  • CodeIgniter Error Log Info + Errors

    - by fatnjazzy
    Hi, IS there a way to save in the log, Info + Errors without debug? Howcome debug level apears with info? If i want to log info "Account id 4345 was deleted by Admin", why do i need to see all of these: DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Config Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Hooks Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 URI Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Router Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Output Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Input Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Global POST and COOKIE data sanitized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Language Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Loader Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Config file loaded: config/safe_charge.php DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Config file loaded: config/web_fx.php DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Helper loaded: loadutils_helper DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Helper loaded: objectsutils_helper DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Helper loaded: logutils_helper DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Helper loaded: password_helper DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Database Driver Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 cURL Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Language Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Config Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Account MX_Controller Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 File loaded: ./modules/accounts/models/pending_account_model.php DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Model Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 File loaded: ./modules/accounts/models/proccess_accounts_model.php DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Model Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 File loaded: ./modules/accounts/models/web_fx_model.php DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Model Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 File loaded: ./modules/accounts/models/trader_account_type_spreads.php DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Model Class Initialized DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 File loaded: ./modules/accounts/models/trader_accounts.php DEBUG - 2010-12-27 08:39:13 --> 192.168.200.32 Model Class Initialized Thanks

  • How do I rename a process on Linux?

    - by jemfinch
I'm using Python, for what it's worth, but will accept answers in any applicable language. I've tried writing to /proc/$pid/cmdline, but that's a readonly file. I've tried assigning a new string to sys.argv[0], but that has no perceptible impact. Are there any other possibilities? My program is executing processes via os.system (equivalent to system(3)) so a general, *NIX-based solution using an additional spawning process would be fine.

  • Developers portfolios

    - by Alex
I'm wondering if you have one, or u know any developer/programmer online portofolio. I know many web developers have one (and in many cases very well designed), but not any C++ developer (for example). On the net there are only some good blogs about some programming language, but in many cases these are extremely poor from a design point of view and i'd say very "nerdy".

  • byte + byte = int... why?

    - by Robert C. Cartaino
Looking at this C# code... byte x = 1; byte y = 2; byte z = x + y; // ERROR: Cannot implicitly convert type 'int' to 'byte' The result of any math performed on byte (or short) types is implicitly cast back to an integer. The solution is to explicitly cast the result back to a byte, so... byte z = (byte)(x + y); // works What I am wondering is why? Is it architectural? Philosophical? We have: int + int = int long + long = long float + float = float double + double = double So why not: byte + byte = byte short + short = short ? A bit of background: I am performing a long list of calculations on "small numbers" (i.e. < 8) and storing the intermediate results in a large array. Using a byte array (instead of an int array) is faster (because of cache hits). But the extensive byte-casts spread through the code make it that much more unreadable.

  • Code Golf: Countdown Number Game

    - by Noldorin
Challenge Here is the task, inspired by the well-known British TV game show Countdown. The challenge should be pretty clear even without any knowledge of the game, but feel free to ask for clarifications. And if you fancy seeing a clip of this game in action, check out this YouTube clip. It features the wonderful late Richard Whitely in 1997. You are given 6 numbers, chosen at random from the set {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100}, and a random target number between 100 and 999. The aim is to make use the six given numbers and the four common arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division; all over the rational numbers) to generate the target - or as close as possible either side. Each number may only be used once at most, while each arithmetic operator may be used any number of times (including zero.) Note that it does not matter how many numbers are used. Write a function that takes the target number and set of 6 numbers (can be represented as list/collection/array/sequence) and returns the solution in any standard numerical notation (e.g. infix, prefix, postfix). The function must always return the closest-possible result to the target, and must run in at most 1 minute on a standard PC. Note that in the case where more than one solution exists, any single solution is sufficient. Examples: {50, 100, 4, 2, 2, 4}, target 203 e.g. 100 * 2 + 2 + (4 / 4) e.g. (100 + 50) * 4 * 2 / (4 + 2) {25, 4, 9, 2, 3, 10}, target 465 e.g. (25 + 10 - 4) * (9 * 2 - 3) {9, 8, 10, 5, 9, 7), target 241 e.g. ((10 + 9) * 9 * 7) + 8) / 5 Rules Other than mentioned in the problem statement, there are no further restrictions. You may write the function in any standard language (standard I/O is not necessary). The aim as always is to solve the task with the smallest number of characters of code. Saying that, I may not simply accept the answer with the shortest code. I'll also be looking at elegance of the code and time complexity of the algorithm! My Solution I'm attempting an F# solution when I find the free time - will post it here when I have something! Format Please post all answers in the following format for the purpose of easy comparison: Language Number of characters: ??? Fully obfuscated function: (code here) Clear (ideally commented) function: (code here) Any notes on the algorithm/clever shortcuts it takes.

