• Using an object in an if statement... (Android)

  I have an object variable Object test = Spinner.getSelectedItem(); -It gets the selected item from the Spinner (called spinner) and names the item 'test' I want to do an if statement related to that object e.g: 'if (test = "hello") { //do something }' But it appears not to work.... Can someone give me some help? -Do I have to use a different if? or convert the object to string etc.? Thanks alot... James

• How to override the behavior of Spring @Autowired

  Hi a little background: I am Using Spring 2.5, and specifically spring IOC and annotations. I am using @Autowired in my code (the Autowiring is done by type) and use @Component for exposing Classes to the Automatic wiring. The situation described bellow arose while i tried to test my code. now to the problem: Note: i use a different Spring Context for the Test environment. I have a class FOO which is @Autowired but in the test context i want to use a different class of the same type MockFoo (extends FOO) The Spring Setup of course fails do so automatically due to multiple options for the Dependency Injection of the FOO class (both FOO and MockFOO comply to the Type check) I am looking for a way to inject the test bean instead of the original bean. I expected Spring to allow using the Context configurion file to override a bean injection or to order Spring not to autowire a specific bean BUT All these option seem to exists only for the beans which were originally defined in the Spring Context Configuration file

• Installer says I'd need a wireless firmware, but WLAN works without it out of the box

  While installing 12.04.01 (Alternate) on a netbook (Samsung N150Plus), Ubuntu informed me that I'd need the firmware brcm/bcm43xx-0.fw. I skipped this step. If I understand this page correctly, the mentioned firmware is a WLAN driver. However, after the Ubuntu installation was completed, the WLAN worked out of the box. After a few minutes, Ubuntu informed me that there is a firmware update available, which would be the mentioned firmware. Do I need to install this? Is Ubuntu using some kind of "lite" WLAN driver and I might run into problems with certain networks in the future, if I don't use the firmware? Would there be benefits in using the firmware? (maybe longer runtime because of lower consumption?)

  I have this DVB+Analog usb tv tuner Hauppauge WinTV HVR-900 (r2) [USB ID 2040:6502]. This used to work under ubuntu 10.04 LTS. But in 12.04 there seems to be a problem. I have linux-firmware-nonfree and ivtv-utils installed. I am running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS 64 bit with all updates installed and the default unity environment. When I run mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:device=/dev/video1:input=1:norm=PAL I get a solid green screen and no picture. Here input 1 is the composite input of the card. This abstract class is now deprecated and I should use AbstractJUnit38SpringContextTests. • Android Phonegap - TIMEOUT ERROR when trying to set a WebViewClient

  I'm working with Android and Phonegap, and at the moment I'm having trouble with one simple thing. I need to setup a webViewClient to the PhoneGap webView in order to capture the URL of a page finished and to work with that.   I am writing a library that generates derived classes of abstract classes dynamically at runtime. The constructor of the derived class needs a MethodInfo of the base class constructor so that it can invoke it. However, for some reason Type.GetConstructor() returns null.   hi there, i'm trying to learn how to properly setup testing for an ASP.Net MVC. and from what i've been reading here and there thus far, the definition of legacy code kind of piques my interests, where it mentions that legacy codes are any codes without unit tests. so i did my project in a hurry not having the time to properly setup unit tests for the app and i'm still learning how to properly do TDD and unit testing at the same time. then i came upon selenium IDE/RC and was using it to test on the browser end. it was during that time too that i came upon the concept of integration testing, so from my understanding it seems that unit testing should be done to define the test and basic assumptions of each function, and if the function is dependent on something else, that something else needs to be mocked so that the tests is always singular and can be run fast. Questions: so am i right to say that the project should have started with unit test with proper mocks using something like rhino mocks. then anything else which requires 3rd party dll, database data access etc to be done via integration testing using selenium? because i have a function which calls a third party dll, i'm not sure whether to write a unit test in nunit to just instantiate the object and pass it some dummy data which breaks the mocking part to test it or just cover that part in my selenium integration testing when i submit my forms and call the dll. and for user acceptance tests, is it safe to say we can just use selenium again? Am i missing something or is there a better way/framework? i'm trying to put in more tests for regression testing, and to ensure that nothing breaks when we put in new features. i also like the idea of TDD because it helps to better define the function, sort of like a meta documentation. thanks!! hope this question isn't too subjective because i need it for my case.

  I need it in FlexUnit to test private methods. Is there any possibility to do this via reflection by using describeType or maybe flexUnit has some build in facility? I dislike artificial limitation that i cannot test private functions, it greatly reduces flexibility. Yes it is good design for me to test private functions, so please do not advise me to refactor my code. I do not want to break the encapsulation for the sake of unit testing.

