3}\(E\d\) in this case. I want to take that pattern and see if a folder with the name of the match exists and if not create one. I am not super familiar with VBA as I write mostly in python. I have copied and pasted the following bit of code together but at this time I am unable to get the MsgBox to appear when I send an email with 20120812-001(E3) in the body.   Is there any alternate way to create stored procedure without putting all query in one long string if criteria of WWHERE clause can be different. Suppose I have Orders table I want to create stored procedure on this table and there are three column on which I wnat to filter records. 1- CustomerId, 2- SupplierId, 3- ProductId. If user only give CustomerId in search criteria then query should be like following SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE Orders.CustomerId = @customerId And if user only give ProductId in search criteria then query should be like following SELECT * FROM Orders WHERE Orders.ProductId = @productId And if user only all three CustomerId, ProductId, and SupplierId is given then all three Ids will be used in WHERE to filter. There is also chance that user don't want to filter record then query should be like following SELCT * FROM Orders Whenever I have to create this kind of procedure I put all this in string and use IF conditions to check if arguments (@customeId or @supplierId etc) has values.   I'm running dozens of map reduce jobs for a number of different purposes using disco. My data has grown enormous and I thought I would try using DDFS for a change rather than standard txt files. I've followed the DISCO map/reduce example Counting Words as a map/reduce job, without to much difficulty and with the help of others, Reading JSON specific data into DISCO I've gotten past one of my latest problems. I'm trying to read data in/out of ddfs to better chunk and distribute it but am having a bit of trouble.   I have correctly (or prbably not) installed passenger on apache 2. Rack works, but sinatra keeps giving 404's. Here is what works: config.ru: #app = proc do |env| return [200, { "Content-Type" => "text/html" }, "hello <b>world</b>"] end run app Here is what works too: Running the app.rb (see below) with ruby app.rb and then looking at localhost:4567/about and / restarting the app, gives me a correct hello world. w00t. Maybe I am just being stupid and getting "it all wrong?" Otherwise any hints on where to get, read or log more developers data on a running rack, sinatra or passenger app would be helpfull too: to see what sinatra is looking for, for example. • How does it affect me as a developer/engineer/company that Android is open source

  I understand the concept of open source, but I just realized now that I understand it from only one view: when I open source my own code. I don't really understand what benefit I'm getting from receiving the same thing. As a regular developer (like the majority of us here), I did not spend the past 4 years of my life working on "developing" the android. So even though I'm a developer, I'm at the end of the developers chain when it comes to the Android (like most of us). I'm really more of an end user. So my interest in Android isn't really to dedicate all my time to it or work on improving its kernel or anything overly ambitious. So with that clear, as a developer considering developing for the Android, how does it really benefit me that it's open source? What's the added benefit that I'm missing? Can other developers share some concrete ways that its open source status actually affects us as developers. Basically I'm trying to understand how we, at this developer level, can make sense of the fact that it's open source, or is its open source status just hype for us at our end developer level. Thanks

  Hello all, I've been experimenting with Flex Charts (in Flash Builder 4) recently, but have run into one area which didn't quite work as I was expecting. Specifically, when adding and removing a data point from an array, with SeriesInterpolate set. I've put up three examples, as I expect these will make a lot more sense than me trying to explain it with words only!: http://sprymedia.co.uk/media/misc/flex/linechart/LineChart-Add.swf - Clicking the button in the top right adds a new data point to the end of the data array, and the chart is smoothly updated (almost smoothly there is a 1px shift when animating which is odd...) http://sprymedia.co.uk/media/misc/flex/linechart/LineChart-Delete.swf - Clicking the button (which is now labelled incorrectly) will remove the item at the start of the data array - but the chart draws this as if it were removing the end element. http://sprymedia.co.uk/media/misc/flex/linechart/LineChart-AddDelete.swf - This is sort of what I'm eventually aiming for - a smooth side scroll chart, where new data is added at the end and the old data is sifted off the front. However the delete behaviour makes this look a bit odd. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the smooth transition I'm looking with SeriesInterpolate?   The error occurs when I rename the file. I need to be able to the macro automatically recognise the change in the file name and apply it to the macro. • Execute SQL on CSV files via JDBC

  Dear all, I need to apply an SQL query to CSV files (comma-separated text files). My SQL is predefined from another tool, and is not eligible to change. It may contain embedded selects and table aliases in the FROM part. For my task I have found two open-source (this is a project requirement) libraries that provide JDBC drivers: CsvJdbc XlSQL JBoss Teiid Create an Apache Derby DB, load all CSVs as tables and execute the query. These are the problems I encountered: it does not accept the syntax of the SQL (it uses internal selects and table aliases). Furthermore, it has not been maintained since 2004. I could not get it to work, as it has as dependency a SAX Parser that causes exception when parsing other documents. Similarly, no change since 2004. Have not checked if it supports the syntax, but seems like an overhead. It needs several entities defines (Virtual Databases, Bindings). From the mailing list they told me that last release supports runtime creation of required objects. Has anyone used it for such simple task (normally it can connect to several types of data, like CSV, XML or other DBS and create a virtual, unified one)? Can this even be done easily? From the 4 things I considered/tried, only 3 and 4 seem to me viable. Any advice on these, or any other way in which I can query my CSV files? Cheers

  I've got a search form on this page: http://staging-checkpointtracker.aptanacloud.com/events If you select a State from the dropdown you get zero results because you didn't select one or more Event Division (checkboxes). What I want is to default the checkboxes to "checked" when the page first loads...to display Events in all Divisions...but I want changes made by the user to be reflected when they filter.
