  • Commenting system for CakePHP blog tutorial

    I'm building off the CakePHP tutorial for the blog engine by adding comments to each post. I am able to add comments by selecting the post that it should be attached to, via a select box. I would like to be able to click an "Add Comment" link within the post and have the association to the post formed programatically. I am unsure how I can pass the post_id to the add method within my comments_controller. The body of my add method is the auto-generated scaffold code. Is it as easy as adding a $postId argument to the add method and write this to the post_id in my comments model? This doesn't feel right though, since I would expect add to be called when my submit button is click on my comments add view. Thanks all.

    I am just getting started with LINQ. I am creating an Entity Framework app that uses the canonical Post and Tag model. A Post contains an ID, Text, and Tags, and a Tag contains an ID, a Name, and Posts. A previous thread on StackOverflow showed me how to query for a Post that matches all Tag objects (A and B and C) in a search list. But how would I query for a Post that matches any Tag (A or B or C) in the list? Thanks for your help.

  • Absolute URL Path for PHP Website

    Hi friends, I am working on a website in a CMS site. I have provided a link in my footer file e.g blogs.php. This page is at the root like "http://www.example.com/new_cms/blogs.php" When I moves to other files link like "http://www.example.com/new_cms/forums" the footer link is changed to "http://www.example.com/new_cms/forums/blogs.php" but the blogs.php page resides at path "http://www.example.com/new_cms/" . I tried different $_SERVER[] variables but got no luck to get the above path "http://www.example.com/new_cms/" means the server name with the directory where the project is currently running from. Any one have idea how to get it done will be a great help. Thanks

  • WordPress update_post_meta values. Delete when empty or just test for ""?

    My function below, will take the values from my custom meta fields (after a post has been edited, and save or publish has been clicked) and update or insert the posted meta values. However, if the user leaves this field blank, I believe I want to delete the meta altogether (so I can test for its presence and display accordingly vs just checking for ""). For example, one of my meta options gives the user the ability to add a Custom title to their post, which when present, will populate the page's tag. However, if the field is left empty, I want to default the tag to the_title(), which is simply the Post title used to identify the page/post. Since I'm not deleting the meta on save, its always present after the first time a user enters something in there, get_post_meta($post-ID,'MyCustomTitle', true) is always true. Further, they cannot blank it out by clearing the title field and hitting publish.     Hi, I'm working on a wordpress site, with a blog post that ends like: http://www.blog.com/?p=2. However, I need to change the wordpress settings so that posts end in the following format: http://www.blog.com/02/11/2009/this-is-a-post. When I do this, obviously it will break outside links to the post that is named http://www.blog.com/?p=2. So my question is how can I manaully redirect a url http://www.blog.com/?p=2 to go to a working url http://www.blog.com/02/11/2009/this-is-a-post ? Thanks.

  • CakePHP delete() function is not working

    Hello, Im just cracking open cakePHP (v1.3.2). I set it up on my local wamp server, seems to work fine except the delete() function doesn't work. I'm following their blog tutorial exactly, its as simple as it can be so I don't understand why its not working. Heres the function in my PostsController class: function delete($id = NULL) { $this->Post->delete($id); $this->Session->setFlash('The post with id: '.$id.' has been deleted.'); $this->redirect(array('action'=>'index')); } The "Delete" link's url looks like http://localhost/posts/delete/id:1 (where the id number matches the particular post, obviously). It redirects and sets the flash message, however there is no number where $id should be in the message, and the post isn't deleted. It seems the proper id is passed through the url, but I don't think it is getting into the function. I dont get it. Any ideas???

