  Hello, I have any array $num_list = array(42=>'0',44=>'0',46=>'0',48=>'0',50=>'0',52=>'0',54=>'0',56=>'0',58=>'0',60=>'0'); and I want to change specific values as I go through a loop while(list($pq, $oin) = mysql_fetch_row($result2)) { $num_list[$oin] = $pq; } So I want to change like 58 to 403 rather then 0. However I always end up getting just the last change and non of the earlier ones. So it always ends up being something like 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,403 rather then 14,19,0,24,603,249,0,0,0,403 How can I do this so it doesn't overwrite it? Thanks

  I'm trying to detect whether an image exists on a remote server. However, I've tried several methods and can't get any of them to work. Right now I'm trying to use this: if (!CheckImageExists("http://img2.netcarshow.com/ABT-Audi_R8_2008_1024x768_wallpaper_01.jpg")) { print_r("DOES NOT EXIST"); } else { print_r("DOES EXIST"); }; function CheckImageExists($imgUrl) { if (fopen($imgUrl, "r")) { return true; } else { return false; }; }; But it returns 'true' whether the image actually exists or not (the above image should, but change it to gibberish and it still will return 'true'). I have a feeling it could be because if the URL does not exist, it redirects to the homepage of the site. But I don't know how to detect that. Thanks for any help!

  I have a HTML node like so: <b>Bold text</b> A variable $el contains a DOMElement reference to the text of that HTML node ("Bold text"), got from the XPath expression //b/text() I want to change the element to <b><span>Bold Text</span></b> So I tried: $span = $doc->createElement('span', "Bold Text"); $el->parentNode->replaceChild($span,, $el) which fails because parentNode is null. So, as a test, I tried: $el-insertBefore($span, $el); which throws no errors but produces no change in the output. Any thoughts?

  Hey all I'm trying to run a java jar file from the command line and within the the execution it gives a path. Withing this path their are spaces and this is causing the issue. ie $f = `java -jar /OCR/ocr.jar /Folder/Sub Folder/filetoocr.pdf /ocr/output.txt`; echo "<pre>$output</pre>"; If you can see the space in between the Sub Folder name causes the issue. By command line it would be (which works) java -jar /OCR/ocr.jar /Folder/Sub\ Folder/filetoocr.pdf /ocr/output.txt any suggestions how I can resolve this ?? Hope you can advise

  Hi i have a social networking website. what i want it to do is pull out my friends status updates. basically what it does is i have a mysql query that pulls out all of my friends and in that while loop there is another mysql query that pulls out the status's from my friends. i want it to be in order of date but since its one while loop in another what it does is pull out all status's from friend 1 then 2 then 3 and not in order by date. i even tried ORDER BY DATE but that just ordered it by date within the friend.. my thought is that i could putt it all in an array and friends is one thing and the values is the stats. then just sort by values would this work and how could i do it.   I have a class called "Layout" for the layout of the page, another class called "User" for the user. Every page I create, I instantiate a new Layout. When a user logs in, there is a new User instantiated. How do I get an instance of the layout class to know about the instantiated user? I could also save the entire instance of the User in a session variable. I assume that's a bad idea though. What are the best practices for this?

• PHP rewrite giving 404, .htaccess problem?

  I have the following .htaccess: #Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase /phptest on my local testing server (http://localhost) I have to uncomment the first line for the site to work. Otherwise I get Error 403 (Forbidden). Once I upload the page to my webserver (FastHosts) I get Error 500 (Internal Server Error) if the first line is not commented out. If I comment it out, my page loads but it cannot find the page content which is mydomain.com/phptest/Home I get a 404. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

• How to execute a large PHP Script ?

  Well basically I may want to execute a script that may take as much as 1 hours as well. What I really want to do is Send SMS to my users using a third party API. So its basically like I supply my script with an array of phone numbers and fire the method to send SMS. However assuming it take 5 seconds to send 1 SMS and I want to send 1000 SMS which is roughly 1 - 2 hours. I can use set_time_limit() because I am on shared host. One way to do this is store numbers in a session and execute each SMS and use javascript to refresh that page until end. This way I need to keep my browser open and the execution will stop if my Internet Connection is disconnected. So, Is there any better way to do this ? Hope I am clear enough to explain what I want? I want to execute a large script that may take hours to execute without getting timeout.
