  • Junit run not picking file src/test/resources. For file required by some dependency jar

    Hi, I m facing a issue where test/resource is not picked,but instead jar's main/resource is picked Scenario is like : Myproject src/test/resources--- have config.xml w which should be needed by abc.jar which is a dependecy in Myproject. When running test case for Myproject its loading config.xml of abc.jar instead of Myproject test/resources. - I need to know order in which maven pick resources. - Or wat im trying is not possible.     I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to show all datatips for a single lineseries in a Flex 3 linechart. This chart will have multiple lines and the functionality we're looking for is when a user hovers over a line, show all datatips associated with just that series. Any help would be appreciated. showAllDataTips will not work in this case as it will display all datatips on the chart. Thanks! Rich

    Hi, I having few questions about typed in ANSI C: 1. what's the difference between "\x" in the beginning of a char to 0x in the beginning of char (or in any other case for this matter). AFAIK, they both means that this is hexadecimal.. so what's the difference. when casting char to (unsigned), not (unsigned char) - what does it mean? why (unsigned)'\xFF' != 0xFF? Thanks!

  • Is it possible to use SQL XML to insert, and get output from each record?

    I would like to perform a SQL XML insert (on MSSQL), and in this case I need to insert a list of files into the DB (this is simple enough). However, there's an auto generated PK column (ID), and I need the ID for each newly created filename without performing a 2nd query. Is this possible? I guess it doesn't matter if the result is/isn't XML, but the input certainly has to be.

  • How do I write object classes effectively when dealing with table joins?

    I should start by saying I'm not now, nor do I have any delusions I'll ever be a professional programmer so most of my skills have been learned from experience very much as a hobby. I learned PHP as it seemed a good simple introduction in certain areas and it allowed me to design simple web applications. When I learned about objects, classes etc the tutor's basic examnples covered the idea that as a rule of thumb each database table should have its own class. While that worked well for the photo gallery project we wrote, as it had very simple mysql queries, it's not working so well now my projects are getting more complex. If I require data from two separate tables which require a table join I've instead been ignoring the class altogether and handling it on a case by case basis, OR, even worse been combining some of the data into the class and the rest as a separate entity and doing two queries, which to me seems inefficient. As an example, when viewing content on a forum I wrote, if you view a thread, I retrieve data from the threads table, the posts table and the user table. The queries from the user and posts table are retrieved via a join and not instantiated as an object, whereas the thread data is called using my Threads class. So how do I get from my current state of affairs to something a little less 'stupid', for want of a better word. Right now I have a DB class that deals with connection and escaping values etc, a parent db query class that deals with the common queries and methods, and all of the other classes (Thread, Upload, Session, Photo and ones thats aren't used Post, User etc ) are children of that. Do I make a big posts class that has the relevant extra attributes that I retrieve from the users (and potentially threads) table? Do I have separate classes that populate each of their relevant attributes with a single query? If so how do I do that? Because of the way my classes are written, based on what I was taught, my db update row method, or insert method both just take the attributes as an array and update all of that, if I have extra attributes from other db tables in each class then how do I rewrite those methods as obbiously updating automatically like that would result in errors? In short I think my understanding is limited right now and I'd like some pointers when it comes to the fundamentals of how to write more complex classes.

Question: If I have a database with many tables, should I create only one edmx for all tables or mutiple edmx files? for example, maybe all security tables for one edmx file, other tables for another edmx file. If there is more than one, then in other tiers, there will have more then on ObjectContext in code for business logic. Which one it the best solution for this case?

Why would nothing be there if the file is there, the variable 'files' has the file as well. Do I need to do anything to the file I put into the Assets folder in get it to be readable?

    I have a Windows 2008 server with two IP addresses assigned to a single NIC. The DNS settings are setup to register the connections's addresses on the DNS server. nslookup shows both IP addresses for the server name. How is name resolution done in this case, i.e. which IP address does the DNS server return for a host lookup? Or does it return both, and the client selects one of the addresses?

When the user enters any of the following urls, I want to just serve my app as usual to them: http://www.mysite.com/ http://www.mysite.com/dog http://www.mysite.com/cat the first case works by default. I'm not sure how to get the /dog and /cat cases to work. I think I have to modify something with the url mappings to get that to work in web.xml.   • IContextMenu::GetCommandString Not showing help text in Windows Explorer

    Hi, i am implementing a shell context menu for windows explorer and have successfully created the menu's. What i am having trouble with is the IContextMenu::GetCommandString method that displays the help text in the status bar when you hover over the selected menu item. When i do hover over each item nothing is displayed, but whats weird is that some of the other items that i didnt create, eg - open, or print have had their help text turned into garbage..   • How to assign a value to an pointer-pointer passed in call by reference?

    I want to achieve something similar to what these guys do here: - (NSUInteger)countForFetchRequest:(NSFetchRequest *)request error:(NSError **)error like you can see, you pass an NSError pointer and that nice method will assign a real NSError object to your pointer in case there is an error. So the cool thing about this is, that the method returns an NSUInteger but can ALSO return an NSError, without having to mess around with ugly and fat arrays or dictionaries. So how could I assign an object to the passed-in error pointer?
