I'm having problems in canceling data .In normal case which presses the confirm button, it will be saved into sqlite and will be displayed on listview. How can I make cancel event through back key or more button event?     On http://aws.amazon.com/ebs/pricing/ it says: "EBS Snapshots [...] For the first snapshot of a volume, Amazon EBS saves a full copy of your data to Amazon S3. For each incremental snapshot, only the changed part of your Amazon EBS volume is saved." I intend to snapshot some of my instances daily and keep snapshots for 7 days after which the snapshots are destroyed. What happens when, eventually, I destroy the first snapshot? Will the subsequent snapshots be worthless given the first is no longer available?

    I am playing around with PHPFog and as a result I ended up with a MySql database. I am trying to figure out how to connect to it with a success message. PHPFog says use this: mysql_connect( $server = getenv('MYSQL_DB_HOST'), $username = getenv('MYSQL_USERNAME'), $password = getenv('MYSQL_PASSWORD')); mysql_select_db(getenv('MYSQL_DB_NAME')); So I basically plug my variables into the above?     Where does Windows Mobile 6.0 store text messages that are in Outlook Mobile? I have not been able to find any information on the Web about where physically in the phone's filesystem the mailbox data is stored. I need to back up certain saved text messages before they are automatically overwritten, yet Microsoft provides no way at all to liberate the data. The device is a Palm Treo, and I can connect with Windows through ActiveSync and browse the filesystem, but I have no idea where to start. I may need to use some of this message history for legal purposes and it is important that I be able to preserve it. The normal Outlook on PCs uses .pst files to store a mailbox; is there something similar in Outlook Mobile?

  • Windows xp - recover document opened directly from IE

    Hi Attempting to help a family member recover a document. The word 2007 document was downloaded and opened directly from a webmail interface using Internet Explorer running on Windows XP. The user saved the document multiple times while working on it for the good part of a day. After closing Word 2007 the user is not able to locate the document, and I have so far not been able to help. The computer has not been turned off, and the user has not attempted to open the document directly from the mail again. Recreating the events on vista/windows 7 its easy enough to locate the document under the Temporary Internet Files folder. I have however not been able to do the same on a Windows XP. Any suggestion for how to locate this document, or if its even possible? Thanks

  • eCryptfs on ubuntu server : How to keep the home mounted without being over ssh?

    I have a daemon program who need to read in a file who is saved somewhere in my home folder. But every time I close my ssh connection, this daemon can't read the file because it appear that eCryptfs unmount the home. Maybe there is an option to force eCryptfs to not only mount with an ssh connection ? I didn't found it. Thanks. PS : I know this thread, http://askubuntu.com/questions/165608/why-is-ecryptfs-only-mounting-private-home-directory-over-ssh, but this is not the proper/good way to deal with the request.

  • better options for screen?

    OK. So I love screen. It has saved my bacon a few times when machines crash or get disconnected from the network. However, there are enough reasons keep keep me from using screen for everything, which include: Pain in the butt scrolling. Why can't I just interact as though this is a normal bash shell? My keyboard shortcuts are gone. I have a number of things customized in my bash environment, is there a way to get them to work in screen as well? Are there any tools our tips that I can use to make my screen-using experience as high quality as my bash using experience?

  • How to prevent firefox from updating

    I have firefox 3.6.x in Mint Linux. For physical problems -- eyes and color, I want to keep this version and not do any updates ever to it. I don't know if it is a firefox or linux issue, but nothing seems to work. It should not be rocket scientist enabled. :P This is what I have tried: Update Manager and added to ignore package --firef0x* Fully removed all traces of firefox and reinstalled 3.6.28 In firefox, set the upgrade options (3) of them to unselected and saved. Scanned computer for firef* to insure all traces were removed, to include /usr/bin/firefox. Using Mint Linux 9, otherwise fully upgraded for packages. That's the main things I've done. My major issues is the later versions of that software are almost impossible for me to see.

  • Is it a good idea to take onsite/offsite backups of server images?

    Assuming a non-virtualized environment it a good idea to take actual images of servers (using something like Acronis True Image) and store them on\off site? Backing up data is great but I feel it would be good to have copies of OS images in the event hardware dies or an upgrade gets botched I can always revert back. What would be your recommended way to do this (preferably using a NAS and an online backup service)? I was talking with the Iron Mountain folks and the service they described is more geared toward taking incremental snapshots of data. I'm not sure if there's a way to backup images in an incremental way such that only the changes between them are saved (that way I'm not wasting X GB each time I take an image).

    I'm trying to connect to a mobile host connected over a 3G cell router from linux with ssh [email protected] -p 2200 and all I immediately get is (doesn't even seem to run into a timeout) ssh: connect to host 74.198.25.220 port 2200: Network is unreachable However, when I try the same IP on port 2200 with putty on Windows, it presents my with the password prompt just fine as I'd expect. What's going on here, do I need to increment my ssh timeout period to get this going or what? Thank you, Ron
