  Hi, I have been busy creating an app for Red5. Imagine what was my surprise when I tried to configure basic/digest authentication and I couldn't. What struck me as strange is that I have a running tomcat instance that works and authenticates correctly with the following xmls: web.xml (part of) <security-constraint> <web-resource-collection> <web-resource-name>A Protected Page</web-resource-name> <url-pattern>/stats.jsp</url-pattern> </web-resource-collection> <auth-constraint> <description/> <role-name>tomcat</role-name> </auth-constraint> </security-constraint> <login-config> <auth-method>DIGEST</auth-method> <realm-name>BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA</realm-name> </login-config> <security-role> <description/> <role-name>tomcat</role-name> </security-role> and a tomcat-users.xml in /conf that looks kinda like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <tomcat-users> <role rolename="tomcat"/> <user username="ide" password="bogus" roles="tomcat"/> </tomcat-users> The annoying thing is that configuration authenticates correctly when on tomcat's servlet container, but on the red5's modified one, it just keeps asking for authentication. Am I becoming mad or it should work like a charm? Red5 is version 0_9_1 The stats.jsp is accessible in both servlet containers, the only difference is that when you input the correct password and username in tomcat, you are logged in, and in red5 you are not, it just keeps asking you for the password. Any pointers? Am I missing something? I was wondering where and how in red5.xml should I specify bean properties such that I force red5 to use MemoryRealm that is under /conf/tomcat-users.xml, because it certainly doesn't do so now. • VS 2010 very slow

  I have just upgraded to VS 2010, and I have performance problems which I did not have before (in VS 2008). The most annoying thing is that it freezes while I work in the text editor. Sometimes when it freezes I see that it is saving auto recovery information, but not always. Almost anything I do gives an unacceptable long delay, like saving, starting to debug, ending debug session, switching between design and code view, and doing WinForms designing. I have some parts of my home directory on a mapped network drive. I suspect that that might be a part of the problem. Is it possible to configure VS 2010 to use exclusively local disk for its "internal" work perhaps? Any hints would be appreciated! Has anyone else experienced these kinds of problems?

  I'm tearing my hair out trying to work out why the command I'm executing via Java using a ProcessBuilder & Process is not working. I run the "same" command at the Windows command line and it works as expected. It must be that they're not the same but I can't for the life of me work out why. • JBOSS 7.1 started hanging after 6 months of deployment

  My application is been live from 6 months. The application is host on jboss 7.1 server. From last few days I am finding numerous problem of hanging of jboss server. Though I restart the jboss server again, it does not invoke. I need to restart the server machine itself. Can anyone please let me know what could be the cause of these problems and the workable resolutions or any suggestion ?   When I use C# to implement the AES symmetric encryption cipher, I noticed: PasswordDeriveBytes derivedPassword = new PasswordDeriveBytes(password, saltBytesArray, hashAlgorithmName, numPasswordIterations); Why do I need to use a hashing algorithm for AES encryption? Aren't they separate? Or is the hashing algorithm only used to create a secure key? The AES algorithm doesn't use a hashing algorithm internally does it?

  I have some Java code that connects to an Oracle database using DriverManager.getConnection(). It works just fine on my Windows XP machine.   Is there a way to force sharepoint 2010 to popup the dialog to ask the user for a username and password and not use the computers logged in user, if that user doesn't have access. We need an internal sharepoint website to not use the windows credentials, since these are computers used by many people. The windows user doesn't have access to the site, so currently it shows an access denied, click here to log in as another user. We would prefer if it just asked for credentials in a more graceful manner.
