If i understand properly because i am using a shared server, and that Dreamhost doesn't suppose rails 3.2.8 I must use FCGI, although i am not sure how to install and to make it run properly. From this tutorial http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Rails_3.   Hi, I'm trying to understand how SSL works. In my wish to make a small FTP client which supports SSL I've run into some problems: TcpClient FtpConnection = new TcpClient(FtpServer, FtpPort); NetworkStream FtpStream = FtpConnection.GetStream(); StreamReader FtpReader = new StreamReader(FtpStream); FtpWriter = new StreamWriter(IrcStream); send_cmd("AUTH SSL"); send_cmd is just a FtpWriter.WriteLine(text); FtpWriter.Flush(); function. My "problem" is this: First I need to make a (non-ssl) connection to the FTP, then tell it to do a ssl connection (AUTH SSL), and I would guess I then need to make a new connection - something like: TcpClient client = new TcpClient(FtpServer, FtpPort); SslStream sslStream = new SslStream(client.GetStream(), false, new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(ValidateServerCertificate), null); try { sslStream.AuthenticateAsClient("foobar"); } catch (AuthenticationException e) { MessageBox.Show("Authentication failed - closing the connection."); client.Close(); return; } Taken from msdn. I keep dying on handshake failed due to unexpected packet format (which I've tried googling, but all say it's because the author has connected to a wrong port), which I take as: The connection is not ssl until AUTH SSL is send to it. So my question is, how would i go about making this a "hybrid" connection so I can make an SSL connection to the server? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Among them are listed forwarding enums and strongly typed enums but they are listed as "partial". The main text of the article says that this means they are either incomplete or implemented in some non-standard way. So I've got VS2010RC and am playing around with the C++0x features. I can't figure these ones out and can't find any documentation on these two features.   Hey all, I am trying to doing some sql querys out of Oracle 11g and am having issues using ora:contains. I am using spring's jdbc impl and my code generates the sql statement: select * from view_name where column_a = ? and column_b = ? and existsNode(xmltype(clob_column), 'record/name [ora:contains(text(), "name1") 0]', 'xmlns:ora="http://xmlns.oralce.com/xdb"') = 1 I have removed the actual view / column names obviously, but when I copy that into sqlplus and substitute in random values, the select executes properly. When I try to run it in my DAO code I get this stack trace: org.springframework.jdbc.UncatergorizedSQLException: PreparedStatementCallback; uncatergorizedSQLException for SQL [the big select above]; SQL state [99999]; error code [31011]; ORA-31011: XML parsing failed. ORA-19202: Error occured in XML processing LPX-00607: Invalid reference: 'contains' ;nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: ORA-31011: XML parsing failed ORA-19202: Error occured in XML processing LPX-00607: Invalid reference: 'contains' (continues on like this for awhile....) • Hadoop streaming with Python and python subprocess

  I have established a basic hadoop master slave cluster setup and able to run mapreduce programs (including python) on the cluster. Now I am trying to run a python code which accesses a C binary and so I am using the subprocess module. I am able to use the hadoop streaming for a normal python code but when I include the subprocess module to access a binary, the job is getting failed. • How do I build BugTrap?

  I am trying to build the Itellesoft BugTrap source using Visual Studio 2008. I have downloaded and unziped the BugTrap source and the zlib source. I navigated down to ./BugTrap/Win32/BugTrap and opened BugTrap.sln (suggest by the author here). I used Build-Build Solution and the build failed with a compiler error: fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'zip.h': No such file or directory I opened the project properties and added the path to the zlib-vc/zlib/include folder to the list of "Additional Include Directories" and tried to build again. The second build attempt failed with a linker error: fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'zlibSD.lib' I opened the zlib project and built the source. The zlib build succeeded. However, the bin directory does not contain a zlibSD.lib. The closest file in name is zlibMSD.lib. This poster on CodeProject seemed to have the same problem I did. But there is no resolution posted. Hopefully someone out there has experience building this project and can point me in the right direction, I've played with the binary distribution and it seems really slick.

