• CompilationMode=Never & SessionState

  It seems that CompilationMode=Never doesn't permit Sessions to be properly wired. It first complains that the EnbaleSessionState directive is not allowed on this page. Explicitly assigning the System.Web.SessionState.IRequiresSessionState to the Page [1] avoids the null reference exceptions (around .Session access) but still doesn't persist or wire-up sessions correctly. Has anyone successfully used ASP.NET Sessions with CompilationMode=Never? Conceptually, why should these be disjoint?? • Visual Studio adding OvalShape and RectangleShape tool references to a project

  Trying to add a 'box' to a form at design time, I looked up the msdn and it clearly states that I should be able to do this using the OvalShape and RectangleShape control tools in my Visual Studio 2008. shape container Now it should be found under the visual Basic PowerPacks, but all I have listed is Pointer and PrintForm, how do I add it?

• Intellisense not working in visual studio 6?

  As I experienced a sudden nostalgic longing for the VB6 of old, I downloaded visual studio 6 from my msdn subscription. To revive my rusty knowledge I very much would like to have intellisense working, but it does not! Is this a known problem with VS6 on Windows 7? I do have the autocomplete option on in the Options menu.

• Why doesn't DomainContext from WCF RIA Services implement the IDisposable pattern ?

  Hi, Just doing some work with RIA services and I see in the MSDN documentation that neither it or any parents up its' hierarchy implement IDisposable. I'm wondering what the design decision was for this...as DomainContext is a stateful resource, wouldn't it be nice to have a Dispose() to release it when done ? Thanks, Scott

• What is IE's Maximum Parallel Connection Accross All Hosts

  Based on the IE documentation on MSDN IE 8 supports up to 6 parallel connections per server and IE 6,7 support 2. What is the upper limit of parallel connections accross all the hosts? So if I have 60 hosts, 8 requests per host, so 360 requests in the HTML page - does it mean that IE 8 will have 360 connection in parallel and IE 6 or 7 would have 120? (ignoring the html rendering time, and if call is blocking or not)

• Azure dev fabric crashes with SocketException when using DotNetOpenAuth

  I'm trying to run ASP.NET MVC 2 web site under the Windows Azure Dev Fabric using the DotNetOpenAuth OpenID authentication. Azure Dev fabric itself repeatedly crashes (dfloadbalancer.exe), when I authenticate. Are there any workarounds for the issue that allow to use Azure Dev fabric and DotNetOpenAuth? MSDN seems to have some old discussion on the same issue which has been abandoned.