There are other controllers with say a @RequestMapping of "/test" etc. My application seems to be mapping correctly for paths like /appname/test, but if I add a trailing slash to the path, like so "/appname/test/ then it maps to the controller that has the @RequestMapping for root path "/". Any idea why?

  My wifi is not working. I have tried ndiswrapper with the XP driver but that still did not work. Please explain to me in layman's terms. I can run commands so if you tell me exactly what to put, i will put it. Basically, ubuntu is not showing a wireless networks option and when I ran some command yesterday it said the driver was UNCLAIMED. Please help. This is a wintec card with realtek rtl8192E chip on it. It is a desktop computer. On a 20gb partition, other 60gb is for windows(yeah its an old desktop). Use windows installer to install ubuntu(this is one of the dell desktops that wont boot ubuntu from disk). So any help is appreciated and I would like to get this done THIS weekend.

  Im curently running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64Bit So, i installed league of legends fine the first time with the opensource ATI Drivers provided by ubuntu itself with no issues at all, but it runs so slow ... max 20fps because those drivers dont fully support my Dual Graphic cards Than i restored system and i installed the Linux Version of the Proper ATI Drivers from the AMD Website wich supports my APU AMD-A8-4500M with the AMD Radeon 7640G + 7670M Graphics Cards enabling me full performance from my system .. Problem is, to run League of Legends i need a 32bit opengl library, and the driver, automaticly detects a 64bits Linux install and loads the 64bit libraries but not the 32 ones . i need some kind of command, to force the 32bit libraries to load, or to make League of Legends run on the 64 ones .. Im kinda noob to ubuntu .. i installed the 32 bits ones trough terminal and still doesnt work idk why, maybe the driver doesnt want to load them .. plzz help me on this, i dont want to go back to windows just to play league since im noob idk what more details to post here so plz tell me what do you need

  I've read that it's unwise to use ToUpper and ToLower to perform case-insensitive string comparisons, but I see no alternative when it comes to LINQ-to-SQL. The ignoreCase and CompareOptions arguments of String.Compare are ignored by LINQ-to-SQL (if you're using a case-sensitive database, you get a case-sensitive comparison even if you ask for a case-insensitive comparison). Is ToLower or ToUpper the best option here? Is one better than the other? I thought I read somewhere that ToUpper was better, but I don't know if that applies here. (I'm doing a lot of code reviews and everyone is using ToLower.)   I have been suggested to use should:rise in my test case to test for errors that a method might raise. For some reason it does not work as axpected, so I want to verify that I'm doing it right. Here is the code in the test case: self should: [aMyClass compareTo: 'This is a string'] raise: 'invalid input'. My compareTo/1 method looks like this: (aMyClass isKindOf: MyClass) ifFalse: [self error: 'invalid input'.]. The test runner output is that there is "1 errors". Thank you.

The last 2 lines throw an error: Notice: Indirect modification of overloaded element. I know ArrayAccess just generally doesn't work with multidimensional arrays, but is there anyway around this or any somewhat clean implementation that will allow the desired functionality? The best idea I could come up with is using a character as a separator and testing for it in set and unset and acting accordingly. Though this gets really ugly really fast if you're dealing with a variable depth. Does anyone know why exists and get work so as to maybe copy over the functionality?   We have a reportserver on sql server 2005, it has previously been working on computer X which we are replacing with a computer Y. Computer X only had one default sql instance as our test environment, machine Y is a new machine with 2 sql instances, Y\TEST and Y\DEV. Both machines run Windows Server 2003 and Both have Sql Server 2005 installed together with Report Server We have not currently done any work on the DEV instance, just on the TEST instance. The reportserver is installed for TEST. SSRS previously worked as intended on X machine, and on Y\TEST its working for reports not using any custom code. However for some of the reports we are loading a custom assembly Localization. This assembly currently exists in following folders on server: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PublicAssemblies C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.2\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin Also in rssrvpolicy.config, the entry for Report_Expressions_Default_Permissions has been changed from Execution to FullTrust (Although this was not necessary on the machine X). When attempting to upload the rdl files through the web interface, we get the following errors: Error while loading code module: ‘Localization, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e302ddd55ecd694a’. Details: Could not load file or assembly 'Localization, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e302ddd55ecd694a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (rsErrorLoadingCodeModule) Get Online Help There is an error on line 14 of custom code: [BC30451] Name 'Localization' is not declared.