  I have a question regarding merb dependency with sqlite. I am going to install merb on my m/c and I don't have sqlite installed on my m/c . I tried this command "gem install merb" and saw following error. If there any way to install merb with mysql please tell me. Building native extensions. This could take a while... • Events not sent to WPF based ActiveX control (COM interop) when using Reg-Free-COM

  I have a WPF based ActiveX control (COM interop). I am able to use it correctly by registering the control. When I tried to Reg-Free-COM (using manifest files) the control seems to be activated, but the events (such as mouse click, RequestBringIntoView etc) dont respond. Interestingly, Double click and tab key works. I read in the this article http://blogs.msdn.com/karstenj/archive/2006/10/09/activex-wpf-gadget.aspx that " ... These upsides come with a price: the ActiveX control must be registered in the registry, which requires some kind of installation such as an .msi. The default gadget installation process cannot install ActiveX. The ActiveX control can't be access via reg-free COM. ..." Has anybody had a similar experience? Can anyone explain what is going on? Additional details: When the control is activated after it has been registered it appears as part of the COM client's UI. The control does not receive focus, its elements receive it. When using reg-free-com the control does not load correctly. 1) The control receives focus instead of its sub elements 2) The control has areas that are black instead of the windows default color 3) when I tab in and out of the control or double click it, it's subelements receive focus, the control starts receiving events and the black areas are replaced by the correct color

• Configuring 32-Bit ASP.NET Application on a 64-Bit IIS Server

  Hello, I’m trying to install a 32-bit ASP.NET application onto a 64-bit IIS server running on Windows Server 2008. This is a clean installation of the operating system with no other applications installed. As a prerequisite for our installation, we run the 32-bit version of aspnet_regiis –i It fails with the following message: The error indicates that IIS is not installed on the machine. Please install IIS before using this tool. Additionally: IIS is definitely installed. The 64 bit version of aspnet_regiis runs cleanly without warnings. “Enable 32 bit applications” is set to True in the DefaultAppPool’s Advanced Settings. The IIS Metabase and IIS 6 configuration compatibility” component is installed. We have a test VM where this error occurs as well as test VM where both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of aspnet_regiis run without errors. We've had no luck distinguishing the differences between the two test VMs. We have struggled with this issue for several days to no avail. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  I'm getting some odd response back from shopify ajaxapi for jsonp. If you cURL a Shopify ajax api location http://storename.domain.com/cart.json?callback=handler you will get a jsonp response. But something is breaking the same request in browsers. It appears to be related to compression? Here are some responses from each browser when attempting to call the jsonp as documented. Firefox: The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Each component (apiextractor, generatorrunner, shiboken, pyside-qt and pyside-tools) gets compiled into its own directory. The problem is that I don't quite understand how PySide gets into the system's python environment. I'm getting the following PHP notice randomly: Warning: fopen(http://api.facebook.com/restserver.php? … &v=1.0) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request in D:\projects........\facebookapi_php5_restlib.php on line 3391 As said, it happens randomly. My app configuration: IFrame Page host configuration: Windows Vista, Apache 2.2.11, PHP 5.1 No support for cURL is possible at the moment. My aim: Get the user's first name & pic_square along with two other preferences. If these two preferences are not set then I'll set them, after doing some internal job. I understand that the REST API is old. Which interface should I use then? Saw FQL, which seem to be fine, but I see no corresponding getUserPreference/setUserPreference interface. Where is it? How do I combine it with the "first name & pic_square" info that I need in one query? How do I read the results of multi-query query? Also, if I understand correctly, the FQL is also executed with the fopen() function, and as we see here it might fail. That means something went wrong, and then I want to handle it. Any suggestions how to do so efficiently? Less important than the above question though. Thank you all.

