  • Dynamic URL for Service Reference in visual Studio 2010

    I am writing a Silverlight 3 application, this app uses a service reference to connect to a SharePoint site by using Sharepoint Lists.asmx web service Now i want to install my app on different servers, and i want my app to use the weBservice of the server on which it is installed (without me specifying it). In Vs2005, we used to specify "dynamic" for the webservice. How can i do this in Visual Studio 2010 (service reference)? there is no "dynamic" property for a service reference. Thanks,

  • MySQL app with Cassandra in mind

    I am planning to make a web app which will eventually use Cassandra. But now that I don't have it and don't have server(s) to run it from, I'd like to start by using MySQL. The question is, is it possible to structure data and queries in such a way that it would be fairly easy to later port it to Cassandra? Main idea, I guess, would be writing MySQL queries that would be possible to change to same Cassandra queries. Maybe you have a better suggestion?

    I'm using session SaveHandler to persist session data in the database. Sample session_data column from the database: Messenger|a:1:{s:13:"page_messages";a:0:{}}userSession|a:1:{s:7:"referer";s:32:"http://cms.dev/user/profile/view";}Zend_Auth|a:1:{s:7:"storage";O:19:"User_Model_Identity":3:{s:2:"id";s:1:"1";s:8:"username";s:13:"administrator";s:4:"slug";s:13:"administrator";}} I want to delete Zend_Auth object from this session data. How can I unserialize those objects and remove object I need? I suspect, that I don't have to write my custom parser, that Zend_Session already has a method to do this. I have tried different combinations of unserialize but it still returns false. I'm using autoloader from ZF 1.10.2 and Doctrine 1.2

    I am writing a client - server system in which I used NON-BLOCKING sockets. My problem is to detect error { while performing send() or write() } that may occur while data transfer. Example lets say, while the data is being transferred the peer crashes. (finds php segments in page) So i used preg_match_all but returns a browser error (page has been moved or no longer exists) Anyone know why?

  • Mysql concurrency: what happens if a locked table is accessed?

    the question is rather simple but I couldn't find a precise answer: in a myisam db, what happens if a php file locks a table (with an atomic operation, say an INSERT) and another php file tries to access the same table (reading or writing)? Now, while it is obvious that the second session will not be able to access the table, what exactly happens? Does it return some kind of error? Does is wait in queue until it is able to access it?   • RAD Visual Web Application Creator/ Builder/ Designer for PHP

    Hi all, I want to see if any of you know a (free and open source will be ideal) tool/ app that can help build a php web application very quickly without investing too much time on writing codes, preferring drag and drop/ point and click work-flow designer for logic design (see Agile from Outsystems below). Plus, visual designer for the business logic is great since it can help a developer visualize the logic better. There are a lot of GUI builders, form builders out there, but I am looking for one app for the entire web application development process. My goal is to find an application that a team of developers can use together and use the build-in code of the app as much as possible. E.g. the app will provide a modular just for handle user login or a shopping cart; a developer just need to drag and drop the modular to the logic designer and the code will be generated. This way the functionality will be in a module and code will always be standard across developers. So if a new developer get on-board, he will just need to use the system and get up and running quickly. To explain this better: there is a lot php frameworks, e.g. cakephp, CodeIgniter, etc which I can use to help coding, but still I need to create (code) the GUI, writing quite a bit of codes. I am looking for a tool/ app that is a little more high level than those frameworks. Here is 2 examples apps I found during my google search which they have visual logic designer and gui builder in one single app. Also a single click deployment (but I need it to be php apps or at least I can deploy the (php) code to a LAMP/ WAMP server): Wavemaker: for JAVA Agile from Outsystems: for JAVA or .net (This one is really good, with work-flow drag and drop logic designer!) Talend: it is just an ETL tool, but the concept is what I want to bring up. Drag and drop, point and click logic design. Custom code can be added if it is needed, but the drag and drop process already finished the structure and most of the coding of the web app one needs to build. I want to list Adobe Flex, but it is more like a GUI designer + IDE, not exactly what I want to describe here. The drag and drop/ work-flow logic designer is a key for the app. I could go for the CMS route by learning how to extend them, but it is not that flexible for me and is a long learning curve. Anybody came across this type of app before? Or any idea of how can I find those apps? I googled them for long time, I don't see any of them for php and just few (just 2) for Java. Not what i am expecting. How do i get only the direct descendants? or how do i get the descendant with a specific classname? because "div.postBody" would be a suitable alternative.