    Okay, for all my coding so far I been using GETs and only $_POST on the same script. Ex: profile.php would show all the posts an user made and under each of their post, they can edit their post. The way I been using it is through $_GETs. So.. //this is the link users click to edit their post echo '<td><a href="editad.php?posting_id='.$row3['posting_id'].' ">Edit</a>'; //on the editad.php $posting_id=$_GET['posting_id']; if (isset($posting_id)){ //show all the forms, sqls to do the editing } else{ //if the $_GET hasn't been set echo "You have not specified which ad to edit.     I have a RESTful WCF service with a method declared like this: [OperationContract(Name = "IncrementAge")] [WebInvoke(UriTemplate = "/", Method = "POST", ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json)] Person IncrementAge(Person p); Here's the implementation: public Person IncrementAge(Person p) { p.age++; return p; } So it takes the Person complex type, increments the age property by one, and spits it back, using JSON serialization. I can test the thing by sending a POST message to the service like this: POST http://localhost:3602/RestService.svc/ HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost:3602 User-Agent: Fiddler Content-Type: application/json Content-Length: 51 {"age":25,"firstName":"Hejhaj","surName":"Csuhaj"} This works. What if I'd like to have a method like this? Person IncrementAge(Person p, int amount); So it'd have multiple parameters. How should I construct the POST message for this to work? Is this possible?     I want to assign dynamically the href value depending of certain things, I thing is important to mention that I have a Master Page, url routing and I am assigning absolute paths (like http://www.stackoverflow.com/questions/...). I've tried the following: <a href="<%= DynamicURL%>">testing urls</a> <asp:HyperLink runat="server" ID="hpLink">this teset brouw</asp:HyperLink> and in code behind hpLink.NavigateUrl = "http://www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs"; I have also tried this <a runat="server" id="aAccesories">Testing ...</a> and in code behind I do this: aAccesorios.HRef = "http://www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs"; what ever I try when I see the html source code the links render like this: http://localhost:10027/projectTest/\www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs so I cant create absolute paths or absolute URLS, doesnt matter what I tried, this is weird isnt it? i adds the domain to the urls and then it removes the http:// then it adds the path I wanted hope you can help me, thanks!

    I constantly hear from other people about how much of the stuff they've used to customize their *nix setup they've shamelessly stolen from other people. So in that spirit, I'd like to start a place to share that stuff here on SO. Here are the rules: DON'T POST YOUR ENTIRE DOTFILE. Instead, just show us the cool stuff. One recipe per answer You may, however, post multiple versions of your recipe in the same answer. For example, you may post a version that works for bash, a version that works for zsh, and a version that works for csh in the same answer. State what shells you know your recipe will work with in the answer. Let's build this cookbook as a team. If you find out that an answer works with other shells other than the one the author posted, edit it in. If you like an idea and rewrite it to work with another shell, edit the modified version in to the original post. Give credit where credit is due. If you got your idea from someone else, give them credit if possible. And for those of you (justifiably) asking "Why do we need another one of these threads?": Most of what I've seen is along the lines of "post your entire dotfile." Personally, I don't want to try to parse through a person's entire dotfile to figure out what I want. I just want to know about all the cool parts of it. It's helpful to have a single dotfile thread. I think most of the stuff that works in bash will work in zsh and it may be adapted to work with csh fairly easily.

  • Is it possible to log the first line of the response in apache?

    Hey, We have an Tomcat server where we're trying to log the HTTP version which the response is sent with. We've seen a few times that it seems to be HTTP/0.9, which kills the content (not supported I guess?). We would like to get some stats on this by using the access log in apache. However, since the header line for this isn't prefixed by anything, we cannot use the %{xxx}o logging. Is there a way to get this? An example: Response is: HTTP/1.1 503 This application is not currently available Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type: text/html;charset=utf-8 Content-Length: 1090 Date: Wed, 12 May 2010 12:53:16 GMT Connection: close And we'd like the catch HTTP/1.1 (alternatively, HTTP/1.1 503 This application is not currently available. Is this possible? We do not have access to the application being served, so we need to do this either as a Java filter, or in the tomcat access log - Preferably in the access log.

