• Flex ProgressBar component problem

  I am trying to use the ProgressBar Flex component inside a custom Actionscript 3.0 component derived from the UIComponent class. I have set the minimum and maximum values etc. _progressBar = new ProgressBar(); _progressBar.label = "Loading"; _progressBar.minimum = 0; _progressBar.maximum = 100; _progressBar.direction = ProgressBarDirection.RIGHT; _progressBar.mode = ProgressBarMode.MANUAL; The component shows the "Loading" text but not the loading bar. Anything like _progressBar.setProgress(20, 100) does not have any effect on the code. Any ideas why this is not working?

• reporting services: use a custom assembly with a local (RDLC) report

  Hello: I am designing a report that will be used in local mode (an RDLC file) in a Winform app. I have a custom assembly with a static class that has some functions that I want to use inside of the report (as expressions). I have found all sorts of help for doing this with RDL reports, but I'm running into a permissions problem with my RDLC report. I get the following error at runtime: "The report references the code module (my module), which is not a trusted assembly". I know that this is some kind of a code security issue, but I'm not sure what to do to fix it. The documentation that I have seen online is aimed at RDL reports, and it instructs me to edit a SQL Server-specific policy file. I'm using RDLC, so there is no sql server involved. What do I need to do to acquire the appropriate permissions?

• Eclipse: What is the minimum Eclipse installation needed for a headless PDE build?

  Hi, I am currently using PDE build in headless mode to build my OSGI Bundle project. The PDE Antrunner task uses an Eclipse installation and I am just pointing it to my local Eclipse installation. unfortunatelly my eclipse installation is about 260MB big, but I assume that a PDE build does NOT require all of those plugins in a standard eclipse installation. Does anyone now what is the minimum list of plugins I need for doing a headless PDE build? All of my dependencies I actually have in a custom target platform folder, so I guess the only thing I need from my eclipse installation are the dependencies which PDE build actually needs. But what are those? Can I shrink my installation to a very minimum? My goal is to also check-in this "build-eclipse" folder into my project's SVN so that when you check it out, you have everything you need to start a full build, without touching any build.properties. But I don't want to commit 266MB of eclipse if I maybe need only 20MB of it. Thanks Christoph

  I have a very long running syncronization task that cannot be interrupted by the screen saver or aggressive power saving modes. I want to make a single api call to stop power save mode and then restore it once the task is done. I already added the <sessionState> tag in my web.config file like this <sessionState mode="InProc" cookieless="false" timeout="20"> </sessionState> I get a session ID in my url like this if I use cookieless="true" http://localhost:2967/%28S%28hcawmi55zoruuy453fbo3k55%29%29/RmdReqBankAccount But I still can't use session variables in my application. I set the variable like this in my login method: Session["username"] = userName; and I retrieve it like this string user_id = (string)Session["username"]; I get an empty string when trying to retrieve values.

  I have an error in my GXT code on Internet Explorer (both Development Mode and not) when i try to attach a label to a panel. The error is "Unknown runtime error number: -2146827687" but this error in a GWT module is throws always, in other gwt modules with a label attached to the panel the error there isn't. The layout of panel is a GridFormLayout developed by me.   Hi, I'm trying to follow Marcus Zarra in his book 'Core Data'. In the book, he makes a small sample application, but it doesn't give much help when things don't work out... He starts out by visually designing three entities, and then adding array controllers for each entity to the main nib. Second, he adds a tableview and some other visual components to show data from the array controllers. So far, I have managed to follow, but now he adds a search field to the gui, and binds it to the same array controller as one of the tableviews. Expected behavior would be for the tableview to get filtered when typing in the search field, but nothing happens. How do I find out what's wrong? • Trying to run WCF web service on non-domain VM, Security Errors

