    I have an app that I want to interact with a web page. Basically I want to press a button and the web page will open in a new view... Sorry I wasn't clear, I am developing on a Mac for an iPhone. Currently I have a "locate me" app that displays your Latitude and Longitude. I want to use those variables to populate 2 of the blanks on a PHP web page/form I have developed. I have added a label and button to my current app, when the button is pressed the URL with the Lat and Long (as passed vars) are displayed in the label. I want those vars to appear on my web page. Hope this is clearer...   • Amazon EC2 Web server in Load Balancer gives 503

    we've been running our web servers at Amazon with load balancer and auto-scaling for over a year with no problem. All of a sudden today the request began to get aborted with the error: 503 ... Backend server is at capacity The web servers are at 1% CPU and no other alarms trigger. We use Amazons load balancer and nginx.   • Ultra-lightweight web browser?

    Are there any good super-lightweight graphical web browsers out there? I'd like to be able to browse the web on an old PC, but the mainstream crop of browsers is just too heavy, and I don't want to resort to something like Lynx. There must be something decent out there that'll fit in 16 or 32MB of RAM comfortably. 100% standards compliance isn't necessary, but I'd like something that supports the most widely used parts of CSS and JavaScript. The goal is to get 98% of sites usable in a nice, graphical format.

  • How do I nicely manage many localhost web site URIs with IIS7

    I'm having trouble setting up a clean development environment with all the web sites I'm working on. I'm working on up to 40 different web sites, and at least 5 of them simultaneously. I need them all to be in a site root, for URL management to work with all CMSes. My first attempt was to use increasing port numbers for them, beginning with localhost:1000 and working upwards. Unfortunately, it took a great deal of looking up which port belonged to which web site, and it was very irritating. My second try was mapping the irritating ports to real words using the hosts file. So I ended up with localhost.tele2, localhost.ikea, localhost.volvo etc. Unfortunately, this takes a long time to set up (cleaning and adding to the hosts file, setting web site with highest port number in IIS etc.) and regularly I have to flush the DNS cache in order to get some sites working that I've added/removed from the hosts file. So how do I organize a lot of web sites in IIS7 nicely? Perhaps I've missed a very clever method that you're using.

    Though this might appear as a duplicate of Java Web Services , I would like to know Where to start and to continue.In the past, I have invested so much of time to find where to start but I wasn't able to. There are so many jargons and chaos (at least for me!) while reading the pages about web services. There are so many terms - like JAX-RPC, JAX-WS, Axis, Rest, Servlet as WebService, EJB's as Web Service and other terms that I don't know. Can this User group consolidate and give a highlevel overview of Java Web Services which is easy to understand and follow? I appreciate your kindness and thanks for your help.

  • CentOS 6 - iptables preventing web access via port 80

    I'm setting up a new web server with CentOS 6.2 and am not able to connect via the web. Everything looks set up correctly in httpd.conf and Apache is running, so I'm assuming it's an iptables issue.   • Oracle data provider hangs IIS worker process when web site is stopped

    We're experiencing a nasty issue in Oracle 11g Release 2 where the w3wp process takes over and entire processor core, and debugging shows that the Oracle data provider is throwing ThreadAbortExceptions infinitely. A developer found this issue by doing the following: 1) Browse a web site that uses Oracle data connections locally (http://localhost/OracleWebSite) - we use IIS, not the ASP.NET dev server, for all of our sites. This ensures that the w3wp process is running and that an active Oracle pool of connections exists in the app pool. 2) Stop the web site (or perform a Rebuild All operation in Visual Studio on the web site in question). Our Oracle connection handling in the affected applications (all Oracle web apps) is well-established and robust. This issue does not occur if we disable connection pooling. This issue does not occur in Oracle 11g Release 1.

    I am creating a service called TorCompute which allows for creating virtual Tor Hidden Service servers on my infrastructure (I say infrastructure, by that I mean just the 3x 32GB RAM machines waiting to be purchased). What I would like to be able to do is for users to log on, access the web interface and spin up a VM with a variable about of RAM/Disk Space. I've written the PHP for logging in and have a nice web interface, just I need the code to actually create them! How would I go about doing this?   • Apache Web Server character encoding

    I've recently transferred my webapp from my localhost (LH) to a VPS, and have had hebrew chars-encoding probs since. Whenever I send a request with a heb-char it results in "?????" saved to the DB. My LH config was tomcat6, MySQL, and centOS 6.2, opened to the web. In the VPS env I'm behind an Apache Web Server, and the rest is quite the same (though I haven't done anything to its installation). Please note I already have had this problem before, on my LH when the request was sent from IE/chrome (not FF!). The solution was to apply a filter on the the context and change the char-type to UTF-8. My webapp content char-encode is utf-8, MySql server set to utf8 using charset utf8;, and my centOS set to iw_IL.UTF8 using export LANG=iw_IL.UTF8. When I use locale the bash output seems to be set correctly. Any suggestions?

The documentation clearly mentions to access the web-admin through: https://localhost:9443/admin-app but since I don't have a windows OS built under the vCenter (I use the vCenter Appliance) There is no localhost to use. If I try with the host IP I get the error: This PDF explains to install IIS component - But it's ESX 4 - and also not talking about appliance. so, a simple question: how can I access the web-app admin tool? also found a similar question on vmware forum. But I can't understand the solution/if any.

  • Different results between Android Geocoder and Google Geocoding web service

    I am creating an Android application and I need to use the geolocation. I have started by using the Geocoder API from Android (android.location.geocoder) but it causes some issues (timed out waiting for response from server) which seem to be common according to what I have read. To make my application work when this kind of error occurs, I use the Geocoding web service. Now, the application works every time. The problem is that the results returned by the geocoder from API and the geocoder from the web service are not the same. For example the web service returns only 3 addresses with only city name and country whereas the geocoding from the API returns about 8 addresses with the feature name, the thoroughfare, the locality... The question is: is there a way to make the results from the web service exactly the same than the ones from the API? I want when I move the slider to move a dot on the chart accordingly with the slider position. See attached screenshot: As you can see it seems to work fine. I've implemented this behaviour using the pathIntersection() method. On the slide event at each ui.value (x coordinate) I intersect my chartPath (the one from above) with a vertical straight line at the x coordinate. But still there are some problems. One of them is that it runs very hard, and it kinda freezes sometimes.. and very weird sometimes it doesn't seem to intersect at all even it should.. I'll example below 2 cases I identified: M 499.8461538461538 0 L 499.8461538461538 140 M 910 0 L 910 140 Could you please explain why this intersect behaviour happens (it should return a dot).. and the worst part it seems like it happens randomly.. if I use another chartdata. I thought about using Element.getPointAtLength(length), but I don't know how. I think I should save the pathSegments and for each to compute the start Length and the finish Length.

I am trying to add custom control to the same assembly as Visual Web Part and registering control as: <%@ Register TagPrefix="cus" Namespace="SomeCustomControlNameSpace" % When I am trying to access this its throwing runtime error : Unknown server tag 'cus:ControlName'. Do I need to make any Web.Config entry for this? Any Ideas?

    Hi Friends, I have deployed 3 web parts on a site on Sharepoint server. In my 3rd web part, I have a functionality which needs a button click. Now when I click that button, the whole page gets refreshed and I have to scroll down to see the change that has happened due to clicking that functionality in 3rd web part. Is there any way by which when i click on any point of the web part, the page is reloaded but the control point or the focus remains to the same position where I clicked... Help me out.