  I'm running dozens of map reduce jobs for a number of different purposes using disco. My data has grown enormous and I thought I would try using DDFS for a change rather than standard txt files. I've followed the DISCO map/reduce example Counting Words as a map/reduce job, without to much difficulty and with the help of others, Reading JSON specific data into DISCO I've gotten past one of my latest problems. I'm trying to read data in/out of ddfs to better chunk and distribute it but am having a bit of trouble.   Found the following here. The questions is: where can I find more details on how exactly implement this on Windows? Any guide or how-to anybody? Or maybe you can provide your invaluable suggestions? Specifically, how do I make so that "all QA servers would first resolve entries in qa.example.com first and then if that lookup failed they would try example.com" (I'm a dev, not a DNS specialist, but our IT Support has refused to help on this:() Use DNS Based Environment Determination for your servers. Do this by initially splitting your top level domain into a number of sub domains depending on their function, and then creating DNS Service Names in each of the sub domains pointing to the relevant server for that service. Based on the list above we would then have: * clientdb.prod.example.com for Production * clientdb.perf.example.com for Performance Testing * clientdb.qa.example.com for QA * clientdb.dev.example.com for Development Servers then resolve entries in their relevant sub domain by function. That is, all QA servers would first resolve entries in qa.example.com first and then if that lookup failed they would try example.com. This allows you to have a single configuration entry for your client database hostname (clientdb) that would resolve correctly in all environments. This technique has the added advantage of still having global services defined in a common top level domain. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster. what used on my form are basically a combination of html controls, asp.net controls and some asp.net mvc type controls. i submit the form using action="/Home/ProductAdded" and after doing some googling i found i was supposed to add in the machine key but after doing so, the index page becomes unviewable. because it couldn't find the index file now. removing the action helps, but now it just doesn't go anywhere. so what am i missing here? i feel i'm missing a lot of fundamentals understanding about asp.net mvc and i don't even know how to submit a form and go to a different page here!!

• NMock2.0 - how to stub a non interface call?

  Hello, I have a class API which has full code coverage and uses DI to mock out all the logic in the main class function (Job.Run) which does all the work. I found a bug in production where we werent doing some validation on one of the data input fields. So, I added a stub function called ValidateFoo()... Wrote a unit test against this function to Expect a JobFailedException, ran the test - it failed obviously because that function was empty. I added the validation logic, and now the test passes. Great, now we know the validation works. Problem is - how do I write the test to make sure that ValidateFoo() is actually called inside Job.Run()? ValidateFoo() is a private method of the Job class - so it's not an interface... Is there anyway to do this with NMock2.0? I know TypeMock supports fakes of non interface types. But changing mock libs right now is not an option. At this point if NMock can't support it, I will simply just add the ValidateFoo() call to the Run() method and test things manually - which obviously I'd prefer not to do considering my Job.Run() method has 100% coverage right now. Any Advice? Thanks very much it is appreciated. EDIT: the other option I have in mind is to just create an integration test for my Job.Run functionality (injecting to it true implementations of the composite objects instead of mocks). I will give it a bad input value for that field and then validate that the job failed. This works and covers my test - but it's not really a unit test but instead an integration test that tests one unit of functionality.... hmm.. EDIT2: IS there any way to do tihs? Anyone have ideas? Maybe TypeMock - or a better design?

  While trying to compile the following code, which is enhanced version of read build on readMay from Safe package. readI :: (Typeable a, Read a) => String -> a readI str = case readMay str of Just x -> x Nothing -> error ("Prelude.read failed, expected type: " ++ (show (typeOf > (undefined :: a))) ++ "String was: " ++ str) I get an error from GHC: WavefrontSimple.hs:54:81: Ambiguous type variable `a' in the constraint: `Typeable a' arising from a use of `typeOf' at src/WavefrontSimple.hs:54:81-103 Probable fix: add a type signature that fixes these type variable(s)` I don't understand why. What should be fixed to get what I meant? EDIT: Ok, so the solution to use ScopedTypeVariables and forall a in type signature works. But why the following produces very similar error to the one above?