  Am I in a Catch-22 situation here? My goal is to take a WCF service that I inherited, and run it on a VM and test it by calling it from my desktop PC. The VM is in a workgroup, and not in the company's domain. Basically, we need more test environments, ideally one per developer (we may have 2 to 4 people that need this). Thus the idea of the VM was that each developer could have his own web server that somewhat matches or real environment (where we actually have two websites, an external/exposed and internal). [Using VS2010 .NET 4.0] In the internal service, each method was decorated with this attribute: [OperationBehavior(Impersonation = ImpersonationOption.Required)] I'm still researching why this was needed. I think it's because a webapp calls the "internal" service, and either a) we need the credentials of the user, or b) we may doing some PrinciplePermission.Demands to see if the user is in a group. My interest is creating some ConsoleTest programs or UnitTest programs. I changed to allowed like this: [OperationBehavior(Impersonation = ImpersonationOption.Allowed)] because I was getting this error in trying to view the .svc in the browser: The contract operation 'EditAccountFamily' requires Windows identity for automatic impersonation. A Windows identity that represents the caller is not provided by binding ('WSHttpBinding','http://tempuri.org/') for contract ('IAdminService','http://tempuri.org/'. I don't get that error with the original bindings look like this: However, I believe I need to turn off this security since the web service is not on the domain. I tend to get these errors in the client: 1) The request for security token could not be satisfied because authentication failed - as an InnerException of "SecurityNegotiation was unhandled". or 2) The caller was not authenticated by the service as an InnerException of "SecurityNegotiation was unhandled". So can I create some configuration of code and web.config that will allow each developer to work on his own VM? Or must I join the VM to the domain? The number of permutations seems near endless. I've started to create a Word.doc that says what to do with each error, but now I'm in the catch-22 where I'm stuck. • How to debug a native Java crash on Linux?

  I've seen this question and this article on how to debug a native Java crash. The article is with respect to Windows. What are the equivalent debugging aids on Linux? Note: All I have is this crash log from a user in the field. I do not have access to the machine on which the crash occurred. Update: I am pretty sure the crash is due to JNI code we have.   I am currently trying to write an addin for PowerPoint that whenever any PowerPoint document is opened and then run in show mode that the feature to record narration audio and slide timings is automatically activated. However I cannot seem to find that option in the PowerPoint interop object The manual in application way to use this feature in Powerpoint 2007 is under the "Slide Show" tab of the ribbon called "Record Narration". I have found under that I can set under Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.SlideShowSettings.AdvancedSettings to RehearseNewTimings but this does not record narration audio. Does anyone know if this is even possible? Or if I am completely on the wrong track here. Thanks in advance for any repsonse

  Hi All, In my work place, we have several classic ASP and ASP.NET application. All these application though doing different works are integrated through a single sign on mode, which is handled by one main application. The main application is in classic ASP and verifies the userid and password initially and then stores the UserID in a session variable, which is then used by all other ASP and ASP.NET page as a valid Authenticated user. (For DOT NET pages we use session bridging) Is this how authentication is done is classic ASP? • Deploying Pylons with Nginx reverse proxy?

  Is there a tutorial on how to deploy Pylons with Nginx? I've been able to start nginx and then serve pylons to :8080 with paster serve development.ini However, I can't seem to do other stuff as pylons locks me into that serve mode. If I try to CTRL+Z out of pylons serving to do other stuff on my server, pylons goes down. There must be a different method of deployment. PS - I've done all this: http://wiki.pylonshq.com/display/pylonscookbook/Running+Pylons+with+NGINX?showComments=true#comments I just have no clue what to do with the Pylons app other than paster serve. Not sure if tehre is a different method.

• pdb show different variable values than print statements

  Hi, everyone. I am debugging a python module with homemade c extensions. The output seems correct when I print it with 'p' in pdb. But if I use a normal print statement or pickle it, the output is wrong. What could be causing pdb to show different values than normal execution? I can even step to the print statement in debug mode, and pdb will show the correct value but the program will print the wrong one. The problem seems to happen only when I have called a certain c extension earlier. Glad to post code if that helps. Thank you.