  • How to write my own global lock / unlock functions for PostgreSQL

    - by rafalmag
    I have postgresql (in perlu) function getTravelTime(integer, timestamp), which tries to select data for specified ID and timestamp. If there are no data or if data is old, it downloads them from external server (downloading time ~300ms). Multiple process use this database and this function. There is an error when two process do not find data and download them and try to do an insert to travel_time table (id and timestamp pair have to be unique). I thought about locks. Locking whole table would block all processes and allow only one to proceed. I need to lock only on id and timestamp. pg_advisory_lock seems to lock only in "current session". But my processes uses their own sessions. I tried to write my own lock/unlock functions. Am I doing it right? I use active waiting, how can I omit this? Maybe there is a way to use pg_advisory_lock() as global lock? My code: CREATE TABLE travel_time_locks ( id_key integer NOT NULL, time_key timestamp without time zone NOT NULL, UNIQUE (id_key, time_key) ); ------------ -- Function: mylock(integer, timestamp) DROP FUNCTION IF EXISTS mylock(integer, timestamp) CASCADE; -- Usage: SELECT mylock(1, '2010-03-28T19:45'); -- function tries to do a global lock similar to pg_advisory_lock(key, key) CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION mylock(id_input integer, time_input timestamp) RETURNS void AS $BODY$ DECLARE rows int; BEGIN LOOP BEGIN -- active waiting here !!!! :( INSERT INTO travel_time_locks (id_key, time_key) VALUES (id_input, time_input); EXCEPTION WHEN unique_violation THEN CONTINUE; END; EXIT; END LOOP; END; $BODY$ LANGUAGE 'plpgsql' VOLATILE COST 1; ------------ -- Function: myunlock(integer, timestamp) DROP FUNCTION IF EXISTS myunlock(integer, timestamp) CASCADE; -- Usage: SELECT myunlock(1, '2010-03-28T19:45'); -- function tries to do a global unlock similar to pg_advisory_unlock(key, key) CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION myunlock(id_input integer, time_input timestamp) RETURNS integer AS $BODY$ DECLARE BEGIN DELETE FROM ONLY travel_time_locks WHERE id_key=id_input AND time_key=time_input; RETURN 1; END; $BODY$ LANGUAGE 'plpgsql' VOLATILE COST 1;

  • Powerbuilder resources

    - by afilatun
I'm recently working in a company where we use PowerBuilder extensively. The only documentation or resources we have access to is some basic course saying things like "Do A, then B and you'll get C". I was wondering if there is some better crash courses or tutorials for this language on the net or somewhere else which actually explain something instead of simply taking me by the hand.

  • Idiomatic scheme and generic programming, why only on numbers ?

    - by Skeptic
Hi, In Scheme, procedures like +, -, *, / works on different types of numbers, but we don't much see any other generic procedures. For example, length works only on list so that vector-length and string-length are needed. I guess it comes from the fact that the language doesn't really offer any mechanism for defining generic procedure (except cond of course) like "type classes" in Haskell or a standardized object system. Is there an idiomatic scheme way to handle generic procedures that I'm not aware of ?

