  • NetBeans ("6.8" and "later") - UML support?

    Hello, I wanted to download the "UML plugin" to NetBeans through the "Tools/Plugins" but I didn't find the plugin there. Then I read in many articles that the "NetBeans UML plugin is not supported anymore" :-( . Then I discovered that there exists some "NetBeans SDE" tool that supports the UML in NetBeans and there exists the "Comunity Edition" of that tool which is free, but only for "non-commercial" uses - so it's not open-source - and so I don't want to use it. So I would like to ask, if Sun (or whoever else who officially maintains (or maintained in the past) the NetBeans UML plugin) is not going to support the UML plugin to NetBeans anymore and if so, is there any "open-source" UML plugin which is supported in version "6.8" and "later" and if so - which? Thank you.

    I am a couchDB newbie and am doing the examples in the O'Reilly CouchDB guide. I have a problem using a view to retrieve a document by key: curl http://127.0.0.1:5984/basic/_design/example/_view/by_date?key="2009/01/15 15:52:20" gives the reply: curl: (52) Empty reply from server but just retrieving all rows: curl http://127.0.0.1:5984/basic/_design/example/_view/by_date gives me 3 rows including the specific row I am looking for: {"id":"hello-world","key":"2009/01/15 15:52:20","value":"Hello World"} why doesn't the key query work? I am using CouchDB version 0.10.0 on Ubuntu 9.10

  • Is there a DRMAA Java library that works with Torque/PBS?

    Does anybody know a Java implementation of the DRMAA-API that is known to work with PBS/Torque cluster software? The background behind this: I would like to submit jobs to a newly set-up linux cluster from java using a DRMAA compliant API. The cluster is managed by PBS/Torque. Torque includes PBS DRMAA 1.0 library for Torque/PBS that contains a DRMA-C binding and provides in libdrmaa.so and .a binaries. I know that Sun grid engine includes a drmaa.jar providing a Java-DRMAA API. In fact I opted to use SGE but it was decided to try PBS first. The theory behind that decision was: 'DRMAA is a standard and therefore a Java API needs only a standards compliant drmaa-c binding.' However, I couldn't find such 'general DRMAA-C-java API' and now assume that this assumption is wrong and that the Java libraries are engine specific. Are we stuck here? Any comments appreciated.

    The same way I now have plt.connect('button_press_event', self.on_click) I would like to have something like plt.connect('each_five_seconds_event', self.on_timer) How can I achieve this in a way that's most similar to what I've shown above?     I'm trying to loop trough Atom feed entries, and get the title attribute lets say, I found this article, I tried this snipped of code : for (final Iterator iter = feeds.getEntries.iterator(); iter.hasNext(); ) { element = (Element)iter.next(); key = element.getAttributeValue("href"); if ((key != null) && (key.length() > 0)) { marks.put(key, key); } } But I get exception saying : java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sun.syndication.feed.synd.SyndEntryImpl cannot be cast to org.jdom.Element at com.emir.altantbh.FeedReader.main(FeedReader.java:47) What did I do wrong? can anyone direct me towards better tutorial or show me where did I make mistake, I need to loop trough entries and extract title tag value. thank you

  • Change the height of a list item when it's in edit mode

    I have custom list item renderers and editors for a List control. I need for the editor to have a greater height then the renderer, i.e., the row should expand(in height) when it goes into edit mode. However, even when the list's variableRowHeight is set to true, it doesn't do what I want: the height seems to be based on the height of the renderer only, not the editor. Is there any way to do what I want?

    Having those tables: table_n1: | t1_id | t1_name | | 1 | foo | table_n2: | t2_id | t1_id | t2_name | | 1 | 1 | bar | I need a query that gives me two result: | names | | foo | | foo / bar | But i cant figure out the right way. I wrote this one: SELECT CONCAT_WS(' / ', table_n1.t1_name, table_n2.t2_name) AS names FROM table_n1 LEFT JOIN table_n2 ON table_n2.t1_id = table_n1.t1_id that works for an half: this only return the 2° row (in the example above): | names | | foo - bar | This query return the 'father' (table_n1) name only when it doesnt have 'childs' (table_n2). How can i fix it?

  • Why is memory management so visible in Java VM?

    I'm playing around with writing some simple Spring-based web apps and deploying them to Tomcat. Almost immediately, I run into the need to customize the Tomcat's JVM settings with -XX:MaxPermSize (and -Xmx and -Xms); without this, the server easily runs out of PermGen space. Why is this such an issue for Java VMs compared to other garbage collected languages? Comparing counts of "tune X memory usage" for X in Java, Ruby, Perl and Python, shows that Java has easily an order of magnitude more hits in Google than the other languages combined. I'd also be interested in references to technical papers/blog-posts/etc explaining design choices behind JVM GC implementations, across different JVMs or compared to other interpreted language VMs (e.g. comparing Sun or IBM JVM to Parrot). Are there technical reasons why JVM users still have to deal with non-auto-tuning heap/permgen sizes?

    Hi, My table result contains fields: id count ____________ 1 3 2 2 3 2 From this table i have to form another table **score** which should look as follows id my_score ___________ 1 1.0000 2 0.6667 3 0.6667 That is my_score=count/MAX(count) but if i give the query as create TEMPORARY TABLE(select id,(count/MAX(count)) AS my_score from result); only 1 st row is retrieved.Can any one suggest the query so that my_score is calculated for all tuples. I also need to do partial matches. Now, if I have 'foobar' and search for '%oob%' I know it'll be really slow - it has to look at every row to see if there is a match.     This great SO answer points to a good sparse solver, but I've got constraints on x (for Ax = b) such that each element in x is >=0 an <=N. The first thing which comes to mind is an QP solver for large sparse matrices. Also, A is huge (around 2e6x2e6) but very sparse with <=4 elements per row. Any ideas/recommendations?

  • Check for Duplicates in a Database Before Entering Data

    Before Entering data into a database, I just want to check that the database doesn't have the same username in the database already. I have the username in SQL set as a key, so it can't be duplicated on that end, but I am looking at finding a more user-friendly error message then "KEY already exists". Is there are simple way to check if the variable value already exists in a row? Thanks!

    How can I validate the cells in a DataGridColumn individually? The validation is configured per-row. For example FIELD VALUE TYPE age 13 Integer height 13x3 Integer registered true Boolean temperature 98.G6 Float In this case, of course 13x3 and 98.G6 would be invalid. Writing a Validator is no problem, and I can grab the TYPE from the data provider object, but now do I get individual access to the GUI cells so I can give the Validator a source which is an individual cell, set the errorString on an individual cell.

I am having trouble mapping the Test collection for each User since I need an intermediary step from User - Course - Test. I am trying to use a SecondaryTable since the User key for the Test is its associated Course row. Am I on the right track using SecondaryTable or is there a way to use a JoinTable without the inverseJoinColumn?

    How can I determine if my client is running OpenJDK with a web plugin? I've tried java.version and the rest of the properties listed here. Running java -version from the terminal works fine, but if I went this route, java would have to be on the user's path, which I don't know if I can trust entirely. Is there any other way to see the string given by java -version programmatically, without shelling out to the command line or terminal? Right now, when I run System.getProperties().getProperty("java.version"), I get Sun Microsystems Inc.!