  Is there anyway from a C prog to find whether the OS is currently running in 32bit or 64bit mode. I am using a simple program as below int main(void){ switch(sizeof(void*)){ case 4: printf("32\n"); break; case 8: printf("64\n"); break; } } Is this a correct approach ? Would this code work in all the scenarios like, If the hardware is 64bit and the OS is 32bit what would it return ? I don't have machine to test this in diff configurations. Thanks for the advice.

• Perforce command line only showing local users/changelists/workspaces, but P4V shows all

  We are using P4 for free with two users. In the P4V admin gui I can see both myself and my partner as users, and in the P4V gui I can see all workspaces (clients) and all changelists (both mine and my partner's). From the command line, 'p4 users' only shows me, 'p4 clients' only shows my local workspace, etc. Is there some mode, environment setting, or special directory from which I have to use the p4 command line to see those global objects? I believe I am a p4 superuser (since I read this is the default on installation and we didn't change anything). I'm obviously missing something very basic about the relationship between p4 command line and P4V. The reason I need to use the command line is to delete an old client workspace (used on a different machine) that has an empty changelist associated with it. I therefore need to use 'p4 client -d -f old-workspace-name' from the command line. But when I do it tells me client 'old-workspace-name' doesn't exist.

  I'm running this script on a page which shows a box with more information when you roll over it. site for review The script works fine, except theres a flicker of the box before it actually scales. What is causing this? I use the same thing in the main navigation with the same flicking.   Hello all, I've got a chunk of code that's passing an NSMutableDictionary (amongst other things) to a method in another class: [self.shuttle makeAPICallAndReturnResultsUsingMode:@"login" module:@"login" query:credentials]; The NSMutableArray credentials is previously defined like this: NSMutableDictionary *credentials = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; [credentials setObject:username forKey:@"username"]; [credentials setObject:password forKey:@"password"]; The method that receives it looks like this: -(id)makeAPICallAndReturnResultsUsingMode:(NSString *)mode module:(NSString *)module query:(NSMutableDictionary *)query The code works fine up until this point within the above method: [query setObject:self.sessionID forKey:@"session_id"]; At this point, the application terminates -- the console informs me of this exception: * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: method sent to an uninitialized mutable dictionary object' This leads me to believe that I must initialize NSMutableDictionary in some way in my new method before I can access it, but I have no idea how. Any advice?

  Hi, I'm using Cucumber to test a PHP application, and while most everything works without issue, I haven't yet figured out how to retrieve a response object for a request -- I'm looking to test whether a response is successful (code 200) and also to perform some Hpricot parsings of the response body. Right now my env.rb file is pretty simple: require 'webrat' include Webrat::Methods include Webrat::Matchers Webrat.configure do |config| config.mode = :mechanize end And if I put something like this in my step definitions: Given /Debug/ do puts response.to_yaml end I get this error: undefined method `response' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError) ./features/step_definitions/webrat_steps.rb:11:in `/Debug/' features/versions.feature:4:in `Given Debug' Is anyone familiar with this type of situation? best, Jacob

I am inflating the settings via a xml file so that my onCreate (and complete class methods) looks like this: public class FooActivity extends PreferenceActivity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); addPreferencesFromResource(R.xml.preference); } } The javadoc of PreferenceActivity states, that These preferences will automatically save to SharedPreferences as the user interacts with them. To retrieve an instance of SharedPreferences that the preference hierarchy in this activity will use, call getDefaultSharedPreferences(android.content.Context) with a context in the same package as this activity. But how I get the name of the SharedPreference in another Activity? I can only call getSharedPreferences(name, mode) in the other activity but I need the name of the SharedPreference which was used by the PreferenceActivity. What is the name or how can i retrieve it?

• moviePlayBackDidFinish: is not called in application.

  In my application I have used these notifications when playing a video. But, The problem is the control of the program is not entering in to the first two methods(moviePreLoadDidFinish and moviePlayBackDidFinish). It is entering into last method. So, after the video is played and I pressed Done button in the video, I cannot touch any object in screen. I mean I used play button for video to play in a view.