  • getting active records to display as a plist

    I'm trying to get a list of active record results to display as a plist for being consumed by the iphone. I'm using the plist gem v 3.0. My model is called Post. And I want Post.all (or any array or Posts) to display correctly as a Plist. I have it working fine for one Post instance: [http://pastie.org/580902][1] that is correct, what I would expect. To get that behavior I had to do this: class Post < ActiveRecord::Base def to_plist attributes.to_plist end end However, when I do a Post.all, I can't get it to display what I want. Here is what happens: http://pastie.org/580909 I get marshalling. I want output more like this: [http://pastie.org/580914][2] I suppose I could just iterate the result set and append the plist strings. But seems ugly, I'm sure there is a more elegant way to do this. I am rusty on Ruby right now, so the elegant way isn't obvious to me. Seems like I should be able to override ActiveRecord and make result-sets that pull back more than one record take the ActiveRecord::Base to_plist and make another to_plist implementation. In rails, this would go in environment.rb, right?

  • Add Page Parameter in Zend Framework Doesn't Work

    Hello guys, I've been trying to figure this out these days. I got a problem when I want to add 'page' parameter in my URL for my pagination. This is my router -addRoute('budi',new Zend_Controller_Router_Route(':lang/budi',array('controller' = 'budi', 'action' = 'index', 'page' = 1), array('lang'=$s, 'page' = '\d+'))) -addRoute('budi1',new Zend_Controller_Router_Route(':lang/budi/page/:page',array('controller' = 'budi', 'action' = 'index', 'page' = 1), array('lang'=$s, 'page' = '\d+'))) Then I access my URL http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi but when I hover on my pagination links, the page parameter doesn't appear. The URL is still http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi but if I enter same URL with index in the end like this one http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi/index or like this one http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi/page/1 the page parameter appears perfectly when I click the page 2 link http://localhost/learningsystem/en/budi/index/page/2 Actually, I don't want include 'index' or 'page' at first in my URL. Anyway, I use default pagination.phtml template from Zend. Anyone please help me to solve this problem? Thank you very much

  • Why won't these two mod_rewrite rules work together?

    Here is what I have: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^users/(\d+)/post$ post.php [L] RewriteRule ^users/(\d+)$ user.php?id=$1 [L] The first rule doesn't work. The second one does. All I get when I enter .../users/1/post is a 404 error. What am I doing wrong? Edit: The error log doesn't have anything in it relating to this.

  • Joining tables, if percentage is above certain value

    My question is similar to this one: Compare rows and get percentage However, little different. I adapted my question to the other post. I got 2 tables. First table: user_id | post_id 1 1 1 2 1 3 2 12 2 15 And second table: post_id | rating 1 1 1 2 1 3 2 1 2 5 3 null 3 1 3 4 12 4 15 1 So now I would like to count the rating for each post, in the second table. If the rating has more than, lets say, 50% positive ratings than I want to get the post_id and going it to the post_id from table one and add 1 to the user_id. At the end it would return the user_id with the number of positive posts. The result for above table would be: user_id | helpfulPosts 1 2 2 1 The post with post_id 1 and 3 have positive rating, because more than 50% have ratings of 1-3. The post with id = 2 is not positive, because the rating is exactly 50%. How would I achieve this? For clarification: It's a mysql rdbm and a positive post, is one where the number of rating_ids with 1, 2 and 3 are more than half of the overall rating. Basically the same thing, from the other thread I posted above.

    I want to create a Google Closure Compiler plugin for eclipse. I already have a popup menu entry to compile a Javascript file to its minified version. But it would be more than helpful if every time you save a *.js that minified version would be generated automatically. I read/heard about natures and builders, extension points and IResourceChangeListener. But I did not manage to figure out what I should use and especially how to get it to work. Is there a working example of a plugin that does "the same kind of thing" so I can work from that or a tutorial to write such?     I am using the TDO-miniforms plugin for wordpress. I have a form set up that lets the user submit files. The files are successfully uploaded to the tmp-folder, but once the post is created they are not copied into the allocated post folder. The only thing that is created in the folder with a post id is a file called array. It seems like the file holds the binary data of the uploaded files. The “correct” urls are appended to the post content I am running wordpress 2.9.2 on snow leopard using Mamp.
