  • Use Rails 3's ActiveSupport core extensions outside rails

    Hi guys. I'm having a problem using ActiveSupport's core extensions on a gem I am developing. I had it working with AS 2.3.8, but as soon as I wanted to port it to 3b4, the extensions stopped working and my test results are filled with lines such as: undefined method `blank?' for "something":String I've included it via gem "activesupport" followed by require "active_support" Is there anything else I need to call to include those extensions? This test obviously fails: Mapper.CreateMap<Source, Dest>(); var source = new Source() { Person = new Student(){ Name = "J", StudentId = 5 }}; var dest = Mapper.Map<Source, Dest>(source); Assert.AreEqual(5, dest.PersonStudentId); What would be the best approach to mapping this given that "Person" is actually a heavily used data-type throughout our domain model.

    Hi all, I'm writing some assembly for a project using MASM (32-bit), and I was wondering what would be the easiest way to do this: int delta = A - B; int value = floor((delta + sign(delta)) / 2); Which is basically the following mapping: For 1 < A < 9, and B = 5: A = [1, 2] -> -2 A = [3, 4] -> -1 A = [5] -> 0 A = [6, 7] -> +1 A = [8, 9] -> +1 Any help is much appreciated!

    I restarted my slave to change configuration settings to skip reverse hostname lookup on connecting and to enable the slow query log. I edited /etc/my.cnf making only these changes, then restarted mysqld with /etc/init.d/mysql restart All appeared to be well but when I connect to msyqld remotely or locally though it connects okay a slight problem is that mysqld crashes whenever you try to issue any kind of statement.   • Can't run rails server as daemon

    I'm using rails 2.3.2 and when I run script/server -d, the only output I get is = Booting Mongrel = Rails 2.3.2 application starting on http://0.0.0.0:3000 which is fine. But when I check for anything running on port 3000, i get nothing. Any ideas?

  • How do I run my application as superuser from Eclipse?

    I'm running in to an error when I try to run my server application from Eclipse. The error is java.net.BindException: Permission denied. I think this is because I am using port 443 to set up an SSL connection. I can get around this problem if I run my code on the command line using javac and sudo. Is there a way to set up Eclipse so that when I hit the run button, my application is executed with sudo?

    I want to redirect users from www.example.com/apple to http://food.example.com/fruits/apple Note: This is a hardcoded redirection. Even a mapping if you will. "apple" will not be substituted with anything else. Nothing in the two URLs will change except for the domain of course. So there is no need for a regular expression to match the "apple" or anything else. There is already dozens of RewriteCond and RewriteRule things in the .htaccess file. I do not want them to be affected. This redirection is independent of those. I have access to the .htaccess file at the root of www.example.com and the httpd.conf What code should I put in .htaccess in order to achieve this? Or should I change the httpd.conf?

    Long story short, I have a struct (see below) that contains exactly one field: private int value; I've also implemented implicit conversion operators: public static implicit operator int(Outlet val) { return val.value; } public static implicit operator Outlet(int val) { return new Outlet(val); } I've implemented all of the following : IComparable, IComparable<Cart>, IComparable<int>, IConvertible, IEquatable<Cart>, IEquatable<int>, IFormattable I'm at a point where I really have no clue why, but whenever I serialize this object, I get no value. For instance, with XmlSerialization: <Outlet /> Also, I'm not solely concerned about XmlSerialization, I'm concerned about ALL serialization (binary for instance) How can I ensure that this serializes properly? NOTE: I did this because mapping an int,int dictionary seemed rather poorly typed to me when explicit objects with validation behavior were desired.

How to open LPT1 port and send data to?   • NHibernate filters don't work with Session.Get

    I'm trying to implement a Soft-deletable repository. Usually this can be easily done with a Delete Event listener. To filter out the deleted entities, I can add a Where attribute to my class mapping. However, I also need to implement two more methods in the repository for this entity: Restore and Purge. Restore will "undelete" entities and Purge will hard-delete them. This means I can't use Where attribute (since it block out soft-deleted entities to any access) I tried using filters instead. I can create a filter and enable or disable it within session to achieve the same result.   • Repository vs Data Access

    Hi guys In the context of the n-tier application, is there a difference between what you would consider your data access classes to be and your repositories? I tend to think yes but I just wanted to see what other thought. My thinking is that the job of the repository is just to contain and execute the raw query itself, where as the data access class would create the context, execute the repository (passing in the context), handle mapping the data model to the domain model and return the result back up... What do you guys think? Also do you see any of this changing in a Linq to XML scenario (assuming that you change the context for the relevant XDocument)? Cheers Anthony

    I'm a J2EE developer & we are using hibernate mapping with a PostgreSQL database. We have to keep track of any changes occurs in the database, in others words all previous & current values of any field should be saved. Each field can be any type (bytea, int, char...) With a simple table it is easy but we a graph of objects things are more difficult. So we have, speaking in a UML point of view, a graph of objects to store in the database with every changes & the user. Any idea or pattern how to do that?

    I have a table that stores my Customer hierarchy with a nested set (due to the specific design of the application, I wasn't able to leverage just a Customer/Parent Customer mapping table). To simplify maintenance of this table, I've built a couple of stored procedures to handle moving nodes around and creating new nodes, but it's significantly more work than maintaining a Customer/Parent Customer table. Further, these structures are very fragile. So I'm looking for a way to have a Customer/Parent Customer table and then convert that table to a nested set on demand. Does anyone have a link to such an implementation?

  • OCL constraints intended prevent node creation in an GMF generated editor only makes it invisible

    Hello, I am working on editors created with GMF and struggling with OCL right now. Is there a possibilty to prevent a node to be created if an OCL statement in the mapping evaluates to false? If tried adding an OCL statement to a node and all it does is making the node not visible in the editor, but it is created. There is also an OCL statement in the ecore file, but this way it is only evaluated when there should be something done with the created model. I does not prevent a user to construct an invalid model but this is what I intend to prevent. Thanks in advance, Morph
