OS: Windows server 2003
I got a huge list of rules that need to be add in IPsec. Is there any way I can do in bulk mode instead of added one by one? If no, it will be a nightmare... Thanks.
I'm converting old Windows desktop machines from 2005-2009 into cheap Ubuntu Linux servers. I want to know which ones can handle a 64-bit OS and which can't. I read that some x86 CPUs are 64-bit compatible. The question is how to check.

Desired feature:

- (optional) the translation should shows in a bubble window
Thanks.
Some web pages won't download fully under any browser on any computer connected to the network. I have Internet access through a wireless modem/router (2 Mbps DSL connection, wireless reception is excellent). I use Opera and when I turn on Opera turbo the same sites download fully. I tried changing to some other dns (opendns, google dns), but it made no difference. What would you suggest I try?

I would like to override the keyboard-shortcut for a particular built-in action in finder (OS X 10.6.7).
An example would be to override the Cmd+N for a New Finder Window to some other action, say Open a blank Text document.
I can create the service for opening a blank Text document in automator - and I can map a new keyboard shortcut for this - but the new keyboard shortcut will not override a default keyboard shortcut.
I do not want to install any 3rd party applications (like QuickSilver).
I keep seeing a lot of stuff about VMware and virtualization on the net these days, after some research it appears it is mainly to run different operating systems on the same PC and also at the same time.
What are some other uses for this technology besides multiple OS's?
Also is there a free version of VMware?
I know this is stupid: I couldn't find anything from IBM website about where to download an IBM jre (specifically, IBM jre1.6.0 J9 2.4 SR6) for a 64-bit Windows OS. Google takes me to a link which looks similar, but that jre would only work on an IBM product, I assume their own server/workstation or something like that.
So I've been stuck by this for quite some time... I couldn't believe there is no such a "previous version repository" or something similar on IBM website :(
Thanks for any suggestion in advance.
Are there any specific known steps which I could take to make my computer with Windows XP Professional booting faster?
I am interested in speeding up following stages in particular:
loading the OS (Windows logo, up to the moment login screen appears)
log in user (from the moment you type your user name and password up to the moment all memory resident programs and services are loaded and the computer is really ready to use)
I need a way to connect to multiple VPNs. It's to access camera systems and resources that are on different networks as a client. One VPN could be a company network, and another a city network. Is there a straightforward way to do this? I've experimented with setting up multiple virtual machines in virtualbox already, and I'd like to avoid having to have a full OS installation for every VPN I want to connect to.
Hi, We plan to host our website on a linux server. The site is created using java based technologies and will run on multiple instances of tomcat with apache in the front. I want to go in for a 64 bit linux OS so that I can install 64bit jvm. So my options are :
Ubuntu
Fedora
CentOS
which one (and which version) would be the most stable?
I've got a USB hub with 4 ports, and I've plugged 2 usb keyboards and 2 usb mouses. They work very fine. I've setup'ed 2 monitors too, so I was thinking about the possibility of the mouse and keyboards works independent one of another. I want two mouse pointers (I think each with different colors) and 2 keyboard cursors.
I think it a nice idea, but I don't know if this is possible... :(
PS: My OS is Windows7

What does each ALL mean? I understand that the whole line indicates that the admin group members get admininstartive privileges, but would like to know more info about the position of the ALLS and if they each refer to a different set of permissions or something like that?
$sudo cat /etc/sudoers
...
# User privilege Information
root ALL=(ALL) ALL
#...
%sudo ALL=(ALL) ALL
#
#includedir /etc/sudoers.d
#Members of the admin group may gain root privileges
%admin ALL=(ALL) ALL

I am using Windows 2003 server as OS, is there any option to give users only Read and Write access. I don't want users to copy the file or move the file or attach the file in any mail. As the file is an very confidential. Is there any way to do so??
This would be in OS X 10.6...
I know I can connect a server share as a volume and do so via a script so every time I boot up it gets mapped.
How can I make sure that same share is mapped after my computer comes out of sleep mode? It seems like the connection gets dropped. Can the same process map the drive for me when I boot up?

I am basically asking how to slipstream an application, I suppose. Please note that I do not want to combine these applications into a slipstreamed OS, but keep them separate on their own installation CDs--just like they came out of the box, only updated! Any help would be appreciated. Im asking specifically for programs I run on XP PRO.
While connected to a VPN (SwissVPN service), a content filter at a site I'm working at blocked a web page. This was perplexing, since the local site's filter should not be able to see my traffic, right?
So I assume my web browsing activity was not going through the VPN tunnel. How can I configure the OS to send ALL traffic though the currently connected VPN tunnel? I'm using OSX Lion and Windows 7.
Thanks!
I need to open a specific port on my mac client (because when I try to connect from server it says "target machine actively refused it ").My problem though is I cannot find a way to add a specific port on my latest Mac OS.
I go to system pref-securtiy &privacy-firewall- turn it on (FWIW
connection didnt work when I had turned it off)-Firewall options-"+"
This gives me an option to add some application but not a port .Can someone point me to the right place to add the port?
My ThinkPad notebook has "next page" and "previous page" buttons right next to the cursor keys.
While writing code (sometimes in textareas on pages such as StackOverflow) accidentally hitting one of these keys is very annoying - either you navigate away or you get the "do you really want to navigate way" prompt.
I never use those keys anyway so I wonder if there's an option in Firefox to ignore those keys.
An option to remap them globally or simply disable them would (OS: Windows 7) be fine, too.
I'm looking for a desktop, cross-OS, Word/Writer-like program (this is, that lets the user format the content, as opposed to source code editors) without all the feature bloat + performance overhead I'd get with an office suite.
Ideally, most of its features would be focused on:
the text editing itself - clever replaces, indentation control, etc, and
separating the content from its presentation, à la HTML/CSS.
Which programs match these features?
I'd like to bind ?? and ?? on Terminal.app to going to the start and end of the line respectively so it behaves like any (almost) other program in Mac OS X. Is it possible?
I went to Preferences and to configure key bindings and the only modifier keys are control, option, none and shift.

Hi,
I've just begun to use the Terminal in Mac OS X and I've found the 'man' command very useful, although very often the explanations are too compact or complicated for me. I am looking for a very basic reference guide – like O'Reilly makes, for example. But in there I didn't find an entry for basic commands like ls or ln and a layman's explanation of all the flags and options. Could anybody recommend me something?
Thansk a bunch in advance
