  I have a small problem with my PHP code and It would be very nice if someone could help me. I want to display an image when hovering over a link. This is the link with the PHP code that I have now: <a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"><?php if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) {the_post_thumbnail();} else if ( has_post_video() ) {the_post_video_image();}?></a> This code shows a image, but I want to execute this code when hovering over the link with the image: <?php echo print_image_function(); ?> The code also shows a image that belongs to a category. I don't want the initial image to disappear I simply want to show the second image on top off the first image when hovering over the first image. I don't know if it is helpful but I use Wordpress and I am not a PHP expert. I even don't know if this is going to work. Thats why I am asking if somebody can help me with this. Thanks in advance

• Performing a MYSQL query based off of $_GET results

  When a user clicks an item on my items page, it takes them to blank page template using $_GET to pass the item brand and model through. I'd like to perform another MYSQL query when that user clicks through to populate the blank page with the product details from my database. I'd like to retrieve the single row using the model number (unique ID) to populate the page with the information. I've tried a couple of things but am having a little difficulty. On my blank item page, I have $brand = $_GET['Brand']; $modelnumber = $_GET['ModelNumber']; $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM items WHERE `Model Number` = '$modelnumber'"); $results = mysql_fetch_row($query); echo $results; I think having ''s around Model Number is causing troubles, but without them, I get a Warning: mysql_fetch_row() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given error. My database columns looks like Brand | Model Number | Price | Description | Image A few other things I have tried include $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM item WHERE Model Number = $_GET['ModelNumber']"); Which gave me a syntax error. I've also tried concatenating the $_GET which gives me a mysql_fetch_row() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given error Which leads me to believe that I'm also going about displaying the results incorrectly. I'm not sure if I need to put it in a where loop like I have with my previous page which displays all items in the database because this is just displaying one.

• Is it best to make fewer calls to the database and output the results in an array?

  I'm trying to create a more succinct way to make hundreds of db calls. Instead of writing the whole query out every time I wanted to output a single field, I tried to port the code into a class that did all the query work. But if I want to output the price of that listing, I have to make another call to getListingInfo(). This makes another query on the db and again returns only the first row. This is much more succinct than writing the entire query each time, but I feel like I may be calling the db too often. Is there a better way to output the data from my class and still be succinct in accessing it (maybe outputting all the rows to an array and returning the array)? If yes, How?

What I need to do is to access an array called $xml_array like this: $xml_array['response']['items']['item'] When I write it in the code it works. The thing is that I want it to be done on the fly.   I found this post about how to create a "down for maintenance" page but I'm having some trouble getting it to work properly. define('MAINTENANCE', 1); if(MAINTENANCE > 0){ require('maintenance.php'); die(); } When I place this code in /webroot.index.php it works. However, the answer suggests adding an IP address check so that if it's down, I would still be able to view it and make sure any updates went through smoothly. So, it would look something like this define('MAINTENANCE', 0); if(MAINTENANCE > 0 && $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] !='188.YOUR.IP.HERE'){ require('maintenance.php'); die(); } The issue is, my IP address will NOT be detected by cake. I've typed echo $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] and it just shows ::1. I also tried using my user_id but I got the following error Class 'AuthComponent' not found in.... I tried /index.php and /App/index.php but the maintenance page wasn't triggered and the page loads normally.

  I have a process that's writing a lot of data to stdout, which I'm redirecting to a log file. I'd like to limit the size of the file by occasionally copying the current file to a new name and truncating it. My usual techniques of truncating a file, like cp /dev/null file don't work, presumably because the process is using it. Is there some way I can truncate the file?   I am trying to read a link from one page, print the url, go to that page, and read the link on the next page in the same location, print the url, go to that page (and so on...) All I'm doing is reading the url and passing it as an argument to the get_links() method until there are no more links. This is my code but it throws a Fatal error: Call to a member function find() on a non-object.
