  • Access or import an Outlook 2003 .pst file without Outlook

    I have a 450 meg .pst file (MS Outlook 2003 backup file) saved from a PC before it crashed. I would like to break it up into its components i.e. Save attachments to folders on my PC Paste text-emails into a word processor, etc. But I don't want to buy MS Office Professional 2003 or later solely for importing the .pst into MS Outlook 2003+. Outlook Express cannot import .pst files, only Outlook “proper” can. Is there some free email client out there, e.g. Thunderbird, that can import .pst files? Or is there some other way to access the 450meg file?

  • MapReduce job is hung after 1 of 5 reducers completed on single-node environment

    I have only one Data Node on my dev environment on EC2. I ran heavy MR job and in 6 hours noticed that 100% of mappers and 20% of reducers finished (1 of reducer shows 100% competition, other ones - 0%). Looks like job is hung between 2 reducer runs. I don't see any errors in log files. What it can be? P.S.     With LLVM and silverlight this may be possible now (or it may be possible with flash). I like the user to select a file and then do the following things 1) Hash it with md5 and sha1 2) If archive check if an exe is in it 3) If archive check if password protected The first to see if the user has uploaded it already (today, yesterday, last month) 2nd to prevent viruses 3rd i should be fine without but if i decide to not allow protected archives i can warn before the user uploads it. How may i do this through the browser?

  • Finding Locked Out Users

    Active Directory up to 2008 network (our servers are a mix of 2008, 2003...) I'm looking for a quick way to query AD to find out what users are locked out, preferably from a batch or script file, to monitor for possible issues with either user accounts being attacked by an automated attack or just anomalies in the network. I've Googled and my Google-fu has failed; I found a query off Microsoft's own knowledgebase that cites a string to use on Server 2003 with the management snap-in's saved queries (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555131) but when I entered it, the query returned 400 users that a spot-check showed did NOT have a checkmark in the "Account is locked out" box under "account." In fact, I don't see anything wrong with their accounts. Is there a simple utility (wisesoft bulkadusers apparently uses this method behind the scenes, since it's results were also wrong) that will give a count of users and possibly their user object names? Script? Something?

I.e. if I have the following request from a client (stealed from Wikipedia): GET /dir/index.html HTTP/1.0 Host: localhost Authorization: Digest username="Mufasa", realm="[email protected]", nonce="dcd98b7102dd2f0e8b11d0f600bfb0c093", uri="/dir/index.html", qop=auth, nc=00000001, cnonce="0a4f113b", response="6629fae49393a05397450978507c4ef1", opaque="5ccc069c403ebaf9f0171e9517f40e41" could I validate the user against LDAP, meaning if I don't now user password hence is not able to construct a digest hash to compare with the response?

  • Using SQL Server profiler from 2008 against R2 database

    On my dev machine I have the management studio tools installed from SQL Server 2008. However, one of the sql server boxes I need to profile against is running R2. Because of this, when I start the profiler and connect to that server all of the templates are gone. If I go to Edit the templates, the R2 server type isn't available as an option. Do I have to upgrade my local toolset to R2 or is there some other way around this? Note, that if I create a template and save it the next time I connect to the server that saved template isn't available.

  • Apache Web Server character encoding

    I've recently transferred my webapp from my localhost (LH) to a VPS, and have had hebrew chars-encoding probs since. Whenever I send a request with a heb-char it results in "?????" saved to the DB. My LH config was tomcat6, MySQL, and centOS 6.2, opened to the web. In the VPS env I'm behind an Apache Web Server, and the rest is quite the same (though I haven't done anything to its installation). Please note I already have had this problem before, on my LH when the request was sent from IE/chrome (not FF!). The solution was to apply a filter on the the context and change the char-type to UTF-8. My webapp content char-encode is utf-8, MySql server set to utf8 using charset utf8;, and my centOS set to iw_IL.UTF8 using export LANG=iw_IL.UTF8. When I use locale the bash output seems to be set correctly. Any suggestions?

    I m working on wso2 admin services. I get url as http://localhost:9763/services/AuthenticationAdmin?wsdl for AuthencticationAdmin. Now, when I hit the login operation, with admin,admin,127.0.0.1, I get true as return. ESB console shows logged in. Now, when I hit logout operation, I dont get any response.     Hi, I have a web-application which uses hibernate and for some reason every thread (httprequest or other threads related to queueing) uses a different session. I've implemented a HibernateSessionFactory class which looks like this: public class HibernateSessionFactory { private static final ThreadLocal<Session> threadLocal = new ThreadLocal<Session>(); private static Configuration configuration = new AnnotationConfiguration(); private static org.hibernate.SessionFactory sessionFactory; static { try { configuration.configure(configFile); sessionFactory = configuration.buildSessionFactory(); } catch (Exception e) {} } private HibernateSessionFactory() {} public static Session getSession() throws HibernateException { Session session = (Session) threadLocal.get(); if (session == null || !session.isOpen()) { if (sessionFactory == null) { rebuildSessionFactory();//This method basically does what the static init block does } session = (sessionFactory != null) ? sessionFactory.openSession(): null; threadLocal.set(session); } return session; } //More non relevant methods here. Now from my testing it seems that the threadLocal member is indeed initialized only once when the class is first loaded by the JVM but for some reason when different threads access the getSession() method they use different sessions. When a thread first accesses this class (Session) threadLocal.get(); will return null but as expected all other access requests will yeild the same session. I'm not sure how this can be happening as the threadLocal variable is final and the method threadLocal.set(session) is only used in the above context (which I'm 99.9% sure has to yeild a non null session as I would have encountered a NullPointerException at a different part of my app).     Does replacing chrome User Data with my own - works without leaving any trace behind? Where else chrome writes data outside of User Data folder? I used to start office work by removing chrome User Data, replacing it with my own User Data copied from my external drive, saving the original User Data to other folder. Before leaving in the evening, I will take back my own User Data, and bring back the original User Data where it is originally saved. Is this process advisable? Would I be safe this way or if not, where else does chrome save data outside of User Data folder in AppData? Also, how is the process in Mozilla Firefox?

  • How to configure a static wildcard subdomain with dnsmasq.

    I have a network behind a NAT with a few machines. The machines are: router - NAT, dnsmasq, forwarding - directly connected to the inet server - which runs ssh, www and some other stuff clients - which do stuff on server I also have mydomain.com. server.mydomain.com is pointing to my connection's IP (single IP), which is the router, which forwards ports to server. Server, has a httpd running, which serves different sites based on vhosts. So I have site1.server.mydomain.com, site2.. The problem is that all the traffic is going thru the router, and when I check logs I always see the router's IP for everything (so it's hard to see who is running the script with the while(1)). I would just ServerAlias site1.server.local, but most of the sites have a root URL saved somewhere on top of which other URLs are built, so I can't do that. The solution for me would be telling dnsmasq somehow to answer to *.mydomain.com with server's IP. Is this possible somehow?

  • I modified my registry and now my laptop doesn't report its battery or power settings

    I saved a backup of my registry and then made a change to it. After the change, the Windows 7 battery meter no longer reported how much battery power was left. I also was no longer able to change between Power Profiles in the Control Panel. I tried to restore the original registry but it didn't restore the lost power features. Now I have to keep my laptop plugged in all day because I never know how much power I have left. Anyone know what to do here?

To remove this application, you can log on as an administrator, or contact your technical support group for assistance." Why this happens instead of asking for elevation with admin password? How can I avoid this stupid error?
