• SQL Joing on a one-to-many relationship

  Ok, here was my original question; Table one contains ID|Name 1 Mary 2 John Table two contains ID|Color 1 Red 2 Blue 2 Green 2 Black I want to end up with is ID|Name|Red|Blue|Green|Black 1 Mary Y Y 2 John Y Y Y It seems that because there are 11 unique values for color and 1000's upon 1000's of records in table one that there is no 'good' way to do this. So, two other questions. Is there an efficient way to get this result? I can then create a crosstab in my application to get the desired result. ID|Name|Color 1 Mary Red 1 Mary Blue 2 John Blue 2 John Green 2 John Black If I wanted to limit the number of records returned how could I do something like this? Where ((color='blue') AND (color<>'red' OR color<>'green')) So using the above example I would then get back ID|Name|Color 1 Mary Blue 2 John Blue 2 John Black I connect to Visual FoxPro tables via ADODB.   Hello, for putting methods of various classes into a global registry I'm using a decorator with a metaclass. The first thought was to subclass the metaclass and put the other registry in. For that the new method has simply to be rewritten. Since rewriting means redundant code this is not what I really want. So, it would be nice if anyone could name a way how to put an attribute inside of the metaclass which is able to be read when new is executed.   I have 2 very similar routes, just because i'm trying to generate two different URLs for the same resource (same Controller/Action), and both are very similar. These are the routes definitions: routes.MapRoute("Post2.Mp3", "sites/{siteSlug}/post/{brand}/aconstant-{slug}.mp3", new { controller = "Posts", action = "Mp3" }, new { siteSlug = @"[A-Za-z0-9-_]+", slug = @"[^(aconstant\-)][A-Za-z0-9-_]+", brand = @"[A-Za-z0-9-_]+" }); routes.MapRoute("Post.Mp3", "sites/{siteSlug}/post/{slug}.mp3", new { controller = "Posts", action = "Mp3" }, new { siteSlug = @"[A-Za-z0-9-_]+", slug = @"[A-Za-z0-9-_]+" }); "brand" is going to be my site name, which is the same as "aconstant" in those routes. Now, if I try this: Url.Action("ShowMp3", "Posts", new { siteSlug = post.Site.Slug, slug = post.Slug, origin = "origfeedwithaudio", brand = "aconstant" }) sometimes I get the URL I expect: /sites/site-Name/post/aconstant/aconstant-post-Name.mp3 but sometimes, I get this: /sites/site-Name/post/post-Name.mp3?brand=aconstant By sometimes, I mean that different sets of "slugs" give me one or the other. I haven't seen the same set of slugs give me different URLs. I haven't found any reasonable rule for when i'm getting one or the other, it seems random. What is going on here? • NHibernate HiLo generation and SQL 2005/8 Schemas

  I have an issue on my hands that I've spent several days searching for an answer to no avail... We're using HiLo Id generation, and everything seems to be working fine, as long as the entity table is in the same schema as the hibernate_unique_key table. The table structure is pretty simple. I have my hi value table in the db as dbo.hibernate_unique_key. Several entity table are also in the dbo schema, and they work without issue. Then we have tables under the "Contact" schema (such as Contact.Person and Contact.Address). In the Person Mapping file: <class name="Person" table="Person" schema="Contact"> <id name="Id" unsaved-value="0"> <generator class="hilo"> <param name="max_lo">100</param> </generator> </id> ... When I try to insert a Person entity, I get an error of "Invalid object name 'Contact.hibernate_unique_key'. That error is certainly clear enough. So I add: <param name="schema">dbo</param> to my mapping file/generator element. Now, when the SessionFactory is built, I get a "An item with the same key has already been added." error. So now I'm a bit stuck. I can't leave the HiLo generator without a schema, because it picks up the schema from the Class, and I can't specify the schema because it's already been added (presumably because it's my "default_schema" as identified in my XML cfg file). Am I completely hosed here? Must I either A) Keep all my tables in the dbo schema or B) Create a separate HiLo Key table for each unique schema in the DB? Neither of those scenarios is particularly palatable for my application, so I'm hoping that I can "fix" my mapping files to address this issue.

And just to be sure, if I also have to check for whether it is possible, I would name the boolean possible and use if(possible) along with else, right?

• certificate issues running app in windows 7 ?

  Hi, I'm having some problems with my App. I'm using 'org.mentalis.security' assembly to create a certificate object from a 'pfx' file, this is the line of code where the exception occurs : Certificate cert = Certificate.CreateFromPfxFile(publicKey, certificatePassword); this has always worked and still does in production, but for some reason it throws an exception when run in windows 7 (tried it on 2 machines). CertificateException : Unable to import the PFX file! [error code = -2146893792] I can't find much on this message via google, but when checking the EventViewer I get an 'Audit Failure' every time this exception occurs: Event ID = 5061 Source = Microsoft Windows Security Task Category = system Integrity Keywords = Audit Failure Cryptographic operation. Subject: Security ID: NT AUTHORITY\IUSR Account Name: IUSR Account Domain: NT AUTHORITY Logon ID: 0x3e3 Cryptographic Parameters: Provider Name: Microsoft Software Key Storage Provider Algorithm Name: Not Available. Key Name: VriendelijkeNaam Key Type: User key. Cryptographic Operation: Operation: Open Key. Return Code: 0x2 ` I'm not sure why this isn't working on win 7, I've never had problems when I was running on Vista with this. I am running VS2008 as administrator but I guess that maybe the ASP.NET user doesn't have sufficient rights or something.   I have 4 string variables name, quest, favorite_color, speed that might be empty. I want to concatenate them all together, putting spaces between those that aren't empty.   I am trying to find the correct properties to use to connect to the Gmail SMTP sever using the JavaMailSenderImpl class. Let me first say that I have tried the approach found here. This worked fine. But when I tried the configuration below that post with the exact same authentication information I received a javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException. • UnicodeEncodeError when uploading files in Django admin

