I realise there aren't any official ones, but I was hoping I could grab an unofficial one from somewhere?
I'm running 32-bit Windows XP on x86 hardware (Core 2 Duo).
I have a Qt application that I can compile in Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit and on Windows. However, I would like to avoid switching to Windows every time I want to compile the Windows version.
Is there a way I can compile a Windows Qt executable in Ubuntu with mingw32 or something?
Further, is there a way to integrate that compiler into Qt Creator?
I am aware of this question, but it is a bit old now, and some of the answers seem outdated.
Question: please write one answer per GUI you have used, including pros and cons (for example, as far as I can tell, with git gui, you can't manage the stash).
I want to know from basic to advance about WCS. Actually I got this term from a job consultant and after a bit googling I found that it is Web Coverage Service. Is is correct or it has got some other interpretation?
And how to use this in .Net?
Kindly let me know
Thanks in advance

In x86 GNU Assembler there are different suffixes for memory related operations. E.g.:
movb, movs, movw, movl, movq, movt(?)
Now my question is the following:
Does the suffix has ANY effect on how the processor is getting the data out of main memory or will always be one or more 32-bit (x86) chunks loaded into the cache ?
What are the effects beside the memory access?
In C# VS2008 how to replace
new SqlParameter("@Description", SqlDbType.NChar, 1500)
or
new SqlParameter("@IsRequired", SqlDbType.Bit)
to
"@Description", SqlDbType.NChar, 1500
or
"@IsRequired", SqlDbType.B
the idea is to remove new SqlParameter() and leave the parameters inside it.
I have thounds of lines code have this pattern. I just want to pass compile by using some regular expression.
Hi All,
I wonder if anyone could kindly tell me how to write the contents of a JTable to a .txt file. I have a basic knowledge of java and know about FileReaders etc, but just don't know how to do something as complicated as this. Thanks-please could you also provide a bit of sample code. Thanks again
I'm following this awful textbook, going through the basics of create/edit/delete records. The delete bit has a confirm button, and it is handled like so:
[AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)]
public ActionResult Delete(int id, string confirmButton) {
It offers no explanation of why the button is passed as a string or how MVC interprets it.
Can anyone help clarify what's going on here? The Create code has no such string being passed.
I am a bit puzzled by this strange behavior on CentOs 5.4 when starting Tomcat 6.0 as a service
I've added a script at /etc/init.d/tomcat that can start/stop/restart Apache Tomcat 6.0 with user 'tomcat', and registered it as service. The problem with the service is that I am getting a 'Neither the JAVA_HOME nor the JRE_HOME environment variable is defined'. But when type 'sudo -u tomcat echo $JAVA_HOME' I get '/usr/java/jdk1.5.0_22' which is correct since I am using that JDK. What can I do about this?
Looking for a movie/TV API that offers previews (trailers), via widgets or links, as well.
I know IMDB has an API, but it only has metadata. Internet Video Archive also has an API, but, well, lets just say they seem a bit incompetent.
I could use YouTube, but I'd get a lot of cruft and unofficial results. Anyone else have any ideas?
Python's equivalent of what I want is:
>>> #C#: Dictionary<int, string> tempDict = ...
>>> tempDict = {i : str(i) for i in range(200000)}
>>> tempDict[5]
'5'
>>>
The example is a bit simplified, but I can modify it myself; do not want to bother you with details of proprietary classes.
What i'm trying to accomplish, is having a temporal soft delete table.
table Project(ID int)
table ProjectActual(ProjectID int, IsActual bit, ActualAt datetime)
Now is it possible to map a collection of actual projects, where project is actual when there is no record in ProjectActual.ProjectID = ID, or the last record sorted by ActualAt descending has IsActual set to 1 (true)?
Hi,
I know this question is a bit open but I have been looking at Scala/Lift as an alternative to Java/Spring and I am wonder what are the real advantages that Scala/Lift has over it. From my perspective and experience, Java Annotations and Spring really minimizes the amount of coding that you have to do for an application. Does Scala/Lift improve upon that?
JPEG is a lossy compression scheme, so decompression-manipulation-recompression normally reduces the image quality further for each step. Is it possible to rotate a JPEG image without incurring further loss? From what little I know of the JPEG algorithm, it naively seems possible to avoid further loss with a bit of effort. Which common image manipulation programs (e.g. GIMP, Paint Shop Pro, Windows Photo Gallery) and graphic libraries cause quality loss when performing a rotation and which don't?
the cakephp rest tutorial says that post data should be in $this-data, but I am finding that it is not, but instead inside $this-params['form']
However, when using cakephp form helper in a view, the data is in $this-data.
Am I correct to have to check both locations in my controller?
It just seems a bit of a waste of extra code. Shouldnt the data appear in one place for whether it came from a rest rest requestor or Cakephp form post?
ps im using cakephp 1.3
We have a number of integration tests that fail when our staging server goes down for weekly maintenance. When the staging server is down we send a specific response that I could detect in my integration tests. When I get this response instead of failing the tests I'm wondering if it is possible to skip/ignore that test even though it has started running. This would keep our test reports a bit cleaner.
Does anybody have suggestions?

I was reading that JavaDoc for Threadlocal here
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/ThreadLocal.html
and it says
"ThreadLocal instances are typically private static fields in classes that wish to associate state with a thread (e.g., a user ID or Transaction ID). "
But my question is why did they choose to make it static (typically) - it makes it a bit confusing to have "per thread" state but its static?
I can initialize a List like new List{1,2,3,4,5};
However List does not have a constructor which accepts a single parameter.
So I tried to run this through the debugger and it seems to be calling the Add method.
So how does the compiler know which method to invoke to add each individual element.
This may be a silly question but I am a bit confused.
Thanks
Hello,
i'm trying to write unobtrusive default/placeholder text in input (actually, relatively placed label over input, which hides on onFocus, and stays hidden if input isn't empty on onBlur), but I don't want to use jQuery, because this is the only javascript used on page - therefore using jQuery seems a bit over the top.
Please, how can I do this without jQuery?
Thank you.
Hello Guys,
I want to make a slick java commandline app which doesnt include all the nasty "java -jar some.jar arguments"
instead, I would have it work just like
program -option argument
like any other commandline app. I use ubuntu linux, and it would be fine if it included a bit of .sh script or anything. I know I can just create a file with java -jar program.jar and do chmod +x file, afterwards I could run i with ./file, but then how can I pass the arguments to the program ?
Can anybody explain how to free memory of a static member Variable? In my understanding it can only be freed if all the instances of the class are destroyed. I am a little bit helpless at this point...
Some Code to explain it:
class ball
{
private:
static SDL_Surface *ball_image;
};
//FIXME: how to free static Variable?
SDL_Surface* ball::ball_image = SDL_LoadBMP("ball.bmp");
My project currently contains two largish property lists. One is currently 20KB; another is 8KB. So far, I have been maintaining them with xCode's property list editor. This is manageable but also a bit clunky. I am wondering if other people have better ways of doing this?
So far, my lists consist of nested arrays of strings. The depth is not uniform.
Hi, I've done a far bit of research on this via Google and there seems to be quite a few ways of possibly doing this.
I'm looking to incrementally backup new and updated files in two directories on my Plesk run Centos 5.2 server: /backups and /var/www/vhosts (preferable only httdocs within each vhost)
Has anyone got some great feedback from using the various solutions - seems to be various Java, Perl and Ruby based solutions out there.
Many thanks,
Chris