  • Are there any LIDIL documentation?

    - by Eskat0n
As a part of my univercity work I have to write a program in LIDIL and describe its operators and functions but I can't find any documentation on this language. Naturally I've tried to google but nothing found on the first 40 pages of search results so I gave up. SO is my last hope. Any trace of info about LIDIL is fine for me.

  • Why was this T-SQL Syntax never implemented?

    - by ChrisA
Why did they never let us do this sort of thing: Create Proc RunParameterisedSelect @tableName varchar(100), @columnName varchar(100), @value varchar(100) as select * from @tableName where @columnName = @value You can use @value as a parameter, obviously, and you can achieve the whole thing with dynamic SQL, but creating it is invariably a pain. So why didn't they make it part of the language in some way, rather than forcing you to EXEC(@sql)?

  • Lambda functions

    - by Oden
Hey, I'm really interested in the way of using lambda functions. Does it make sense to use them in a high-level programming language? If yes, why? Is this really just a function embedded in a function (like this) or is there more behind?

  • What can you do in C without "std" includes? Are they part of "C," or just libraries?

    - by Chris Cooper
I apologize if this is a subjective or repeated question. It's sort of awkward to search for, so I wasn't sure what terms to include. What I'd like to know is what the basic foundation tools/functions are in C when you don't include standard libraries like stdio and stdlib. What could I do if there's no printf(), fopen(), etc? Also, are those libraries technically part of the "C" language, or are they just very useful and effectively essential libraries?

  • Manipulate data in the DB query or in the code

    - by DrDro
How do you decide on which side you perform your data manipulation when you can either do it in the code or in the query ? When you need to display a date in a specific format for example. Do you retrieve the desired format directly in the sql query or you retrieve the date then format it through the code ? What helps you to decide : performance, best practice, preference in SQL vs the code language, complexity of the task... ?

  • Standard library function in R for finding the mode?

    - by Nick
In statistical language R, mean() and median() are standard functions which do what you'd expect. mode() tells you the internal storage mode of the R object, not the value that occurs the most in its argument. But surely there is a standard library function that implements mode for a vector (or list).

  • What libraries provide cross-platform 3D and P2P support?

    - by uckelman
I'm trying to find a constellation of libraries which, taken together, meet the following requirements: Smooth scaling, rotation, panning (in two dimensions). I'll have a large bitmap (or SVG, in some cases), maybe up to 10000x10000 pixels, which serves as map, with some middling number of small bitmaps (or, again, possibly SVG) that can be dragged around over it. I need to be able to zoom, rotate, and pan this scene; however, the view will always be normal to (i.e., looking head-on at) the large bitmap, so I'm not really using the depth dimension. Peer-to-peer. I'd like for multiple users to be able to connect in order to share one of the scenes mentioned above, preferably peer-to-peer, without much configuration by the user. I'm intending to have a server running for cases where users are unable to connect P2P; I'd like to have the failover happen automatically, or possibly have some way of promoting clients who are capable to be servers themselves. Synchronization. Once a user has started dragging one of the small bitmaps (a piece), no other user should be able to drag that piece until the drag stops. I haven't thought of exactly how to do this---there might be a simple solution, or this kind of synchronization might be something that a library provides. Cross(ish)-platform. I need to be able to run on Linux, Windows, and Mac OS. It would be nice to also be able to run on tablets. Having mostly the same code for all platforms is a plus, but not absolutely necessary. (L)GPL compatible. I'm planning to release under the LGPL or GPL, preferably the latter, so I need libraries which have compatible licenses. I'm not set on any particular language, I'd like to use the library or libraries which make the work easiest, though my preference is to work in at most two languages for the project. (The Model could potentially be in one language and the View in another, so they could talk to each other via some protocol I define, if that would get me a better selection of libraries to use.) Can anyone offer suggestions for what to use?