  Note: I asked this question on StackOverflow, but I realize this might be a more proper place to ask this kind of question. I'm trying to upload a file called 'Testaråäö.txt' via the Django admin app. I'm running Django 1.3.1 with Gunicorn 0.13.4 and Nginx 0.7.6.7 on a Debian 6 server. Database is PostgreSQL 8.4.9. Other Unicode data is saved to the database with no problem, so I guess the problem must be with the filesystem somehow. I've set http { charset utf-8; } in my nginx.conf. LC_ALL and LANG is set to 'sv_SE.UTF-8'. Running 'locale' verifies this. I even tried setting LC_ALL and LANG in my nginx init script just to make sure locale is set properly. I suppose this must mean that the issue is with Nginx. Still beats me where to look, though. • Making an XSL stylesheet work with paged XML

  First off, here is the situation. I'm using a guild hosting site that allows you to input the URL to an XSL file and another input for the XML. All well and good when all of the XML you want is contained in one file. My problem is this Game Roster XML which is paginated... look near the bottom of the file and you will find a <page_links> section that contains a pager written in HTML with links to /xml?page=2 etc. Since the guild hosting site is set up to only process one XML page I can't get to the other XML pages. So, I can only think of two solutions, but I have no idea how to get started Set up a php page that combines all XML pages into one, then output that file. I can then use this URL in the guild hosting site XSL processor. Somehow combine all the XML files within the XSL stylesheet. I found this question on SO (I don't really understand it, because I don't know what the document($pXml1) is doing), but I don't think it will work since the number of pages will be variable. I think this might be possible by loading the next page until the <members_to> value equals the <members_total>. Any other ideas? I don't know XSL or php that well so any help with code examples would be greatly appreciated. Update: I'm trying method 2 above and here is a snippet of XSLT with which I am having trouble. The first page of the code displays without problems, but the I am having trouble with this xsl:if, or maybe it's the document() statement. • Copied Netbeans IDE Maven Web project failes to compile

  If I am going to make serious changes to my project I like to make a copy (right click project and select copy). I have created copies of my projects many times (maven web applications included) without issue. Now all I do is copy the project making no changes, leaving the copy settings on default (project name etc) and then try to run it and spring decides to take issue with it. Again I try running the original and it works. I deleted the faulty copy, restarted and tried again and still it does not work. • Rails 2.3 uniqueness validation - how can I capture the value causing the error

  Hi - I'm trying to capture the value that's throwing a uniqueness error (or for that matter, any other type of built-in validation) to display it in the :message option. Here's what I tried (didn't work) # inside the model validate_uniqueness_of :name, :message => "#{name} has already been taken" # also tried using #{:name} I could use a custom validation, but this beats the point of using something that's already integrated into AR. Any thoughts? thanks.

  i have an xml doc with a structure like this: below is supposed to be XML but i dont know how to format it so it will show correct so i used [ ] instead of the typical < [Book] [Title title="Door Three"/] [Author name ="Patrick"/] [/Book] [Book] [Title title="Light"/] [Author name ="Roger"/] [/Book] i want to be able to PROGRAMMATICALY add xml nodes to this xml in a particular place. lets say i wanted to add a Link node as a child to the author node where the name is Roger (or whatever dynamic value is passed in here). i think its best if the function containing this logic is passed a param for the name to add an xml node under, please advise and whats the code i need to add xml nodes to a certain place in the xml? now i am using .AppendChild() method but it doesn't allow for me to specify a parent node to add under... thanks all.

  I extended JDialog to create a custom dialog where the user must fill some fields : How should I retrieve the data entered ? I came up with a solution that works. It mimics JOptionPane but the way I do it looks ugly to me because of the static fields involved... • Silverlight: how to modify the width of ListBox Items in response to user input?

  I have a simple Silverlight 3 UserControl whose width increases or decreases based on user input. The controls become more wide or more narrow as desired, except for the ListBox items. The ListBox Items grow horizontally to fit their content regardless of HorizontalContentAlignment being set to 'Stretch'. Should I be able to set a property on ListBox.ItemContainerStyle to tell it to widen/narrow with the parent ListBox? There needs to be no horizontal scrolling within this Listbox. Or is there a way to specify the ItemTemplate's StackPanel width that can be modified at runtime? I have bound this to a StaticResource, but do not understand whether I should be able to change the resource value. Can I create and bind to a DependencyProperty of the UserControl itself?
